dreaded public speaking until after this class! she does take an attendance grade but it's fun to hear classmate's speeches. you do need the book to study for a couple of fill in the blank tests and quizzes. she is very helpful and explains clearly! Easy to make an A if you just follow instructions and go 2 class! One of the nicest ladies I've met

Ms. Kissinger is a wonderful woman. She cares about each student and wants to make everyone feel at home. She gives an outline for each speech. Follow it, & you're perfect. She deosn't like lectures, so she doesn't do them unless she has to. she usually does interactive classes to get you comfortable talking in front of people.

Good teacher. She gives you great feedback on your speech presentations and explains in detail what you need to correct.

She is literally the most amazing professor on campus. For starters she's a complete sweetheart and so passionate about what she does. Her work is very clear cut and if you just follow directions you will get an A. I would definitely recommend her and take again for any other course of the opportunity presented itself. TAKE HER!!!

She is a very sweet lady and she wants you to pass. She does not give lengthy lectures. A typical day will consist of some important information about public speaking and a fun activity to help you to feel comfortable presenting. Before this class I was EXTREMELY nervous to present but now it comes Natural. Follow the outlines and you will get an A

She is very good teacher. Syllabus tells you everything it's crystal clear. She is Pros All documents available on D2l If you are prepared you will do well in her class. Participation in university activity matters, She encourage you to participate in organization. If you do so then she will give you point which can be used in many ways.

Mrs. Kissinger is such a wonderful professor. She makes public speaking less awkward in the classroom setting. She clearly lays out the assignments and is very approachable if you have any questions. She understands that not everyone enjoys public speaking and takes that into account while teaching.

Professor Kissinger has been my favorite professor so far. She clearly tells you everything you need to do to make an A, and she grades very specifically. I made a 90 and above on all my speeches regardless of a little stuttering and being nervous! She cares a lot about her students and sends email reminders about things being due!

Absolute BEST professor ever! She makes a true connection with her students and genuinely cares. The class had a family atmosphere which is an unexpected find in universities.

Professor Kissinger was by far one of my favorite professors that Ive had MTSU so far. She loves her job and will work with you if you need it. She grades quickly. Attendance isnt REALLY mandatory but you should go because if you have more than 3 absences, you will have to make it up at the end of the semester. She is such a phenomenal professor!

Mrs. Kissinger is one of the best professors Ive had at MT. She follows her syllabus and notifies you of changes well in advance. She gives detailed descriptions of assignments and is accessible outside of class. Only used the textbook a few times in class so its not really necessary to buy.

I love Mrs. Kissinger! This is my 2nd time taking her class and she is such an wonderful lady and teacher. She truly cares about her students and their wellbeing. This is a more difficult class, but if you ask questions and for help, she is more than willing to do whatever she can for her students.

I love Ms Kissingers class! She is very sweet and her voice is pleasant so I don't get bored listening to her lectures. Stay till the very end and she will really make an impact on your life.

The actual work aspect of this class was difficult, but definitely worth it. I learned so much in this class that applies to many different careers, not just nonprofit work. This was a tough class, but Professor Kissinger was incredible. If we didn't understand something, she was patient and made sure we got it.

We are one month into the semester and so far, she is the ABSOLUTE SWEETEST LADY ON THE PLANET. Many of my friends recommended her for my public speaking class, and, because of her advice, I am less terrified of public speaking. Take her, I promise you won't regret it.

Mrs. Kissinger is one of the sweetest people ever!! She makes speech so much easier and does not grade hard at all during speeches. I'm so happy I chose to take her because she goes straight to the point and sometimes get to leave a couple minutes early. I wish she could teach all my other classes. 11/10 for sure.

I don't have one negative thing to say about Mrs. Kissinger! She turned me from someone who used to literally throw up before speaking in public to someone who confidently delivered speeches and even made 100s on them. I wish she taught more classes so I could have an opportunity to take her again.

Mrs. Kissinger is one of the most caring professors Ive had during my college career. She loves her students so much and really explains what she expects out of you. She gives you reliable feedback for each speech which is helpful. She also gives you the opportunity to skip the final exam if you attend 4 borderless for the arts meetings. The best!

Professor Kissinger is absolutely amazing!! By far one of my favorite teachers and classes I have taken at MTSU. I was so nervous to take this class but all the activities you do prior to your first speech helps you feel more comfortable being in front of an audience. 100% recommend taking her if you are nervous to take public speaking.

Lori Kissinger has by far been my favorite professor at MTSU. I have never met anyone that cares more about their students than she does. She is kind caring, understanding, and inspirational! I am definitely not a #1 fan of public speaking, but I would take this class a million times over if I had her as a professor.

Dr. Kissinger is genuinely the most caring and helpful professor I've ever had. I went into my communications class both terrible and terrified of public speaking, and left it confident in my ability to do public speaking and presentations for work and other classes. Old students drop in occasionally and will tell you the same thing. She is great!

Hands down the best teacher i've ever had. It's obvious she genuinely cares about each of her students & gets to know them. She is an excellent teacher & you will learn good communication skills in the most fun way. She get students involved and more comfortable with each other by games and fun activities. If you do the work, its an amazing class.

She managed to make a public speaking class fairly painless. 3 speeches and one group presentation, all of which have very clear criteria. She made me think about communication in ways I hadn't before, and she provided information about every assignment on D2L. She's great at making everyone comfortable, and I even got an internship because of her.

