i thought she was a pretty good teacher...lots of busy work but that is the case for every spanish class. She is very fair

Fajardo is a fantastic teacher; she cares about her students and really wants them to excel. She expects an effort from the class, but just show that your trying and she loves you. The class wasn't too difficult even though I'd never taken Spanish. Be prepared to study and pay attention. She offers tons of extra credit, so don't miss class!

Difficult class. Must work hard to get an A. She is very demanding and her tests are a little tricky. Lectures are comprehensible, but material could have been better organized. Difficult professor but you will learn your spanish.

Great teacher for spanish although you need to work a bit hard because it's a 5 unit course. Be on top of things, and know the grammer and vocab before you come to class to get all the extra credit. do well on all the assingments and you'll be fine...

I think that Professora Fajardo was really nice, her tests are moderate easy and over all i think the class was really fun ... everyone in class got to know eachother and we were like a big family ... One of my favorite classes at SCC!! :)

I have been taking spanish classes for the past 4 years and have gotten all A's, and now that i have taken fajardo's spanish class i did terrible. she makes it fun but she does not grade fair at all. On writing activities in class if you were to miss one you will get no points at all. so all the hard work does nothing.

Well, i love her class, the other student failed to mention that there have only been 3 ncr/cr activities worth 5 pts. and were open bk!!!! If it's that student's fifth yr. in Span. why is he/she still in 101?? Maybe this time s/he's actually being held accountable for learning. I am really learning Spanish and getting a good grade :)

had span 101 and now 102 with her and from my observations she will only stop listening to whiners and slackers who continously expect her to extend deadlines for them. I LOVE the she doesn't, because it would not be fair for the other students. Fair and AWESOME Prof. who goes beyond so the students can understand the language.

Profesora Fajardo is great!! This isn't HS anymore and I think some students have a hard time with that. Study, do the work, participate and you will not only get a good grade you will LEARN Espanol. ThE whole point of taking this class right????? Dont believe anything other than she is a GREAT teacher, sympathetic and extremely smart!!

had span101 before and would like to clarify, Profesora fajardo is an angel w/halo & wings compared to the other prof. I had before. She creates games, stories, step-by step handouts, study guides, etc. to help us learn. But as in any other class, we can only benefit if we come prepared to class. If you are a slacker don't take any lang. class

It was very important that you attend class or else you will become lost. Many worksheets that are only graded as credit/NO credit. Tests were medium to hard difficulty with paragraphs to write. Class activities were fun and helped us learn.

I thought Fajardo was really disorganized. She had a ton of wkshts for us to do but the structure of her class was just a mess and her grading isn't fair. She tends to rush through material regardless if we understood it or not. Essential to go to class to keep up with the material. I wouldn't recomend!

I have taken other languages before and Prof. fajardo is by far one of the best teachers I have had. She presented material in a variety of ways, what she called "contexts" to help us grasp the grammar and voc. She was not disorganized, on the contrary, and she kept us organized by giving pts. for keeping an organized binder

I commuted just to take span 101 with her because she was highly recommended, and now I am willing to commute again just to take span. 102 with her, this professor KNOWS how to TEACH!!!! The book is not that great, but she creates worksheets and activities to supplement it. STUDY, PARTICIPATE and DO your assignments and you WILL PASS!

EASY and FUN YET CHALLENGING! I did appreciate the worksheets/warm-ups and all the other supplemental material she took to class because, as someone already mentioned, the book is not that great.

Great Instructor, very supportive speaks Spanish in class which I believe is a must when helping us learn to communicate. Very organized, very approachable and understanding. Flexible and wants to see the student succeed immensely.Makes the class fun gives the students the tools they need to learn.

I loved this professor. She extremly helpful to her students and loves teaching Spanish. She is the best Spanish teacher in SCC. I would strongly recommend her.

Professora Fajardo is an excellent instructor. She gives very clear lectures and allows you to apply what you have learned with speaking activities. She also offers a generous amount of extra credit opportunities but expects her students work for their grades. Not an easy class but a beneficial one indeed!!

Fun class and very rewarding, we actually spoke spanish in group activities. Lab is required and homework pkts. for each unit. Lost of opportunities to get xcr. She does have an attendance, participation and cell phone policy, but so does every professor here.

i personally appreciated that she went beyond the call of duty creating stories, flashcards, wkshts. & games to make it easier for us to learn. without her activities we only had rules and lists from the book. As far as the previous comment, prof. was great perhaps that person needs to learn to be a student

Participation is a must, she loves it when you participate in class, she really helps you understand spanish.Lots of homework,exit interview as part of the final(it's where I realize how much i had learned) Overall great class, great prof. and great classmates.

Great class, I really learned alot. Fast paced, yes, and alot of busy work. I took this class in addition to an already full class load and that made it VERY challenging for me. I studied everyday before class bc there are quizzes= and alot to remember. She comes across stern but she really just wants you to work your tail off bc this class require

Great teacher. She really goes out of her way to help you. All of her in class activites are super helpful and she gives a lot of extra credit opprotunities. Take her class you'll learn alot!

