Summer class, so fairly intense. Lots of internet reading to supplement text. Responsive to questions and gives feed back on first board posts so you know what she needs you to improve on. Good course, especially for soc sci majors.

Prof. Hockerson is a very hard grader but a very efficent teacher. She is very helpful and make you feel comfortable. But be prepared to do the work, if you did not do the read I feel sorry for you. Put in the effort and you will succeed in this class.

shes a good teacher. she has one huge flaw. i cannot understand how she grades. you write a good paper and you get low points. you write a mediocre paper and get a high grade! AAAAHHHHHHH

She uses Blackboard, so be prepared to spend time doing work away from the class-room. She also conducts quizzes online as well. I liked her teaching, just time consuming with Blackboard.

Lori is SO cool and funny. Her class is laid out really simply, and it's practically impossible to fail. She's the coolest.

This is a college class folks, you have to work to learn. Lori's lectures are excellent, and assignments are designed to strongly reinforce the material. If go to class and do your part this will be an excellent experience!

I took this course online summer of 06. This class demands your effort. Online courses are not for everyone. Do exaclty what is on the outline and follow the schedule, you will earn the grade you want based upon your effort. Professor Hokerson provides an education from a professional and a passionate view of the subject. Choose this professor!!!!

She is a very hard teacher but if u put in the work u will do ok in her class.

A time consuming online class. You have to be self disciplined and motivated to get through. She gives a lot of interesting web sites and articles to read which add to the extensive reading from the text. I don't agree with her choice to take a vacation during midterm time. You work hard for an A and you learn a ton.

I am in the online class. The directions are very confusing, but you get the hang of it after a couple of weeks. There is definately a lot of reading, but as long as you have your book and computer you'll be okay. I recommend the class for those who cannot attend the class ate the college.

(online course) I got an A, so that means you can too. Study everything on her study guides and read read read. The weekly discussions/responses were fun, and you're only required to do 8 out of 16 weeks (no other homework). Lori is great, and returns questions via email and D2L very fast! You must be very disciplined to do this at home!

Took online course Spring semester and liked it more than expected. Quizzes and exams were mostly from book and not too difficult. Hard to tell how weekly participation was graded and what was an "A" post/response. If you read and understand the book, you should pass without difficulty. Be very concise on midterm and final exam questions.

She is a fun teacher, but you shouldn't take this class if your academic load is heavy. A lot of study time and online devotion is required.

This was my favorite class. The class discussions were great, and really made me think. I learned more about myself than anything else. Test are easy only if you take really great notes. The class activities and projects make you learn in a totally non-linear way. Lori is amazing! Be prepared for everything you think you know to be challenged.

Online Class had an exact schedule of what's expected when and plenty of resources (additional reading is just that ADDITIONAL if you don't understand something). She gives you study guides that tell you EXACTLY what is on the tests/quizzes - all you have to do is study them. If that is too tough, then you shouldn't be taking up my parking.

The class is interesting. Good conversations while in class. The tests are hard. They are on-line but you have too many sources to consider for your answers. Some of the test questions are hard to figure out. Had 3 projects in this class, all due in the first 2 months. A lot of work and reading but you do learn a lot.

The class is really hard being uploaded with a lot of assignments. You'll have to wright few projects and it feels like you are carrying two classes instead of one. Tests are hard. But in class you'll have fun - professor is interesting and really nice. She is very helpful and fair. Almost all tests questions are in her lectures. Take notes!

This is a hard class, no question about it. You have to show up to class and take notes. The tests are all online so you have access to your book and notes. There is a high workload, but this is COLLEGE after all. I really enjoyed the class and the teacher. I got an A in the class so its possible.

Her policies and guidelines are strict but if you just do as it follow you will pass. In the beginning of the semester thought she gives out loads of work but afterall its not that heavy. learned lots of things about the multicultural I recommend her.

Honestly, She is a great teacher. She does whatever she can to make everyone as comfortable as possible learning stuff that is not always easy to learn. Lori Hokerson has a nice setup. I took her online class and thought it was a lot of work at the beginning but it wasn't. However while having an online discussion with another student, she turned on me and censored my comments because another student misunderstood my reference and then sent out an entire email apologizing for me. She has favorites.

