Makes a boring class pretty interesting. Not a real approachable professor, but the class isn't that hard. Take it if you need an easy art class.
Most boring class I have taken thus far. Easy class but she makes it boring!!
She was pretty interesting... loves art. Will tell you stories until your ears fall off.
you'll either love her or hate her. she's blunt, but amusing and knows everything and anything about art. lots of material but it's all very interesting and her teaching style is real easy to follow.
Very awesome professor.
Great teacher, makes art history intersting. You have to go to class everyday though, because this is a note heavy class. Grade consists of 8 quizzes, no final, no papers. She drops your lowest quiz grade. She's pretty funny too!
Easiest class in the world. Grades are based on quizzes only, every couple Mondays-I showed up maybe 50% of the time and passed with a B. Study and learn your European artists and you got it. She dropped the lowest 2 quizzes. CAKE.
very bad teacher and not very nice. tests are done by memory. mean to people she doesn't like
very bad teacher and not very nice. tests are done by memory. mean to people she doesn't like
so boring. u have to go to class everyday because u have a quiz once a week on her notes. and make sure to memorize dates and artists and time periods and all that boring stuff.
Easiest class ever. Read the book and you'll pass every quiz. The only way to fail is if you never show up. Boring lectures, nice personality.
If you like history, you'll love her class. She teaches you a lot without making you work so hard you don't enjoy what you're learning. No exams- just a quiz every two weeks. Attend class, take good notes and you'll do great.
Very interesting. She gives alot of historical background for the art she discusses. She is funny and makes art interesting
Gave 1 quiz once a week based on her lecture/slide show. Knows a lot about art and its history. She also tries to make it relevant to modern times. Great teacher.
I took AH100 during the spring and completely enjoyed it! Ms. Ngote is very enthusiastic about the art discussed in class. There are weekly quizzes (no tests or final), which are easy to pass if you go to class every day.
She's as sweet as she grades.
my gosh, i try my hardest to work my hardest and stuff like that, but this lady puts me to sleep faster than anything on this earth, horrible classroom too, its like the sun in there and she jus keeps talking and talking and talking...i'm never arts again
Just listen in class and you'll be more than fine. She gives ten 25 multiple choice question quizes every monday. No annoying midterm. No difficult final exam.
Professor Ngote has a very organized teaching style. She makes it easy to learn a great deal of information. If you study your notes and read the reading assignments which are very reasonable, it is easy to do well on the weekly quizzes. Great professor.
Kinda crazy. Not willing to compromise. The class is easy but boring. Extra credit is offered and weekly quizzez.
Difficult to get an A unless you are perfect w/15 - 25 question quizes. No extra credit other than 1 or 2 pts from bonus questions on each quiz plus 10 pts for visiting a museum in Toledo or DIA. Will not compromise. No make-up tests even if you are hospitalized, as a woman in my class was.
She is a really great professor...learned alot but you do need to go to class to get notes but if you do the quizzes will be easy
Very easy A, take notes and do the quizes you will be fine. One quiz per week on about 3 days worth of material, just memorize the dates carefully. She gives extra credit for the sake of giving it, its not worth that much. She is quirky but bearable. Very easy gen ed.
Horrible teacher, but knows her stuff. However, cram your brain before each quiz and you never have to attend class. Uselss class.
She really knows the subject matter and teaches it with enthusiasm. I only took this because it was req'd but ending up loving it & wish I could take another of her classes! No papers! 20 quest. quiz weekly but it's easy to study 20 min. before class and still do well! Easiest class I ever took!
My favorite professor yet. She made class interesting and she knows her stuff. A quiz every week, but no finals or papers or anything. I really liked the structure and he attitude. i would take her again in a heart beat
Good teacher, and easy. For quizes she likes to put ask questions about things she only taked about once so pay attention to detail. Sort of boring but a VERY INTERESTING teacher.
The most self asorbed teacher loves to hear her own voice. She drones on on about not much of anything. Never offered break It was like going through a chinese water tourture. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!
