I would have nothing but bad things to say but with my grades I should have failed, but he passed me, and I don't know why. But it's a hard class.
Way too much notes, about 2 inches total for semester; and he will test you on everything. Don't even think about taking his summer class, unless you plan on getting less than 5 hours sleep.

Prof. Crescitelli is not a very helpful prof. his idea of teaching our class was as though he was teaching a BIO class at Rutgers. I think this teacher needs to hand back his teaching degree.
Although he doesn't curve, nor drops any exams, the exams are not that hatd, as long as you can survive his horrible lectures, he talks for hours without any interaction, if you want to take him, make sure, you are good at the subject
Bio 1 with him was extremely easy, if you did not get at least a B then you were asleep. Bio 2 was very difficult. He lectures alot, but is very clear and concise. if bio is your thing and you dont mind studying alot take him u will love the challenge.

bio 1 & 2 tests are pretty tough because they're multiple choice, but if you pay attention and take notes you'll be alright i took him for bio 1&2 and i got a B+ in both.
Crescitelli is a joke His tests r a pain&he doesnt believe in review or prep before an exam. A word of advice if u have Dr. C don't bother buying the text book, he never even makes reference 2 it @all. All u do is sit© notes from the board

Expect to put more work into his BIO II class than any other class. Studying the night before WON'T WORK! He's a nice, gentle human being but very dull and monotone, (lacks personality and interest) If you make it to the semester's end you can make it through anything. Buy his notes, not the text.
good prof...book is $$$, and you don't even use it (good source though/book helps clarify stuff while studying) tests are hard...STUDY...tests are from notes, don't miss class, that's a day of notes....absences are not excused in any way, so try not to exceed, try to be on time too..but nice guy

DR. C is a very nice man...but that dosen't cut it... he tried to teach us how to use the scale in lab...but as he was demonstrating he gave us his back and blocked the scale!!! this class is only him talking and the students sleeping!!! Bad choice!!!

stay away. you've been warned. take lowe for bio instead. he was going to make us responsible for a chapter on the test that we never covered b/c he was absent that day. he only changed his mind b/c the entire class responded in a huge uproar after he announced this. he's just a miserable person.

i dnt know what the people below me are talkin bout but dey r wrong.yea there is a ton of notes but its bio what do you expect.but he wrote all of his notes for the semester in a book and he suggests u buy it.i also suggest you BUY IT cause that book is the greatest.guy is easy and extremenly helpful and clear.i m glad i didnt listen to the others

he gave alot of notes but the notes were the exam and the exams were easy as long as you read the notes no need for buying the expensive book i didnt even crack it open once.
Finally some people who enjoyed his class!! Bio is not a easy subject so dont expect a walk in the park. Read the nnotes a few times and i guarantee you will ace the exams. I aced all the exams. Its college people, you actually have to do work now.

If you're taking bio 203 with Cresticelli expect to have your gpa shot. Biology is a very difficult subject but this man makes it harder than it has to be because his tests are no where near what he teaches. The people in my class used to complain to him all the time how he didn't teach us or tell us to go over any of the things he put on the tests
He is pretty tough at first but once you get a hang of studying his book and the way the tests are presented you shouldn't do bad. I got a B in the class, because I got an A in the lab. If your going to take him be preapre to study a lot. He doesn't curve at all just drops the lowest grade. I would recommend Professor Highley he is better.

He is fine teacher. I have not opened the book yet. All his tests are fomr the notes. Know the names he gives he like the names. Take in in lab for he makes it very easy. This is a hard class in to it self. You have to put time into it and if you do you will be fine.
Very boring; writes notes and speaks in a monotone voice. No homework, but very strict about attendance. Tests are medium difficulty. He doesn't answer questions often/well. Not very clear. Doesn't use textbook. Note: I had him only for lecture. Mediocre overall.
This professor is serious! 9 pages of notes back and front on the first day. If you are not a science major don't even think about taking this guy. He will have your GPA go down.
Unit tests consisting of 4-10 chapters per unit. Each Lab exam includes diagrams + fill-ins + essays. Lecture Exams are a mix of multiple choice, fill-in, and 2-5 essay questions. Definitely a very detailed and time consuming course. Professor may seem intimidating but is very approachable as long as you're not a moron who asks stupid questions.
I agree with the rating below me.. if you get on his good side and try to listen to his lectures... AND study his notes.. you can get a good grade- I got an A because I studied hard and asked him for extra help- He even had a private group study for the test with me and a few others... He is very smart.. lectures are long, but decent. Just study!

