VERY funny...

You will look forward to his lectures! He is very funny, yet teaches the course well. I only had him for 1/2 a semester, wish I had him all year!

I actually looked forward to going to night classes with him. Smart, hilarious and a great guy behind the scenes. Got to know him and he is the full package. Don't pass an opportunity to get in his class

This guy is hilarious!! Funniest prof EVER! His mixture of class content with his unique sense of humour made going to class fun!

His light-heartedness, humour and helpfulness make stats easy to learn. He's even willing to help students at last minute during exam week! One of the best teachers I've had at UoG so far.

Bennett is wicked, pure and simple this guy is pure jokes. Made my 830 Climate and the Biophysical so much better. He is hard though.

Best prof I had in all my time at GUelph. Funny, inspiring, great stories, makes you want to do well and gives you the tools to do so. What more could you ask for? If you have any problems at all with the material just go to office hours!

He ploughed through material very quickly, but it was not difficult to keep up with unless you hadn't read the text. His exams are difficult but fair and the essay was a good way to boost your mark. He allowed for class participation but not too much and he has a highly developed sence of humour.

Best prof i've had so far. Midterm was totally based on the class notes, not hard at all if you were there. Hes hilarious... loved him!

his midterm was tough s***. but hes a great prof, lectures were really interesting, and hes defintely approachable.

Also have taken geog 1220 and 2110 with this prof. He keeps his classes interesting and is very helpful, but his midterms and exams can be pretty random.

Awesome prof! He's hilarious and actually makes geography semi-interesting. Mid-terms and exams are entirely on lecture material so you have to go to them but there is some text readings to back up any information if you missed it. DEFINITELY reccommend him!

He's a super nice guy. The class is boring, fortunately he's funny and keeps you paying attention. Attend the class, listen to his little rants and case studies cause they're helpful in the short answer portion of the midterm/exam :)

He's sooo nice, and his corny little jokes are awesome. Really boring course but he's pretty cool.

Just remember: the arctic is sometimes described as "a cold and unforgiving place". And, "auroch".

Very good prof! Kept a 3 hour night class very exciting. Good sense of humor. midterms and exams based on lecture material, which is good in a way, but you CANNOT miss a lecture. he is very helpful and willing to answer questions in the online discussions. Overall, very good prof! Recommend taking a class with him if you can!

Uniquely funny guy. Always trying to throw a joke in here and there. Very hard tests though. Enthusiastic and loves to share knowledge.

Took this course as an elective. One of the best profs I've ever had.

He was amazing and I'm trying desperately to get into more of his classes. He is hilarious and I loved his course! Definitely take it- its legendary. Sat in the second row every class and answered all of his questions. Made my early morning class funny, entertaining, and interesting. If you are at all interested in geo take this course!

The best prof I've had yet at Guelph. Absolutely hilarious, actually cares about the students learning rather than regurgitating information and is clearly passionate about his subject. Hoping to have many more classes with him in the future.

BEST PROF EVER!!!! He engages the class and is sarcastic/ hilarious. Amazing course content and you could tell he really cared. I miss him everyday and wish I could take more of his classes! Go to his lectures because the stuff he says is on the mid term. Best professor I've had yet.

Great Prof, made everything interesting.

Good teacher, very unreasonable expectations for an arts class. Should be teaching enviro science, not geography. A chemistry and physics background is necessary to understand this class. The amount of information required to know is equivilant to that of 3 different classes. Spent over 48 hrs studying for final and didnt get to cover all material

Lorner's So comical and brings such a sense of charisma to the lecture. He's good at outlining what is important to one's knowledge and what is relevant for the midterm/exam. Likes to call out the people who walk in and out of the class or leave at odd times - but he means well and makes a joke about it. Overall, very intelligent, funny, inspiring.

Lorne is a great guy. Funny: "Before Blackberrys, you just didn't talk to people." He has fast paced lectures so write quickly. And don't miss too many classes

Bennett is the best! Take a course with him at least once in your four years at Guelph! He is very funny and he talks about very interesting topics, such as the wooly mammoth and "giant beavers"! His midterm is difficult, but if you study well ahead of time, you can do well.

BEST PROFESSOR EVER. I seriously love this man, so passionate about what he's teaching and he really engages the students. He is very sarcastic and hilarious. I STRONGLY suggest you take a course with him at some point if you can. Best prof I've had.

Bennet is the world's greatest prof. There's no disputing that. He's so passionate and sarcastically brilliant I even brought my boyfriend to class once to revel in his greatness. He's the crazy Uncle everyone wishes they had and if you go to the lectures you'll do AWESOME.Tip: He makes little lists of things in class WRITE THEM DOWN

Enjoyed this course's content, but I found his lecture's were hard to follow sometimes. I used pen and paper notes, and I got very scattered, so I advise doing them on the computer or print them out. Other than that, funny, engaging, and makes a night class more enjoyable.

Greatest professor to ever grace this campus with his presence. Absolutely hilarious, plus he really knows his stuff. Best class I've had so far. Just know his favourite clay type is 'smecktite'... hahah

What an excellent professor. If you attended class and took notes you will do well. Hilarious man who can pretty much raise passion for the environment in any student. I will do everything i can to take him again.

This guy is HILARIOUS. I had a morning class with him and he certainly was able to keep my attention with his interactions and jokes he would make in his lectures. Fun guy.

Prof Lorne is a legend. His lectures were enjoyable to attend. My class was a night class but he kept us awake. He is very engaging with his students and often walks around and almost lectures to you directly. He likes to ask questions. Tests are mostly based on lecture material. Reading the text will definitely help but it is not essential.

A really good class and the teacher is witty and fun to hear from. If you need an elective take this course!

Lorne is probably the funniest prof I have ever had. He covers pretty well everything in the textbook, but it would be smart to go to class because there are some examples he says in class that ends up on the midterm (and bonus marks, so take note of stupid facts). I am in his 3 hour night lecture, and he makes it go by so quickly. Awesome prof.

Bennet is able to keep everyone's attention during a three hour lecture. He often walks around the lecture hall and throws in sarcastic jokes throughout the lecture. Would totally recommend talking any course with Bennet.

Halarious prof, which makes for really interesting lectures. His exams are tough though and he does make you work for the grade. Go to class and take good notes.

Makes a three hour lecture a good thing

Dr. Bennet is hilariously witty and very knowledgeable, as well as passionate about his teaching. His lectures are way more interesting than the textbook, and he gives hints about the exam in class. Going to class and participating will make this course much easier and much more enjoyable for any student.

Lorne is a fantastic professor. He makes night classes worth going and actually enjoyable. His lectures are clear and he's often witty with his sense of humor. This course is pretty challenging however. The labs are absolutely brutal and math heavy unfortunately. The midterm was also brutal. Just be prepared to study. Overall a great professor!

Lorne is phenomenal. He is by far the funniest professor I've had. He constantly makes jokes and keeps the class involved. He explains things pretty quickly, but if you ask him to explain it he's more than happy to. Very approachable and he's always happy to help.
