Extra credit quizes can boost your grade by 10% Hardly any homework. Exams are tough. Interesting class, but not easy. Very helpful in and outside of class. Offers exam reviews. Doesn't take attendance.
Bonus quizes boosted my grade up a letter. Notes are provided online. Tests are a little difficult, study guides help out. Will have her again she is great!
This teacher was late to every class! She is the worst teacher I have ever taken! She is unclear. She will test on 5 to 6 chapters at a time. She is to busy with her baby and husband to be a good teacher.Everything is last minute.Do yourself a favor and save your money and GPA and pass this dud up!!!!!!
Dr. Norman is great teacher(and hot). Micro is a tough course, but her knowledge of the subject material coupled with her enthusiasm made this a very enjoyable course. Her tests are hard and cover a lot of material. Expect some out of school study time.
she has a bit of an attitude. if you don't have any other classes then take it but if you do don't expect to get an A
Knows her stuff. If you have a busy life don't take her. Requires tons of studying. Study guides help, but the tests are hard. If you apply yourself and take advantage of extra credit, u should have no prob getting an A. She can be a bit testy, but one on one is extremely helpful. Good teacher
She concentrated on physiology and little on anatomy. She gave study guides which were not very helpful for the tests because most of the multiple choice were not on the test. You need to take this class all by itself to at least pass.
Would not recoment this professor she was by far the worst I have had at FCCJ. Many people had a good laugh when I told them I was in her class. She has a good rating only because their is only seven of us. Just stay away from Dr. Norman she is young and out to prove a point.
If you don't do well in this class it's because you didn't do your part. If you are a serious student that values their education then you should have no problem.
Great Teacher! If you want to be taught by someone, take her. If you don't get an A in her class, it means you didn't do your part. Extremely enthusiastic and knows what's she talking about. Good girl
Thinks she is really great altough she isn't. She picked the wrong field. She is smart, but not a good teacher. She doesn't care about the student, she cares about herself and what other people think of her.
This is a very hard course, so be prepared to study. Dr. Norman knows her stuff. Tests are hard but with the extra bonus points you should do fine and making sure you give yourself alot of study time. The info covered is very interesting. Highly recommend her.
She got the knowledge!!She is a little demanding so if you don't like to study and apply yourself do not take her class. It is a challenging course and I learned a lot from her.Would not recommend her to just anyone unless you really care about your academics.
If you must take this course, take Dr. Norman. She is an AWESOME teacher. Her lectures are really helpful because she actually takes the time to teach you. It's a hard course, but if you come to class and complete study guides, you can make an A. Wish I could take more classes with her.
Great teacher. She expects her students to work, and some students don't like that (it sounds like some of the bad ratings here are from people who wanted an easy class, and got mad when they had to study). I studied and did well. If you want an easy class, this isn't it. If you aren't afraid to work, and want to learn, this class is for you.
Dr. Norman is a wonderful teacher. Anyone saying she is not, is just a lazy person. She is teaching what you need to know to go to the medical field, you dont want uninformed nurses do you? alot of work but well worth it. Very nice. Young which made her relate more.
Dr. Norman is nice and intelligent, but the class is hard. The study guides are enormous and don't necessarily help you on the exams.I did, however, get an A with a LOT of work.
best teacher I've ever had
she rocks...
Dr. Norman is a wonderful professor. She takes subjects that were almost incomprehensible to me before (e.g. glycolysis) and teaches them so that virtually anyone could understand them. She gives study guides that not only help with the exams, but also just help you make sure you understand the material.
Best class I've ever taken. Dr. Norman rocks the boat. She is smart and cool and the ways she teaches makes you very interested in the subject. I highly recommend her. I can't imagine a better teacher. :)
Dr. Norman is a wonderful teacher. Micro is very hard but she makes it very easy and interesting. Her exams are a little bit hard and put extra work to get good grade. She knows the subject very well. Study before every class and be prepare for the lab quizzes.
She's really hard, but she trys to explain every. I just didn't get. I studied like 30 hours a week and still got D's on the tests.