he is by far the worse professor ive had in a long time. he is strict and makes your life miserable. you MUST memorize everything about his study guide in order to try and pass. unit test with minimum 6 chapters..no word bank. 2nd test class average was a 53 and he refused to give extra credit or curve the test. my GPA is suffering bc he cant teach
His tests are not difficult at all if you study. I got c on the first one and then an A. I didn't take his labs seriously so grade suffered a bit. The most boring teacher i've ever had in my life. Guy would put you to sleep even if you had a large hot latte. But his class is not that difficult just study and you'll be fine

I really liked Cresictelli! He writes everything on the board, which can get boring at times - but if you write everything down and study from those notes you will do great on the tests. His tests are not hard at all - entirely MC. Labs were easy, but lab quizzes were somewhat hard only because there are lots of diagrams to memorize!
long story short he is the most boring and unhelpful teacher ever. I was absent from lab and he didn't even give me a retake he just put it in as a zero. I really do not like this professor. He would talk and talk in lecture and he doesn't even try to help you pass. DON'T TAKE him. I basically gave up pharmacy beacuse of him.
He is kinda hard but he's really a college-level professor unlike many others. I'm not guna lie, i did study my ass off and got an A+, but you do have to study. The good thing is that he gives you a study guide nd u need 2 study only form it, read and retain, study with time and thats all, you dun need to listen to his lectures tho but go2 class

I learned a lot from Dr. Crescitelli. He is clear about his expectations and provides a solid foundation for other life science courses. Serious students ignore the bad ratings. If you don't study and fail, I guess it feels good to come here and write bad stuff about the professor. The real, meaningful rating is on YOUR transcript for keeps!

If you want to major in science, then i guess this would be the right class. He talks to you as if you already knew Science terms!! HE knows his stuff but its a challenging hard class. HONESTLY, people were exaggerating when they wrote "STUDY A MONTH BEFORE, HE IS EXTREMELY HARD..." just pay attention in class, ask questions, do the reviews after each chapt. and study for the tests and lab quizes,U WILL DO FINE! he is very helpful too cuz he has open office hours and helps anybody that has a problem or missed materials.
His class is not General BIO.Zooology and plants bio.We wated tuition and time.
Do yourself a favor, don't take this professor. Lecture and labs are equally horrible. I just wish I would have checked the reviews before I took his class. No extra credit, no personality, does not get the student involved in the lectures. On the other hand if you like teaching yourself and having to read 9 chapters for a test, go for it.
worst teacher at bergen community college. ive been in this school for 2 years never had i seen such a selfish, careless teacher who doesnt care about the student, and talks to you like you graduated bio with a phd. dude this is bio 101 slow the hell down, and communicate. very lousy teacher and lousy notes. waste of time and money.
I got an A in his BIO2 class. Go to the class and pay attention; his tests are pretty easy because all questions are based on his lecture notes. Don't try to memorize in short time because you have A LOT to memorize.. If you study, his class is not that bad
I took Dr. C for General Bio 1. He actually helped me to like Biology. I still remember lots of what I learned. Great foundational class. Not difficult but you have to study. Very lecture-notes based exams. Thanks Prof!
Uncle Lou is a sweet guy. Hes not really my uncle. Anyways his tests are straight from the notebook he gives you. Go to class and listen and you will get a good grade. Very easy going.
this class is not easy. you really have to study and memorize what ever he tells you. if your not a bio major DON'T take his class because all you learn are plants and animals bio. his not strict with attendance, as long as you pass the exams you're good. he does have office hours. Make sure you spell words correctly, because spelling counts!
Lecture is very boring. Reads off of powerpoints that you can not have. Took him for bio 2 in the summer. I am passing his class but this is due to studying every night and teaching MYSELF the course. He is very knowledgeable about material though. Smart man, terrible teacher.
Ok I'll be honest, he's not hard, tests are actually pretty simple the only thing that makes him hard is the amount of information that needs memorizing but he himself is a very kind and helpful teacher. Yes if you're a bio major take this class it'll prepare you for the road ahead but if not, just be advised, this class is NOT an easy A, in fact far from it. I still enjoyed his class though, no matter what grade he gives me. I enjoyed the challenge of this course, it was one hell of a ride!
He is a great professor, the only thing is though that you need to memorize/read the chapters and they are so long. There are review questions in the back of the chapter, but only some of them show up on his exams. Also, his 4 exams are really hard, unless you know what you are doing.

