Undoubtedly the worst teacher I have ever had. I am an A student and I don't know if I even passed this course(it has been 2 months since the course ended and the marks aren't up). He takes forever to mark asignments and his marking is brutally unfair.

Nice guy but very unclear with what he wants on the essays. His essay topics are off the rockers mostly about something we have never read and then excepts perfect work. He says one thing but really wants the other. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. DON'T TAKE EN 216

What a jerk!! This guy is impossible to get anything right and I am an A student and darn near failed!! The harder you try the harder you FALL!!

What a mean guy!! He was NEVER clear with what he wanted, and only ever helped the students that he seemed to like. No opinion was right unless it was his own. ANd his marking was impossible, plot summary is the only thing he liked. I learned NOTHING.

Incredibly hard expectations that are even harder to fufill because he teaches nothing. Completely hit or miss as to whether he likes your work or not. Treats every assignment like a test- will not tell you if you're on the right track or not.

I'm an A/B student in English. I took the course because it sounded interesting not because I wanted to and did horribly, it brought down my whole GPA. Someone should look into his marking practices.

BAD! aweful teacher. teaches NOTHING. I learned nothing from him but to fear english classes and essay writing in general! If you get him, run. Run as fast as you can! (definately drop the class)

Bellamy is the worst prof i have ever had at UCC!!!!!! He is extremly borring, and the hardest marker ever!!! He only comes to half of the classes, and expects us to be there all the time!!! STOP TEACHING!!!

Terrible teacher and a boring class! I will never take a class with him again. Almost failed his class and took the course again with a GOOD prof and got a really good grade.

I despised him. He missed over one third of the scheduled classes. He then critized my attendance and failed me on a paper for no apparent reason.

This was by far the most uninteresting class i have ever taken. He drowns on and on about a novel for 2 hours maybe asking one or two questions to engage the class, but the class is usually half asleep by the time he attempts to regard our imput. Misses class with no explaination and takes forever to give back assignments DONT TAKE THIS CLASS

Belamy is a nice enough guy. Really poetic and passionate, but a terrible teacher. He expects everyone to have the same perspective as he does. He leaves no room for creativity. His lectures leave no room for discussion, or for students to share ideas. I would definately stay away from his class.

Very boring class. He is a very unclear teacher. Lectures are never-ending. Hard marker, even as a good enlglish student, he is so unpredictable with his marking. Find another 110 teacher as there are way better ones. Expects way too much for a 1st year course, and is one of the only teachers that gives a final exam.

His lectures were unbelievably stale. He is not helpful with criticism on essays.

I wish I acknowledged that something is VERY wrong when over half the class drops out after the first week. What he says, often just doesn't make sense.. When he marks your essays, you won't know why you received the mark that you did, seems like he marks you according to how much he likes/dislikes you. Watch OUT! Find a different teacher-trust me!

This man is an absolute failure as a prof. I've never been in an english class where there was a right answer for creative expression. He gives you a low mark and writes illegible feedback all over your essay. When you ask him to read it because you can't he tells you no, he is too busy. When the entire class gets a C there is a problem...

this guy is awful...if you are looking for a nap in class then hes the way to go. extremely hard marker and like mentioned before, dont bother trying to figure out why your mark is crap because his hand writing looks like a foreign language. he took from feb 14 to march 10 to get my paper marked and back to me....awefull teacher

Most people say this class is a good time for a nap, and.. during the two weeks I endured English 111 with him, I would agree.

this man sucks in teaching. and when other english classes have no final and research essay, you have to do all this, with his devil like marking scheme. so please, for your own sake, do not pick this teacher.

this was the worst prof I have ever had. i dreaded my life every time i had to go to his lecture. he tried to screw me over and take marks away from me for no reason. after a long drawn out fight with the dean and chair behind me, he finally caved and gave my marks back. biggest waste of time and money ever!!

His lectures are boring and put you to sleep. He will go over the whole story that was suppose to be read before class for the full 2 hours of lecture. He doesn't time out his course well enough leaving everything to be done in the last month. terrable teacher i would not suggect taking his class

Lorne made going to class painful. Before his class i enjoyed english, now i cant stand it. Avoid him as a professor if you can! Awful!!!

The assignments required for class are relevant however class was not very organized and he did not connect well with students.

