OH MY GOD I cant believe a student of Professor Gil said she was tuff. I loved her so much I took two fo her classes. Most of her students are repeats. And the best part is I remember so much from the classes, to fail this class you must have not showed!

I have no idea how anyone can say she is tough. Very nice woman. Funny as well. No complaints. If all my teachers were this easy, i'd have a 4.0 GPA. She's a total sweety pie and pushover. I love her, she's wonderful.

She is adorable. Very easy, very nice. Always lets the class out early gives you work all the time but its not hard.. The readings she picks are very interesting.. 2 to 3 papers 2 pages each.. a couple of quizzes and a final but all are EASY.

Summer 04. She is one of the better professors at Baruch. She really knows her stuff. Very flexible. 2 papers, midterm, final and one announced quiz. Most of her students have taken her other courses, and her classes fill quickly. You will learn!

I got an A on a midterm paper..i definetely got a minimum B+ on the final but she gave me a B..She's funny, shes nice, she's easy, she cancels classes, but she screwed me on the grade..I would still take another of her classes

Anyone who doesn't get an A in her class is a moron. How could you do BAD on any exam...she will practically tell you the answers...Her class is pretty slow paced...you get to watch movies and talk about current events...its the closest thing to a high school class.

I took her class during the summer, she was really helpful and made the class interesting for us. It was summer so nobody wanted to be there, but at the end it was all worth while. Take her you won't regret it.

This Prof. is surely one of the best. I'm not hispanic, but came away learning so much. Her tests were tricky with a some dates we had to memorize. You have to read and study & you should be fine. I got a B-

I enjoyed her class a lot, I was late 10-15 min almost every week but she never said anything (I felt bad so I made sure I got there early) She's got this humor, easy to approach, considerate & easy going. Just read your material & participate!

She gives a review sheet for quizzes and lets you know exactly what to study. She has a good sense of hmor and can also take jokes. She's not picky on attendance and lateness. She's laid back. She was able to turn a schedule-filler class into something interesting. Take her if you want an easy-going, caring, and funny professor.

Great Professor, good GPA booster, great for free electives. It was an easy A. The class is interesting and the work is light. A couple quizes and a final paper. There is no pressure for keeping deadlines which makes the class very laid back. She really knows her stuff. Take her and see for yourself!

Great professor...I took 3 of her courses, one 4000 level...light work, she's very laid back, teaches well, light reading, exams are easy if you read. One short paper, deadlines are flexible. TAKE HER IF YOU CAN!!!

This is one of the best profs I've ever had. She cares for students and actually attempts establish a human connection. I'd like to see a math teacher do that. She's also a great friend and a fair grader.

Half of class is forgetting most of the material once semester is over (not her fault). Easy going, nice. Will reiterate if you need. HW every now and then. Tests/quizes are written (fill-in vocab, grammar, translate sentences, etc.) and verbal (try not to get nervous). Personally, the textbook could be better. Try to make some use of the lab.

I took her for SPA 1, 2, and HSP 3085. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this professor! I'm taking her next semester as well for 2 more classes. She is the most sweetest and understanding woman I've ever met. She treats her students with respect and is incredibly funny. I learned a lot in her classes and I think she's a very intelligent professor. A MUST take!

She was caring professor and very easy to speak with. I learned a lot about Latin America and the Caribbean through the readings and videos. 4 quizzes, a 3-4 page research paper, and attendance/participation. Plenty of opportunities for extra credit. I got an A-. Recommended if you want to balance your schedule when taking more demanding classes.

One of the best professors in Baruch. Attendence and participation is 30%, 4 quizzes 40% and a final paper 30%. The class was really easy. I got an A and I was taking 18 credits

Professor Gil is really sweet lady, very laid back. She knows that the work load can get difficult so she goes easy on the work. She will give you extra time for the work if you ask. a good class to take if you have a lot of hard classes in the semester. This will be the one that you can chill out in and not have to worry

Likeable lady, dreadful teacher! Disorganized and unfocused. Blatant cheating going on in the back rows and talking during exams. Not fair to people who study.

