He is a hard marker but a nice guy.
need more breaks

Great prof, very memorable! Don't be late for class and don't be disruptive!(he hates this) put's a lot into preparing for the class and expects the same back. lots of group work, some marks based on group assignments so don't sit with slackers.
Lou is a really good professor, he takes a lot of time preparing his lectures and makes an effort to balance theory with practical experience. He is also a really nice person, he gives credit when due and appreciates hard work.

The worst teacher i ever had, very subjective in his marking and hates when u do not show up to calss. Treats u as if ur still in high school!! if u have to option to not take him then DON'T
cannot stand him. one of the worst profs. treats u like ur still in HS. change your prof if u get him.
Pike was one of the worst Profs I have ever had. He has it out for some students and does a good job in making sure he is rude and does not offer help to individuals who he does not like.
Multiple choice is impossible so hard to get above 70%, good stories, but he is such a lost prof, yeah he does treat everyone like they are from HS, I won't recommend him, even if you try hard, tests only count for the mark in the end and group work sucks

Lou Pike shows favoritism…treats u like ur in high school. But, if u get on his good side (attend class and participate), he is a great guy and prof to have. MHR is a boring course tho.
He had good stories to keep you interested but it is nearly impossible to sit through the 3 hours of lecture (even thought he gives breaks). MC was the hardest. Make sure you know your stuff.
He is a tough prof but a fair one. He does a great job of preparing his lectures, but if you don't have a complete grasp of the concepts and definitions, you won't do as well as you may hope well.
Great Guy! Great teacher! I don't know what these people with negative comments are smoking. The class is fun with small exercises related to the topic of the class to help you see the practical uses of the topic/concepts. Just keep up with your readings and you'll do great!
The professor is well organized and straight to the point. He shows interest in his other students' comments and often helps to elaborate on what people are trying to say. He is the best professor that I have this semester.
WoooHOoooooo! he's the only prof who's actually honest with his students!
My favourite class this semester! He reinforces course concepts through fun and interactive games. Clearly tries hard for his students and deserves our respect. He is a wonderful professor and I highly recommend him.
I agree: experienced, insightful and respectful prof who delivers a well prepared course content through interactive exercises and multiple mediums. Stay uptodate with book chapters (be detailed and thorough), participate, continuously study; and you'll do fine. Heavily memory-based course however.
great prof. but don't go by his class notes during the test, remember everything from the book, honestly everything. test full of memory work which u won't catch in his classes. but he is a great teacher none the less.
good prof, but unfair evaluation process. This prof seems to be quite misleading.
as mentioned by others before, very unfair evaluation process, useless lectures but u have to go coz he marks u for participation, and even if u do go u won't get those marks anyways. this guy needs to review his "good" (to his standards) teaching style. Switch out if you're in his class.
If your are looking for a flexible and understandable prof, he is the guy. The course at first looks like bs, but as he goes over with the course you'll realize that there is a lot of interesting things.
thanks for making me change my major, jerk!
This is an overall fun class but the group project is VERY unfair!:(

Was too hard!
He wasn't THAT bad of a prof. If you read the book you'll pass for sure. Going to lecture isn't a necessity, show up for the first half and leave after attendance. Don't expect a lot from him; do the work/reading and you'll do okay in the class and pick your group CAREFULLY for the project. He just isnt interesting and he WILL fail you if u slack.
super nice guy, can be a bit cynical at time (for fun), knows how to joke around. very organized, knows what he's doing and very easy to talk to. if you read the textbook you'll be good for the exams. get mad when you don't go to class. overall he's awesome
No Comments
decent prof. easy to talk to. has a lot of experience so he isnt just reading from the powerpoint. tough marker though especially for the major project.
Great prof. Very easy to get along with and classes are interactive even though I hardly participated. If you want to get on his good side, don't disrupt his class and make sure you know basketball because he is a huge basketball fan. Highly recommended..
One of the best professors you'll ever had. If people insult him then it's because they are the ones who skipped class and dropped out... Prof. Pike is awesome, he talks to you as if you are a real person, he talks to you, not at you!. I have done college and uni. he is by far the best professor I've ever had. Very thorough, very intelligent + fun
He's a good prof, but his lectures can be a little tedious. He'll often go off on a tangent with a story or something, and waste time. His powerpoints are great though. Like any other class, if you do the work and pay attention you'll get good grades.
he is an amazing prof. he makes his classes fun. all of my frieds in other classes hates mhr but i loved it couse of pike. try to get him. you actually learn in his class while having fun.