One of the hardest professor in bergen. his tests are straight forward, don't drop lowest grade and his quizzes are much harder then his test. he have great knowledge of the material. but you really have to study hard for this class. if you are taking 3 or 4 classes don't take his class, it would be a night mare.
Quizzes are much harder than the test, does not review for test or quiz so you end up studying everything when half the material you study isnt really on there. Unless you understand bio without a problem he is your guy, if not stay away. Stares you down during tests & quizzes making you doubt yourself & be subconsious. Dont believe go ahead tryhim

Pretty tough class. Doesn't drop any grades. Be very mindful of keywords in text. Test are pretty straight forward but require A LOT of studying, which honestly most people at BCC aren't ready for, this isn't high school. This is a tough class a lot of memorization. You will work hard for the grade you receive.
Nice professor! He is passionate about the subject he teaches. There are lab quizzes and chapter exams. Read his study guides and you are good to go. He explains everything clearly. Do not wait until the last day to study. Would love to take his class AGAIN!
4 Lecture Exams, 6 Lab Exams. No dropped Exams, No extra creidts, no curves. The exams are very straightforward, no application, no critical thinking, but A LOT of memorization. I took 5 classes this semester and managed to get an A, so it's not impossible. He is very dry but hes not mean, just a bit strict.
He's not lenient. Dosent curve, or drop lowest grade so your gunna have to study really hard to pass this class. He does explain the material clearly so it shouldn't confuse you. He's one of the only professors teaching this class but he may be better than the other professors but prepare to study really hard!
This class was just an exercise in memorization. There was no development of critical thinking skills. Four tests 60% and five lab quizzes 40%. His tests are based on material from his study guide which you must buy. The sheer number of information you need to memorize can be overwhelming. He can test on anything and his tests change each semester.
Dr. Crescitelli's class was not that hard. The only thing that makes it hard is the amount of information required to know for course. Theres no easy way out of except sitting down and studying. He is very good at giving you everything thats going to be on the test and reviews all the information three times. His $27 study guide is all you need!
i didnt want to take him but i had no choice. Will never take him ever again.(i passed) he has the weirdest personality ever. never lets u out early during the lab. but the thing is he'll wait til youfinish clean up then assign st new stuff so that you need to set everything again and clean again? srsly whats wrong with him? he needs to retire duh!