Not for lazy students. Difficult exams and many pop quizes. She might be softening up, the exams were getting easier at the end. I got an A but I have a photographic memory. Take her if you like a challenge and want to be fully exposed to the subject.
Dr. Norman explains everything very well. However, one cannot take this class lightly. I studied a lot and ended up with an A. The exams are unusually difficult. I learned a lot in this class and enjoyed it as well.
She is very clear on her lectures and uses helpful analogies to explain hard systems that the book doesn't explain well. Her labs are well explained and she grades fairly. However, studying is important to pass this class. If you don't study and come unprepared you WILL NOT pass the class.
let me just say that i am taking 4 classes with A's in 3 and a D in this class.does that say anything?she is young and it seems that her inteligence is getting to her head.she dsnt respect her students, makes u feel like u r stupid.in lab she smalltlks to some while others r trying to get help from her.she isnt professional.nds to act her title.
Love, love, LOVE Dr. Norman!! She is one of the best teachers I have ever had. Yes, you have to study! If you don't learn your stuff now, you will not do well in Nursing. (As many in her class are trying to get in...) She really knows her stuff and her enthusiasm and energy are contagious. Ther are no surprises, she lets you know upfront. Awesome!!
absolutley horrible shes very rude to her students and her test are very difficult and it seems like she picks favorites i wouldnt take her again if my life depended on it and its not just me no one liked her!!!ms webster gave us a cake for the day of finals and she didnt even let us have any!!!
man this lady has a huge complex about cheating and she is very difficult although some info is useful i wouldnt recommend taking her if you want a good grade for nursing school shes also late everday to class but if your late she pops an attitude
If you cannot pass this class please let me know where you are going to be working, if nursing is your future. I do not want you to be my nurse. If she were anymore clear, she would have to take the test for you. I will admit, she is tough, but what do you think the world is, it is not a marshmellow, it is a hard cold rock!!! Dela with it!!!
Dr. Norman is very organized, you always know what to expect when going to class, and provides great test reviews. Those of you that are slamming her-you probably don't belong in the RN program. If you've ever had Baker or other professors that are so scattered that you end up teaching yourself, then you should appreciate Dr. Norman.
UNREAL!!!!HORIBLE DO NOT TAKE HER SHES SOOO RUDE AND UNCLEAR ..POP QUIZES ALL THE TIME AND SHE GIVES QUIZES ON CHAPTERS AHEAD OF THE ONES THAT YOUR ON AND SHE HAS A HUGE COMPLEX ABOUT CHEATING I GUESS SHE HAD BEEN CHEATED
she seems very nice and easy moving at first then she becomes a nightmare shes very difficult as well as missleading when it comes to what info is on the test good luck if you take her
I got a lot out of Dr. N's class. I found her fair, organized, resonable in her expectations, and I had fun too. It's easy to find people that complain about a prof. and will go the extra mile to post a complaint. I took her for micro and anatomy;the complainers are unquestioningly out numbered by the happy students. Hands down great teacher.
Worst class ever1
Several profs teaching same subject matter are tough/great (FIND THEM!). She's just tough/poor: reviews copied verbatim fr/text (lazy, redundant), ATTITUDE, groupie favs (none As). Good luck prying her fr/chitchatting w/them during labs! Wish I'd waited for Davis. BTW, liking her ISN'T an RN prereq, despite the badmouth (misspelled) comments below.
Dr. Norman is a difficult teacher, but you will learn what you need to know and be prepared for the next level. She gives exactly what you need to know for her tests and if you study this not only will you do well but you just might learn something. Thank you Dr. Norman for preparing me for the nursing program!!!!
Dr. Norman was very kind to all the students and seemed to really want everyone to pass. She gave lots of second chances. It seemed like a lot of people in the class didnt bother studying for her tests and then blamed her when they got bad grades.
all I will say is just look at how many students register to take her im suprised she has enough for them to even let her teach the class.Shes the worst teacher i've had the whole time ive been at fccj
If you can't pass her Micro class, you will NEVER make it thru nursing school !
good professor good at explaining material and expects you to learn. test mostly mutiple guess and labs ar not that hard. great personality and very hot for a phd
Dr. norman is very fair if you show her that you are willing to try.