Tough, but fair professor. You'll probably get better marks if he takes a liking to you, since he'll be easier to approach and just a little more "understanding" of any problems you have. Take this course with another professor.
Pike is an amazing professor. He's very approachable, very friendly and he enjoys to teach. A lot of people have given him bad ratings and it's obvious what sort of people gave him those ratings. I've done college, I'm going through University, trust me when I tell you that every teacher should teach like he does.
Great Prof!!! very interactive. Love his style of teaching. His little group projects helps you to remember the concepts very well. If you attend class and study the notes you will do well. Pick your group wisely. Very knowledgable and experienced in his field.
Didn't like his personality for some reason, but I still think that he's a very good prof. I found him to be easy marker, although some might argue with me. Does give full marks on tests.
Outstanding prof!
i finished my first year with a B+ average, and i loved every single professor, except for this one. he killed our reports, only 2 groups passed it (inclduing mine) but we had a D and the other had a C the other ones were F.
Excellent Prof! The classes were interesting, especially the labs. Don't miss your classes and answer the mid-terms and finals like he tells you to and marks come in pretty easy... Gave my group a 90% for our paper...and we didn't really have to work hard for it just use what we learnt in class...
The professor ir great. His lectures are very much interesting. He knows what he is teaching. Today would be my third class so yeah.. But he is great.... :)
he is really stereotypical, he said "it has been known by professors that asians do not get involved in class" and "i am giving a chance for you to prove me wrong". what the hell does race have to do with students not getting involved in a 3 hour class that is basically an exact oral version of his blackboard powerpoints and textbook?
Good prof but boring course
Amazing teacher. Very knowledgeable and interesting class! Would def. recommend him
He TRIED to make the class interesting such as showing movies, offer some games to us. But his lecture was too boring. And he was a really really hard marker, and kinda subjective, killed people's term papers.
Awesome prof. The group assignment for MHR 405 can be hard if you don't do it in advanced and don't do it well. Midterm is easy, so is the exam. Very good lessons, often let us out early. GREAT PROF!
I took it in the fall term, and I really loved his teaching style! the midterm is a piece of cake. the exam is just one case! lots of personal experiences and class discussions, and like said below, if you have an awesome group - the project goes amazing.
This course is so boring, read only the textbook, midterm was easy, term paper was marked unfairly, participation was rough. I dont think the teacher liked me all that much but what do i care. Overall useless course. If you can switch to another prof i recommend it.
One of the most competent professors at Ryerson. He knows his craft well. If you attend, pay attention to his lectures, and study periodically you will do well and of course be wise in choosing your team mates. Answer the questions in the exams the way he tells you and he will mark you fairly. I would recommend Prof. Pike.
He's really dry. He takes the material way too seriously,It's as if hes teaching to PHD students!.I dropped the course with him and took it with mazerolle and I got an A+. don't take this course with pike because me and a lot of people I know did and dropped/failed
he is a cute little old man. leave him alone.
He makes me laugh soooo much!!!!! He reminds me of Yoggie Bear, such a good Prof. LOVE HIM
Very interesting stories to tell, he knows his stuff. Do your work with some effort and you'll be fine, but be sure to follow the instructions!
Very nice guy, and knows his stuff. Makes an effort to get to know you. He is a Very hard marker. His ppt presentations are way too busy and long.
He is a very nice professor. His slides were very detailed but he doesn't post them. Attendance counts for mark. Thought his midterm were hard. His lectures were fun to attend to.
well i liked this proff bt somehow i ddnt get the course at all,hes not an easy marker bt if u read the text book and ask him to explain if u dnt understand, ull do juss fine
INTERESTING STORIES AND PRESENT HIS LECTURES IN A GREAT WAY. CAN TELL HES A PEOPLE PERSON. MIDTERM AND QUIZZES ARE EASY. ASSIGNMENT HOWEVER MARKS HARD EVEN THOUGHT ITS STRAIGHT FROM THE BOOK. FINAL IS MARKED REALLY WEIRD, BEST ADVICE IS TO GET HIGH MARK AS POSSIBLE AS FINAL CAN BRING YOU DOWN BY 5-15%. A GRADE IS POSSIBLE
Pretty cool prof.. has really interesting stories to tell that relate to the theories being learned. And he makes an effort to get to know his students.. he always poked fun at me for being italian... because he's a Jew from New York lol. Overall cool prof!
This guy marks too hard, and what is the point in telling us to grade our own participation if he lowers the mark. I regret taking him.
