Lori, her class was always very interesting! Cause I had to take this class at least 2 time before I pass this class. Not because I fail the class, it was the AWE test that held me back. I still learn alot! I like the way she teach! Fun and interesting. Alot of group work. the 2 time i took the class I got a A first time and a B on the second time.

So far, this class has been really interesting. She teaches you a lot about how your brain works & how you make decisions. It is helping me figure out why I am stressed a lot and how to stop. She seems to really want to help. It is really different than what I expected, but I like it.

she is an excellent teacher. i have always hated writing only because i did not know how. she has helped me alot and now i enjoy writing. goes over everything you need to know and more to write a good essay. i highly recomend her.

Walker was an awesome teacher... makes class interesting and is very easy to talk to..not intimidating like others.Highly recommended.Her study80 class was basically 1 solo projoect followed by 2 group research projects. but they were very reasonable and helped me with not only school but other things as well surprisingly... i actually miss her!

I am currently taking Study 80 with Dr. Walker and I have been greatly inspired to implement the methods and stratagies we've discussed. There is SOOO much to learn in this class, but you really need to be mature and open minded to acertain and utilize the stratagies taught in this coarse. Also she just so happens to be the author of the required text book for this class. Class is now over. I worked hard and got a 98.6% it was not easy, but very rewarding. Thanks Dr. Walker I will stop by and visit soon.

Took her class last fall semester, she did excellent teaching and helped me a lot with everything in class. If you going to take her class, you will not be regret unless you are not stupid enough.

I noticed that most of the people in the class didnt do some of the little work required from her so they had to drop the class. just do ur homework and you'll pass! Smiles alot of the time with a southern accent, this teacher will show you the fun in how to do your work. presentations and papers is about it, but with her, you get to have fun while you do it.

One of my all time favorite professors! Class was fun, exciting, interesting and the lectures were easy to understand. Homework was fairly enjoyable but still challenging (maybe a bit much at times). I had a great time in her class.

Walker is a great helpful professor, however, there is a lot of work involved including group projects and presentations. You will learn, but make sure you have the time to complete assignments. Grading is fair and she is nice!

I LOVE LORI! The class isn't what you think it is. Its more of a discussion/personal view class to really get you thinking on how to change things in your life for the better and not just the way you study. I'm taking her STDY 100 at the moment (Winter 2014) and loving it just as much as her STDY 80 (Spring 2013). She's wonderful!

Very helpful and keeps the class engaged. There is a lot of busy work type of homework but just keep on top of it and it shouldn't take too much out of your schedule. Engage in class discussion and invest into the class and you will learn a lot.

Not a hard class at all you will need the Applied basic mathematics text book and pass code but that comes with the book also expect to take notes and interact with the people at your table

Lori Walker is a Professor that cares about her students and has a passion for teaching. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND not missing, I took her Winter class and there was a lot of material that was gone over in just one day. One negative is that students distract her with irrelevant topics easily in the middle of her lectures while we wait for her to continue.

professor walker is amazing and really knows how to get students into math. I hate math but she taught it in a way that made it easier to understand and truly helps you out. you do have to work for the grade you want by going to tutoring but it's better for you in the long run.

Please take Prof Walker! She really seems to care about her students and wants you to pass. Her reading is a lot, but quite easy and so are her quizzes. I personally find it fun to participate online, but maybe that just me! But if you're taking philosophy and plan to do it online, take her!

Took Lori for Phil 9 Winter Session online. Class materials were easy to navigate online. You do need a textbook. And, she replies to comments and emails at a reasonable response time. We had 2 philosophy essays to write and you get to choose the controversial topics you want to write a paper on. Quizzes are free response. Great professor to take!

She is such a great professor, one of the best! I took her online class in the winter intersession. Just make sure that you manage your time wisely and that you are not taking another online class together. You can always rely on her to help you out when you're stuck. She only required one book that you can buy online (it's cheaper).

Really recommend her online philosophy class. she always leaves comments on graded assignments so it makes an online class feel less isolated. The discussions are fun and the material is easy to understand, just do the reading. Textbook can be found online for free. 2 philosophy position papers but you choose the topic.

Professor Walker is a very organized and clear professor. The material of philosophy is quite challenging in general but Walker makes the material easier to learn by providing a free e-book and offers extra practice questions (similar to the quizzes and the final exam). She lists all requirements for assignments. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this professor.

There is a lot of work and I would say she grades on the harder side but u can resubmit any assignment with her corrections. It takes only a few minutes and it will become 100%. She is also very quick to respond to emails.

