She was very helpful and easy going.
She is great and will do everything she can to help you learn, you need to go to class prepared. I enjoyed her clinical and would recommend anyone else to take her!
Prof. Emeghebo is an excellent, knowledgeable and caring person professionally and personally. She definitely made the course much easier and understandable. Go to every class, write notes and you'll do well. Use text for backup. She is very approachable and works with you. Loved her as my professor, hope to have her again in the future.
Prof. E. is the best. She lectures clearly, gets to the point. Don't miss class, and get a voice recorder. Take good notes. Use the text for backup definitely. A very caring person, she wants her students to do well.
Excellent Prof. very clear & caring. Use your textbook & pay attention in the class. I recomend her to everyone.
I took Prof. E for NUR 320 & I took NUR 360 over summer- the best Prof. ever!!! Take good notes, even little ditails she mentions @ class may be asked on the test! Study your notes and use the book only for back up - the best Prof. to have over crazy summer semester!!!
Her class is THE BEST!!! TAKE HER... she is fun and whatever she says is on her test.... make sure u have a voice recorder and take notes on EVERYTHING she says... textbook we barely used but I used it for a backup... other than that her class is the bestt.......
she is an amazing teacher and knows her stuff very well and she is helpful and her exams are fare if you study and do all your work you'll be fine fyi she takes her math from the ATI books
SHE IS A GREAT TEACHER, SHE EXPLAINS THE INFORMATION UNTIL YOU UNDERSTAND, HER TESTS ARE FARE, YOU NEED TO STUDY,HER TESTS ARE ALOT OF CRITCAL THINKING, DONT THINK YOU WONT USE YOUR BRAIN
Cool Professor, long lectures, long classes but the exams are easy
She is quite unapprachable and sees things in black and white. She goes super hard about the paper her lectures are loonggggg nd boring but make sure you record and take notes because she tests on the things she says. Her test are easy ONLY if you study. Unfortunetly she is the best youll get for Med surg 1 goodluck!
Dr. E is a great professor! Her exams are fare. It is very possible to get an A in this class. We all know that nursing school is not easy so make sure you STUDY!
I agree unaproachable and boring but potential to do good in her class. I did not use the text book at all. You can study straight from her course pack and recordings. She does not review her syllabus and that caused alot of confusion. Many did not get ati credit because her instructions were not clear and she refused to admit it.
She was fair if you pay attention during lecture you will be fine. i didnt record but most ppl did. study her side comments she makes!
She is a good professor. don't listen to anyone saying she is easy.there is no such thing.she's not hard but she is not easy at the same time.you need to do your part!nothing is gonna get handed to you.if you study,do ATI questions, record her class then you will be fine.she is great as a clinical teacher also.REMEMBER DO YOUR PART
She was ok - don't just go by the coursepak you really should record because she adds so much which you'll see on the test. There's SO much information and she doesn't narrow it down so you just have to study it all. That being said, the tests weren't THAT bad if you study what she says in class. Book was useless - I didn't open it at all.
I had her for clinical as well as lecture. Doesnt have alot of time for everyone. MUST record her. she will get the majority of her ques from the ATI. so be sure to put alot of time in that. She is very approachable and easy to talk to. Be sure to put alot of your time in her paper, cuz she can easily tear your paper apart.
Like others said, study what she says in lecture. At the end of the semester she'll tell you to join NSNA so she has the list of students who are members in front of her when she's doing final grades. Makes it sound like it will help your grade in the end. It doesn't. I was 1/2 point away from an A- and I still got a B+.
Easy A..the best proffesor
Prof E was nice but boring just sits there and reads from her notes need to record bc u will fall asleep! Tests aren't to bad!! Don't do any of the things she says to do for extra credit like joining things bc she doesn't give the credit!
she is a great professor. just record her and take notes and u will do great. compared to other medsurg prof. she is the best. use the ATI books and do the online questions cause she does takes questions from there. u dont really need the textbook. just take really gud notes and u will do great.
Let's face it, Research is not lighting fires under anyone's caboose. Yeah, it's torture but this is required for a BSN. However, she was a pleasant person and gave us grading opportunities to help with our grades. This class should be taught earlier in the program. This information makes more sense during clinical rotation.