This guy has the dryest sense of humour. Loved it. His class is actually pretty entertaining and he marks pretty easy too. Good teacher over all.
I love his lectures. He uses a lot of examples to try to relate the content to real life, which is very helpful. He's a very engaging speaker, you'll like him!
You can get a lot out of his lab if you engage yourself and become genuinely interested. He makes it fun and when I was studying for the final and came upon a topic we covered I would remember what he did in class and it made it a super easy course. I don't know what people are talking about, hard marker? I followed the instructions and got A+'s.
The mark you'll get in this class will depend on how much participation you put in class and how involved you get. He gives great real life examples every class and his powerpoint slides are easy to remember as well. Do the readings before coming to class to reinforce the lectures.
Great prof - has many many real life examples as he's been in the industry and actually lived it. Participation is key as he expects the class to discuss.
Lou is probably the best professor I've had in my 3 years of university. His lectures are very fun, engaging and really clarify the material talked about in the text. He is very fair and funny in sarcastic kind of way. If you participate in class, attend the lectures, and follow directions (particularly the detailed course outline) you will do w
I've had courses with him. Good prof, his mood starts changing after midterm period. He marks team projects extremely hard. MHR is a bird courses but you need to study! Understand where each concept will apply, because he gives real life examples on the exam and wants you to figure out the definition or the theory. M/C, the answers are very similar
I thought the professor was a "cool little old man" until he totally messed up my mark on the final. The final was HARD and very different from the mid-term. Its not a hard course, and the prof is actually kind of fun - until the Final Exam that is..
Great professor if you are involved in class. Has great real world stories which relate to the course content. Quite easy to talk and participate in class, makes everyone feel comfortable in class.
He is an interesting professor but very rude at times and marks very weirdly. Gives people random mark without any valid cause. may give u 0 cause u handed in late....whereas u r allowed to get a late mark
Great proffesor, really gets you into what would be otherwise dull materal. Uses a lot of movie references and examples to explain the theories. He is laid back and funny but won't tolerate slackers, good for him.
He is not an easy marker unless you are one of his favourite students. Very disrespectful in the way he talks to you and does not allow discussion on an issue. Yelled at a student in front of the class once the class had started. Other than the boring lectures he needs to learn how to respect his students if he wants the same in return.
The man is a lost cause. Horrible maker, no use of any types of electronics in class. If he catches you, you have to leave the class. Very rude and everything has to be done his way. Should not be a teacher, And you should avoid taking his class.
This prof is definitely the worst in the world. I don't even know how I made the biggest mistake in my life and took his class that I thought to be extremely boring. He is way too old to mark papers! He screwed up everyone's mid-term, as well as the final! He is extremely disrespectful. If he likes you he'd pass you and vise versa as he's biased.
Similar to other comments...rude...hard marker that will paint your papaer red.
This guy is a piece of work. Honestly nothing could be more boring than one of his lectures. Louis Pike is very hypocritical, unfair and loves to play favourites. If you are forced to listen to his unbelievably boring lectures/BS I feel sorry for you.
This is the worst prof i've ever take in Ryerson. I dont know why ryerson will still hire him, 1/2 of the class failed the midterm and 1/4 of the people failed the final exam. all the individual things are writen, 5 essay question in 2 1/2 hr minimum 2 page each, it is ridiculous to take courses with him
Don't listen to any of these comments, he is the best prof I have ever had. He interacts and tells stories like no other prof. By far my favourite!
Actually a pretty good prof. Tells lots of stories, and gets students involved in discussions too. May seem a little boring at first, but he seems like a prof that does care about his students learning the material.
He's actually an Ok guy and his classes are interesting. The subject tends to be quite dry but he tries to engage students in discussions to make it more bearable. Advice: don't miss class, show him yr interested and make sure you know his material & book.
Prof Pike is a great guy! I wanted to switch out at the beginning when I read the comments on this site about him. But i went ahead and took the course. I did no regret it at all! Classes were amazing! Ensure you participate. Mid term and final were really challenging.Read the book thoroughly. Pick your group members wisely for the team paper !
One of the best profs ever!!! He made the class interesting and he's very social. Loved the course.
Awesome prof! He's not mean/rude folks - he's old school and full of wit. Work hard in his class, know the theories/concepts. Participate in class and make an effort to understand the material. Visit him during office hours, very helpful. Does not like spoon-feeding info to students, his instructions are crystal clear and always posted on BB.
