Good prof overall...nice, organized, etc. My only complaint is that she teaches so many classes AND is an adviser AND does whatever else at the college so she really doesn't ever remember me. Sometimes her email responses seem like they were meant for someone else as they had nothing to do with what I had asked her. Overall I like her though.
I had her for 2 classes online and they were well set up with lots of useful information in the slides however she is VERY slow on returning grades on assignments. Grading is fair though.
She had NO interest whether you pass or fail. Never responds, and when she does its one sentence. I failed a paper because it wasn't in the right order although all the information was there and there were no grammar errors. It was my last class and she was the worst teacher I've ever had. Had to call her boss constantly to keep her accountable.
I really enjoyed her class. it was pretty easy just hated cumulative exams. but still its not all that hard. class isnt mandatory she doesnt take attedance and reads off slides but i enjoy going so i go but must take if you need a nutrition class :)
Loved her!!! She was very nice and helpful when I had questions. She reads right from the slides so at times it's boring. Gives extra credit blogs all the time. Gives online quizzes before every test and the questions are similar to the ones on the test. Doesn't take attendance (but I was in a class of 350). Gives a study guide before tests to know what to focus on. The only bad thing about the tests is they are cumulative so you have to know all the material she teaches through the semester.
She is not helpful, and doesn't care whether you pass or fail. Has no interest in your opinion. She will answer every question you ask with maybe 2 words. The class is watered down, yet the quiz & test are hard. I wont take her again.
Her lectures are really vague and make it seem like you don't need to know a lot and then the tests and quizzes are very detailed and hard. It was hard to understand the material. I thought this was going to be an easy enjoyable class, but it wasn't. I wouldn't take her again.
Exams are cumulative which makes it really hard to take the tests, but I liked the professor, and liked the class.
DO NOT TAKE under any circumstances. Every single test was cumulative and all she did was read straight from the slides. Was not helpful at all. Yes, she gave bonus points but it wasn't enough to make up for her impossibly difficult tests (ESPECIALLY the final). Yes, she was nice but in the end if she can't teach it doesn't matter. DO NOT TAKE.
She was actually really annoying and accused my friend of cheating on an online quiz (what.) her tests are cumulative which made them somewhat difficult BUT as long as you study the powerpoints youll be fine. Somehow pulled an A+ because her online quizzes and the one project was worth so much. I didnt care much for her but the class was fine
Super easy class, only once a week. She does take attendence in this course though and it is part of your grade.
I would recommend this class. You really don't have to go to class, but if you go every now and then you'll do better. The tests are what make this class challenging. The project and quizzes help you out a lot so DO THEM. Overall it's easy to get an A.
Go to class, sit in the front, and you will make an A no doubt.
This class was really easy. She reads straight from the slides which are also online. It's a pretty interesting class. There's a big project but it's also really easy! Take this class if you need a nutrition class.
This class was relatively easy, except for memorizing all of the vitamins and minerals. Other than that, I highly recommend this class. She puts the notes online for later use and reads straight from them and explains everything in class. You don't really have to attend class, but if you do, you're sure to get a higher grade.
love this woman! she's very fun, knowledgable about her subject, always willing to help, super sweet, and understanding all the time! her tests are a lil challenging and are comprehensive for the most part. Though I would highly recommend her for any nutrition class you can take!! This is the type of woman who will help you succeed!!!
VERY easy class for the most part. The second test was kinda hard but other than that its easy if you go to class. It's interesting too. I would definitely recommend this class
She is really nice and there is a lot of extra credit. Attendance isn't mandatory but she does random attendance extra credit points. On Fridays there are online quizzes and no class. Quizzes are easy and so are the tests. Easy A
Such a nice person. Reads straight from lecture notes (also on blackboard) and explains them really well. She randomly takes attendance now, so you should go to class or you lose points. Class goes by fast, and it's actually interesting. Tests are from her notes, but you need the book's access code for online quizzes. Study and you'll get an A.
easy-- go to class and do the quizzes… huge grade booster
Very easy class if you try. She gives tons of extra credit opportunities so take advantage of those. Tests can be difficult but they are not weighted much at all. DO THE QUIZZES. Extreme grade booster. Such a nice lady!