I honestly loved her online course. She is easy to reach and gives excellent feedback. A very kind professor. There are quizzes and outlines due every week so be prepared to read a lot. But the book she uses is easy and fun to read.

a looot of reading so only take this course if you are good at time management. a lot of reading bc the HW consists of notetaking on the book. textbook is required but there is a free version online, just do a quick search. quizzes every week but open note so be sure to take good notes. 1 midterm but not too hard. prof is e-mail accessible& v nice.

Professor Walker was amazing! Even though it was all online she is super personal and in my opinion one of the best professors at Mt. Sac! There were quite a few discussions but the assignments were interesting and easy to articulate! Should most definitely take her class, you wont regret it!

I had a late registration period but luckily I was able to land this professor. She responds to emails very well and she actually reads and grades each and every assignment and paper so don't even think about skimping on those. Make sure to stay engaged in the discussions and do the assignments on time. The only huge assignment is the midterm paper

Professor Walker is upfront with requirements for the essays and assignments. If you have any questions, she tends to respond quickly through Canvas and e-Mail. She also provides great constructive criticism on every assignment. If you really pay attention to the reading and to her comments, then you are almost certainly able to pass the class.

Dr. Walker is a super nice professor! There is a good amount of work you have to put into this class, but as long as you do the reading and take notes it will help with discussion and quizzes. She does not try to overwhelm you with the workload and is always there for you if you need her, there is also an in class tutor too if you need the help.

Best professor, especially for a writing class! Totally recommend to anyone needing to fulfill GE. Took during short winter semester and it did not feel that it was too much work. Prof. Lori is super cool! I took this class during the 6 week semester in summer, and it's not overwhelming. I learned a lot in this class, but this isn't an easy class, u really have to read & understand the text to do good in the quizzes, coz the quiz questions r not directly taken from anywhere, so u really need to understand the text.

She also provides good feedback on what you did well as well as what you could improve on. As long as you're doing your readings and doing the discussions, you should be able to do very well in the class.

I thought her teaching philosophy was good and each response was very specific, but it was a bit rushed as a short class. She is very strict about the paper and format. I recommend going to the writing center tutor, not only as Extra Credit, but also to improve your paper. The assignments are basically written and graded.

I had Prof. Walker for Phil 9 Critical Writing and Thinking in Fall 21 and it was a blast. The class was straightforward, with a decent amount of writing as expected but not an overwhelming amount. I would recommend this prof/class for anyone that needs to fulfill Critical Writing and Thinking.

Professor Walker is literally the sweetest lady. The work can build up at times, but everything is very reasonable. The textbook can be a lot to digest and you may not score as well on quizzes, but she offers extra credit and lots of help. I learned a lot and had a great time :)

The class is delightful if you want actually to learn the concepts. Her test is more about applying concepts rather than just definitions. The weekly quizzes are very short however each question is worth around 3 points and tend to have 1 or 2 open-ended questions, she grades them fairly and has expectations for the answer you should give.

As long as you stay up to date on coursework and read the textbook thoroughly, there is no reason why you should have any trouble in her class. She was awesome!!!

She's honest about the difficulty of work but gives the utmost guidance and is completely accessible. She offers so much knowledge and warmth in the classroom, you'll never want to miss a lesson. This professor was great. She offers clear expectations on her syllabus along with extra credit opportunities and offers feedback on assignments to make sure you are understanding the material. There is a lot of reading and weekly quizzes but the work is doable as long as you put effort in.

This class is NOT just writing papers. SO much more than that. This is a VERY challenging class, but the professor made it more manageable. She is so sweet and gives very helpful feedback. You can tell she cares about her students. One tip: DO NOT slack off in this class. Even if it is online. The workload is heavy and overwhelming at times.

I took Critical Thinking for Fall 2023 and I loved it because so many concepts in this class apply to society. I think Professor Walker gives clear instructions but I especially like the lectures she provides get straight to the "meat" of things not overly long readings that feel daunting. I'd prefer another class by Prof. Walker and recommend it.

Professor Walker is an exemplary professor. For an online course, I felt as though she was there in person based on how she gave encouragement and help. With that said it is a course based in writing so there is a bit to do, but there is no shortage of help with the entire process.

She will provide feedback on each of your assignments and explain to you where you fell short. She also encourages students, which gives me a lot of confidence.

She is super organized! Every week pretty much looks the same - quiz & 2 discussions. I took her for a 6 week course so things were fast paced but totally doable (coming from someone working full time). She provides great feedback and is super nice. The textbook is available online FREE so DON'T buy!

