Good teacher, but doesn't give anyone a break. 3 test of 25 multiple choice make up your entire grade. I missed a C by one lousy point, he takes role and I only missed one class, and didn't give me a C. I don't think attendence counts for anything.

Boring and very dry...but fairly easy class...very informative class

kinda difficult class; use the study guide and Wiley and you'll do fine on the test; takes attendence so go to class-won't help you in getting extra points but will hurt you if u miss class.

Great prof. - real life examples in class - makes learning law about as interesting as it can be. Tests relate well to the notes taken from lectures and the CPA book - Great Professor!!!

Great professor. Dont waste your money by buying the book though. Just buy study guides. Tests are easy and class is an easy A.

He's not a super easy prof. I had to do some major studying for the 1st and 3rd tests. But the second is right out of the study guide. He is super funny, and has great stories.

Prof. Trosch is an awesome teacher. He is very entertaining, and his examples made me laugh. First class I actually enjoyed attending. Tests are difficult though. You have to study the book, notes, CPA, and study guide to do well.

He knows his stuff, the second exam is straight from the CPA exam book. He is a good teacher and he is funny. I enjoyed his class very much!

Great professor. Highly recommend. I got an A, but i had to work for it. The second test is very easy, but the 3rd isn't. Think twice before bringing bottled water to his class.

Pretty easy class if you have regular attendance. Made a B despite taking the 8 am class. Pretty funny guy who tells it like it is.

Great class, Prof. Trosch is a funny guy, he loves to joke and tells funny stories that make class a little more interesting. I didnt buy the book for this class I only purchased the 2 study guides and got an A! I missed a few classes and still did well, pay attention and use the study guides and you will do well.

One of the best at Belk College. Mandatory attendance but you'll like his lectures so much that you'll have no reason to skip class. The only book I bought was the CPA exam study guide. I used that and my notes from class and made an A. Only 3 exams make up your grade so take good notes and study the guide well. A true asset to UNCC.

HILARIOUS! take notes! study your notes for the 1st exam, cpa for the 2nd, & both for the last one. Dont buy the book, you don't need it. I had this class @ 8am & never missed a class cuz he was soo funny & a great teacher. I HIGHLY suggest him for this class!

Tells interesting anecdotes and sure kept everyone awake even though it was an 8 am MWF class; take notes and come to class to sign the attendance; you need CPA exam review for the 2nd exam and to a lesser degree for the 1st and 3rd; I bought the text and never even opened it and got a C; overall kinda tough material but good teacher

Funny guy, strict attendance policy, some tests have the questions come straight out of guide, bumps up grade at the end of the semester if you are close.

Fairly nice guy. Knows his stuff! Asks unclear ?s in class and will make you feel a little stupid at times. Tests are a little tricky, know the DETAILS! No more test just from CPA guide. You really have to study now. Attendance is mandatory and necessary. But he makes it pretty light on you. Don't take the three hr class if possible though.

By far the best business teacher I've encountered. He has a law degree and is very smart and funny. Aside from the material he likes to give advice about life. 3 exams, 25 questions each, I suggest to use all of your resources to study for exams.

Interesting and entertaining class, worth getting up early for ( 8:00 am ). Take good notes (record lectures to fill in the blanks after class) and it's best to read the book before class. Trosch is awesome, you have got to take his class!! If you do your part you can make an A!!

This professor works in legal field and has a great amount of knowledge that he shares with class. Case examples he gives in class they are used on his tests. Grades made up entirely of 3 tests. He makes the class interesting and entertaining. I believe he will only teach blaw in spring 2010. He the professor to take.

You dont belong in the Belk College of Business if you dont at least get a B in this class with minimal effort.

Trosch is hilarious and understandable. His class is an easy 'A'- he gives you exactly what is going to be on the test! But go to class and pay attention to his examples, which he uses on the tests.

No need to buy the book, but the homework companion has many of the questions that will be on the tests. 3 35Q tests are your only grades, and they're easy. Very low-stress class. Trosch is fantastic. Take him before he retires!

Dr. Trosch is a great professor!!!I really liked all of his examples because they were useful for the exams. Also, all his tests come from the notes and examples. Furthermore, you will learn a lot from his lectures!!!

Great Professor!Dont be surprised to hear a little profanity-but nothing that doesnt make his points funny & comprehendable.He's got lots of real world & teaching experience.His just as funny and knowledgable son(a NC judge)taught a few lectures. I went to every class,but many I only saw on test day. 3 tests 35 questions, all from notes & class ex.

Funny old guy. I hardly ever went to class and didnt buy the book and still managed to swing a B. If you go to class and are a decent student you should be fine. total grade is based on 3 35-question tests including a non-comprehensive final. tests were fairly hard, but the last two had 10pt curves. TAKE HIM!

Really nice professor. Tries to use profanity to keep the students attendance. GO TO CLASS! Take notes and ask questions and you will be fine.

Lou Trosch Senior and Junior are both funny and fantastic teachers. I looked forward to this class. If you can type fast, take a lap top and take notes word for word. I only opened the book twice and rocked an A off those notes. Form a study group too - sometimes other classmates get a concept better than you do, plus they encourage you to study.

only three tests throughout the course. he is the funniest teacher i have ever had. the first test was easy, second one got harder, and the final one was even harder. Just read the book, and he tells you exactly whats going to be on the test.

Hands down the best prof I have had at UNCC. If you have to take this class, take it with him! Smart, energetic, and very funny. He knows his stuff. Tests are all from his lectures so if you attend class you will be solid. Easy A.