Professor Ngote is a great teacher, with an incredible wealth of knowledge to share. The classes never felt long or drawn out - in fact she made it interesting. She went in depth and taught us a great deal. She is helpful if you need help, and always cheerful in class. This is a good class and she is a great Professor to take the class with.
She really knows her stuff. The class consisted of a 25 point quiz each week, no homework, no final. I studied for an hour before each quiz, got a 4.0, easy class. I recommend a laptop (if possible) because she gives a LOT of information, and doesn't slow down to allow you to catch up if you're writing.

This is a really easy class as long as you go to class and pay attention. You have to study a little but there are only weekly quizzes. There are no big in class exams. She's a hillarious woman that's willing to help you if you struggle.
This class is difficult. You have to be able to memorize facts about a picture and be able to recall timelines. Must attend all classes and memorize pictures with their facts.
Very slow and easy course.
If you need to take a class in Knowledge Exploration category, take Intro to Western Art 2 With Professor Ngote! You don't have to know anything about art to take the class. Very easy as long as you go to class and take the notes. No papers, the only grade you have is a weekly quiz which is 25 multiple choice questions, and she always gives EC
She presents the material with exciting stories... sometimes it can be a little dry. But overall, she wants you to suceed. Attend class, take notes, and you will do fine on the quizes. And she does drop one! (always extra credit)
She knows her stuff. I really liked this class. I don't like history stuff, but she really intrested me with all the stories. You don't really need to buy the book, just attend class and take really good notes and you'll do fine! NO final/midterm. Just a quiz every week. Doesn't take attendence, but you should really go to class, it helps.
Easy class. Basically memorizing pictures and what they are and from when, and then the occassionally history fact. When she talks about animals, she's always wrong and a few of her history "facts" have been incorrect, but it won't affect how you do in the class. She's just an idiot.
Easy class although it was hard to stay awake. One quiz every week usually with extra credit. NO FINAL! She drops your lowest quiz score, but doesn't take ANY excuses if you were to miss a quiz. Make notecards with pictures, and put the facts on the back -- it really helps.
Awesome professor, she knows her stuff and makes you want to know about it too. I never cared, but now I am thinking about taking more art classes. Just pay attention to what she shows you, write useful notes and you'll get a 4.0 or close.
She was a good prof. Her class was interesting up until the last few weeks. Overall good, but sometimes extremely boring lectures. I would say two interesting lectures to every one boring one. Test style is not demanding.
Super easy prof. Don't buy the book, it's a waste of your money. Just go to at least 2/3 of the class meetings and you should be fine.
Very Easy class. Go to class sessions and take notes. There aren't any tests, just weekly quizzes which are simple. I do however recommend buying the book. She gives extra credit too. Don't get on her bad side though, she'll hold it against you for the rest of the semester! Nice lady overall, really interesting.
Prof. Ngote is an awesome lady. She is helpful, fair & offers a ton of extra credit on each test. She lectured straight through for 2 hrs non-stop (she needs to offer a bathroom break) :) It was fun to take this with her because she is German & has a vast knowledge on a somewhat unknown subject. She gives a good lecture, highly recommend her.
I would definately recommend taking this class. If you are a History major and/or enjoy Egyptian, Greek, and Roman history, you are going to love this course. I thought her lectures were interesting and insightful. She is also a fair and friendly instructor. Take good notes and you really don't need to buy the book. All her quizzes are MC scantron.
Far more interesting topic than I thought it would be and I am glad I took the class. Professor was very good and as long as you take excellant notes in class you should be good. I recommend that you buy the book so you have pictures to look at to study for her quizzes. Her biggest pet peeve is hearing cell phones go off! Great class overall!
SWEET woman. No homework assignments, just once a week verbal tests which are easy to medium difficulty if you show up to class and read the book. Shes very nice, and very flexible. She offers at least three extra credit opportunities throughout the year.
She's kinda weird but still a really good professor. The class was really interesting. No exams, only weekly quizes that aren't cummulative. The class is really easy as long as you go because the notes are everything.