Professor Norman was great. Very helpful when you need her. Tests were tough but she gave many chances for extra credit and gave credit for attendence. I am not a science fan but I totally respect her passion for it.
Any biology class is going to be hard, but Dr. Norman made it fun. If you show up and study, you should be able to pass this class. Her exams are challenging, but she drops your lowest exam grade and gives points for attendance. I am rearranging my schedule so I cane take her for all my science classes!!!! If you can, you should def. take her!
good techer explains everthing all notes are on line but you need to study it is a hard course
hard subject to learn, but she is a great teacher!! you just have to study.
Awesome for the hybrid course. Toward the end (last 2 tests) she recorded her lectures and put them on blackboard. That was exetremely helpful, and she didn't have to do it. Very clear on what is expected of you, no tricks or suprises here. great teacher, I highly reccommend her!!
great teacher. read the chapters and do the chapter reviews (on your own) and you will do fine. she provides a review sheet as well. No papers just a group project.
professor norman is a great teacher. so smart, and helpful. didn't seem to favor any students over the other, im glad i had her for the hybrid course or i would have been completely lost.
OMG NIGHTMARE!!! shes one of the worst teachers ive had since ive been in school period!all she talks about is how she has a ph.d degree and she thinks EVERYONE cheats shes sooo hard too and rude!!
Dr. Norman was very willing to help you succeed. She tells you exactly what you need to know for the exams. I was so scared to take micro but I'm glad that she was my professor.
She was a very good teacher, she taught the material in a way that was easy to understand. Listening to lecures helps out with tests!
She can be rude. Her labs are very good, I learned alot. However I took her for hybrid. Her online exams are hard and you are on your own. She showed us how to google the answers. I pay too much for my education to rely on google especially after pay $$$ on expensive micro textbooks.
study guides full of info to look up most of it useless on the tests, Take home tests are impossible unless you know someone in med field.said not to go by $185.00textbook it's not always right but neither is internet.hybrid course is self teach. she's not a fair grader waste of money. made the class harder than it should be didn't learn very much.
Dr. Norman is a hard professor, but I learned a lot. She knows her stuff! If you read the chapters prior to class, take good notes, use the study guides, and do well on the unknown lab and case study, it is possible to get an A. She's not going to just hand it to you, you have to work for it. Interesting class!
horrible!!!!!!!!!! worst teacher i had so far her tests are impossible to pass. my class got in a group and we worked on all the online tests together the highest we got was a C and she brags way too much about her phd
Great teacher...wish she taught more classes. She has all her recorded lectures online. I recommend her.
The hybrid course is fast paced but completely do-able. Prof. Norman is really kind to her students and is helpful and knowledgeable. The labs are also pretty interesting.
LOVED HER! She was so organized that it was easy to follow what was going on. She explained things perfectly and had very good examples. She gave 5 test but only recorded the 4 highest. I got A's on my first 4 test. I still went to class after the first 4 chapters because she made learning so enjoyable.
Professor Norman was wonderful! the class was very organized, fast paced and the material was somewhat difficult. She was extremely helpful and gave you plenty of opportunities to increase your grade. the class was hybrid 4 exams (2 online and 2 in class) and you get one drop, homework online, and a few group assignments. would definitely recommend
She is a very nice person, but her tests are ridiculous. Her study guides are useless; I never used them. Only a 1/3 of the info is on the actual test. Your grade will be saved if you do all of your lab work assignments. I would suggest using the iP disc it will help you a lot.
hybrid course is face paced, definitely. you'll think it's difficult, but it really isn't. just read the book, do the study guides, and all of the other material posted online. masteringmicrobiology is the toughest part of the course. great professor, nice and really knows what she's talking about. take her!
She was nice to people she liked. I personally was not on the list I don't know why. She tells the class nobody asks for her help when I emailed her a couple of times but all she answered was to drop. She seems enthusiastic about teaching but her tests are ridiculously hard. If you want to learn AND get good grades I suggest you take another class.