I don't know how this hasn't been mentioned yet but her final is a critique of an article with 30 short answer questions that need to be answered in 2 hours. This is something that we did for a GROUP project and it took us 4 DAYS to do, not 2 hours. I'd recommend taking another teacher if you can, but other than this she's not terrible.
She is a nice woman but knows nothing about what she is teaching. There are 4 tests and a final. Read the textbook and do the ATI practice questions.
Not the same Emeghebo from the years past .. She found out that everyone was saying she was "really easy". she took it to heart and made the course more challenging. Still a good teacher though, definately record her and take good notes.
Her tests are not that easy so be prepare. Listen to everything she says because her test is based on what she says. Paper was very simple. If you are doing bad in the class, go talk to her and you'll be fine!!
Boring, I would recommend someone else. Medsurg1 make sure you have thorough notes. Research was EXCRUCIATING to sit through. Never looked at those notes or paid attention in class, ONLY READ THE TEXTBOOK.
She is NOT easy. She used to be, but not anymore. Boring professor, you walk out of the class learning a decent amount. MAKE SURE YOU RECORD HER CLASS AND TAKE GOOD NOTES. everything on the test is what she says in Class. ended up getting a B+ but had to work my butt off for it
She's nothing special. Skips most of her lecture and when you ask her to clarify on things she just says its all in the textbook. Gave a 3rd exam 1 week before finals. She's cruel and a terrible professor. Dont take her because you heard she's easy. shes not and u teach most of the course to urself.
She is an absolute sweetheart! Very approachable, has no problem meeting with you to discuss or clarify anything. She explains things. Take notes during lecture, write down the things she says multiple times, read the textbook and answer the questions at the end of the chapter and there is no reason why you wont do well!
After taking MedSurge I for the second time, Professor Emeghebo was like a breath of fresh air. She was very specific in her lectures, and her guidelines were very clear. The trick to the course is: READ THE TEXTBOOK, DO THE PURPLE ATI BOOK THAT MOLLOY GIVES YOU (Test questions are very similar style), PARTICIPATE, ASK QUESTIONS, PRACTICE SKILLS!
She is EXTREMELY boring. Lectures are a true waste of time. She takes everything directly from the textbook. Get the textbook and highlight, take notes and just print the notes and read them both alongside each other. Tests are pretty straightforward. Two papers, one by yourself and another with a group. Choose your articles ahead of time.
Dr. Emeghebo is a real gem! She will help you if you go to her. Just memorize her powerpoints and record her lectures and listen to them. She tells you key things that are on the tests. Her tests are straight from her notes. So many grading opportunities. She really has your best interest at heart. Love her! Would take her again.
Loved this professor. Very fair. She tells you what you need to know for the test. She was more than fair with the papers as well. I'd definitely take her again. Record her lectures, Study her powerpoints, Do the ATI questions!
She is the best proff. ever. She is also a very humble person. she is always there to help you. I suggest anybody who want to learn to take her, because she teaches good, lectures are long yes but it worth it. Record her lectures and take good notes you will be fine.
Emeghebo's tests are fair, but she doesn't engage the class. You need to record her because its very hard to pay attention.
Nice woman but it's tough to pay attention. She just reads off the slides.
Professor emeghebo is very caring and genuine professor that wants to see her students succeed. Her lectures provide great information and great learning opportunities but only when she does not feel rushed. When rushed she tends to go so fast through the powerpoint that you will not be able to grasp anything she says. Besides that i would take her
She seems like she is a nice lady but will randomly make her test hard. The final was hard and confusing. She waites to grade the paper until after the final. She says she based the grades for the paper off of review from group partners however she gave half the group a lower grade then the other half for no reason. She talks a lot.
Is not accessible outside of class. Very disorganized and does not have clear grading criteria. Would not voluntarily take her again.
Prof. Emeghebo made research extremely boring and harder than it really is. She basically reads off of powerpoint . Exams were difficult as well because the topics weren't well reinforced. I wasn't sure how to go about the papers because not much instructions were given apart the rubric. Try to get someone else.