Perfect gen ed class! Easy and interesting. Take her for anything (just remember to turn you cell phone off- she hates them.) I never opened my book, only went to class two out of three days a week and ended up with a 3.8. Tons of extra credit opportunities- on the weekly tests and outside of class. Take good notes, you'll do great!
She is a great professor. Class is easy but your grade is based on weekly quizzes. She does offer extra credit and she gives you all you need to know in class.
take good notes! because the weekly quizzes, 25 q's, are completely based off those, you can't learn the stuff just by reading the chapter. there are extra credit opportunities and she drops the lowest quiz grade at the end. the class is basically just memorization, very easy! and turn off your cell phone! :)
Professor Ngote is sweet. She loves teaching, and she has a true passion for art history. All you have to do is come to class, take notes, look over the pictures, and have 1 25 question quiz once a week. I'd definitely recommend her, and this class. It's interesting, and not hard a tall.
She is etremely knowledegable and makes entry level AH classes, which can be extremely overwhemling because of the volume of material covered, understandable and still comprihensive. Make sure to take good notes they are more valuable than the book on tests. Know the details. For my money, she is a great teacher though; very enjoyable.
The book wasn't outstanding, but she is. I would definitely recommend her. Just 1 quiz a week makes the material not overwhelming, yet you can make up a few bad quizzes. DEFINITELY TURN YOUR PHONE OFF! And do go to class. You'll need to.
Has 1, non-cumulativel, 25-question mult. choice quiz a week. If you go to class they are easy and require very little studying. Taking good notes is a must.
She is a great teacher, i had her for AH 100. Very into art historyand her teaching style is easy. Doesnt count attendance but going to the lectures will benefit you, since she does not always go along with the book material. Only thing was annoying in class was every monday she would have 25 point quiz. Deff take this teacher!!
Easy class, straight forward quiz every week, non cumulative. Makes the material interesting. HOWEVER, she has some extremely annoying manerisms when she talks, and she talks the whole time. She isn't nice to people she doesn't like, so don't be someone she doesn't like!
She was a great teacher. I reccomend her for AH 101, as an easy gen. ed. You need to go to class every week because there is a quiz every week on the material covered. It is very easy and she always gives extra credit for the quizes. She is extreemly nice, and you can even sleep in class. I reccomend this teacher for sure!
This is the first online class she has taught. Totally internet, computer illiterate. She can't open attachments - so you have to copy and paste your assignments. Many assignments are mailed by regular mail. Quizzes aren't practical in internet form. God help you if your connection is slow. She gives 20 mins for 25 questions. Didn't give us a book.
Very friendly, sweet, approachable and willing to provide assistance when needed. Class consisted of one non-cumulative 25-question multiple choice exam per week, the lowest grade can be dropped. Lectures were fairly interesting. Make sure you take good notes, they help on the exams. Would take again.
Online class was a nightmare. Assignments were vague and comments on homework were nasty. No text, but online gallery riddled with spelling mistakes. Felt like I spent money to teach myself about art.
Professor Ngote's class is pretty easy. You can read the book if you miss a class, but it's important to try to make it. Gives you an updated syllabus each section, which is helpful. I don't enjoy her opinion giving as fact and her secular views she tries to pull off as common knowledge. This has turned me off from her class greatly.
ngote is not a bad teacher, but she is not nearly as easy as the reviews on this site make you think. not to mention that she comes to class stoned on the devils leture every day..
the class is definately one of the most boring lectures at OU. the tests arent that easy and she expects you to remember details and facts about previous chapters on every test. the reviews here are very misleading as well, she IS NOT an easy A! its also pretty obvious that she regularly smokes the ganj and comes to class a little elevated
Ok...this prof is so/so. I'd say its easy to get around a 3.0. But definitely not an 'easy A.' Her quizzes are tricky, so you must attempt to study for each one. A pretty nice lady, but overall, the class was not too impressive.
quiz every week on lecture. lot of questions about the least important stuff she bearly talks about. super boring. does give chance for 50pts extra credit. but still wouldnt reccomend
I had this class last summer, and it was the best class I've ever taken. Yes, quizes once a week, but no midterm or final (and in summer it was only 7 quizzes). Drops the lowest grade, let's you sleep in class, attendance is not necessary, and she offers extra credit! She's a very nice lady and she knows a ton on her subject. For sure, an easy A.