Extremely knowledgeable and helpful (and cute). High expectations, though, so be prepared to study a LOT. MasteringMicrobiology helped a lot, too. Highly recommend her for Micro.
Just wrapped up Dr. Norman's class. She is my FAVORITE teacher EVER. Be ready to work really hard but learn tons. Super nice, super smart, (and I agree with others cute too).
This is a really interesting class. Dr. Norman really makes the hybrid format workable. It is lots of work though so don't think your in for an easy A. I feel this class helped get me ready for nursing school.
This was a great class. The labs are cool. Prof. Norman was awesome. I wish she taught more classes. would take her agian.
Dr. Norman's class was awesome. She tells you going in that this is a hard class, and if you aren't willing to put in the work, you won't do well. She's very helpful and really wants you to do well. I put in the work and got a good grade.
Dr Norman is an awesome instructor!! Helps if you are interested in the material, as I was. She is VERY clear with her expectations and as long as you follow them you will do fine!!! Loved her manner of teaching and would definetly take another from her if I would have needed it.
Dr. Norman was an amazing teacher. I loved her teaching style and general interest in her students doing well. She really wants you to learn the information. Study and learn the material and you'll pass. She gives you study guides that have all the exam questions and drops the lowest exam grade. If I needed micro, I'd have her as a professor again!
Dr. Norman is a great teacher. She is very helpful and provided many resources online and in class to succeed. Of course the class was hard because it is micro. I enjoyed taking her micro class and anatomy 2 class in the same semester.
Prof Norman by far is one of the BEST professors at FSCJ. Two online tests, Two in class test and one Lab test. All of the HW and Quizzes are online as well. Lets you look up answers for tests. She CARES for her students and she loves the subject. What else could you ask for in a Prof. Take her, you will not regret it.
Great class. Dr. Norman expects you to work hard, but she is real fair. Does NOT take late work. The tests are very hard, but you have all you need to prepare. The labs are awesome, I really liked the unknown lab. It made me think of my world a little different. Awesome teacher and a nice person, treats the class like adults that we are.
This was a easy course. You use Mastering for all homework, lab and quiz's. Everything open book. The Final Exam is at school, but the final questions come from the quiz's and practice final. I really enjoyed this course!
I took Dr. Norman hybrid for A&P II. She's fair. She knows what she's talking about. Did well in the course but you seriously have to do a lot of work and keep up, which you kind of have to expect for A&P. My only complaint is she takes foreeeeeeeeeever to grade anything outside of autogrades. I hate that. I wouldn't take her again because of that.
I took A&P II online as a 12 week class. It was fast paced, but if you keep up you should do well. She was really good about sending out updated grade sheets about every 3 weeks which helped keep me on target.
Dr Norman is brilliant. Homework is online. Must do work to pass. 4 tests total, 2 are online. Drops lowest test grade. If is very hard to fail if you do all the work. In class tests are hard. Online tests are not timed. I would def take her again. I made a B and did not study much.
I enjoyed my time with Dr. Norman. We did interesting things in class. If you had a question she would stop & explain. She also understood that students make mistakes. In-class exams were tough, but some are online. Do the mastering practice tests it helps. Be sure to attend class as she drop exam hints!! Dr. Norman is brilliant & I recommend her!
She is a terrible teacher. She expects so much, yet doesn't explain exactly what she wants. She makes her assignments like a guessing game so all you can do is hope you did it EXACTLY how she likes it. Do not take her.
The course is hard in general. She makes it even harder. She doesn't see the hard work a student puts in their to studying. She has study guides but they do not compare to the actual exams when you take them. For the lab exam she expected you to know every detail when she didn't give us a couple examples on how the lab exam is going to look like.
4 tests, 2 online and 2 in class. Read the book for in class tests and use quizlet for online test and homework. Case studies are hard-do them with classmates. She's fair but I found her very rude one on one and her lectures do nothing to prepare for the tests.