This class is 2.5 hours long and she doesnt give a break. she lets you go 20 mins early. But if too many people get up and go to the bathroom, she makes the class stay the whole time with no break. Also, she tell you to put everything away when she is lecturing, and doesnt allow you to take notes during this time.

One of my most challenging classes but also my favorite. One Lab hour is required a week, homework packets every two weeks and small projects about once a month.

Yeah I agree with the last comment,if you are going to take Spanish, take it with her. My best friend took it with another professor and I always had to explain everything to her and give her copies of everything professor fajardo gave us.

It's a very difficult course but she really goes out of her way to make it easy and fun.

Very nice and knows her subject, but does not put up with any sh.... from any student, which I appreciated. Sticks to deadlines, tests include speaking, homwork packets every two weeks.

She is a sweet woman, & so beautiful! I enjoyed coming to her class because she made learning Spanish easy & fun. She gave us handouts to help us remember the past tenses for verbs - those handouts are life savers! You can ask her anything about the language & she will have an answer, & she likes telling funny stories. I definitely recommend her

Professor Fajardo is SO sweet and wants everyone in her class to succeed. There are a lot of extra credit opportunities that will really help your grade if you're borderline. Tests are not multiple choice except for the final, and you really do need to study and put in the effort if you want an A! Definitely recommend her!

Absolutely one of the best, I've taken other language classes but had not experienced a teaching approach like hers. If you just want to fulfill a requirement, i don't recommend this class. if you want to learn spanish definitely take her.

Absolutely first class instructor. You can feel that she wants to teach the language to her students. She is very helpful and creative in setting up fun drills in class. If you are serious about learning Spanish she is absolutely tops.

Im an advanced speaker but took class for units. She has a great teaching style for beginners. She expects you to be on top of your game & respectful to her & the class. Lots of homework, mostly online, along w required lab attendance. She'll love you if u don't interrupt & if u show interest & improvement. Probably best spanish teacher I've had.

Profesora expects students to come prepared and provides great little learning activities that help beginners learn the vocab. All the tests are representative of what she tells you is important. 1 hour of language lab is required per week, and if you skip more than 3 classes, she WILL drop you. Best language professor I have ever taken by far.

took her class at Chaffey College. She is sweet and sticks to her grading scale. She gives reviews and different ways to learn i.e. group work, games, etc. Homework online is a must but it isn't too difficult if you're listening to her lectures. She's interesting and approachable. Participate and she gives extra credit points.

She's always there to help you. She would spend a lot of her time helping me with my individual questions after class. I've never met another teacher that was willing to help me as much as she did. No one has ever taught me so much, with enthusiasm, in such a short period of time. I wish every teacher loved their job as much as she does.

She's a good teacher. HATES PHONES and expects you to work hard outside of class, will often go on rants about how she wants everyone to work because she works hard. TESTS are ALL WRITING. no multiple choice so study hard. She is kinda treats her students like high schoolers.

One of the best professors I've had in my whole college experience. She is extremely caring and understanding. Gives lots of chances for extra credit. Tests are mostly writing with a few speaking parts. If you don't study everyday, you won't pass. Has lots of fun activities to practice with other students during most of every class time.

She is the best if you are thinking about taking this class. Yes, a challenging class just like any science class with a lab. (I've had those) She gives many many opportunities to get points. I am what she calls a "true beginner" and i enjoyed it. It was actually a very fun class. Going on to 102 with her.

If you've never studied or spoken (fluently) Spanish before, this class may be a bit too fast pace, but it is doable with practice. However if you are fluent or advanced this class is an easy A. She's pretty funny and chill, however towards last 4 lectures, she started getting more serious and strict (understandably).

be aware that if you're taking this class, you HAVE to buy a new textbook! can't be used! you need a new textbook in order to do the homework and lab assignments for the class, so skip the hassle and buy a new book. otherwise she is a great professor and really cares for her students!

Love profesora! She genuinely cares about her class. As with any language class, it is hard but she really puts in an effort to make sure her students understand the material. The final is very hard. Make sure you don't procrastinate with your homework or binder and stay ahead on vocab. My grade went from an A to a B because I got lazy with these.

Hands down, best professor I've ever taken class with. She's innovative, hands on, caring, and really pushes her students to their full potential. Tough but fair grader, really gives everything you need for the tests in class. You just have to study hard and pay attention.

Had profesora last semester, this semester I have another professor because she is not teaching level 2. She is the best professor in that department, I am considering dropping my Spanish 2 and just wait until profesora teaches it! This professor expects all your time devoted to this class. States coming to class/lab and acing the tests are not enough to get you an A. Wants to see effort with hw, which is online and in the textbook. Gives pop quizzes when people don't have their hw. Although she does know the material well, it's a very stressful and time consuming class.