Great Professor, Does care for you but makes things so much harder then they need to be. Very unclear on paper rubric and syllabus
Difficult to fail her class. She is very clear about what she expects. Her exams are directly from her notes but her lectures can be very long and boring. She lingers too long on pathophysiology and loses time to go in-depth into the other half of the powerpoint. Her research paper is disorganized. Doesn't explain and grades after the final.
Class is hard but its medsurg so it should be. The professor was not approachable, nor does she care for her students. If you question a test question she gets defensive. You need to read the textbook and study slides. Everything the says in lecture is fair game so memorize it word for word. An A is possible but its incredibly hard.
Prof. Emeghebo made research a lot more difficult than it needed to be. She takes her notes directly from the book & repeats what the textbook says word for word in lecture. Exams were difficult. Zero guidance for the papers, she did not mention them in class. Only listed on the syllabus. She was often confused and lost her train of thought a lot!
Do not take her for research!! Her lecture is extremely boring and her slides hardly make sense. Her grades for papers are not fair or accurate. By November we only had 1 grade in so you have no idea how youre doing in the class until the very end because she crammed everything into the last 3 weeks of class.
Sometimes the lectures are a little boring, but the professor is approachable and is willing to talk to students. Her tests are straightforward and she is clear on what she expects. Its really hard to fail her Medsurg.
Just do your work and show up. She's nice and she's fair. You'll get an A.
A horrible Professor. Her lectures put everyone to sleep. Her powerpoints dont correlate to whats on the tests. Doesnt reply to students emails ever. Overall, rude professor & would never take her again.
Horrible, boring, I dont recommend her.
Prof E is a very sweet lady & truly cares about her students. However, I would not take her again. She lectures for a full 3 hours (it will put you to sleep) and her tests are difficult, in order to pass you cant rely on her slides.. you need to read the textbook. I will say she did make this transition to online easier during this crazy time!
Lectures feel very long, its hard to focus on what she is saying. She goes very in-depth about certain disease processes when not necessary. Tests are challenging but not impossible. She is a nice lady, I would take her again but she wouldnt be my first option.
Got a good grade but learned absolutely nothing from this class. I left MS 1 feeling like I knew absolutely nothing. Reads straight from the textbook and powerpoint with no further explanation of what they mean. A kind lady but a horrible professor. Tests are okay but everything you think she isn't going to test you on is what she tests you on.
Professor Emeghebo is a pretty solid teacher. She does become boring as the semester drags on but regardless, If you spend the time taking notes off what she says in lecture, you should be fine. Tests are pretty straight forward so study the notes and Prep U. Group project was also an easy A. Overall an okay professor.
This class can be stressful at times - but all of her information is in her panaptos, provides a review list. Panaptos are long, record the recordings voice over into word or onenote and go over autocorrects and it'll help tremedously!! Dont skip her panaptos! Provides a group paper, prepU assignments and ATI as extra things added onto grade.
I would definitely say you will walk out of her class knowing a lot. Being that this semester was remote, it was not easy to sit myself down and listen to a 2 hour long lecture. 2 hours turned into 6 hours with continuous pausing to write. Medsurg is not an easy class but I felt like her exams were straight forward and fair. She is a sweetheart.
Dr. Emeghebo is a very caring professor and genuinely wants to see her students succeed. With that being said, she makes you work for your grade (like most nursing professors do). Definitely listen to her panoptos, even if they're really long. PrepU really helps, plenty of grading opportunities. You will learn so much from her class!
Dr emeghabo is the epitome of mediocrity . She is a lazy professor . When the semester was online she was not teaching over zoom leaving students to teach themselves . Her tests are fair if you study her slides dont listen to her and study the textbook its a waste of time.
She is not bad as some of the students are saying I mean I didn't have a bad experience with her. just listen to her ponapto and write what she said, do pre up questions I mean a lot of pre up questions. She respond to email quick. I didn't have a bad experience with her.
There aren't a lot of options for this class but I heard she was the better option. Her lectures were far from enjoyable. You have to listen to a 3-hour panapto before class just for her to go over it again in a 3-hour lecture. Manage your time well, it's the only way to get through this class. She is a nice person, but not a good teacher.