Do not take this professor unless you have forever to wait for your grades. You will learn from the labs but she takes FOREVER to grade stuff.
Online course is not hard if you keep up. She does read EVERYTHING you submit. Don't take the class if you are looking for an easy A, she makes you learn the stuff. Dr. Norman was really nice and helpful and prompt with email replies.
LOVED this class. Dr. Norman is great...no surprises because she sticks to the syllabus and uniformly applies her policies. You always know where you stand in class because after each unit she runs a grade progress report. She's a great teacher. I learned a TON.
She knows her stuff, but she doesn't like to help students. Lectures are long and none of the material is on the test. I recommend reading the entire textbook on your own to pass the exams with a decent grade.
I enjoyed this class! It was tough but made me step-up, which I admit is helping for Anat II. Study the book & do the practice quizzes! NOT an easy A but Microbiology isn't easy. I learned tons and it changed my perspective some. Also she seems intimidating but Dr. Norman is surprisingly normal...catch her after class an she will help you!
Took A&P II online this summer and it was great; the syllabus is really clear and you can work ahead if you want. As long as you can keep your calendar straight and plod along in the work you should do fine. Like any online class you have to keep up and be focused. I like online classes for the flexibility...I work and have 3 kids!
Do not take this class if you want an easy A, take it if you want to learn and be prepared for nursing school and have a teacher who actually pushes you to learn. I found her lectures easy to understand and she was really clear on expectations. Good teacher, will take for Micro.
Dr. Norman has a very clear syllabus. She sticks to deadlines , date, and the class schedule. She is a no nonsense teacher and the class is really Interesting. The class points come from a variety of assignments not just exams.
Professor Norman is great. She makes you work for your grade. You can tell she knows her stuff. She really wants the students to know and understand the information.
The class was a hybrid course during summer. There was quite a bit of reading, the in-class time was spent doing mostly labs and not much lecturing. If there were problems with the assignments I would ask her about them and quite often I was right and she would give the class credit for the error.
Definitely knows her material and is a cool professor but I took her for the hybrid course and she didn't teach one bit of material. The whole class was lab & then she would tell us exactly what was on the test but not teach us any of the material or tell us how in depth to study so it was very difficult.
If you enjoy a teacher who does not teach, relies on Mastering to do her work, and cannot even post grades, then she is the teacher for you. I have never dealt with a teacher as rude as her. Make sure to not say "like" when you are under stress and nervous because she will flat out interupt to scold you. Her work is very simple minded.
I took the hybrid class. In that time we mainly did lab. There is hardly any lecture, there just is not time in the hybrid course. if you want a lecture take a regular class. if you want the flexibility of an online class but still want teacher contact take the hybrid class. I liked Dr. Norman, I thought she was helpful, funny, and organized.
I LOVED this class! Dr. Norman makes you work, but I learned a ton and I feel ready for nursing school. She posts grades after every exam so you always know where you stand in the class. Don't take an online class if you want lectures!
This is an awesome teacher. She made tough concepts easy to understand. I was sad it was hybrid though because I really enjoyed lectures and would have liked more of them, but being able to have class once a week was good since i work. Check your college email or you'll miss important info!
This is one of the best teachers I have ever had. She sticks to her scheduel so you know what to expect. She has a great way of explaining things. I was scared at first but it was one of my favorite classes. I don't know what all the fuss was about, she gives you everything you need to succeed. I'll take her agin for anatomy.
I'm current taking the hybrid class with Dr. Norman and she is knowledgeable and amazing! I was very nervous to take this class, but she teaches you so much in just a short amount of time each time we meet in class. Because of her, I have more confidence in myself knowing I will do very well, pursuing the medical field. Thank you, Dr. Norman!! :)
Dr. Norman Lourdes is an Excellent Professor, I would take any class that she teaches. Study hard for exams, and pay attention to pass assignments very difficult but all are related to nursing. She is a very fair grader and is available to help you. She encourages you to do better.
Dr. Lourdes knows the material very well but is awful at teaching it. The only thing she really concentrates on are labs, and when she lectures she is basically talking to herself. I would not recommend this professor to anyone who actually wants to learn the material.