Great Professor
People says hes rude old man, but hes cool and chill. YES HE IS SARCASTIC, BUT!! its fun sarcastic not so much rude sarcastic, like the class laughs with him when he does it. GREAT PROF
He is a unique and special individual, very informative and knows his stuff. I looked up to him a lot in the course and if you truly take a slight interest and participate he'll recognize that. He marks the group project hard but he's cool makes sarcastic and smart jokes. If you need help ASK HIM its worth it! You will walk awayhaving learned ALOT
Great prof. Learned a lot in this class and very useful information for the workplace. Has a very hands-on teamwork approach so best to attend class. All open-ended questions, no MC on the tests so important to know concepts covered in class well.
Horrible Prof! Basically told the whole class that we are never going to get a job because we suck at writing and that previous teachers have been boosting our confidence for no reason! Went for him to help and he basically kicked me out of his office very rude and disrespectful.
He has a very dry and sarcastic sense of humour. He can come off as rude and uncaring. His marking is weird. He was such an easy marker when i took 405 with him but i didn't do so well in 700. He tends to mark tests/midterms harder than assignments. He's not a terrible prof but he's not great either.
Not impressed. He has a serious attitude and is very condescending, if he asks you a question and you say the wrong answer he completely ignores and asks someone else without even explaining what he asked and why you are wrong. He needs to find a better outlet as some of us are excited to learn and then just end up hating the class.
Attending his class made be very nervous. The atmosphere in the class was usually very unstable. He always has sarcastic rude jokes. He marks the self-assessment very easy but the group project very hard.
Terrible terrible, terrible, terrible. and terrible. He is so bad. Avoid him if you can !!!! he is so useless !!! he insulted the class for being stupid!!!! it is his teaching style that is so badd!!!!! avoid!!! I got B in his class im very sad.
Definitely a picky marker. Marks REALLY hard on the group assignment... try getting another prof for this class.
Don't dare to take any course with him. he just ruined your CGPA.
Avoid!!! The course material did not seem too hard but he is soooo picky when marking. He is also very rude. He will straight out say your paper sucks!
Great professor if you are willing to participate and do the readings and assignments. very fair
Avoid this prof! He tells you that certain information will NOT be on the exam, but ends up putting it on. Difficult marker for the group assignment. Lectures are boring and repetitive, but must attend for participation. Good luck getting your GPA back up after taking this class.
really hard course, made it even harder than it already was
Just a terrific teacher. Manages to create great discussions and stay really open minded to comments even though an expert in the subject. Would love to take his classes again if I wasn't an exchange student going home.
- One of my favorite classes & profs. - Requires effort. This prof is not for people who can't put in the time to come to class, read, ask questions, contribute to group projects, etc. - A great communicator & gives great lectures - Has high standards - this impacts his grading - Will not accept excuses, do your work or provide a MD note.
Professor Pike is confusing when it comes to talking about given assignment and giving instructions. You may have to ask him 3, 4 times to get clarification on questions, but overall he's a great prof. Attendance is mandatory for class, especially training sessions, as it's worth 10% of your final grade. Overall, it's a fun and interactive class!
I enjoyed this class with Lou. He was very clear about which cultural dimensions we had to learn for exams and frequently referred to them. Exams are all short essay, applying concepts to real world cases and course readings. He does not permit electronic devices in class which was a pain as I usually type my notes.
If you like gambling, this is your professor. Some days he is the nicest, most understanding guy. Other days he wont answer back emails, miss ofice hours, and yell at students in class for being 5 minutes late. Would NOT take again... not worth the stress. Ok marker, but thats about it.
Pike is not too helpful, he means well but sometimes he comes off as arrogant and condescending. His lectures are occasionally helpful but he mostly summarizes the textbook. The midterm exam, given the material was tougher than it needed to be. There was no guidance on the group assignments other than a vague outline. Avoid Pike if you can.
he teaches leadership, but not a great leader himself?. he is rude, puts students down infront of the whole class.
f - Lou is a very great guy. u - Lou is very helpful in class. c - Concepts are taught in a very sarcastically matter. k - Makes content VERY interesting. REALLY interesting. H - always on time. I - crazy how he used to work at Glaxo. What an experience. M - yup. I would've passed the course if it wasn't for him.
I don't mind if this submission doesn't go through, but the perfect way to describe him is that he's a D I C K.
Louis is a great guy. He's funny and cares about his students and wants them to do well. That being said, he's a pretty tough marker and on the assignments he is very specific and you have to do them exactly as he wants them. Very nice prof though.