Harder class than I had expected
Dr. Greene is a great professor. The material she presented was appropriate for an intro class and she covered all material that appeared on each exam. The topics were interesting and the final project where we analyzed our diet was eye-opening. If you have to take NHM 101, I highly recommend Dr. Greene.
Mrs. Greene is one of my favorite profs at UA. I always looked forward to going to her class because she kept it fun with activities and the lectures were never boring. She is very easy to reach outside of class if you ever need help. Take this class, you won't regret it!
I was not interested in the material at all, so that made it tough for me to want to be there. Her tests are really tough, but the assignments are easy so those can easily balance each other out. Her lectures are long and boring. I wouldn't take her again unless I had no other option.
She's a good teacher and I would take her again
Do not wait to start on the dietary analysis project nor wait to start studying for the vitamin and mineral test. There is a lot of memorization but non of the material itself is difficult. You get 5 points for every class you attend and its out of 50 in the grade book so if you go every time she takes attendance ex credit. Material is practical
She was nice, the class was pretty easy, and she seemed to mean well but changed the grading scale so that the "minuses" were a bigger margin than usual, and made the final exam cumulative. She gives "participation points" randomly in class some days, and some days doesn't; this ends up being about 15 of your grade so attendance is mandatory. but
Greene is AWESOME! I am very interested in Nutrition so it was interesting to me, but she is very clear in what she wants you to do and she will help you pass. There was plenty of opportunities available for extra points.
Easy class and good teacher! Even though its an 101 class you still need to put effort in and study for the tests.
She is a good teacher and is very knowledgeable on Nutrition. Had the class three times a week but only met twice a week. She gives extra credit and easy assignments and her lectures are interesting. Tests are not too difficult if you study some. (5 tests and 2 projects, online easy quizzes) I would definitely recommend taking one of her classes!
She's super nice, huge lecture but she gives assignments in class for attendance credit.
NHM 195 is quite possibly the easiest class I've ever taken. I often forgot I even had the class. I didn't miss class, but it was hardly any work. It is great for nutrition majors to learn what all you can do with your degree and hear from dietitians in different fields. Great and easy class. Went by like a breeze.
Very sweet lady with easy tests and lectures.
awesome teacher, strict but fair!! I would take a class with her again!
Make sure you attend class regularly to get participation points that are required for your grade. Getting by without reading the textbook is possible as long as you know the information in the powerpoint well.
Great overall teacher. Study hard for the test and you will be fine. Taking her next semester for 315!
Tests are easy if you study from her power points. She offers lots of extra credit! Very easy nutrition class and actually learned a lot that I can use in my everyday life.
She wasn't a bad teacher, just a lot of material. Lectures were pretty boring though, i barely could stay awake. Go to class, the participation grades help.
She can be very rude when you meet with her in private and wouldn't let me make up an exam even when I had an excuse from a doctor. Also her lectures make you want to actually pull all your hair out.
Way too hard for a 101 class. The tests contain way too much material, and she is not very specific on what to study. Must study A LOT to pass this class. Otherwise, she is a nice person and her lectures are not awful. Be prepared to work hard for your grade. Can get away with skipping every so often, as long as u get the notes from a friend
You will have to work in this class. Pretty hard for a 101 class. Class isn't mandatory, but she does give a ton of in class assignments that are for credit. FOLLOW DIRECTIONS ON PROJECTS. Tests are decently hard. She posts all lectures online after each class which is nice. She is difficult to work with if you need to makeup a test.
I really liked her. The lectures can get to be a little long, but it's an easy A. She tells you exactly what you need to know for the tests on review days.
This class is way to complicated for a 101 class. The TA we had was terrible; when she lectured she would go through the power point in 15 minutes and be done. Nothing was clearly explained and they study guides for the tests didn't represent the material that was on the test.