Folks report this teacher smokes pot, Couldnt be further from the truth, and she hates cell phones. Quizzes every week that are not directly from notes or book, she asks information awkwardly to see if you are paying attention. I barely tried and got a 2.0 You can easily get a 3.0 if you honestly put forth effort.
She's awesome! i would totally recommend her. She's really eccentric and makes the boring class more interesting than it is. It can get dry, but most of the time it isn't. There are quizzes every week, but super easy and there is extra credit. She's such a crazy teacher, but in a good way.
Awesome professor! Highly recommended! I took this class as an elective, but she actually was a lot of fun and made the topic interesting. In this class there are no tests, just quizzes once a week that are 25 question multiple choice (she eliminates your lowest quiz at the end of the semester). No homework otherwise and several EC opportunities!
Good prof. I honestly never opened the book, her lectures were enough for the quizzes and she made it interesting. She's crazy about people having cell phones in class. Weekly quizzes (25 ?s) super easy.
She's a pretty easy prof. Makes lectures interesting. Outlines are helpful when studying or if u miss something in class. Quiz every week, (25 questions) some extra credit. She dropped our lowest 2 quiz grades @ the end of the semester. Just go to class, pay attention, & take good notes and you'll be all set. no need to buy the book. hardly open it
This class isn't hard.. but only if you're a good student. There is a quiz every week. You don't need to buy the book. However, if you miss class or zone out or just dont write down EVERYTHING she says, you won't do great on the tests. Its only 25 questions so if you miss a few, you're screwed. Funny prof tho, you just HAVE to attend class.
She's really easy and drops the lowest quiz grade. I did my own calculation and I was suppose to get a 3.8 but she curved and I ended up with a 4.0. I just studied the hour before class and paid attention in class.
She goes through slides way too quickly sometimes. The timelines are useless. Study the main points. The years are irrelevant. If you miss class, then you won't do well on the exams. She never cancels class and there is always extra credit. She hates cell phones, laptops, and people speaking while she does.
easy class, just take notes, look at the pictures on google, many opportunities for extra credit, no hw, quiz every week so no big tests or final, she dropped 2 lowest quiz grades for us. easy overall, 3.9 in the class
Easy easy easy. Take her! Studied an hour before class for the weekly quizzes, and got a 3.8. Just attend class, pay attention, and study and you should be fine. There is alot of material, but throughout the semester you can pick out what info she'll but on the quizzes. Lots of extra credit too!
Easy. Don't buy the book, waste of money and you don't need it. Years ARE relevant, memorize 'em. One quiz a week that is 25 questions, no finals or tests. Tons of extra credit so if you screw up on a few quizzes you should be okay. Nice lady that hates technology. Her arm flab freaked me out.
SO EASY. Just be sure to come to class and take notes. She gives one quiz every week on the past 3 classes. Uses PowerPoints for lectures, she puts everything you need to know in them. She made the class kinda interesting too, I really liked her. Attendance is never taken, but you NEED to be there if you want to pass.
Easy A if you attend class, pay attention and take notes. NO FINAL, just quizzes. Many EC opportunities. The quizzes were every week, but was based off 2-3 pages of notes (including pictures). I did my studying a day before each quiz and got a 4.0 in the class. Plus, she's a lovely professor.
Easy class if you come to class and take notes. You have to come to class to do well in this class because it's totally lecture based. But the prof is very fair and kind. Take her if you need an Arts class.
Pros: She definitely knows what she teaches, and she has a passion for it. Your grade is based on weekly quizzes, no final or papers, and she drops the worst grade at the end of the semester. Cons: She does tend to ramble, and therefore the lectures did get a bit boring. This woman is a little weird at times, but I dealt with it just fine
16 quizzes, no finals or exams. class is all lecture and very boring. As long as you go to class and take decent notes, you'll do okay. don't buy the book, she doesn't want you to bring it to class and i never used it at all.
