she is literally the best prof you could ever have! She goes above and beyond for her students, she is always there fore help, and will do anything for you. She goes through her lecture slides fast but puts them online so you can print off a unit at a time and follow along easily. If you get her, you are lucky. She made my first year awesome

Dr. Dawe is one of the best profs you'll ever have. I've never seen a 1st year professor who actually cared so much for her students. She's very fair with her exams, however the material is difficult so it is hard to get a good mark. Nonetheless, if you work hard you'll get the grade you need

Dr. Dawe was super nice and also really funny. She loves to joke around but she really knows and enjoys what she teaches. The classes aren't mandatory to attend because she posts her slides online but to really understand the content, attend class. She really does love her juice boxes though!

Even if it is not your major, it might as well be. This is a very difficult course. However, she does her best to help you out. Instead of Scantron, she uses if/at cards which allow for part marks on multiple choice and the midterms+homework are slightly less than the labs. Slides are a bit too fast but she is worth it.

Dr. Dawe is an incredible professor. She is extremely organized and professional, and really looks out for her students. She offers a lot of extra help outside class. Homework involves online questions every week which could take from 1-3h. I did not use the textbook much but it is a great resource when you fall behind in lecture.

At first I thought she was a little conceited but then realized she has the right to be cause shes the best prof at laurier. she genuinely wants her students to do well. if you do the practice problems over and over again that she does in class with you, midterms are easy. shes really fair!

Very difficult course to begin with but she provides a lot of resources because she wants her students to do well. Number 1 tip is just to stay on top of things because this course work is a lot and its very easy to get behind. Lectures are boring but sometimes she makes them a little bit more fun

Amazing prof!! However, the course is very very difficult. Expect most of your work to be from this course and your day to revolve around it too. The exams are much much harder than expected.

Chem is a pretty challenging course, but Dr Dawe's lectures were always amazing and she made it easy to follow along , with lots of in class problems, and as many recourses to succeed in this class as possible. Also a really nice person in general. Loved this class

I finished with a bad mark in the class, but it's aight, with my effort i put into the class was expecting it. dawe is a very genuine, nice and caring prof, excellent at explaining concepts, ask her questions and she is very nice about it, all you gotta do is pay attention in class, and do what she recommends you should get a better mark than me.

She's one of my absolute favourite professors! She really does care about her students, making sure to check in every once and a while to make sure everyone is doing well. Her course can be a little difficult but she is super helpful if you have any questions. And she replies super quickly to email. One of the best.

She is one of if not the fastest professors when it comes to responding to email, super caring and extensions do occur with this professor. I had her without midterms and finals, her assignments were pretty easy (just watch her lectures and use the textbook), homework and pre class quizzes also simple/free marks. Do the work and get rewarded.

Dr. Dawe made chem enjoyable. We had no exams but instead had weekly assignments. I found that these assignments were challenging and really made you use your brain BUT I learned so much more with this style instead of just cramming for a test. She holds tons of office hours and will always be helpful if you attend. Amazing prof!

dr. Dawe is the best professor I have ever had in uni. she is caring, understanding and always gives extensions, she does not take time to answer emails. she always makes sure that you understand she reexplains questions, to make sure you understand them.

She's a really great prof and offers extra help + in depth explanations. If you send her an email she is very prompt with responses. She genuinely wants to see students do well. CH110 was just a bit difficult given the transition from high school.

Dr Dawe is an incredible professor and person. It is clear that she cares deeply about students, both with their academics and anything else they may be struggling with. In regards to her teaching, she speaks at a great pace, she gives a lot of opportunities for review and practice before exams, and she gives bonus marks.

Dr. Dawe provides a lot of useful resources for her students and is always ready to help. Her exams are usually pretty fair (multiple choice question are usually a little annoying). I took both CH110 and Ch111 and i found that the way she structured the CH111 course was way better than Ch110. She's also really sweet and nice to talk to!

I LOVE HERRRR. She offers a lot of resources and help for midterms/finals. Her teaching is very clear, and she uploads the annotated slides after. She is very inspirational if you like chem, and offers insight into opportunities. Homework is easy to do good on, and reading questions are an easy boost too.

Both 110 and 111 take a lot of time and energy however dr dawe does very good at trying to make it easier on students. There are lots of extra credit opportunities such as SI and a poster assignment. If you don't utilize the help she gives then the class is very hard but if you make use of the opportunities then the class is easier

Dr. Dawe is great at teaching; she is clear with her words and is confident with the material. There are SI sessions to help boost your mark a bit too! However, a heads-up: when you go to her office hours for extra help/questions, she can be intimidating and may unintentionally insult your previous knowledge and your confidence levels.

Dr. Dawe was always willing and available to help with difficult topics. She was very succinct in all her lectures. The midterms and final were very fair in terms of difficulty and Dr. Dawe provided a massive amount of study and review material for each one. Negative reviews are clearly disgruntled (and lying) students who did poorly.

Dr. Dawe is a very punctual and reliable professor. Her tests are kinda difficult, but to be fair, this is chemistry. She doesn't do anything to “trick” her students, there are constant bonus mark opportunities, and she is a good lecturer. She does go a little fast, but if you pay attention you should be okay.

The best professor I have ever had. Gives very intuitive and clear explanations. Grading is very clear with mock exams being similar to the actual one. Clickers are a thing but she streams the lectures online on Zoom. Content itself can be hard so reading the textbook is helpful.

She recorded and live-streamed all of the lectures and provided annotated lecture notes, making it super easy to study. Furthermore, the final exam weight was adjusted based on your midterm mark, and she dropped the lowest 10% of our assignments. However, she teaches in a monotone voice, making it challenging to stay focused and alert.

Amazing prof, really cares about the sucess of her studennts. The lectures were pretty heavy I would say so try not skipping. The chapter homework and read ahead questions were easy marks. The final exam was easier than the midterms since there were no long answers. SI was a great way to get extra credit.

Prep for your labs in advance! Dawe talks a bit slow but going to her lectures and following along is actually key. Two midterms, first was a repeat of grade 11, second was a mix of grade 12 and some new. Use the mastering chem assignments as practice, they're also easy mark boosters (9%). SI sessions are helpful and the extra credit is worth it.