Dr Norman is a very intelligent professor that I am overall happy I took. The classes are more lab than lecture but when there is a lecture, its very interesting. If I studied more for the in class tests I would have gotten an A+. I was very worried about this class at first but Dr. Norman turned helped make this subject fun.
I want to be a nurse so I learned as much as I could in this class. Weekly quizzes and tests, read the chapter and do the homework & you'll do fine. 2 labs that were simple- dissect and document. I love anatomy & she helped with any questions that I had, taking online requires more effort/time but its not so bad. I still learned a lot w/o lectures.
First, let me start by saying I am a straight A student. Dr. Norman wrote her own book and expects you to read and understand all the chapters for the test. This was a hybrid class. We only did lab in person. Her pre and post lab quizzes were nothing liked she teaches because she does not teach. She does a lecture but it's of the bare minimum.
Poor teacher that teaches broadly and talks about wanting students to think critically yet gives the most basic lectures that at most lasts 30min. She free hands her lectures with no structure and seems to write down just what she remembers, leading to a general overview of the chapters. You will not know what to expect on her exams, reading is key
Great professor. I look forward to taking her for anatomy 2.
Dr. Norman wrote her own book and tests from it. The two online tests are the hardest tests ever. When a friend looked at them, he said these are MCAT questions. Also, she does not teach so be ready to read and understand everything on your own. When asking a question, she told a student what do you think I want. Yet, there was no rubric for it.
Labs are expensive even with financial aid. if you order them online they don't always come on time. She's strict about due dates and doesn't have any leniency. She doesn't give you exact information to study for the final which is worth a lot of points, just a practice exam but that's not all on the test.
Dr. Norman is a great professor! She really CARES about her students preparing us for nursing school. Her class was a challenge, but I learned A LOT. If you don't understand something, ask questions... she works to help you get it. I definitely recommend reading the textbook and the assignments WILL prepare you for the tests/quizzes.
She's very knowledgeable about micro and wants her students to succeed. The tests are difficult but the labs are fun. All assignments and 2/5 tests are online, with the exception of the unknown bacteria report. Her lectures are just brief summaries of what's in the textbook, so read the chapters and you will do well on the tests.
I liked that the online course had four deadlines (one per unit), that made it easier than keeping up with lots of deadlines. The professor was organized and was really good about replying to email fast.
She is a good teacher but her homework and tests are hard!
I LOVED her! She is a very nice and down to earth. Yes her tests are tough and the questions are harder, but they make you think and I learned more from it. I loved how she set up the syllabus you knew when everything was due, and there were no surprises on grading. Put in the effort and you will pass. Reading is a must, but I had fun in her class
Loved this class and teacher. The course is interesting and the labs are cool. We had online and in class exams, she drops your lowest exam. I would recommend her to a friend and will take her for Anatomy 2. Wish I had taken her for AP 1!
The online course was straight forward. She was well organized and answered my emails fast. The syllabus was real clear and I liked that we had 5 deadlines instead of tons fo deadlines. As a mom with two little kids that helped me keep on track but wasn't so confusing.
I took a hybrid summer course with Dr. McKay. She makes you work for your grade, but I really learned alot and I think it will help me when I start nursing school this fall. I wish I'd taken her for Anatomy! Microbiology is a tough class, but it was interesting and the labs are cool and fun.
The only thing she really concentrates on are labs, and when she lectures she is basically talking to herself. The exams are very hard. The course is hard in general. She makes it even harder. Do not take her.
Tests are nearly impossible, her homeworks are also hard and her lectures are pointless. I took a hybrid class which is definitly harder in general but she would do lab and then try to "lecture" but it didnt help at all. This is a class I had to teach myself and I finnished but still dont understand anything in micro.
Prof Norman was very clear on her expectations for assignments. The class itself was quite hard for being all online so I wish I took it in person. But other than that she gave good feedback on assignments and was very communicative about making sure we got things done on time and where our grades were at throughout the course!