He is the worst teacher I have to ever taken in my 3 years of being here. I've never experienced a professor who is so confusing. He goes into detail about each animal way too much and then you have no idea how much of it is on the exam or what really is. He has a studyguide & that will be you're only chance of passing. He doesn't help you at all!
For your own good disregard any comments that are in favor of this professor. I am a straight A student, put hours into studying, worked my booty off and still received 70s on the tests (which there are 4 of, no HW or EC, so good luck). Buy his study guide and you are set. You can take makeups once for lecture and laboratory. Labs are super boring, after three chapters into the semester, you are basically sitting there observing specimens and that's it. His very strict with attendance so don't miss any lectures. Won't permit any test taking in testing center.
Hes a nice guy, but there is way too much material to study for such a small test. Its very overwhelming. Just study everything in bold lettering on the study guide and you are good to go. His quizzes aren't that bad if you are good with diagrams. I def wouldn't take this class if you are taking any other hard classes because it will drag them down
I absolutely love bio. Bio is my strongest suit. But this professor made me think otherwise. If you are taking another hard class, do not take him. His tests are HARD. Don't buy the study guide? You will fail. I put a lot of hours of studying to get a failing grade and end up dropping the class one month before the semester was over.
He is Terrible
He is a good guy but doesn't know how to teach the students. Every time during the lectures, he just go on and on without even caring if student is getting his stuff or not. Biology is my subject but he took away my interest by making the class complicated than it was. Reading is important when it is given in its right way which he doesn't know.
This guy is terrible. I had no problem with Bio 100 or Bio 109-209. He does not drop any grades, no extra credit, and he doesnt even collect the labs. I would never reccomend him and if you do have the misforune of taking him, I highly reccomend you buddy up and study hard, and mabye youll have a chance. I couldnt because everyone in class dropped.
Makes you buy textbooks out of BCC Bookstore (one of which he wrote) and his lectures literally consist of him reading the book he wrote, word by word and copying the same exact thing on board. Tough grader on lab notebook!! Lecture tests are hard because you need to pretty much know EVERYTHING in any chapter he covers. Spelling counts a lot!!
Is he hard? Yeah. Is it impossible? Absolutely not. If you just memorize the lecture packets and set time aside to study you will be fine. All these people saying he's the hardest teacher ever just never studied and expected an A. I got a B at the end of the class, and am going to definitely take him for BIO 203.
I don't understand the negative ratings that other students have given this professor. If you buy his study guide and carefully study the lab manual for his quizzes, then you should find that his exams are fair. He is very knowledgeable about biology and is more than willing to help if you seek it. A respectable professor.
Just don't do it to yourself... he doesn't TEACH, he spends 20-30 minutes of lab time reading the lab report word for word but does not go beyond that. Did not give us a syllabus for the lab nor did he give us any heads up about an upcoming exam. Ridiculously tough grades, will take points off if your drawings aren't pristine... don't do it
Had him for lab & lecture, he was great! Although his lectures are extensive, they are very thorough & detailed, he's very knowledgeable. If you take down all his notes & comments, you will be guaranteed a good grade on tests/quizzes since he gives you all the info you need! He does many reviews before exams & has a study guide you should 100% buy!
Was nervous to take because of the bad reviews but I had no choice because I took for summer 1. It was so much easier than I thought it would be. It was online due to covid so maybe that's why but he provided the book, you answered questions on readings, and made your own tests which he graded. For a class you take in only a month time it was easy!
He was very nice. All information needed was provided, textbook material and more. You didnt need to buy anything, or even take notes. The tests were very easy, they came straight from the worksheets. He even graded my late work that was weeks late. Just make sure you take note of the tests so you can do them. But overall one of the best professors
This is the worst professor I have ever taken at bergen, I mean he confuses his students with what he wants in the work. How are we supposed to get good grades when you ask for something and it still wasn't the right answer?? Don't need to buy the books, but yet what he provides you with doesn't exactly have all the information he asks for!
He's alright. I took the class online which was not as hard as I thought but he provides the study material that you need. Tests/ homework was light
Okay here we go. Unanswered emails, my grade point average not being visible through the ENTIRE semester, extremely proposterous amounts of points taken off for minor errors, and the online class was obviously copied and pasted from last semester. It bewilders me that this professor is recieving a check for the semester off of this class.
Professor Crescitelli was good this semester. He was my lecture teacher for Bio101online so I did not have him in person. He does give feedback on the assignments and will tell you how to improve on them. He provided study guides which did help when it came to studying. Overall I did enjoyed Bio101 lecture and lab this semester.
Just do not take him if u don't wanna mess ur grades. Seriously he'll take off points for nothing and he's mean.

It was an online course and still he managed to be NEGATIVE PROFFESOR .Won't ever EVER EVER TAKE HIM again and do yourself a favor don't take him because he won't even answer your emails.Will take points off and write other terms on your assignments and suddenly u have -2 points deduction.
I will never take this professor again. This was an online course and he asks that you use his study guide to answer the Homework and Lab questions. When you use the exact answers from the study guide they're wrong. If you use your own resources to answer the questions, they're wrong. Also, the course is the same every year. No work done on hispart
My experience with his class was average—easier than taking BIO2 in person, for sure. For an online class, it wasn't bad, especially when using control + F to find information from the study guide. I would just copy and paste all relevant information from the study guide onto my Google Doc. Inaccessible via email, but grades very fast.