Pretty easy class. Just go to class and write down all the important dates and people. She rambles and class can get pretty boring. 14 quizzes and she drops lowest. I only needed to study about half hour before quiz. Lots of extra credit. She is a little odd but nice and passionate.
Great professor. You have a 20 question quiz once a week, extra credit on every quiz. if you go to class and take notes then the quizzes are super easy and you do NOT need the book. the quizzes are based off the lectures.
Such a lovely woman. Do NOT buy the book, she even tells you the first day of class that you don't need it. Do NOT take it in the morning, you will fall asleep. Take very good notes on dates, people, art and you will ace the class. Class grade is based solely on quizzes, which are based solely on the lectures. Don't miss a class.
The professor does not allow the use of laptops -__-. It would have been helpful because I would have been able to take better notes. No book required which is great!! Does not allow makeup quizzes under no circumstances. Quizzes are once a week and 20 questions long. Will tell you to get off your cell phone!
Take her!! Don't bother buying the book, the quizzes are all from the notes. No final either! She is really interesting and offers up to 50pts extra credit
Unbelievably knowledgeable on what she teaches. Strict, but for good reasons. Very easy to get an A in this class if you pay attention and come to class. She has a great sense of humor and will treat you fair if you don't act like a middle school kid crying for attention... wish she taught more classes! Great professor!

She has a great sense of humor and will treat you fair if you don't act like a middle school kid crying for attention..wish she taught more classes! Great professor!
my one problem with this professor is that she stated we did not need to purchase the book for her class however her powerpoint images are only from the book therefore it is a necessity due to the fact that she doesn't provide you with said power points.
She gives a quiz once a week with the date the class chooses on the first day. I think the class is really boring and she's hard to follow at times.
I got a 4.0 in the class, but I don't think it was as easy as the reviews on here made the class seem. You really have to pay attention...she doesn't provide notes, just power point outlines so everything she says, you have to write down. Not a class to daydream in! But I can definitely say that I learned A LOT!!! Seriously.
You really have to go to the lectures. No skipping! But as long as you show up and take a few notes, you are pretty much guaranteed to do well. The subject is kind of dry, but I think she relays it all very well. A good gen ed to take.
Slightly zealous for the arts. I am a science student so it never resonated with me, but if you're looking for a good and easy art teacher, she's a good match.
Class is not an easy A. Class has no structure. All you have to study is your notes. Have to memorize a lot of details about the pictures.
Very easy A. All you have to do is study notes a hour before each quiz.
Easy Class, but you have to take notes and pay attention. Got a 4.0 without buying the text book so save yourself $100
This class is not a easy class to take just for a gen ed requirement. I read the reviews on this site, thinking the class would be an easy A. However, it was not. You have to memorize many details about the painting and the quiz questions are very detailed.
She is one of the best Art History teachers there is. I recommend her, but also come to class having studied for the exams. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Start a study group and you will do fine. Great teacher.
Professor Ngote is the best teacher I have had so far. She is incredibly kind and helpful towards her student. She shows concern for her students when they are struggling . Her class is very easy. You just have to take notes (very important) and memorize the pictures and artists.I passed all her quizzes easily without needing to buy the textbook.
She is a wonderful professor! She explains things in a funny and sometimes sarcastic manner, making remembering some of the works a breeze! The class is very easy if you attend often. Instead of exams, she gives quizzes every week which is a lot less stressful than a full exam.
She's very witty and can be very funny and sarcastic making learning artists and their work a breeze! This class is super easy if you show up and take notes. Didn't use the book ever though. There are quizzes every week which is a lot less stressful than exams. She gives extra credit on every one too.
Don't buy the book because it's not in her lecture. The stuff from her lectures is what's on the exam. She hates cell phones and laptops. If you go to the DIA, then she will offer you extra credit.
Class is not easy. Be ready to put in alot of work for the weekly quizzes.