Professor Kissinger is an amazing teacher, the only reason people have difficulty in this class is because this class is a speech class, so you have to adjust to being able to speak in front of groups of people from 4 to 25. the more used to you are to that the better chance you have at getting a good grade. she will work with you and guide the way

Prof. Kissinger is an AMAZING professor!! She is the sweetest person and each class is great and not boring. You barely take any notes and if you go to the ambassador events than you do not take a final. Also, she only gives out 3 speech assignments and 1 group project. VERY EASY! JUST DO THE WORK.

I would take Lori Ann Kissinger for Communications online. She responds quickly to your emails and always gives feedback. Depending on what is going on, she usually offers some extra credit opportunities but they are all easy tasks. Most offered is up to 5 extra credit points. I would take her again. Definitely, an easy A if you put in the work.

Professor Kissinger was an amazing professor! There is only 3 speeches and a group project, and for someone who doesn't like group projects, it wasn't bad at all. She also gives lots of extra credit opportunities. You'll have weekly quizzes and discussion posts, but they're not hard either. They just take a little bit of time if you want to do well

I just wanted to add an updated review for 2021. I took her online Communications class and I LOVE IT. She is super detailed with feedback and she has many videos that explain the assignments. You have weekly quizzes and discussions, as well as a group project. There are 3 speeches that were super easy thanks to her. SHE DESERVES AN AWARD!

Professor Kissinger is AMAZING!! I took online COMM 2200 and she made the class so organized and simple. There are quizzes each week but if you read the chapters in the books you will do very well. She grades super quick and gives GREAT feedback. She is so kind and offers A TON of extra credit. One of my favorite professors by far.

If you are going to take a speech class, try to take her class because she is an inspirational, kind, and understanding human being that will recognize your work as long as you try your best. You don't just get a good grade, but you earn courage for yourself by improving speech after speech with her enormous help. TAKE HER CLASS

You need to read the textbook. Every week there's a quiz and the answers are directly from the chapters. I would take the quiz and skim through the chapter for key words. Speeches are easy. Final project is a big one. Work together with classmates. I could've gotten an A if I did better for the quizzes. Very nice and caring teacher. Great class!

Her grading is very clear for all speeches and outlines. Honestly, the best instructor hands-down in my opinion. She is accessible if you have questions, willing to do a zoom one-on-one or simply responds back to emails. Her assignments are fun and creative, and after a semester of her course, I am a bit more comfortable in public speaking.

I cannot say enough nice things about Dr. Kissinger. She gives amazing feedback and very clearly has a desire for everyone in the class to succeed. She creates a positive learning environment that also allows for individual expression and group discussion to express your opinions and learn from your peers. I never felt overwhelmed in this class.

Professor Kissinger is awesome! She is very helpful and if you do the assigned work there is no reason you should come out with anything other than an A.

I don't believe anyone could teach this course as well as Professor Kissinger does. I have always been terrified of speeches, but she made me feel so comfortable. Her feedback is so helpful and she's very motivating. The best professor you will ever take!

Professor Kissinger was so kind, even though this was an online course! She usually responded to emails within like ten minutes! Gives great feedback and truly wants to see you succeed. I hated giving speeches but her tips helped a lot! We read from "The Art of Public Speaking" which was a well-organized and helpful book. Great professor! Take her!

Overall fairly easy course. There are three major assignments and one group project. There are quiz and discussion post assignments usually due on Friday nights at 5pm. She offers good feedback and grades pretty fairly. I would recommend this course.

I couldn't have asked for a better professor or easier Comm class. 4 speeches,1 as a group project. You get to pick your own topics. Super easy discussion posts and quizzes every week that a speech isn't due. I honestly forget I'm taking this class sometimes just because it requires so little effort. Very nice and understanding, lots extra credit!

Wonderful professor. A lot of work, but she's an easy grader. Easy weekly discussion posts, open-book quizzes, 1 group project, and 3 speeches. She gave detailed feedback for every assignment and always had encouraging words. Very sweet & cares about her students. My advice is to use TikTok video editor to add in visual aids to your speech.

Great professor! Course is mostly discussion posts, creating a logo, mission statement, board list, bylaws, grant budget and an EXL event. Course was not difficult to navigate and Professor Kissinger provided great feedback. She is very caring and responsive. I loved having her as a professor! Take any class she offers, you will not regret it!

I loved this professor because the class was not hard at all and she cares a lot about your grades. She set emails all the time to remind you about due dates and opportunities for extra credit, or to be able to get out of doing other assignments. There is 3 speeches that are super easy, and quizzes and discussion boards each week that are easy.

10 modules, each with a discussion board and quiz. 1 group project, 3 speeches. Tons of extra credit opportunities. She sends out a lot of emails about due dates and what needs to be done each week. It's almost impossible to fail. Very sweet lady.

Professor Lori is one of the best! The class includes three speech videos, weekly quizzes, discussion posts, and an easy group project. The workload is very manageable, she's a fair grader, offers lots of extra credit, and is super understanding. Highly recommend her class!

Class had a total of 3 speeches and a discussion/quiz with each module. She provides you with videos and sample. Don't buy the textbook; find the PDF.

This class was really easy even though sometimes it's hard to follow. You don't have to put in much effort to get an A.

She is a caring professor and gives extra credit. This class was time-consuming for me because of the textbook reading every week, quizzes, and discussion posts. As long as you stay caught up and put several hours aside every week, you will do great.