Excellent professor and very dedicated to her students, you WILL get an A if you come to class ready and you do the homework (homework is posted two weeks before due date). Tests were very easy and she also gave us many extra credit points that you can apply to tests or homework.

Profesor F. is one of the most compassionate, thoughtful and professional instructors at SCC. she teaches the language in a fun way with a lot of interaction activities, not just lecture. I believe that's what the previous person labeled as "high school". It is a five unit class, so there is a lot we do in class and online hmwk.

She was an amazing professor she cares about her students. Shes the best spanish professor here I wish she taught all of the classes but sadly theres only one of her. I still go by and talk to her. She encourages you to travel and will give you great advice. Her class isnt easy but its not hard just requires you to pay attention and participate

Shes honestly the best Spanish professor Ive had, maybe the best professor period. No one has shown as much individual care for all of her students like she does. Lectures are full of examples and are very interactive. Projects are not presented to the entire class but to each other. She appreciates it if you just try your best, thats all she asks

Prof. F. did have a system for presenting material and writing notes, when she first introduced new topics she wanted us to listen and see pictures with lots of examples, the second time she he actually gave us the outline for us to write notes as she presented and explained the topic again, which really helped. Great Prof. one of the best here!

An amazing and caring instructor. No pop quizzes, just practice and communication days, online homework, test every about every two weeks, if you study her notes, the tutorials and do the homework, you will be just fine. Some of my classmates were not ready to be treated like adults and acted like immature grade school students.

Do the work,study, practice and follow her study guides and it's an easy A. She is helpful, knows how to teach you the language, but she does not put up with slackers, which was great for us,the students that were there to learn. I'm bummed she is not teaching 102 next semester.

Okay, honestly this is how it was, we got the answer key to self-correct our homework, if you don't correct you only get half. Other assignments we got two tries. Homework was due Thurs/Sun, just like my other online classes. I am not a native speaker and I got an A. Everything you need to pass is in her videos, her handouts and modules.

Easy class, no surprises every week follows the same structure. Activities had several attempts. Gives feedback so you know what you are doing wrong. I took 3 online classes and she was by far the best in organizing and explaining. Free textbook too.

She made it easy for us to understand the book, she had flashcards for most of the chapters, her videos were interactive and gave points for watching them, homework had several attempts and module with just xcr activities . She is strict with due dates (10%) and if you don't correct hmwk from book with ans. key

Weekly modules, late penalty is minimal, I think 10% for day late, for my other class it was 50%, so Prof. Fajardo was not bad. I had problems with a few submissions on Canvas but she was very understanding and asked me to email hmwk instead of sending me to call tech support like others do. Was always happy to help me during her office hours

I enjoyed my time in her class immensely. She gave clear and easy-to-understand lectures for each module, as well as pages to do from the textbook to help you ace the quizzes. However, as most say on here, she is very strict with grading. So double-check your work before submitting/read all the info on the assignment module!

Professor provided an organized course with helpful interactive videos. I am usually easily distracted, but with the videos and activities provided I was able to stay engaged. Instead of just doing the same thing over and over again, there was lots of variety. She was always in a great mood in her online video lectures and it felt very welcoming.

She is truly a gem Her videos explain everything step by step and included a section for us to practice with her. It's clear she thinks about her students when she is planning her lectures. Replies to emails almost immediately and gets very happy when we meet with her during her office hours. Unlike the previous comment, she deserves a 10!!

Easy, easy class to pass, multiple tries on assignments, answers for handouts are in her videos, and we also got answer keys to correct work for full credit, but you have to actually correct the errors or she will not give you the points. I could not make it to her office hours so she always set up additional meeting times for me and others

Easy, easy, even for me, first time taking a language. Lots of variety, some assignments had multiple tries, some we got ans. key, some assignments were videos with embedded questions and others we had to record ourselves. I've taken many online classes, her course has been one of the most organized. Would take 102 with her if she taught it.

Great instructor! she has one of the most organized courses, but be aware if you take the 8 wk online course it will be very intensive. She does let students know in her introduction video that an 8 wk, 5 unit online language course will not be easy. She always replied to my emails within the hour and wrote feedback on most of my assignments.

If you are new to Spanish, I would recommend to take the full semester class, but if you have taken Spanish before, you should be okay taking the 8 week fast course.

Not easy but doable because you get everything you need from her recorded lectures and handouts. She replied to my emails within the hour and answered any question I had. She's a very cool and nice lady.

I was intimidated signing up for this 8 week class, best decision I've made. Her step-by-step approach was so efficient for me as an adult learning Spanish for the first time in such fast paced online environment. Above all she was so caring and patient.

I took her 12 week class in March, and she was very kind and was always energetic in her lectures. Her instructions are clear and she explains things very well. There was a bit more than average homework per week, but it also might depend on how long your class takes. I would take her again!