I was terrified to take this class, but Dr. Norman-McKay made it interesting and even fun. I worked hard and learned a lot. She was always happy to answer my questions and she's super organized and replies to emails quickly. She was one fo the very best science professors I have ever had.
Loved this class. We had 5 exams. She drops the lowest exam. Gives homework, which helps your grade if you do it.
Dr. Norman pushes you to learn the material, which paid off for me when it came to preparing for my certification exam. I learned a lot.
Professor Norman-McKay wrote the textbook for the Microbiology course. She is very experienced and educated in her field. She is easily approachable if you have any questions, has a good sense of humor and is very encouraging and inspirational. If you take the hybrid course be prepared to read and take a lot of notes.
An amazing professor! The course itself isn't easy and it's important to read every part of every chapter but Dr Norman assists as much as she can. Amazing responses to questions, and is always willing to help you as long as you put in the work. She wrote the textbook, so she is extremely knowledgeable. She's also just very nice and understanding
Dr. Norman sole purpose is to prepare you for the medical field. If you miss a lab, it is difficult to catch up. Do not miss a class. She responds quickly. Do not be afraid to ask questions if you do not understand. Reading ahead goes a long way in this class. Make sure you understand chemistry. She will go out of her way to help you learn.
Great teacher! I would recommend taking her online course.
She's pretty intimidating to talk to and kinda makes you feel bad when you answer wrong. There are a lot of assignments and if you don't read every little thing, you're gonna fail the exams. The exams are timed and often the questions aren't even from the book. The case studies were the worst part.
Online class due to COVID. It was well organized. The final exam was proctored.
It was genuinely a great class. The class was online due to to covid so it was absolutely critical to read the book (that she's the author of). If you want to learn microbiology and be able to apply it in a healthcare field this class will be really important. Only 4 major deadlines. Take her.
I would not recommend taking this professor! You don't learn anything during her MANDATORY lectures that should cover 3 chapters but instead she will maybe cover half of one chapter. She gives study guides but the the test don't cover that information. Thank God this class was online because I couldn't imagine taking it face to face.
I would not recommend this professor personally. I didn't learn much during her lectures. Each lecture should've covered 3-4 chapters but you were lucky to learn half a chapter. She gives study guides but the test does not cover any of the information given. I could recite the study guide that was given and got a 46 on the test in return.
I have been an all A student until I ran into this teacher with the class, i understand it is a difficult course but she did not prepare us for tests at all, the study guides that were given had no information that was on the test. I struggled through this course tremendously. She does not care if you do well, I would not recommend.
very sassy and snappy. once asked her a question and gave me attitude. need to study and understand the material for the tests. occasionally does lectures and veers off to some irrelevant topic, not really aiding understanding. has small videos and animations and expects u to read her textbook. has 5 exams and one lab that u have to do by urself.
I am currently taking her online class. Yes, this class is difficult, but most people know that coming into an A&P class. her due dates are spread out and there are not many. There is only one test and that is the final exam. There are 3 quizzes per due date that are timed. If you take time to study and are disciplined you will be fine.
I am aware that any professor is not going to be easy, but this one was one of the hardest. Be ready to teach yourself and be prepared for questions that are not on the study guide for the final. I thought my second time taking this class would better but no. The amount of material you need to obtain is crazy.
This class was hard, but Shes making it hard to prepare you.
Professor Norman was probably one of the best professors I have had. Her lectures make so much sense and her book breaks down disease processes really well. The Class is tough but she is preparing you for your future classes.
I loved this class. I really enjoyed the lab sessions. There are a few online exams and a couple of exam in class. Dr. Norman gave interesting lectures and was helpful. I told my cousin to take this class.
Very smart but not good at teaching in my opinion. Some people found her inspirational but I found this class to be a waste of 3 hours. Not a lot of content reviewed and if you don't understand the textbook- you won't understand her teaching because she wrote the textbook. Will avoid classes with her in future.
You definitely need the book to understand what you're doing/learning since some of her lectures don't cover everything, and the lab book too but she's clear on what's required but get ready to study a lot
