I struggled with this prof. Uses NO pictures on lectures or tests. Even though he gives notes on BlackBoard, you still have to take ALOT of notes in class. Must really understand concepts to do well, can't just memorize notes. He is VERY nice though! Just very challenging.

He is a great teacher who truly loves his job. You can tell how amazed he is about everything dealing with science. You have to really study hard to do well but you will learn so much. He actually makes you learn about science not just memorize it.

This guy is REALLY hard. He's a great teacher though and loves what he teaches. If you want an A you have to work for it, but he gives you (very clearly) what it'll take to get the A. Practice tests, lots of notes, detailed lecture, etc.(he CAN get a little off track in lecture and drive you insane)

All these comments are true. He is great!! I wouldnt want to take any other teacher for science. You have to pay attention in lecture. Write down all the things he says. If he repeats it, highlight it. If you get confused, let him know and he will explain it a different way. TAKE HIM!!!

I would recomment Westmoreland for any Biology related course. The man is brilliant and very entusiastic with his teaching. Micro is a hard subject so of course you have to study but I learned more about Micro and anatomy from him than any other teacher. It is very possible to pass his class if you just attend lecture and pay attention.

Mr. Westmoreland is the best teacher i have ever had. i have learned more in his classes than i have ever learned. he is willing to go out of his way to help you if you need it. he makes his classes very interesting and has a story for everything. i would definitly recommend taking him if you have the chance.

OH MY GOD!!! This man is very knowledgable about this subject, and I enjoyed his lectures. If you study off of his lecture notes you'll do fine. He is a very sweet teacher. He tries to help as much as possible, if you participate. If you don't attend class then you won't do well in the class. He is not easy, but you will learn so much. He is very applicable to nursing students. I took Dr. Long and Mr. Westmoreland helped me catch up in every thing that I missed with that crappy teacher.

This is a great teacher! I took him in spring of '06, not by choice. My instructor was fired about half way throught the term. In my opinion he was the one that I should have signed up for in the begining.

I took Westmoreland for A&P I, II, & Micro. He was the reason I went to school everyday! If you don't understand something, he was always ready to help you. And by the way I loved his stories, that was what made his class so interesting!! But just like every class you take you have to be there and study to learn the material!! :) HE ROCKS!

This man is so funny because of his stories & the things that he does. He made the material pretty interesting. His tests are tough but he gives u practice tests to study and sometimes a good 30% of the exams come from those practice tests. He's also very helpful if u ask. Gives bonus on almost every test. Very easy to talk to.

Definitely difficult, but he is very helpful and very clear on everything. He uses examples that help students better understand what's going on in the class. He's very funny and very energetic. He keeps the class interesting. He even made the cat dissection fun! If you have to have anatomy, TAKE HIM!

A&P is a tough class no matter what professor you take, Westmoreland makes it fun if not easier. Study "Lecture Review tests" heavily and anything he says "bleed on this" about in lecture and you'll do well. If you ask he will give you the answers to the lecture review tests to check your answers with. Sign up early or you won't get a spot.

westmoreland is a great teacher. the material is difficult if you don't study. thankfully, westmoreland is a good teacher so you understand the material in class. you have to study outside of class!! i would definitely take him again. make sure you don't overload yourself with crazy amount of classes when taking micro!!!

Mr. Westmoreland is one of the best teachers I've had. He likes to go off on tangents sometimes but he gets to the point and he gives a pretty thorough review. I didn't use my book, everything you need is in his notes. Definitely reccomend him!

BEST PROFESSOR EVER! You have to sign up for his classes early or you'll get stuck in the 7:30am class. His classes fill up quickly for a reason. He give you JUST the info you need for tests.. this is especially helpful for lab tests. TAKE HIM!

I took him for anatomy 1 and 2.You have to register for his class the day it opens or you will not get in. If he knows you then he will pull some strings to get you in. I bought the book and didnt use it once. Very nice and willing to to help you make the grade you want but you have to put in the work. If he says bleed on it,it will be on the test

He's a great teacher. Very easy-going and informative. Notes are on BlackBoard--print them before class. Hint: "Bleed on this" WILL be on test. He doesn't mind questions or repeating himself. He's very accessible. Doesn't mind if you use Seeley-Stephens-Tate or other books. Try to buy your books online rather than at bookstore.

Awesome science teacher. He does tend to get side tracked with stories but they are always related to the materiel he is covering. Applying what you're learning to real life situations helps with the learning process. You HAVE to study but if you do it is not hard to come out with an A.

Dr. Westmoreland is one of the best professors that I have had. He has a lot of knowledge and is extremely helpful. If you attend class regularly and study the material on a regular basis, there is no reason that you can make less than an A++. I had other teachers and they do not know what they are doing. You will not regret taking him.

louis is a great guy he loves what he does which more than what i can say for a lot of teachers at sanjac. study the review sheets and dont miss lab and you can make an A easy. get a study group if you can it makes it so much easier. i took ap2 first with gilmore and i recommend him as well. louis really helps out on labs :)

An amazing professor!! He only gives you notes that you are going to need. He doesn't try to trick you! And when he says "Bleed on it" you better highlight that because it'll definitely be on the test! Got an A average and a 97 on his final! I definitely recommend him! You do have to study because obviously this class isn't that easy!