A great prof! Willing to help students and genuinely tries to make the course as interesting as possible. I would recommend taking him. Tests are fair.
bad prof
Sometimes he makes class interesting. Most of the time he teaches in a very sarcastic tone. Very condescending and is a very senile man. I would never recommend this prof to my worst enemies.
He is a New Yorker and comes off very rude and condescending. Takes no excuses and has a tendency to call you out and embarrasses you. His instructions are vague and confusing, you have to continue to check with him to make sure you're on the right track. The slides he posts online does not match what he presents. Avoid to save your gpa!
Louis Pike is a wasteman. In all seriousness though, he is a very condescending person. Make sure that you are 100% sure that your answer is correct before you even think to answer a question. If your answer doesn't satisfy him, he will berate you. Overall, not a very good prof for an already very dry course.
Great inspirational professor. Loves to facilitate class discussion but keeps it in check to make sure it doesn't get too off-topic. Illustrates limitations in all discussed theories through a global perspective more so than most other professors at Ryerson. Can be a little rash at times, don't try to irritate him! Overall great prof for this class
He may come off condescending to some, but I find he is a nice man. He's super helpful and understanding when you approach him. You have to work for your mark in his class, this also entails actually attending and participating in classroom discussions.
Does not make any sense 99% of the time. Wants you to participate, but when you do he just cuts you off. Teaches about training but has no idea how to train. I learnt nothing in his class.
Attended all of his classes and put a genuine effort in and yet did poorly. Tough marker, has some bias with students. Not really clear on his grading. Some lecturers are dry.
Not a good prof at all. Not friendly towards his students And demean students who needs help.
Really awful professor and an overall ham flower as a person. He comes to class and just makes up random stories the whole time and says he taught you the material.... I really question his credentials as they do not show at ALL in the classroom.
This terrible professor degrades the reputation of any school he's associated with. Ryerson, get it together and get rid of this terrible uneducated professor for the sake of all students, PLEASE! He's slowly ruining our school.
Amazing course- changed my life. I was never into political issues and such, but he really changed my perception on the world and how culture influences us a lot more then we realize. Really fun and engaging prof. He's there to help students. Really fair. Dont be late, be respectful, and attendance is mandatory if you wanna get an A.
Very very rude professor. His teaching style is ineffective, outdated and messy. Instructions are SO unclear. Unpleasant to be around and learn from. Best off avoiding at all costs.
This professor is extremely rude to many students and has a nasty attitude. Unpleasant to be around and is very ineffective at teaching. Did not learn a single thing from his class, marks very unfairly, very unclear with expectations. Avoid at all costs.
I thought this was an easy class despite the comments below. Lou basically tells you what's on the midterm/final before hand , so its really easy to do well. Assignments are pretty straight forward, just read the guidelines and you will be fine. The only downside is the group project, which is very tedious and time consuming.
picks on people to give answers & expects you to know the right answer. If you give the wrong answer he is rude and says "no, you should ...." Which doesn't allow students to feel confident or comfortable. His teaching style isn't that great & I often found myself relying on the textbook for clarification. Overall, I wouldn't recommened him.
I really don't understand where the scathing comments are coming from. His class was the easiest A I have ever taken. Lou is a very smart man, albeit a little old school, but he is lovely. You have to participate, so if you just want to show up and mess around on your computer, yeah he's not a prof for you. You can learn a lot from him
His tests are based on the textbook, you actually do not need to go to class every week and also he is not willing to help students sometimes. more important, do not be late, he will stare at you until you get a seat.
He is very boring and gives 3-4 breaks that's like 10-20 mins long. Going to class is a waste of time because his tests are based off testbanks. His teaching sucks and I wouldn't recommend taking any classes with him. What he says is very irrelevant to the the tests he makes. He also doesn't mark assignments properly.
Smart man, really knows his stuff, uses great examples to connect theories. Tests are based on what he says in class so take notes, and tests are based on lecture slides, maybe skim the textbook and take notes. No M/C I had a test with only 3 written questions. Participation is key, don't skip class or come late. Takes 3 breaks. Answers emails.
Very rude and not helpful in the least. His tests are extremely hard, and not at all on what has been taught in class - same with the final. His lectures are just going over slides very quickly, but he does not post the full slides online which makes it even more difficult to study. I would recommend taking this class with a different prof.
TERRIBLE prof! do yourself a favor and drop the course before its too late.