Gil is awesome!!! She doesn't stress you with things you don't need to know. She gave us an option between papers or tests. Is my second time taking her and I absolutely adore her. She def knows about her subjects. At first she might seem a little bored but then you'll notice how odd and funny she is. Her papers are easy & tests too. So take her!!!

I don't know why some students say she's easy. She just SEEMS easy, but she certainly is not. She's strict about reading assignments and participation or you lose points. Still, you learn a lot and enjoy the lectures. She has incredible knowledge about everything Latin American. You can ask her anything and she knows! I love this professor!

The class is easy and she's helpful. Have to pay attention to what she says because she changes the due dates. She starts talking about something, and ends up with something that has nothing to do with the topic. But it was an easy class, she helps her students, easy grader. 3 papers and two exams, one was a take home. easy A.

People who are complaining deserve a B because the syllabus CLEARLY states that participation is worth 20% of your final grade. Professor Gil is a very intelligent woman, and she expects you to come to class with questions. Obviously if people don't do the readings or don't have any interest, it will be difficult. She's clear about assignments.

LOVE THIS PROF! Lectures were very interesting and it was great that this Prof could use personal examples to further explain. Used lots of visuals which engaged class. 2 tests and 2 essays and optional-non-graded HW assignments that could be used during tests. DO NOT TALK WHILE SHE IS TALKING. great professor, I have taken her 3 times am the time of person who does not talk .. never missed her classes and got A in every assignment. and got A in all her classes. very easy prof .. Attendance not mandatory but helps your grade

If you need a 4000 level class this should be it. Do your work and will due great. We have about 10 short half page assignments in the beginning. 2 quizzes (with review). 1 midterm with review and 1 final (part home take and part in class). Your choice of a 5 page paper or a presentation (Topics provided and discussed) very interesting topic.

I have taken her in the summer LTS1003 and currently 1004 . we write papers after each reading assignment (a paragraph is sufficient) even though she is "easy" you still have to participate and show some level of interest. You will have a blast if: -Pay attention -Don't act as if she is obligated! -Be respectful! -participate

She's hilarious, beyond helpful, nice to students, and the class is an absolute breeze. Assignments and tests were incredibly fair and easy, no surprises. Participate in class and do your (incredibly, like literally doesn't take more than 5 mins to do level easy but due every class) homework, and you're guaranteed an A. Absolutely take her!

I have not participated at all and still received an A-. Do the readings and the assignments she gives you. A lot of readings but it helps for future assignments. She makes the class interesting and is a generous grader. Do take her.

Professor Gil is a great professor she teaches LTS 3012. This course is about Latinas in America!! Please note* Be professional, yes professional!! Don't sit on your phone while in class (she wont say anything to you but your grade will reflect it) She comes to class and once you've done the readings you will be good. She is the "bomb . com"

Prof. Gil is the best. Homework assignments and paper are easy and fair. Any questions regard to homework, she will answer. Just make sure to participate once or twice in class, even if you don't know the correct answer, just show that you care. The exam q's are similar to what she have on the test guide. BLS 3085 - The absolute best professor thus far! She is very intelligent and really cares about her students. I love her ! The course is straight to the point and shes so outgoing makes lectures interesting. You just have to do one paper , one midterm , participate if you can and a final . She very organized and is very understanding. I am going to be taking her again for the Fall that how much I enjoyed her class.

Be ready to learn on your own because she doesnt use PowerPoint. She teaches without notes and gets distracted. I got a D in midterm, I dont how she graded it all. I ended up with B+ as my final grade. She will constantly make you sacred of your grade, but you will definitely end up with good grade.

This professor is alegend. Actually ended up taking a LTS minor specifically because I enjoyed the first course (LTS 3007) so much that I really did want to take more courses with her. She made some of my least enjoyable days in Baruch, enjoyable. You can get a good grade by showing up but there is so much more to learn if you immerse yourself.