She was an easy enough professor. Study for each quiz the night before and you will be fine. Make sure you get the right edition of the book other wise the pictures you have will be different
first off don't buy the book. second this class was definitely not worth taking at all. there were quizzes every wednesday and it was zoo annoying and the material was boring. unless you want to struggle over a boring gen ed don't take it. the professor was totally crazy and useless
The teacher is very nice and very helpful. She's willing to stay after class everyday to answer your questions. At the end of each class there would be a long line of students with questions. She talks all period. Literally. Don't buy the book it's useless. Take notes and write everything she says. Quiz once a week day of your choice. STUDY
This class was super easy! Each week you have a quiz, and there is no midterm or final. You have to go to every class because she doesn't post the power points online but a 20-point scantron quiz (with extra credit) every week makes this class a super easy A!
Definitely not for everyone. I liked her because she was strict but a little too strict about cell phones. She gives a quiz every week, but there's no mid term or final which is soooooo nice. I made powerpoints for every quiz which is not for everyone but you definitely have to put in time to do well on the quizzes
Great teacher, great class. I had her for Western RenaissanceModern Art (AH 101). Just come to class and pay attention! She has a test every week but that's better than a cumulative final! I rented the book, but I would say I barely used it. You can look up everything online. She's very passionate which made class interesting.
her lectures have a lot of pictures about the events and they are pretty much will be on the quizzes so ATTENDANCE is mandatory; 12 quizzes and 1 final + extra credits; if you look up the pictures on google+ cut them out+ put the names in back study pass with an A :DDD
She is a hilarious person and actually makes art history interesting. All you have to do is come to class, take detailed notes, remember the paintings and google them later and you'll be good for the weekly quizzes. I typed up my notes afterwards and put the pictures in my notes and saved them to dropbox so I could quickly look over them before.
No tests, no homework, no midterm or exam, doesn't take attendance. However, you have to take a short quiz once a week going over what she taught within that week. Sometimes they can be hard, but if you take good notes it's not too bad. She REALLY doesn't like electronics & can come off as rude sometimes.
Expected this class to be much more difficult than it was. Easy way to fulfill an arts class requirement and the quizzes were not hard at all with studying. She can be a little patronizing at times!
NO CELL PHONES if you show up to class the weekly quiz is real easy.
Professor Ngote is awesome! No exams or homework, just weekly quizzes, which are easy if you just go to lecture and briefly look over your notes the night before. If you need to take an art gen Ed take her, it's easy and the material is interesting. Also you don't need the book, so don't waste your money on it!
Weekly quizzes were a lifesaver! They are easy if you go to class and take notes on the topics she specifically highlights in her power points. Her power points are mostly pictures so be prepared to take notes mostly off what she is saying. Defiantly don't buy the book its not used in class and she doesn't assign reading or homework
Ngote was a low-key cool professor. You have a quiz every week-its not bad at all. Just show up to class and take clear notes. I usually google the art pieces before a quiz to refresh my memory. She keeps everything interesting by showing pictures of herself at work! She's been to Egypt, Rome, Germany, etc. I would take another class with her.
Professor Ngote is a great professor. Don't get me wrong though it doesn't help that Art History is one of the most boring classes to take. However, she realizes this and really tries to spice up lectures with interesting dialogue and pictures that can get you more invested. And its clear how you will be graded with a quiz every week.
I loved having her as my professor! She made this class really interesting and she is passionate about the subject. She doesn't give out papers or a final exam. She gives out weekly 20 question quizzes but they are very easy if you pay attention and take notes of her lecture! I looked forward to class and highly recommend her!
Its hard not to fall asleep in her class, her tests have questions she never went over. The only good thing is theres no homework and it will be your least stressful class. To study make a document with an Artists and all of their paintings and go over them lots.
Take my advice and do not take this class in the summer..3 hours of this class is crazy. She's so sweet. The only thing I do not like is that she expects you to know the answer and will choose you if you have not talked. Make sure you write everything done for the quizzes. Overall, decent teacher.
I do not recommend this teacher, especially if you take this class during the summer. She gives 7-10 quizzes a week, an assignment, and a forum. She is pretty harsh on her comments to students. I think it is because she is so into art history.