Human Sexuality was such a fun course, especially with Professor Hokerson! She's fantastic. There are enough opportunities to easily get an A, and she has a lot of activities that made this class really fun. I loved it! You go, Hokerson! :)

I took Psyc 300 online and enjoyed Hokerson. It felt like a LOT of work at the beginning but she's clear and once you get into it, it's the same stuff every week. Read a chapter of the book, take a quiz. There are 4 projects to do but you have your choice so pick what you like and what fits in your schedule.

Professor Hokerson is one of the most helpful professors I've had so far. She does require a lot of reading in short periods of time but she does suggest when you should start and be finished by. If you are willing to put in the effort you will get a good grade. She also gives fair warning when a test might be difficult. Overall great professor.

LOVED THIS CLASS!! We're not in high school anymore so it's expected that there will be a lot of work. I came to be challenged, not get the easy grade. Prof. Hokerson expects a lot from you as a student, but has very clear expectations. If you do what you need to, you'll do fine and learn a lot.

The Prof. is very passionate about this topic. It was challenging, but doable. It's not just a lecture class, there are activities that are fun. I would recommend this class & would take her again.

Took the online course. She went out of her way to answer questions and was incredibly nice and helpful. The course was organized and perfectly followed the calendar. Be sure to look at when projects are due before signing up for them. I ended up with three on one weekend which was stressful, but otherwise the course was very manageable and fun!

She is a great teacher, she made herself available as often as necessary. If you read the chapters you could easily pass the quizzes. She has a calendar that she follows very closely and as long as you pay attention to dates and projects due you should be fine. The hardest thing was the group project since it's an online class.

It is online class. Not easy. Constant work. Professor Lori Hokerson is EXTREMELY nice, she explains everything and she is always there to help you! Online class. Heavy work load. Do everything and use study guide you will get an A. Easy grader on projects and such but tests are a little hard even with study guide answers. She drops you lowest test and there is an extra credit final. You can keep redoing the first quiz and topic discussions until you get all the points.

I took her online course and it was a heavy workload. A LOT of reading! But if you read you could pass the weekly tests no problem! When anyone had a question she seemed to promptly answer them! The most difficult part was the group project since it was an online class. You really need to get in touch with your group early! TAKE HER!

Prof. Hokerson is a great teacher. She makes the class very funny and interesting. The only downside is the large amount of homework she gives out. Her class can be very tricky and there is a lot of homework, but I would definitely recommend her to anyone who is going to take Human Sexuality.

I took the 8 week course so the work is overwhelming. The subject matter is fascinating and Hokerson really knows her stuff. Overall the class is not too difficult if you manage to keep on top of all the work. She's helpful and funny and she really works to make the three hour class period interesting!

I loved Hokerson! Class is tough, though. Interesting stuff- but it was nearly impossible to sit through 3 hours of lecture 2x a week on what we'd read the night before. The quizzes were easy enough, the study guide for the midterm and final helped very little. And do the research paper NOT the journal topics! 12, 650 word essays for the journal.

Professor Hokerson knows to keep an interesting lecture & draw your interest if you are not that into it. Lectures are not only fun, educational, but also high level material. Attend lectures, do your assignments; if you need help she will go the distance to make sure you get the help you need. Very creative and put together. An awesome teacher!

Took her online class, but she is really funny in person. The online class was a lot of reading and a lot of forum postsparticipation required but test were daily easy if you actually studied, multiple choice. I learned a lot of interesting things and had good discussions. Enjoyable class if you have interest in Psychology.

I needed a 8 week class and found Professor Hokerson Human Sexuality. The class was innovative and exciting with plenty of time do all the assignments. Professor Hokerson made each hour pass so quickly and having guest speakers made the class more engaging. The lectures were very informative and fascinating therefore opening your mind to new ideas

I feel Professor Hokerson is great, shes very engaging and keeps you interested, even on the Chapters that were pretty dull. She doesn't tollerate late students, which I love... I hate in and outs.. get in, sit down, and learn ... I would enjoy having her teach a few other courses I need. Just be ready for quizzes, and writing!

Direct about what's expected. Don't skip class! Read the textbook and questions on the test are sometimes straight from lecture and not really in the book. So the tests are the hardest.