I would recommend Professor Lori. Everything was straightforward and organized. The work was a reasonable and based on lectures/power-points. Professor Lori is really understanding if you communicate with her and she provides helpful feedback. The class is effort based and students are given opportunities to improve their work.

Class was easy to follow and participate in. As long as you can navigate Canvas, everything you could possibly need is there. I never really had to reach out to her during office hours so I can't speak to that aspect, but she gave more than enough information to navigate the course. Textbook is mandatory and necessary for quizzes and assignments.

If you need to take a last-minute GE class like I had to, I highly recommend Professor Lori. She was very caring, and her online course was not that difficult or too easy. I feel like the amount of homework and readings we had to do was a good amount, and everything in her class is very balanced. If you work and go to school, take this class trust!

This was my first class I finished since at least 10-ish year break from being in school. This Professor was awesome and set up a great structure to the class that was easy to understand and grasp. I would take another class with her in a heart beat.

This was my first class I have taken since around a 9 year break. This Professor has a great structure to lectures and gave clear feedback to all the discussions. The reading wasn't all that much, and she even made notes for parts of the reading that were not important so you can opt to skip those sections. I would take this professor again

Professor Walker provides great feedback and is understanding. Her lectures are straightforward, and the workload, though heavy at times, can be managed with resources like ChatGPT and Unstuck study. Overall, the class is rewarding and worth taking.

Professor Lori is completely selfless; she put in many office hours with me in order to help me understand the material better, which in turn also helped me become a better student. I am glad I took this course, because Professor Lori is amazing, plus I was taught skills that became useful for me as I was learning them.

Good professor. provides good feedback and allows you to redo assignments if you misunderstood. understanding of circumstances outside of school and will work with you. lots of reading but you can manage focusing on specific topics. I took for a winter course and it was manageable, organized, and routine each week. Do assignments and you'll pass.

Professor Walker taught a great and informative class! She provided many great resources and complementary materials for the textbook. Professor Walker graded all of the assignments very quickly, providing excellent feedback for all of my work. She also kept engagement high with all of the discussions throughout the class.

Professor Lori has clear and detailed instructions for every assignment. She takes her time to respond to every assignment and gives really good feed back. She offered extra credit and only allowed us to make up one late assignment. We had one 10 page midterm due and one 6 page final assignment. We had a manageable amount of work due every Sunday.

My first and favorite online professor!! Gives really good, detailed feedback. Reaches out and helps often and makes you feel cared for despite it being online. The coursework was manageable and she gave enough room to write on topics that interest you.

Took the honors version of this class, it's sooo hard!!! But Lori is an awesome professor AND person. So kind, understanding, and willing to work with you. I'd recommend her to anyone. Be ready to put in work and open your mind.

Professor Walker is amazing! Her class is very interesting but it is definitely more difficult. I honestly enjoyed this class so much. She gives extra credit opportunities and very obviously cares a lot about her students. I would one hundred percent recommend her class!!

I would highly recommand her class to everyone who wants to improve their critical thinking skills. Her class is very organized and you will be fine if you can follow the instructions. Just schedule to talk to the tutor if you are confused, and that would also counts as your extra credit at the end of the semester.(WILL BOOST YOUR GRADE) good luck!

I definitely recommend professor Lori. Everything in her class was clear and well-organized. The amount of work was reasonable for a writing class and based on lectures and powerpoints. Professor Lori is really sweet and understanding of student's lives outside of school. She also gives great feedback. There is lots of extra credit!

Your ability to read and learn the information yourself is crucial to the course. Professor is very helpful though.

The course itself is challenging, but the benefit of getting through it is worth it. I am glad I chose Professor Walker's class! I have never gotten so much detailed relevant feedback on assignments. She enhanced my critical thinking skills for sure! Mostly importantly, Professor Walker cares about the success the of her students.

UPDATE 12/12 By far personally, this is the hardest honors course I ever taken! But Lori is an amazing professor! Although the Midterm Research Paper requires a lot of effort and research while the final writing assignment is kinda less, she really makes me so self-aware that the whole internet is filled with fake news! You're amazing Lori! :D

Professor Walker makes positive impacts on her students. If you're willing to learn, she's willing to teach you. I not only learned a lot about philosophical research, I learned more about myself as well. Her feedback and guidance helped prepare me for UC level classes.

This class is amazing, and the Professor is amazing. I have no idea why anyone would say this course is hard, since Dr. Walker is completely clear and organized when explaining how an assignment is graded. This class stimulated me mentally, while also not stressing me out about grades. I seriously cannot believe there are any negative reviews.