Basicly h=for homework he'll tell you to read a random essay from the text book. then in class he'll go over and regurgitate every fact and sentence in the essay. Not even really saying the techniques that the author used that worked but the facts they were writing about.No matter my effort got C

Taking first year composition was one of the worst experiences I've had. Took forever to mark and return work, on multiple occasions LOST work from students, and asked for the assignment again. I failed the course when I took it with him. I retried over the summer with a different instructor, and I got the highest mark in the class with an A+.

Lorne is the worst teacher I have ever had before. Please do yourself a favour and avoid his class at all costs. No matter how hard I tried, or how good my essay was, he would not budge at giving me the mark I deserved. I went from being an A+ student in English to having a C-..

Lorne is a nice guy, but his lectures are stupidly boring. He will talk the whole lecture and you will walk out of there without learning anything, contributing anything or writing anything down because he is always off topic. Do not take his class unless you have NO other option

Please please please don't take any class with him if you are an international student, you will surely fail. He is boring and takes weeks to return marked home works. He practically failed the whole international students in his class. Avoid him please!

Jesus, what a terrible teacher.. Right now he's about 2 months behind on grading papers. Even if you need to do english 1100 right now, don't do it with him! If it wasn't for Snapchat and the awesome people who got stuck in his class, I would have missed the last month and a half of his class.

Lorne is a nice guy in theory, but a professor? Not really. He's never clear on what he wants from you in an assignment, he's not organized and takes forever to mark anything. If you ask him a question outside of class he's typically sassy with you and expects a lot from an Intro class.

Though Lorne is a very kind person and his assignments really weren't so bad, the biggest problem is how long he takes to mark things and that his lectures are, a lot of the time, kind of pointless. You can hand in a 3 paper essay and you won't see it back for a little over a month. He takes a very long time to mark, emphasize the "very".

Terrible prof! He didn't hand back my assignments until the final. I failed this course. He forced us to fix the assignments many times and then still mark them zero. If he intends to give a zero mark, he should hand back the assignment sooner so that we can promptly drop out of the course. How horrible!

Takes forever to mark anything and when it's returned it says fantastic job "one of my favorite" but somehow still a 6.5 out of 10

Takes forever to mark a paper, loves talking and sometimes talks like there's no one in the class as he loves to talk and talk and talk, never stops talking about irrelevant topics. Wrote a paper and said it was great but still gave me 6.5/15? how is this possible. worst Prof ever.

Super nice guy but unnecessarily difficult marker. No matter how well you write your paper, if you have grammatical errors here and there, you're getting less then a B. Classes are boring and don't always directly translate to exams. Papers are too long and drag on. Don't take this class, it's way too difficult and generally unfair.

Worst prof ever. Had no idea what he was grading. Took forever to get marks back. Doesn't tell you if your doing well or where you need to improve. Told me I was going to pass then failed me

Doesn't seem to be a bad guy and definitely has a passion for English. However, his lectures are long and monotone. I sometimes found it difficult to stay awake in class. Doesn't give decent feedback and tends to be unclear at times of what he would like us to write about.

Bellamy teaches the class in a very slow manner, while not offering constructive information in his lectures. His test's consist of in-class essay writing, and 3 essays to write throughout the semester. He doesn't teach what he's asking for in his lectures, so the marks he gives arent fairly reflected.

Lorne Bellamy is a simplistic and charismatic teacher. Academically, he sucks bad. The best trick i recommend you if you want to enter his class, is to participate often and have a sense of leadership, because i saw on Bellamy's eyes a power of excitement. I prefer that he should not teach English, instead Psychology will be better for him, though.

Lorne Bellamy I found was a poor English teacher. His class was not very English based at all. Many handouts on "the safe drug injection sites in Vancouver". I swear that is all I have learned from his class.

Lorne is a very vague teacher. He gives you many handouts to explain how to do assigned papers but rarely gives outlines on how to accomplish the finished product. Extremely tough grader. If this is your first year taking English I strongly recommend another teacher.

Takes the entire semester to hand back your first assignment. Doesn't actually teach you anything about writing, except how to use semi-colon. Skips his own class and emails you THE NEXT DAY IN PRESENT TENSE. YOU DON'T FOOL ME, LORNE. 0/10 After 4 years here, I have not had a prof nearly as terrible.

Worst teacher I have ever had in my life, and english is my best/favourite subject. He actually ended up failing almost everyone in all 4 of his sections except a few people, so the school bumped everyone up to a D. He kept his job. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! Even if you're strong at english, you'll really regret it.

Very bad teacher. Don't buy golden spruce cuz he never use and you dont need it. Worst prof ever. Wonder why they still hiring him.