Great professor. Spends time to make sure you actually LEARN! If you don't make an A you're trying not to.
Overall an easy class. Her lectures are long, but she usually posts them online after class. She doesn't really give study guides but does give several extra credit opportunities. Go to class to get the participation points and study the powerpoints. Follow the directions on the online assignments. Easy A if you try
Don't bother buying the book. Just memorize her notes (she also posts them online). Offers tons of extra credit. You get 5 points for every class you attend (maximum of 60 points) so attendance isn't mandatory but very beneficial to your grade. Exams are relatively easy.
Mrs. Greene is a really good instructor. I've had her for two larger classes but she is definitely an instructor you should try to meet with. She has a lot of experience and a big network to help you pursue your goals.
The tests and quizzes went by the lecture so as long as you pay attention and take notes, you're fine. The only thing I really hated about this class was the amount of discussion posts that were required, I personally didn't get much out of them so they were more like pointless busy work than anything else.
This class is such an easy A. Go to class, because there will be many extra credit opportunities throughout the semester. Lori cancels class quite often and the quizzes are open-note and online. There is so many opportunities for extra credit so there is no excuse for not getting an A. I would highly recommend this course and this teacher.
TAKE HER. TONS OF EXTRA CREDIT IF YOU ARE WILLING TO DO IT. Very easy class and Mrs. Greene is amazing.
Decent teacher and overall easy class! My only complaint is that she emphasized that you HAD to have the textbook.....I never opened it once. All tests and quizzes are based off her PowerPoints so save some money & dont bother buying the book
MAKE SURE YOU DO EXTRA CREDIT and you will be fine... tests can be kinda hard and because it's such a big class it's hard to pay attention but there are a lot of opportunities to get points so do the assignments to get points and you will be fine.
Lori is a great professor and genuinely cares about her students. She's always willing to meet with you outside of class to go over tests or assignments. Attendance isn't mandatory, but go to class because she gives a lot of extra credit and info in class that help with the tests! Stay on top of the notes and you'll do fine!
The 3 exams tested whether or not you could recall random bullet points from the notes; they never tested on big-picture ideas. Lots of needless memorization. There are journals each week and an occasional online quiz or dietary analysis. Her lectures consist of her reading from a PowerPoint, but she gives lots of extra credit if you go to class.
Mrs. Greene is a great teacher and makes it easy for students to get an A or A+ if they are willing to put in a little effort. She gives out so much extra credit and uploads all of her slides. Tests aren't hard if you come to class or just study her slides online.
She makes this class so easy if you just show up. She gives out study guides for the exams, which come straight from the notes. Extra credit is given out during class all the time you just have to be in class to do it. She'll answer and help you with anything you're confused about.
Professor Greene is an alright professor, her tests are on lots of small details that someone would basically have to have memorized the entire powerpoint to know. Tests are pretty difficult for a 101 class, but other assignments are weighted almost the same amount. Gives extra credit randomly in class that will help. Overall she's okay but not gr8
She gives so much extra credit which is super helpful because her exams are pretty specific and hard to memorize information for. In my opinion, she talked a little too fast, but all the powerpoints are posted on Blackboard so I could copy from there. Really easy class.
Mrs. Greene is a pretty good prof, she gives out a ton of extra credit if you show up to class. The tests are kind of specific but if you study the study guides and the powerpoints online, theres enough points on other assignments to make an A.
NEVER went to class and got an A, if I would have taken advantage of all her extra credit opportunities I would've had an A+. Quizzes are online and open note, questions are super easy. Project is easy just takes time to do it. Discussion post due every Friday, also super easy. Test are fairly easy also, just read her powerpoints and do the review!
Class was super boring & lecture heavy but easy. DON'T buy the book! You'll only use it twice and it's for extra credit. She gives LOTS of extra credit. You don't have to show up for class to pass but that's the only way you'll get extra credit & it definitely helps. I failed every test except 1, and still passed with a B+. So do the extra credit.
very easy class and the tests arent graded very heavily. if you do bad on a test you can easily keep an A as long as you do the homework and extra credit.