Emeghabo's class I had to study for this class as much as MED SURG II. She has a research paper and a group paper that helps boost your grade. Main warning for this class that I have is to read the textbook, her slides do not cover enough information alone.
The hardest part of the class is deciphering what information is important. She rambles for 3 hours on a panopto then again for 3 hours in class. Often says things that are incorrect (most recently, she said hypertrophy is losing muscle) or don't make sense. According to her, everything is important to know which is not true. Shes a nice person tho
3 Hour Panoptos followed by a 3 hour lecture - NO BREAK WHATSOEVER!!! You will dread this class. She does not stop talking. She will legit talk for the full 3 hours of lecture. Exams were fair but you don't know what information is important to know for her exams. Her reviews do NOT help. 3 exams plus final, a 10+ page research paper, and 5 ATI's.
Tests are fair but it's hard to know what to study. She will talk for the full 3 hours straight without any breaks. Group research paper has to be at least 10 pages and final is kind of hard. An A in the class is possible I guess but it's not easy whatsoever. Emeghebo gives out wrong info all the time and doesn't know what's going on ever.
I thought her panoptos were good but extremely long. It became tiresome to take notes on those long panoptos & then attend the class on top of that. I did well but I think that is bc of the notes I took and actually listening to the long panoptos. She is caring and kind, meets with you outside of class if you need.I thought exams were fair. Not bad
She herself struggles with teaching us new information. She would often times give us WRONG information and will never take accountability for it when approached about it. Her class was very long and tiresome and didn't allow any breaks. She rambles for 3 hours. Her exams are OKAY but you never know the outcome of it. I suggest another professor.
She's a sweet woman. I think teaching online is what messed her up. She genuinely wants students to do well. Tests are very fair if you study hard. Group paper is not bad. Lectures are very long and heavy with no break, but again it may be different in person. Not horrible overall... I did learn a lot. Textbook is needed to clarify some topics.
Took her for Research in person. Made us watch panoptos before class and then skimmed over the material during lecture. Somehow she still used the entire 3 hours. Three tests, a group paper, group presentation and individual paper. There are definitely better professors for Research - don't take this class with her!
This class requires more work, and studying then critical care. Avoid at all cost, but if you have to take read the textbook, and the questions in back of each chapter. She assigns 1 solo paper and a group paper and presentation with minimal instructions, so ask questions. She rarely responds to emails so ask in class.
Long lectures with her reading off of PowerPoints. The professor is unclear on topics, how is she going to teach the class. Hard to get professor who are interested in the topic and passionate about teaching
Expects u to watch her videos (45+ mins long each) b4 class (3 times over) and then talk about the topic in class without a power point up as a guide. So disorganized, confusing, and forgetful. 5 assignments are posted in the morning and are due the same night. Talks about time management, but if u miss a clinical, gives u the makeup months later.
Had discussion posts and quizzes for modules. Tough grader and takes a long time to grade. Exams were hard. You have to know every single definition in the textbook to pass. She sent extra credit which is to attend a research event at Molloy. However, she sent it late which was after the event passed so there's no point in extra credit.
Sweet lady! Personally not my fave professor. Barely any content in the ppts so if you skip class, you won't do well AT ALL. If you have her you'll be fine as long as you read the textbook and study key points. She gives review sheets for exams which is nice and we had extra credit.
I did not like her at all. Her teaching style is awful and you basically have to teach yourself the material. She would make us watch papnaptos that were 3 hours long and did not have class. Then she would be surprised when students did not do well on exams. YOU HAVE TO READ THE BOOK her lectures are super heavy and you will be there the whole time
She lectures for hours. Sometimes she would spend over 20 minutes on just one slide. On top of that she just reads from the textbook. She wants you to pass, but in order to do that you have to teach yourself. make sure to read the books on every chapter because it helps during exams.