Louis is a good prof, and does a GREAT job explaining concepts. Sadly the material is sometimes dry the course itself is easy. Midterm and exam are very easy, but the group project requires a lot of planning. There is an attendance mark so you need to be there all the time. Overall it was an easy class, and he did a good job teaching.
honestly, I thought he was a really good prof. He is very direct which is probably which is probably why I guess some people are not a huge fan of him. but I thought he is a really good teacher. read the book and you will be fine.
Lou is a very knowledgeable man and his lectures are related to tested material. The test are based solely off the textbook so it's really your own decision if you want to go to class. The only thing that was graded very tough was the essay (which the TA marked). His tests and exams are really easy. You're guaranteed above a B+ if you put in effort
AW-FUL! doesn't help when you ask, speeds past slides, exams have nothing to do with his lectures. just read the book. I made the mistake of thinking his lectures were good and my grade is a result of it. THE WORST PROF I HAVE EVER HAD. Not reasonable at all. AVOID AT ALL COST.
Louis was an entertaining prof but could come off extremely rude/straight-forward to others as he has almost no filter to the things he says. He's really strict about students using technology in the beginning of the course but he becomes less strict over time. Confusing and unclear grading criteria. Must attend every class for participation marks
The course itself is not hard, but communication with Louis is. He doesn't properly answer questions and his grading scheme makes no sense. He is extremely rude-overall a bad role model for this course - he is an example of "what not to do". For the mid-term and final, focus on the slides and get a better understanding on main topics using th text
Louis Pike does not deserve to be a professor. He is cold, uncaring and not professional at all. Makes a lot of subtle, sexist comments and belittles those who ask questions or needs help. I would avoid at all costs. Better to take an online course or take it with another professor. Your best bet is to study the slides
Very boring monotone lectures. Lacks clarity. Major discrepancies in marking of exams. Likes to talk down to students. Professor refers to the "guys" in the class like he's on a football team. Lastly, professor likes to bring up feminist topics with females. I know the choices for Training an Development is not great. Does not deserve to be a prof
I got an A. He is a good prof, but I can understand the complaints from other students about him. He can come off as condescending, but you have to realize that he's a New Yorker. That's just their style. He taught the course well and it was an interesting class. He makes you really think about the content. He does ask feminist questions.
His grading criteria is vague and lacks clarity, often hard to know what he expects as his feedback is contradicting. Big component of your grade comes from the group project for the term so be sure to work towards your project and presentation throughout the semester. Midterm and Final are fair just focus on topics in lecture slides.
Professor Pike is a solid choice for MHR733. Study the slides and follow his clear guidelines, you will get an A. If you are aiming for an A+ be sure to know additional facts from textbook about the topics discussed in class. Tried to get extra 1% to finish with an A+ but he is not type to help students out in that way.733 was an enjoyable course
Doesnt do much in class except briefly go over notes and shows a few videos. cant do well without a textbook.
You will like his class as long as you pay attention. He will pick on you if your on your phone or talking to someone. Going to his class will be helpful cus it just makes more sense of what is going on and he gives really good examples too. Also, what you learn in class would be kinda helpful for your midterms.
He was alright and his lectures were pretty useless but is kinda funny at times. Only thing useful about his lectures was that he told us some of the topic omissions if there were any for that chapter. Course is somewhat easy as long as you read the textbook. His tests are basically all textbook and knowing the causes and effects.
I think that he is a great prof. he knows how to teach and keeps people engaged throughout the entire 3h lecture even though some topics may sound boring. you need to read the textbook for more detail for the tests otherwise you won't do well. make sure to take notes at all times, even when he's speaking or playing a video cause it'll be tested.
The fact that he's probably one of the better MHR405 profs is kinda sad. But aside from that he was okay. His tests and exams are straight from the textbook and it only covers topics that he discusses in class and on his slides. Most people found the class hard but it's really not if you're dedicated to reading the textbook thoroughly.
A good professor. His midterms and tests are based on a lot of lecture material, so make sure to attend. He will not post everything he covers online, and you must read the textbook in order to do well. He answers questions in class and uses real-world examples. The lectures itself are quite boring and he will generally require class participation.
Class not worth attending. Study the textbook. Midterms medians did not pass 70%. Final exam median was 75%. No bell curve given.
Our class averages for the 2 midterms were 57% and 62%, which is pretty bad. I went to every class, paid attention and took good notes, and memorized the notes entirely before each exam and still struggled on the tests. This class is WAY more difficult than it needs to be, I ended up with an A- after studying more than I ever had for an exam.
