Best teacher I have ever had! Lori is not only highly intelligent, thoughtful, and creative, but also humorous and pleasent to be around. Her lectures are motivating and helpful; her methods - unbeatable in origanality, clarity, and amusment. I highly recommend Lori for a fun and meaningfull class!

She is such an awesome teacher. I took her creative writing class just as an elective without a desire to write when I entered the class, but she makes you fall in love with writing all over again. Not strict, very laid back. Very easy class!!!

She is a very laid back and upbeat professor. She's very flexible with due dates and doesn't put you under too much pressure. In addition, she actually does teach you a bit about writing. Overall, her class was easy yet worthwhile, as she's a pretty good professor.

Mrs. Cornelius is an awesome professor!!! She is laid back and is willing to help any way she can. Class is very easy, but you also learn a lot. Take her for whatever class you can!

There is a lot of required reading for each class and she quizzes on the material but if you read, you ace the quizzes. She is a good teacher and makes things interesting and easy to relate to.

Willing to help if she thinks your someone who is actually interested in her class. She helped me with my final grade and bumped me up to a B. She is a great teacher.

Honestly one of the best teachers I have ever had. She totally keeps the class involved with discussions about the reading and it was actually really inspiring. There is a fair amount of reading from the book..but its all short stories. She is the sweetest lady ever..and totally willing to help through all the assignments!

She was actually pretty good, very helpful and clear on assignments. Very east to get an "A". Just read the short stories and do the essays and the journal entries online and you'll be fine.

Awsome teacher! theres no tests and only quizes if no one read. All essays are mostly about what you want to write about which makes it so easy! Journal entries every other week but pretty easy and simple. NO FINAL or MIDTERM!

I hated reading literature before taking her class, and now I LOVE it! There are quizzes every week, but if you read they're easy. If you don't understand the material, she's willing to help you out. If you read and go to class, it's an easy A. I would totally recommend her!

I loved this class. She is very helpful and funny and her class is really mellow. Read the stories because there is a quiz every class and if you read it's an easy A. No essays, one easy group project and the midterm was really easy. I would definitely recommend her!

She is really caring of her students and really easy to understand. She will stay after class and set up meetings if you ever need help. She can forget to put in grades at times, so make sure you check yours frequently. Overall, great teacher, would recommend to anyone.

Great professor! Had her for Composition I and II, Nature Writing, and Colloquium. She expects you to do well and she is available to help students! In a great class for Summer C Colloquium. Some of the readings, I admit, were hard, but do-able. When you take Colloquium, get your 10 hours done EARLY!

I had her for Comp I and Comp II, she is the best professor at FGCU for sure. She is extremely helpful, funny, and intelligent. She is a very fair grader and she makes class entertaining and fun! Take whatever class you can with her, you won't regret it!

I used to hate American Liteature, but she made it so much fun!She really gets to know the students too. She memorizes all of the student's names no matter how many there are. She is my favorite professor!

Best professor ive ever had. To me literature was always one of the most boring subjects but she made coming to class enjoyable. She cares about your grades and will work with you non stop to get you where you want to be gradewise. I plan on taking every english/lit credit that i need as a student in one of her classes

Professor Cornelius is the best teacher/professor I've ever had. Her teaching style is in depth and INCREDIBLY (emphasis on "incredibly" beyond caps) involved. She catches your interest and seems to care about her students. I intend to become an English major (due timely to her) and take her for as many credits as possible.

The class was pretty easy compared to what I have heard from other creative writing professors. The book is mandatory she had you do daily readings. She may quiz you on it, but we've only had 2 quizes that she didnt even put on gulfline. Weekly daily entries which are really easy because its of a free write you did in class.EASY CLASS!