Dr. Emeghebo is a good professor who actually cares for her students, for the students that are complaining about her. We are not going for just a regular degree. We will be nurses in couple of years it's nursing school it's going to be hard. Some of you just need to grow up and face the reality.
she lectures the entire duration of the class, some weeks she records panoptos and makes you listen to them before the next class and says she will not elaborate on the information because we should already know it. a lot of self teaching and asking her to clarify info she often gives conflicting info on.
Dr Emeghebo was thrown into being our professor for this course as our old one abruptly left. She is a tough grader, but as long as you follow her requests and know how to write in APA format you will be fine. Paper grade is a grade booster. If I tried harder on weekly work, I would have easily gotten an A.
This class may be enticing to take because it's online, but she is a difficult professor. She nitpicks the homework. Also, this class takes up way too much time. She wants 1 weekly discussion post, 2 replies but on a different date and a quiz each week. The quizzes are write in and she expects paragraphs for each one. Take anyone else.
This professor was good for this course but very frustrating with APA format for discussion questions.. very specific on the grading criteria and needs references on everything
she's okay to take for this course. the discussions are out of 100 which is so annoying so make sure you cite and answer them good. textbook for each discussion and make sure only ONE person submits the group paper or she'll flip out. its not stated anywhere so be mindful. she's rude and gets smart over email.
Sweet lady but her lectures were so boring, reads off of a piece of paper which was basically right from the textbook. I recommend recording the lecture and write down every little thing she says bc her ppts are vague. Posts panoptos and expects you to watch all of them and will not re-discuss them. Class is doable if you put the work in for it.
TAKE DR. EMEGHEBO FOR MED SURG 1!!! She's so sweet and I learned so much from her. She really goes in depth with the material and tends to emphasize what's important during lecture. Even though lectures are long, pay attention and TAKE NOTES DOWN. Heavy content so don't wait until the last minute to study. Exams were very fair!!!!
This class was doable, but it's important to stay on top of the weekly work and follow the rubric closely for discussions and replies. The paper is a grade booster. The final is challenging if you haven't retained information from the semester, and not everything on the exam is included in the study guide.
Lectures were long & boring. She reads off of a paper and rambles for 3 hrs straight. Make sure to write every single thing she says in class down!! She gives an outline for each exam but they are not accurate so its better to study the whole thing. She would constantly stutter and contradict herself during lecture and mess up information often.
She's very lecture heavy and tends to straight up read off a piece of paper. she rambles on and on on the same slide for so long and posts panaptos that are over 2 hours after class because we ran out of time. tests were okay but would've been better if she would just get to the point of the lecture rather than rambling for the entire period.
very lecture heavy and boring but a sweet lady who cares about us and our future, her study guides are too broad so go through all her ppt and the test questions will be there, easy A for medsurg 2
She's okay but overly nitpicky when it comes to grading discussion posts (out of 100). Make sure your APA is perfect. You have to use the textbook and another nursing journal source for each discussion. Some of the weekly quizzes are short answers at least in the beginning it was.
Amazing Professor! Sets you up for success. Lectures are long but she gives you the material needed to do well on the exams and overall I enjoyed her class! Would definitely take again - very caring professor
Take Dr. Emeghebo for both Med Surg 1 and Research, I recommend her! For Med Surg 1, learned a lot and exams were fair. For Research, As long as you follow her directions for discussion points you will do well. She's a fair grader for assignments. Watch panoptos, helps for discussion posts and studying for final. Final was okay, make sure to study
nice but lectures are long, reads straight off a sheet of paper, and contradicts herself a lot. tests were easy as long as u took good notes, she lets u know what's impt during class. reviews were broad, don't bother. group project wasn't bad, just the way it was split up was weird. pre/post test b4 and after class. take 4 easy A but don't be lazy
Caring person, but ok professor; the lectures are very long. Be sure to take good notes and focus on key points she covers, I felt I was being led blind into each exam. No review sheets, so you need to study everything. Tests were fair if you studied hard. Speeds thru lectures after exams, which was annoying. reach out if struggling/test reviews
i repeat do not take her, she can be sweet sometimes but most of the time a D RIDERRRR she yaps so much keeps us till very last min took her for FST so maybe it was the class also but she did WAY TO MUCH considering how dumb the class is.
