I really enjoyed this class. Notes are straightforward and test material taken directly from notes. Study guides given for every test.

Grammar is not the easiest thing to teach, but Lori presents the information so it's easy to understand. She's a little disorganized and she changes the syllabus quite often, but it's all worth it. Take a course with Lori and have an easy 'A'

Tests are harder than it sounds - make sure you study the notes and some of the book. She is very nice and funny though, also very approachable. SLS projects suck though!

Young teacher and knows her stuff. Study guide didn't really help me much for the first test, but otherwise its just inclass assignments, and a project, and tests. Powerpoint is used for lecture and sometimes videos. Not a bad class, didn't really use the book though.TAKE HER ..GOOD YOUNG TEACHER

She is a very cool prof, pretty laid back, interesting material. 4 exams (pretty easy-study and you'll do fine), 3 movie critiques (very easy), a few in class assignments (very easy). I didn't buy the book and I have an average of 94% on exams. I would definitely recommend taking her for CDO 230!

Easy, straightforward class. Either go to class and skip the book, or buy the book and skip the class, like me. Lecture notes are all on blackboard, along with study guides. Four exams, three simple movie critiques and that's it! She's adorable and has interesting classes. Definitely recommended.

The SLS project can be a pain, but it's a guarenteed A if you follow instructions. An excellent professor, CMU is lucky to have her.

Awesome teacher! she's always so willing to answer questions. If class the poses a question she doesn't know the answer to she is always willing to research and get an answer too! Do the extra credit it can bring your grade up a lot! Overall, she knows the material well and helps with the notes.

Lori Ann is an AMAZING professor - she really gets on our level and talks with us during class. Her courses are predominantly 1 big "group discussion" session. She REALLY loves her field, has an exceptionally wonderous spirit and compassion for both young and old. It takes a SPECIAL person to work with either Geriatrics or college students 24-7.

In contradiction to other raters, Lori WAS here for Fall 2006 and is an AMAZING teacher at CDO! She was very helpful and the lectures were very interesting. She kept class interesting. She gives daily assignments to make sure you show up, and tests are difficult, just study and you'll be fine!

She is a really good teacher. Her outlines were a little hard to follow, but if you go to class that shouldn't be a problem.

Im sure that Lori is the best teacher in CMU. I took this class in the summer, and in those 6 weeks, we only had 2 projects, which were very easy, and two exams. At last, i got A~ take CDO 130 for your UP!!!!!!

I had Lori for CDO 330 and CDO230. She is the best professor the CDO department has. Take classes with her and you will learn a lot and have fun! She is so passionate about the subject and goes about teaching you in a nice, organized way. She understands that we have many things to do and works hard to make the class as interesting as possible. :)

Don't buy the book! We didn't use it at all the entire semester. Lori is a great teacher, she's very fair and makes the class interesting by bring in speakers that actually have the disorders. She plays videos sometimes and audio samples so we get a clearer understanding of what we're learning. She's highly recommended.

I got into Pietrandrea's class for CDO 335 and I got LUCKY! She made things so clear and interesting. She does weekly quizzes, but they prepare you really well for the exams. If you can ever take this class with her, I recommend it! It's a hard class as it is, but she makes it much more bearable.

Lori is a great teacher. Very helpful. She'd go out of her way to make sure you understand something. Very organized and responds to e-mails quickly. If she doesn't know an answer to a question someone asks then she'll make sure she finds it. Tests aren't easy but if you study you'll do fine. Quizzes are online and you can take them multiple times.

Love her! Makes material really interesting. Tests can be difficutl but all the questions asked on weekly online quizes will show up again on test so study those! Class isn't mandatory but she gives notes that you fill in the blanks for using her powerpoint. If you go to class no need for the book.

This class is so fun, I love the examples that she gives, you can miss classes only if you have someone you can copy notes from, she is so nice and she really does seem to care. She's really helpful, and makes things perfectly understandable backing information up with relatable examples. Go to class, fill in the blanks for the Powerpoint presentation, study hard for exams, & you'll be golden!

Very easy to get an A as long as you go to class and fill in the Powerpoint notes. My one warning is to be very prepared for the exam because most exams questions were very cohesive and comprehensive, but there were some that were poorly worded or had multiple answers if you included information from the book and lecture. Sometimes unclear!

Lori is the best professor I've had at CMU so far! She works part time at the Midland hospital & part time at CMU & she has all kinds of stories. Her exams are easy if you study your notes. Make sure you show up to classes that are expected to have low attendance (days before breaks, St. Patty's) because she gives out extra credit for showing up.

Lori is one of the nicest profs I've had at CMU. This class fulfilled a UP for me, so I only took it because I heard it was an easy A, which it was! The class is lecture heavy, with weakly assignments to be submitted, but besides that, it should be a breeze. Lori also give a ton of extra credit, so you really have to TRY to fail... Would recommend.

TONS OF EXTRA CREDIT! Some of the material is tough to master but Lori makes it easy to understand. I loved going to class and I find Lori's lectures to be interesting but the class is lecture heavy.
