If you want to learn real math dont take her, if you ask her questions she tells you "refer to your notes", she makes up her own math strategies...out of 25 students 15 drooped out. she talks too much about everything else but what shes teaching and mixes it all up. she talks too fast!!!

Loretta Blanchette is an awful and horrible teacher she does not explain good and most of her students faili advice any student registered in her class to drop it the first day. One of my friends told me to drop it and i didnt listen to her and as a result i had to drop it cuz 50 percent of the students that dont drop fail and out of 30 in my class

This is an awful teacher, makes to much emphasis on how to take notes and what to highlight or not, I mean come on, high school is over. Gives a lot of homework, which is great cuz you more chances to pass, but anyways, awful teaching. There is no way anybody can learn math when a tecaher spends 30min talking and the rest teaching on a 50min class.

I'm usually very good at math, and I enjoy it so much. But this professor, she's really not for anyone. Way too annoying and finnicky. She talks way too much and too quickly, I feel bad for every who can't follow her. She drifts from topic to topic till you're just lost. Tests are easy though, and if you do your homework, you'll Ace this class.

She starts by giving you hope by saying you don't have to take the final if you pass all her test with a B. DO NOT LET HER FOOL YOU. She only give two examples per section and she doesn't explain it at all. I thought i was good a math but she prove me otherwise. She may be a good person but a horrible teacher.

i took this professor for math 1033, good lectures , but makes you work extra for the portfolio and the alex hours are insane .Prepare not to have a life while taking this class. Dont buy the book, you will not need and save money.

I understood math until I took this professor. She jumps around from problem to problem without even finishing the first one. Even during her office hours she does not explain well enough for the student to understand. You will end up living in the math lab if you want to try to pass her class.

I took this class And I finished with an A because I want to be a doctor but it was hard . I had to study myself a lot almost I got crazy with a lot of homeworks . She is tough and the sad part is I wasn't prepare enough for Calculous . I forgot everything because the way that she teach is not the correct one. I was there just trying to survive.

Don't take her if you don't understand math! She's very strict! You have to do all the notes she will teach before she even teaches it and if not you'll get marked as absent! Explains 1-2 problems and then makes you do reviews from the book that aren't even close to what she explained. Basically you have too teach yourself how to do it. STAY AWAY!!

SHE HAS ABSOLUTE UNNECESSARY STRUCTURE! You can't talk, get up to pee, or even stretch without her going, "SQUIRREL!" There are no extensions. She talks in unnecessary mathematical tongues. She thinks she is cracking the code dark matter at MIT. There are VERY peculiar rules that are very paranoid.

She doesnt teach very well. She uses crazy odd examples. And she tells us (the students) to ask questions and when we do she doesnt answer our questions. If you go to class and leave early she will mark you absent.

No reviews, only for the final, if you didnt get it in that single class bad luck and dont ask anything, the answer is mostly something like "ask me later". If you do a problem in a different way she is going to take away points even if your answer is the same.

If you don't do a problem her way she takes away points even if you got the right answer. It is ridiculous. First time a drop a class in 2 years. She expects you to learn the material before she teaches it. During class she speeds through lectures and get upset if people even whisper to each other. Take her if you're good at math, if your like me and struggle and need a more in depth lecture, forget about it. Felt like I was back in middle school.

I took her for stats, it was supposed to be someone else and not her. The first day it was completely full, once it was the second day with her it was at least 10-13 people including myself. I'm not good at math, I took intermediate Algebra and it jumped all the way to stats. She's sweet and all, but I do not recommend to take her.

She makes it hard . No dropped test or curves.. even with the whole COVID . Only good thing she didn't make us use our camera. You must show ur work her way and graphs had to be detailed and all. We couldn't go back and check our answers during exams. And no testing window. My class was at 7am!! I hated it. Her homework wasn't so bad.

She always has this certain attitude in her voice, I got a 90 on her first test then when I get my results she gave me a 65 just because I didnt do all the work exactly how she wanted to see it worked out. If you ever dont know an answer & just hope to get it right by guessing it doesnt matter because even if you got it right she will mark wrong.