Very nice guy. Can be boring at times. If you read the textbook, you won't have to attend the lectures. No hw. attendance not mandatory. One extra credit assignment worth 5pts on first test. 3 tests +final. Only real beef with him is when he vocalizes an occasional extreme [socialist] opinion (but does signify it as an opinion).Overall, good class

Amazing teacher! Def Take HIM!!! his tests are straight forward, he is funny, uses real life examples and he uses the same examples year after year so you can use the Koofers notes to study instead of buying the book :)

There are 2 professors. The one you see when you register is the Jr. He is cool. 3 hour evening class was not bad. He does not use ppt, however he does use the board to write if necessary. Mostly lecture. No HW. Reading helps if you want an A, but you can pass without it. Tests are easy if you come to class because of his examples. Maybe A- ?

Go to class and don't rent the book. Anything he says during class and the examples he uses is what he will test on. I had a 4 hour night class over the summer twice a week and he did everything he could to liven it up and keep it as fun as possible. He gives a big curve for all tests and the final is NOT cumulative!! I actually enjoyed it!

It's important to note that there is a Lou Trosch Sr. and Lou Trosch Jr. I had Jr., but his dad Sr. did fill in for him twice. Jr. is very funny and knowledgeable. No homework. Three tests for the semester, the last being the non-cumulative final. 10 point grading scale. Attending his lectures are essential to pass the tricky tests.

Professor Trosch is a great! Even though this class was a 3 hour night class, he still tried his best to make the material interesting. I did wish he provided a presentation of some sort to make it easier to follow along in class. If you are able to write down what he says in class, that's what you should focus on for exams.

He came in mid semester as a fill in for our professor, and did a great job. For a 3 hr night class he tried his best to keep it interesting and would explicitly tell us when something would be on the exam. Makes a lot of real world examples and tells stories from his work to keep it interesting. Definitely take him and get your hands on old tests

Trosch is seriously one of the best professors!! His lectures are so useful, funny, & enjoyable. There's only 3 tests but if you take notes and really study them you will do fine because of the examples he gives. Very similar to the examples on the test & that helps a lot! I've learned so much from him & great personality too!

He's awesome! Going to class is the key to doing well. Didn't use the book much, you can get everything you need out of lectures. Take good notes and study them for the exams & you should be fine. He usually tells you what to expect on the exams throughout the lectures. Occasionally offers extra credit. 3 tests determine your grade. Take him!!

I enjoyed taking Professor Trosch's night class. He makes the night class enjoyable and does a great job of relaying the material. Bought online version of book which, all you have to do is weekly online assessments and three tests (in class). Attendance is not mandatory but I highly recommend going. Take good notes, will help on tests.

3 hour night class and he usually keeps you the whole time, but he makes the lectures interesting and he has some pretty good stories. 3 non-cumulative exams and an online component. The exams can be a little tricky, but he curved all 3. Use the online test prep to study for the exams.

Very cool guy who somehow managed to make a 3 hour night class go by relatively quickly. He speaks with a lot of energy and gives interesting real life examples for all the content. There are only 3 tests and 10 easy homework assignments. Tests are only on what he goes over in class and he does not release power points.

Professor Trosch is clearly passionate about what he does. He knows his subject matter very well and does a good job making the lectures current. There is nothing hard about this class. He is very clear about what will be on tests and prepares you well for them. His Dad substitutes occasionally and is equally hilarious. Would recommend for BLAW!

Really funny professor but there are only three tests in the class, so you need to do good on them. The tests are all based on the lectures, so if you skip, you wont pass. Also, he will tell you beforehand what will be on the test, so if you study those, there is no problem. Gave us two extra credit papers. Really funny and his stories are great.

Lectures are like listening to a comedian who also happens to be a lawyer; there's never a shortage of crazy stories, and the humor helps pass the time. Grades are based entirely on three exams, although he did offer a few extra credit papers for my class. Attendance is not required, but highly recommended if you want a good grade.

Used his professional experience as a judge to create interesting lectures that are relatable to real scenarios. Doesnt expect a lot of students and if you clarify your questions youll do well.

This was easily one of my all time favorite classes since I have been attending UNCC. Not only did he teach us the material in an understanding manner but it was incredibly engaging. He draws from his real life experience as a judge to formulate captivating lectures. Lastly, you can tell he truly cares about his students and their success.

Professor Trosch has great humor. He makes the dreaded 3 hour lectures easier to sit through with all his stories. I also felt like I learned a lot from his way of teaching. 3-5 page paper every 2-3 weeks and 3 tests total. Easy grading on his papers and just study for his tests and you'll be fine.

Highly recommend professor Trosch. His lecture are so interesting and makes the three hours go by super fast. Tests are easy. Go to class, Go to his test review, and you will do fine.

This course is graded off 1 combined homework assignments along with 3 tests. The combined homework assignment is 5 briefs written throughout the semester. He's is a wonderful human and truly cares about his students and the content he teaches. If you are a good test taker and enjoy lectures this is the course for you.

I mean for a 3 hours lecture he does a great job. Pretty interesting but test can be tricky, attending the lectures help.

If you are looking for an easy BLAW class this is not it but if you do enjoy lectures and attending class you will do fine, the test are very tricky but if you attend the lecture you will be straifght.

It's a 3 hours long lecture, and it's draining even when we get to go on a tangent about something. Make sure you go to class even though it's not required, cuz you need to take notes on what he says. Tests are pretty hard, and you also have to write 5 legal briefs, but he's pretty forgiving on the quality of the briefs at least

Great teacher at UNCC. Business law is used everyday. Contract law, purchase order, breach of contract. Great class. I wish the rest of my classes at UNCC were this good.