Loved her. This class is super easy. I never went to class except for test and occasionally extra credit. Easy A for sure.
This class is super easy. There's homework due every Friday but it's an easy 100. All of the notes are posted on blackboard, so technically you don't even need to go to class. But, she does give extra credit opportunities if you're in class.
Mrs. Greene is a really nice professor who cares about her student's success. It is not completely necessary to attend class because she posts her slides, but going to class made the tests relatively easy. Also, she offers a ton of extra credit, but you need to be in class to get it. The online homework is quick & easy.
Ms Green is very knowledgeable, so her lectures are fairly interesting. If you pay attn in class and do your hw on time youll be fine. Tests are easy. The only thing is there are 2-3 weekly assignments and you have to keep up with them bc they dont open up until the week theyre due so you cant get ahead. Also has in class assignments.
Mrs. Greene was a great professor for Nutrition. All of her slides/notes are posted, but there are in class assignments that count for 25% of your grade I think is what it is. She offers lots of extra credit opportunities as well. Definitely take Mrs. Greene!!
Lori Greene is a great professor! You have weekly assignments due that count for a lot of your grade but they aren't too difficult. She also gives out a ton of extra credit! Her tests aren't super difficult as long as you study the material from the power points, & it can be a lot. But, she's really wants you to learn & does her best to teach you!
Mrs. Greene is an amazing professor who really wants her students to succeed. The tests come straight from the powerpoints which are posted online. Even though you can get the notes by not going to class, she takes attendance which counts for a good part of your grade. Gives tons of extra credit too. Study hard for the tests and you'll be fine.
Love Mrs. Greene and this class! She has a lot of experience and makes it interesting. Attendance isn't mandatory but she does class points for those who do show up. Graded mainly on group project, meal planning, and group tests. I would highly recommend this class for an easy A and fun part of your class schedule!
This class took attendance by random in class assignments. There were many days that the teacher did not show up to class and she made the TA give an in class attendance assignment. It was basically an online self taught class that you had to still show up to a lecture for. The lectures weren't helpful and the test were somewhat difficult
Mrs. Greene is an awesome teacher that is great teaching the lectures and makes class interesting. She's super laid back and understands most students have heavy work loads. So easy to make an A in this class if you just go to class an complete the weekly assignment. She gives SO much extra credit!!
The only reason you have to be in class is to complete in class assignments (that are almost always on the schedule) or for extra credit assignments. All of the homework is super easy if you go over the powerpoint, plus you get two tries. Definitely study for exams, but she gives study guides and tells you what you need to know. She's the best!
Really knowledgeable of nutrition, eager to teach. Attendance isnt mandatory but she always gives snippets that arent in online notes that are important to test
Mrs. Greene is an amazing and caring professor! There's only 1-2 homework assignments online every week, LOTS of extra credit, a few larger assignments (all super easy), 3 tests, and a final. Even though attendance isn't mandatory, she occasionally gives in class assignments that are basically free points. Please take her if you can!!
Ms. Greene is great. She cares so much about her students and wants us all to do well in her classes. If you show up to class, take notes, and study those you'll get an A. She's very clear with points, grading, tests, assignments, etc. Her classes have all been fun and enjoyable. I've learned so much from her. Go to class for extra credit.
Professor Greene is very respected in her field. She was very nice and gives a lot of extra credit for participation in class. She is not super passionate about what she teaches some days and can get a little monotone because of it. I would recommend her because I feel like she is your best option. This class is easy if you put in minimal effort.
Professor Greene is an awesome professor. She gives lots of extra credit opportunities and the test arent too bad as long as you watch the lectures. I would definitely take her if you can its an easy A.
This class is an easy A and professor Greene is a really good teacher!! Attendance isn't mandatory, but she gives random assignments throughout the week, which basically makes attendance mandatory. Tests are pretty straight forward if you study the slideshows and the reviews. As long as you try in this class you should easily make an A.