FairyTalesLit - LOVED HER, I wish she was offering colloq so I could take it with her. LOVES participation and is always available to help. I was out sick at the end of the semester and she was on the phone with me helping me with my paper so I could get caught up, I wish more professors were like her. Made the class so interesting & fun to take:)

The literature can either be really boring or really interesting, but she is a really nice person who will answer all of your questions, and you can learn a lot from the class. :)

She is an awesome professor who is very humorous and easy to talk to. The class, Effective Learning, was the most pointless class i have ever taken. Pretty much a waste of my money. Any other class taught by her i would suggest, but don't waste your time or money on Effective Learning.

(Folk & Fairytale class) Easily one of the best professors at FGCU. Go to class and read the textbook and you will learn a lot and succeed. She's always willing to help and is very interesting once you get to know her!

Lori is simply brilliant. She is so passionate about the class she makes you want to read too. She is always in a good mood, so approachable and friendly. I loved her class! The only not-so-good part is she gives quizzes almost every day to make sure you read.

I learned so much in this class; enjoyed every minute. Yeah, it's a literature course, so of course you better be ready to read! (Student who complained can't be serious.) Cornelius gives great insights and she tries all kinds of ways to get students involved in discussions. Take her for creative writing, too, if you can get in.

Professor Cornelius is definitely one of my favorites! She is so kind and willing to help. She has a passion for what she is teaching and makes the class fun, interesting and enjoyable. If you go to class, complete the reading assignments, participate in discussions, and turn in your work on time you'll have no problem with this course!

Professor Cornelius has a very warm and inviting character. She loves what she teaches which makes it more interesting to learn. I took her Folk and Fairy Tale class and learned so much. Her lectures are very interesting, and she loves when her students participate in discussion. We watched movies and did creative assignments that were enjoyable.

She is hands down, the best professor I have taken so far at FGCU and I try to take every class she teaches. She works with her students and extends assignment due dates when need be because she understands that we are all human. She answers back to every email and is an all around great person.

Hands down one of the best and most supportive teachers I've ever had. She really believes in and cares about her students. The readings were many, but it is well worth it to read them. Most can be found online, so textbook might not be MANDATORY. Understands that you have other classes and will push due dates. Or not have midterm/final.

I took folk and fairytale with Cornelius online, and I loved the class. She's an easy teacher, but she words the assignments weirdly and it makes them hard to comprehend. There was alot of homework each week, but if you do it and give some sort of effort, than an A is easy to get. You're also required to buy movies for some assignments, so beware.

This is one of my favorite professors!!! She makes her class very interesting and fun I was actually going to take another class with her. You only have to write two major essays and then theres some quizzes on readings. She gives great feedback and gives you many opportunities to fix your writing. 10/10

Professor Cornelius is an amazing professor. She is very passionate about what she teaches and it makes her class fun and interesting. Her class is very laidback, simply read the readings and participate in discussions and you will be fine. There are two minimum four page essays due, she meets with you and helps you do as good as possible. Great!

Very chill and caring teacher. I am taking another class with her again next semester because she is amazing. Three papers all semester and no exams or tests. The readings are great and overall the class was very easy to pass.

She is a great professor! I took the online folk and fairy tale version which is super fun if you enjoy that kind of material. She wants her students to do well and cares about the subject that she is teaching. There are many quizzes and discussions, but if you read and do the assignments throughout the week they are not difficult. Very easy A.

I would 100% recommend this class to others! It is not an overly difficult course as long as you do all of the assigned things each week. It can take some time to get through the module for the week but if you read and take good notes it will help for the quizzes and midterm/final.

Professor Cornelius is great! Every week we either had a quiz, discussion board post, or some written response. I took the fairy tale version and the stories were very entertaining. Thought I wouldn't enjoy this class, but it is now one of my favorite classes I have taken. Would recommend this class to anyone.

Professor Cornelius is a good professor, however, she is not very well put together. We started off the semester with one thing and ended with something different. Her syllabus and expectations aren't very clear, however, she is an easy grader. If you show up to class you'll be fine! She makes the class fun and easy.