Tests come from notes he provides. Textbook is not necessarily required but it is helpful. He is funny and makes class interesting. I HIGHLY recommend Mr. Westmoreland...you won't regret taking his class

This professor explains the stuff to where you understand it and it does repeat some things but that is because it is important to know for the tests. I am glad he teaches all 3 BIOL, I need for Nursing School, because I am definitely taking him for all of them. As fast as his class opens for registration, it fills up quick!

Professor is awesome, enjoyed his classes thoroughly!! He is a awesome teacher, he is very helpful.He is willingly to help as long as you try. You don't need a book he has print outs, bk only for references. His reviews are pretty much the test, the wording on the test can be tricky.

Highly recommend! Obviously loves the subject and cares about students. Does a good job breaking down complex topics into major points, particularly the Kreb cycle and other metabolic processes. Not overly picky about unimportant details. Class is difficult because the subject is one you will have to put time into.

Our study group, studied ever other day and all of us (5) were compensated with getting an A.. He made the lab available for us all the time, he was available to answer all our questions.. Solid professor. Westmoreland has a genuine passion when it comes to micro. He made the class exciting & entertaining because he would get so into his lectures. He gives you all the notes you need. Mr.westmoreland is the best teacher their is. Micro is really hard but as long as you study his notes and BLEED ON IT!!!! You will pass. I recommend taking him I had him for Anp1&2 and passed with A so study a lot .

Mr Westmoreland is amazing! Seriously the best professor to take for A&P and Micro! He gives a test review RECORD IT bc every single review question is on the exam! I had over a 100 in the class. Record the lectures, record the reviews, make notecards for everything and study study study! There is absolutely no slacking in this class!

Funny professor, really connects with his students. Available from early hours in the morning to late afternoon to help you out, and always answers your questions. In plain words, HE IS AMAZING! Make sure to get a front seat and make plenty of flashcards and you will pass no problem :)

Some professors teach you a lot. Some professors help you be successful and make an A. Professor Westmoreland does both. While Anatomy and Physiology is a difficult subject that covers a ton of information, Prof. Westmoreland completely sets you up for success. I enjoyed his class and learned so much and am taking him for two classes next!

Professor Westmoreland is honestly a great professor. He knows what he is doing and has many stories that often relate to the subject and some that don't. Either way all of his stories were great. I had a great semester with him. Anatomy and Physiology is not a simple subject with so much to cover, but professor Westmoreland is the man for the job.

This class is the best A&P class SJC-Central . He fills up quick. It took 30 mins for his microbiology to fill up in early registration. He's quite popular for microbiology :) . I did not feel intimidated or severely pressured in class. It's challenging class, though. But he pretty much lays out the material you need to study. Can't wait for A&P 2!

I took his microbiology 5week summer class. There was alot of information to learn, but it was basic memorization. The review is the test so pay attention when he goes over it. His lectures were enjoyable, and he liked for us to ask questions. No group projects (: Answers emails quickly. Definitely recommend him!!!

Louis Westmoreland is an outstanding teacher. I have an AA degree from College of the Mainland & an AAS from San Jacinto College. Westmoreland's teaching style is unique. He's very thorough. Each topic comes alive & is exciting. Tests are not easy. You must attend lectures, labs, take notes & study. He's always available for a conference, just ask.

Sweet old man who has all of the information down to a T! He loves to teach and learn new things. He also attempts to get to know everyone individually. All of his tests are similiar to reviews. He wants everyone to do good, also keeps you entertained with his goofy personality! EASY A if you study :)

He is the most wonderful teacher there is. HE knows his stuff and really wants you to pass. I work full time and took this class and micro together and made an A in here and a B in Micro. If you are willing to put in the time and study, you will pass. All his test are just like what he talks about in lecture. No surprises.

Best Professor I know, he is very clear about what he expects from you. do the reviews study them and pay attention to what is telling you in class and lab. You will have to study for the lab but you will definitely get an easy A. You will definitely enjoy his class.

There aren't enough good things to say about professor Westmoreland. I have never met a more caring professor in my entire academic career. He makes anatomy and micro biology interesting and has a great way of simplifying the material he teaches. He does an amazing job at reviewing his students for tests and not taking him would be a huge mistake!

I wouldn't take his negative reviews seriously!! This guy is AMAZING... Try finding a professor who gives you detailed test reviews and his personal cell number to answer any questions you have! The people who don't pass his class should consider a different major (maybe ART), because he makes it as simplistic as possible! Cheers!

He's an amazing professor and knows what he's teaching. His reviews online are just definitions in excel so figure out the way you prefer to study if that doesn't work for you. I didn't pass at all due to my own laziness and personal problems but that was my own fault not his. If you take him DON'T SLACK because A&P is a lot of studying.