There's a major project that she had assigned early on in the semester that seems overwhelming, but it's actually not that bad. As long as you show up to class and take notes, pay attention, DO YOUR READING, respect her and other students, and keep an open mind, you'll get a good grade. She will help you, if ask, and does provide great feedback.

This is a very "interesting" and controversial class. Makes it interesting. Does a good job keeping the discussions on track. Exams are on line and open book. Either lots of papers or one big one with presentation will be assigned. Take notes and don't miss. If you do you will miss out on impotent information. Will drop you if don't have book.

I was pretty overwhelmed in the beginning of the semester because there was so much info and things to complete in the first week- it was kind of all over the place and it felt disorganized. Overall, easy online class.

Really enjoyed Prof. Hokerson, she makes the material accessible and really wants you to understand it. She encourages participation and you'll be marked down if you stay quiet, so make your opinion known! Easy to get in touch with her and she is quick to respond. Solid professor, does not act high and mighty, keeps it real with everyone. Go to class, participate, pay attention, you know, like an adult, and getting an A should be fairly reasonable. Workload is very fair and she provides more than enough resources to help you succeed. Highly recommend, good professor, great person!

My first review because of her... Hands down the BEST PROFESSOR I've ever had. Her online modules are as easy to follow as her assignments and grading policies are superb. My advice is to attend class and do the assignments which are not even that much. She is very passionate about psychology and that says a lot, highly recommend!

Lori was a very good teacher,. she's excellent at making her classes interesting and they help a lot with the quizzes... Quizzes are the worst part of this class, be careful with the 3-5 point questions or you'll fail a quiz you studied 10 hours for. Check the quizlets online for help with this and your midterm/finals. I took her hybrid class and I loved it. We only met on Tuesdays and the class discussions were fun. She answers emails quickly and grades are always up to date. She rarely ever did lectures where it was her reading off a PowerPoint, just once or twice. Lots of extra credit opportunities as well. Easy A.

Super accessible through email and makes it obvious that she really cares about maximizing her students time and making sure that we succeed. This was my first online class that Ive ever taken and Professor Hokerson made it easy for me! There were LOTS of group projects every week and homework but it all helped me to do great on my quiz/exams. I would take her class again!

Prof Hokerson energizes your analytical skills. She takes her work seriously; by that, I mean to say she is extremely well organized and clearly loves the topics for which she teaches. NOTE: Follow her instructions. I loved how she paves the way to a learning experience like none other. I also took her Psyc300 as well! Stay on top of the work!

Really great teacher. Super nice and helpful; she communicates well with students and truly wants you to succeed. There is a LOT of reading in this class, though. Textbook chapters every week along with articles she pulls from elsewhere. Additional reading with weekly discussion posts. But, if you miss some assignments, there is tons of EC. Do it.

Prof Hokerson is such a caring and attentive teacher. I have taken this class twice, the first time failing on my own accord because the adjustment to online during COVID times was very difficult for me. I almost passed, because she checked in constantly and was worried if I didnt submit anything! She cares a lot, but there is a fair amount of HW.

She is big on class participation but she makes the work fun and easy, I took her psychology class & signed up for her other human services classes.

Professor Hokerson is very organized and she knows what she is talking about. For her online class she requires that you attend 5 online meetings. There is a TON of information and resources she gives out during the semester which was overwhelming to me, but she has clear expectations of what she expects. Real down to earth, she is very fair gives lots of chances to improve test,quizzes and assignments. Very knowledgeable about what goes on in today's world. I've picked her twice as a professor, wish I could take a third.

I really enjoyed the class which made it easier to do the course work, though there is a lot of classwork, she sets a clear grading guideline of all the assignments to achieve a certain grade in her class. She also cares about her students and is pretty available to set up a zoom meeting. She also provides additional learning opportunities.

Her class is confusing at first w/ the unique way she grades, but overall it becomes straightforward as you progress through the course. You need to go to class to fully understand the material and get your assignments in, which are required. The only difficult thing about this class was the quizzes/exams. She writes a LOT of trick questions.

Prof. Hokerson's class is engaging, but the workload can be heavy. Using Unstuck ai and the textbook helped me manage the workload and excel in the course.