She was a very kind and understanding teacher. I missed two of the test makeup days, and she still let me re-take my test. Attendance isn't totally mandatory, but she will give out participation assignments randomly throughout the semester so you might as well just go to her class. Tests aren't bad as long as you review the information well.
very easy a. she does in class participation assignments for attendance but once you have 10, you really don't need to go to class. never studied for exams and always made an a. projects are easy.
The class was more taught by GAs and TAs on a pHd track.
Class wasn't bad, but if you want a professor who is nice to you when you ask for help or go to her, then do not take this class.
Professor green is awesome and a very easy Prof. She offers lots of EC many times throughout the semester. Her homework's are very easy and you can find the answers online. The tests and final were online for me and she made them easy and had reviews before each exam. She is accessible outside of class and cares about her students.
no. just no.
she sucks
I took this class with the expectation that it would help my GPA. I could not have been more wrong. From mandatory attendance, to BORING lectures, lori greene has successfully made this semester more difficult than it needed to be. Those who took her last year said she did not make them go to class and gave straight forward exams. #Shesucks.
THIS CLASS IS SO HARD
this class is horrible, I do not receive C's on exams until this professor became a part of my life. Her "practice exams" and "study guides" give no insight to what is going to be on the exam.. She lives to trick us and make our gpas plummet. Do not take professor greene.
Tests are heavy, but she is a great professor
I liked her! Yes, you have a decent amount of homework, but if you miss an assignment you can make it up at the end of the semester. She also gives extra credit and study guides for the tests. She is a really nice lady, and her test were not extremely hard as long as you studied a little bit for them. Overall, I thought she was a good professor!
she really was not that bad. yes attendance counts but you also get like 7 free absesnces. very easy to do well if you put in just a little bit of effort.
Very easy class, and very nice teacher. Tests are online, and there's only a few assignments each week. Gives in class participation that counts for a lot of your grade, so you need to go to class. The material is easy to understand. Class is designed to be easy, and she's a really nice and caring person. Would highly recommend.
Lori Green is an awesome nutrition teacher! She gives so much extra credit and her test are super easy. Most stuff is from the power points she gives. She is very nice and wants everyone to do well in her class. She takes attendance everyday but you only need to be there 7 times out of the times she takes attendance.
BEST TEACHER EVER!!!!! She does random in-class assignments for attendance, but she is super easy to predict when she does them. I have over 50 points of extra credit and am ending with over a 100% in the class. All tests are online. She holds help sessions in class, it's a free day to skip class. super easy A+!!!! all assignments are also online
I would highly recommend her for NHM 101! Online assignments every week but super easy and if you missed one she opens them back up at the end to do. All tests were online including final. Attendance was random so I would go but multiple extra credit opportunities if you go to class the class before a test and some days classes were optional.
Loved professor Greene. The class can get a little repetitive, but do not listen to bad reviews she is great definitely take her if you can. She will help you if you need it and loves to talk and connect with students.
I took this class online for summer 1 interim. She is a great professor and will give you feedback on papers. Class is super easy to pass as long as you do the work. This class had Midterm and Final exam that were proctored. Exams were a little difficult but easy to recover your grade. Extra credit is given at the end of semester if complete SOI.
Go to class, she has attendance assignments every lecture. Tests are open book but you still need to study because you only have 50 mins to take them. If you go to class and study you'll get an A.
Professor Greene is an engaging instructor who makes this class quite manageable. While attendance is mandatory, there are ample extra credit opportunities. I found Unstuckstudy really helpful for staying on top of the material.
Lessons were thorough, and tests were straightforward and easy. However, I felt Dr. Greene lacked basic empathy when dealing with emergency-related absence.
UA 101. Disney class. Super entertaining and overall just extremely enjoyable. She made the class just wonderful overall. I would take this legends course again if I could. No tests or exams, just fun little quizzes. Just go to class, and you should get an A+.