Just by taking a look at the syllabus you will feel the sensation of dropping out. The one part that irritates me the most is how demanding she is with her test.

This professor was the worst, she'd give us so much homework with so many steps. On the tests, you have to show work for every question. You also have to have the steps perfectly as well. It doesn't matter if you got the answer. If you don't do it with the method she uses it's completely wrong, regardless or not if you showed work another way.

If you're looking for a MAC1105 course, I suggest finding another class. Blanchette was a horrible professor. She made no sense explaining her work, lectured quickly, did not care about student feedback. She threatened students to pass exams, was terrible at lecturing, proctored, one reference sheet no examples allowed, not open book for everyone.

rude, mean, and annoying. she accused me of cheating on the first assignment bc i "did it too fast". very passive aggressive if you want a chill teacher this class is not for you. attendance and participation are necessary. ended up dropping the class bc her notes are messy, she is mean, and there was too much homework. no consideration for others.

Terrible professor all around. Rude, messy work, unfair, work made no sense. Lots of homework and long complicated and unnecessary steps. She also had a nasty attitude with students and strict attendance.

The course itself is fairly simple yet this professor doesn't teach according to the textbook. The only homework assigned is 10-20 exercises from the textbook after every lesson done, has to be using her format and steps. tough grader. Grades based on participation, 3 exams, and the 3 homework. You'll regret taking this course.

This professor thinks every student is going to be a Mathematician. Lots of difficult questions that would never help you in life. If you are not excellent at math you would never pass her class.

Dislike this professor for many things. I didn't think she was bad at first the homework questions toaling at least (100 questions) 10 on each section were not the issue i have with this teacher. I just received a 50 on an exam i studied for because she marked off points for using alternate methods than what was taught in class. Disrespectful.

AVOID HER AT ALL COST you see her name on your schedule switch out. She can't teach, over explains everything with terrible analogies, Test is worth 80 percent of the grade. If you have that expansive graphing calculator she doesn't let you use it because its "cheating". Her homework assignments most of them have questions that have over 7 parts.

Her class is fairly easy. However. She's very quick to make assumptions. I take my notes on my iPad and accused me of typing and copy/pasting my notes when they are handwritten digitally. The Honorlock system for her test is weird as hell. Its AI based and if you make the simplest mistake, she will notify you and ask you to explain yourself.

I don't know where to begin. Just switch professors.

Avoid taking this class if possible. The professor has trouble explaining concepts clearly and makes unreasonable demands, like requiring perfect step-by-step work on exams. However, Unstuckstudy proved helpful for study prep when the lectures fell short.

don't bother taking any classes from her. she's inconsiderate, disrespectful, and always has an attitude with students. she makes you stay for longer than the class is supposed to be and doesn't even consider if you have any classes after hers. she is not a good professor and does not care about her students and how she can support them to do well.

Most incompetent professor I have ever had let alone teacher; does not allow you to go to the bathroom during class and instructs you to go before and after as if the pupils were little kids. She is incompetent at teaching and frequently makes mistakes whenever writing things down on the board and does not fix them.

Want to go back to high school, but with only 4 test as your grade, great found the perfect person, long lectures, heavy tests, fail 2 and you can already say goodbye to your GPA, she likes to yap.

This was the hardest i've ever tried in a class and the hardest i've ever failed. I'm a good student with a pretty high gpa and not once have I failed a class. Over 150 hours of homework only worth 10% of the grade. Hours spent studying only to receive maximum a 60%. If math is not your strong suit make sure you pick a good professor.

Grades consist of 4 exam grades 1 homework grade combining the 30+ homework assignments we did throughout the semester and 1 extra credit for attendance. Besides her awful grading, she only allows you to do problems the way she taught you. NOTHING ELSE. Do not take her!

If you do your homework, don't have more than 2 absences and be on time, but beware that she is hyper strict. You have to do everything her way. But other than that she is respected