Lori Cornelius is a very passionate and caring profressor. She prepares class everyday with an embedded powerpoint with fun writing exercises and activities. She also allows us to meditate at the start of every class. She cares about her students, and although there is a lot of writing involved, it's different and amusing and she is always helpful

I really enjoyed taking this course with Professor Cornelius. Since the theme of the course was folk and fairy tales, we read a lot of fairy tales, and they were actually very interesting and enjoyable to read. Every week, she made us read a few fairy tales, take a quiz, and do a short assignment based on what we read.

I took professor Cornelius for her Folk and Fairy Tales course and for the most part really enjoyed it. The stories you will read are pretty interesting, but make sure you do read them and TAKE NOTES ON THE POWER POINTS!! The quizzes and midterm/final were pretty easy as long as you took good notes. Only downside is she would upload modules late.

I can't remember if I already rated Lori on here but i might as well do it again because she is awesome and super sweet and an absolute gem. She encourages and critiques and really helps build a fun writerly community in her classes. Effort and passion rank higher than technical accuracy and she is always there to support! I love her!

I just started college and she made it really easy to get through it so quickly. For my first online class, it was not so bad. She is one of the nicest people I have met. Mrs. Cornelius chooses assignments that are actually interesting and worth doing.

Professor Cornelius provided interesting information, concerning the topic intro to Literature. Was taken to satisfy humanities requirements. The focus of the course was folklore and fairytales, and professor Cornelius presented the information in an easy-to-read and understand format. The course kept me interested, and the readings kept me hooked.

Professor Cornelius is very nice. Ive had her a few times as my professor and I would definitely recommend taking her courses. Her class is about what you would expect in an English class. Good amount of work but as long as you turn everything in you will pass the class.

Read writing fiction write like 3 analtical pieces and 3 creative then you workshop piece. Particpate and send in your feedback in a timly manner. Not the week for the piece is due. Youll get an A. She is so much fun and if you have her for night classes does potluck meals and people bring in money and sh'll order pizza or chinnese.

Cornelius is a great professor and is very caring of her students. She understands the difficulty of balancing academics and life outside of it. She takes a little longer to grade and give feedback but other than that she is a sweet person. Also gives extra credit if you attend any of the storytelling events.

She's a great professor! One thing that was more Hurricane Ian's fault than Lori's is that we didn't receive feedback on two creative assignments, but we did in workshop. Lori made herself available to us and her enthusiasm for the material and class was clear. It was quite a bit of work, but she's willing to help you manage the class and succeed.

I'm taking her folk and fairy tales Intro to Literature class. This class is easy as long as you do the readings and watch her lectures. All of the quiz answers came from readings and lectures. The readings were fun to be honest. You watch about 2 movies that are fun and attention catching. TAKE HER!! She loves what she teaches

The class content was random but enjoyable. She takes a while to grade but it's understandable. You have like 15-20 pages to read every week and a couple of lectures to watch. There is also a weekly quiz but it can be done pretty quickly as long as you read. There are also sometimes writing assignments but they are usually a paragraph or two.

Online Fairy Tale Literature class. Super easy, a few short essay questions, quizzes about the readings, short lectures. I spent less than 2 hours a week on homework. Professor Cornelius made this gen ed very interesting and enjoyable. Would recommend.

Professor Cornelius is hilarious and you can tell that she cares about her students. Her class is enjoyable and she grades pretty nicely. As long as you follow the rubric and turn it in on time, you are sure to get an A!

AMAZING! If she is available, take her. Only about one assignment weekly and journal entries due every so often. Very easy assignments, was able to get each weeks' load of work done in an hour or two max every Sunday night. She is very forgiving and understanding to situations when emailing her. Took this as a filler class and was very happy.

Professor Cornelius is one of the sweetest professors I have ever had. The folk and fairytales course was so enjoyable and informative. I took this as a filler course but it was a nice break from the rest of my STEM course load. The course majorly consists of quizzes and writing assignments but they are generally simple. Highly recommend!