She gives a weekly quiz, there is no midterm and the final was optional. Show up to class and take good notes and you will pass this class. The book should be optional but i found it helpful to look right at the paintings we were talking about! Interesting lady, really enjoyed her class!
course taken online. Good: knowledgeable instructor and you will learn some things. Bad: a lot of work a week however manageable, you better not have a tech issue I.E something doesnt attach because it will greatly affect your grade and theres no mercy and there is little to no communication from instructor which is needed for an online course.
Really good teacher, not a hard class there is NO homework and I didn't study for any exams/quizzes. As long as you show up take notes listen to lecture this should be an easy A
All you do in this class is lecture and take 14 quizzes total. you don't have any midterms nor a final. you have one quiz a week about what she has lectured the previous two classes before. super easy; just listen and you'll get an A. easy class to take for nursing students
The best class I've taken so far. I had her two days a week. She will lecture on a topic for two days, and then give a quick quiz. All you have to do is write notes in class and you will pass. Great Class for History Buffs. Looking forward to taking her in AH renaissance to modern. Only downside is art history is useless.
I took this class online, and Prof. Ngote just didn't quite understand how to work Moodle. Several quizzes involved questions/paintings that weren't shown/discussed in the PowerPoints we had to read; I had to email her more than any other professor to correct mistakes she made which in turn made it harder for me as well as the other students.
She is a great person, the other professors in the art department really respect her, and with good reason. Her lectures are very clear, make sure to take notes on what she says as well as her powerpoints. Weekly quizzes on material. Do not miss class- especially if you bombed more than one quiz. Not great with technology, be patient!
Very easy if you come to class and study. Gives a quiz every week and no final. Simple 4.0, would highly recommend for an art credit. One of my favorite professors.
i took this class online and 1300/2000 points are quizzes. Which would be fine, if the quizzes weren't timed. Its a 5 question quiz, with 5 possible answers, sometimes ranging with multiple sentences in length. And we have 3 minutes to complete each quiz. I read at college level, and even i had a problem with this 3 minute time frame.
Only took this class for about a week and dropped. She seems very sweet, but also not so understanding. Timed quizzes at 3 minutes is not long enough to read 5 questions w/ 5 possible answers. It's nice you have no midterm/final, but not worth it. Too much work per week for a gen ed. Was spending more time on this than microbiology and psych...
this professor doesn't know how to use moodle. Our class had to email her 5+ times throughout the semester about moodle problems. She was rude when answering questions, still made us go to campus to turn in classwork even though our class is online. Also, she requires weekly quizzes and only gives you 3 minutes to complete the test online.
I took this online thinking it would be an easy gen ed. I was wrong. Five to nine quizzes a week, each based off a 40 slide powerpoint and only given 3 minutes to finish a 5 question quiz. Made students physically bring art to her office on campus which defeated the whole purpose of an online class. Constantly forgot to post on Moodle and was rude.
Shes really passionate about the topic and gives great feeback for you to pass the quiz with a good grade. There is a quiz once a week, but no final. The quizzes are easy, as long as you go to class. Also, if you dont have the book theres nothing to worry about. She only gives quizzes on things she has talked about in class. No final or midterm.
This teacher was very unprofessional. For her quizlettes assignments she admitted to switching up the questions and refused to fix all of them, so the students took the fall. They also were very unclear on how things would be graded and did not align with what was written on Moodle. Beware of this teacher, she's no good.
Sounds like people struggle with her online class. In person, however, this class is an easy A. There is no final and your grade is made up of a short, easy quiz once a week. This class could get boring at times, but its important to show up because the material comes from her, not the book. There is also no final. I liked her as a person!
I have had her for two in-person classes and it was an easy A for both. There is no book required and there is no midterm/final. Each week there is a 20 question quiz and there is always ec questions. As long as you show up to the lectures & take decent notes, you will do fine. She is super sweet and cares a lot about the subject and her students.
You will take a quiz once a week, every week. That's the ONLY thing that goes into the grade book. She does offer one extra credit question for each quiz, but it's simply not enough if you fail just one quiz. She doesn't give any work to make up for it. Very boring class. Don't take it, and if you must, find a better teacher. Too many quizzes!
I took Western Art class online with her and when it came to communication she was completely unapproachable. I emailed back in forth several time to schedule a day to make up a quiz because my internet crashed and she barely remembered who I was when I showed up. With all do respect, an age limit should be applied when it comes to professors...
Great ART Gen Ed Prof. The course was easy to follow. Quizzes were based on the PowerPoint slides. PowerPoint slides were highly informative and insightful.
In this class you have a quiz every week about the art discussed. The quizzes are not hard if you come to class. This professor's lectures are not very engaging and she brings up politics every class, which is completely unrelated to art history.
It was an online class, but she delivered everything very smoothly. You have up to 5 powerpoints to review each week with a short quiz attached to the end of each one. She posts the material 1 week before the deadline, so you have full autonomy over when you complete your work. As long as you read/study the powerpoints you should get an A.
Take this class! Very easy, she posts 4-5 PowerPoints a week and then each PowerPoint has a 5 question quiz that you get 3 minutes to take. As long as you look through the PowerPoint beforehand it should be very easy!
Miss class good luck catching up. lectures are very detailed/interesting BUT doesn't post lectures on Moodle. She doesn't know how to use Moodle. Not good at responding back to emails, slow and doesn't answer the whole email. last class and last quiz are a week apart, last quiz happens the day final grades are due which isnt fair.
Not tech savvy. Doesn't post lectures, but provides outlines (which don't include the pictures. It's an art history class). You do NOT want to miss class, lecture notes are vital for weekly quizzes. I found just rereading my notes for the week before the quiz was enough studying, but YMMV. Very lenient with homework, if she even assigns it.
She was the kindest woman ever! I had her for an online class but every email she sent was full of care and always made us feel welcome to reach out to her. Her PowerPoints she gave with the quiz were so detailed and full of interest imagery. I did miss the homework quizzes multiple times and still passed the class.
You have to come to every class to hear the lecture as there is no way of getting it outside of class. There is absolutely no phones in class, and the only grades were quizzes and one assignment. If you show up to every class and takes notes this will be one of your easiest classes. She answers questions well and clarifies. There is no outside work
Took class online. PowerPoints were long and it was tough to remember everything for the quizzes. Quizzes were only grade.
Louisa is an insufferable professor; she makes me want to rip my eyeballs out of my head. Her lectures are a complete snoozefest and if you miss a class, you are 100% failing the quiz. Quizzes are every Wednesday and there are frequent binder checks (3-ring binder with 15-tab dividers) and she makes you print out a lot. No technology is allowed.
Only things graded for AH1001 is the quizzes each week, so you HAVE to attend the lectures even if attendance not mandatory. If you miss a lecture and dont know anyone else in the class, you will probably fail the quiz. Very oldschool, doesn't like phones. One time a bunch of people showed up late and she made them get up and apologize to the class
I'm going to keep it real. If u miss class you're not catching up. Quizzes only, questions are short but precise. pay close attention and write down everything she lectures you'll pass. someone said students were late and apologized to the class, i was one of those students. biggest help was drawing pictures with notes and I'd review before quiz.
no exaggeration this was the MOST boring class i have ever taken. the class revolved around her lecturing over powerpoints and ranting about things that are not connected to class if your on your phone she will go out of her way to embarrass you in class as well if you leave early or come to class late
One of the easiest classes I've ever taken. There are weekly quizzes which are easy as long as you pay attention and take notes. Always offers extra credit on the quizzes. The lectures might be boring, but she'll answer questions completely and there's only one homework assignment which was extremely easy.
By far worst professor I have ever had to experience in the years I have attended OU. She will stop the entire class and talk about how YOU are distracting everyone including her because you being on your phone. Don't leave class early because you're sick or it's time to go, because she will be extremely rude to you. Would not recommend her ever.
You NEED to have access to notes in order to pass. She doesn't really upload anything online, so it's vital you have a way to know what happened in class. She also doesn't allow for any devices. Otherwise, I enjoyed this class a lot. She gave a quiz every week which was the only thing graded practically. Also lots of easy extra credit.
