i really liked her. she was a good teacher with a good sense of humor. we had awesome class discussions.she was cool but her quizzes stink. I really liked her class though.

can you say flash back to high school?? Mrs. thompson belongs in a high school classroom, not as a college professor... we are adults and she treats you like a kid.

This was a fasttrack class, Ms. Thompson gave us too much for 4 wks. She did make adjustments after she realized this. I thought she was a good teacher. She put the responsibility of learning back on the student. If you make an effort to ask specific questions, she will assist. I agree, her tests need work.

She is tough but a good teacher. You must do assignments and turn them in on time. If you had an easy comp 1 teacher don't take her cause she expects alot. Assignments towards the end seem a little crammed together, but she will help you and if you do your work its not too bad. She is a good teacher.

This has been one of my favorite teachers yet. Sure she was difficult but I would much rather be interesting in my class then fly by and learn nothing. I would recommend her to anyone.

She was a very good teacher I took her for a FastTrack and she was very helpful, but she does expect you to do the work. I would take her again.

Do you want to earn your grades? If so then take her class. This Class is not for slakers!! If you are in school to learn and have an interest in literature, Then this is the professor to take. Mrs. Thompson will influence all my writing throughout my college experience and will help me throughout my life. I have a new passion for literature!

Ms. Thompson is a great teacher. She expects you to act like an adult and take responsibility for your work. Don't act like a child and she will not treat you like one. Attendance is mandatory you cannot miss her class you will fail. SHOW UP, DO YOUR WORK and you will be fine.

i took mrs thompson for comp II. i never liked literature before this class but mrs thompson made it fun. i actually liked most of the essays. take this class if you want a good comp II teacher!

If you are not willing to show up for class, participate in class, and do the assignments, go back to grade school. This wonderful instructor is very professional and some people cannot handle this. So because they cannot handle this they think she is to blame. Not so. Be an adult, do your work, ask questions, and you will do fine. Yes to her.

I loved this professor. She was so helpful and made the course easier. I recommend her to all of my friends about to attend TCC. I really enjoyed her class. I took her over the summer and ended up on the honor roll. She is great!

Very good teacher, but a very hard class! If you are not super responsible, don't like to go to class, and hate hard work then just stop reading cause it is not for you!She locks the door right when class starts and you get a straight up 0 when you miss class but she's nice and you learn A LOT!

Read what she assings but read inbetween the lines. Make sure you remember the key parts. They will be on a quize. Over achieve on you essays. I thought i was doing good but she goes by the points earn really not the % so now im not happy.

Ms. Thompson was a wonderful teacher, Had her online and loved it. The required reading was a great choice. I hate reading, and I actually loved most of the stories out of the book. Quizzes are easy if you actually read the assignment and she grades fairly, the bad marks I got were because I was careless. She is AMAZING!!

Great Teacher!! Mrs. Thompson was extremely helpful and concise in her instruction.

Well organized, doesn't make you do nonsense work. Mainly everything you do is for a grade. She's not too tough or picky on writing. No overload on homework. Discussion boards here and there. 3 Essays and a power point. Has short story quizzes, you just have to pay attention when you read. Overall, shes helpful and great with email communication.

Attended both Ms. Thompson Comp I and Comp II courses. If you took her first course you knew what to expect from her the second go round. She followed the syllabus to a T and would answer questions courteously for those who couldn't read or chose not to read. She is strict about format but not so much with spelling. Great professor.

I took her online three week strategies class and had no problems with it. She replied to emails fairly quickly and always gave comments or explanations on graded papers. The class was kind of monotonous, but overall it wasn't too bad.

Unless you write really well take a different professor!!!

Very fair instructor. She is quite strict about following the rules of English writing, but this was a Comp2 class, not Comp1. I worked full time during both of the classes I had her for. She was very reasonable and worked with me to accommodate my scheduling issues.

Extremely friendly and helpful. Wonderful class discussions on reading material. Clear expectations. I love this class. (I am an English major)

Constant work, with regular due dates. Work isn't necessarily HARD, but will require dedication to get complete. Took this class online, which facilitated some of the teachings.

Was looking up comments on teachers for other classes I wanted 2 take and ended up looking up past teachers. I noticed a few bad comments on Ms. Thompson's online class. I know computers so the class was probably easier for me, and the counselors told me not to take any online if I didn't know computers. If u don't know computers, go to campus.

I finished Ms. Thompson's class this spring. Whenever I had questions, she usually emailed me within 1 or 2 hours. Most of her instructoins were very clear and she was very understanding of military students.

I learned a lot in this class!

One of the things I really liked about this class was that everything was clearly spelled out in the syllabus. You never had to wonder about the assignment or when it was due. This made it easier to plan around my schedule.

The Tech Writing class was practical, and the projects made sense. Didn't feel like she was just assigning busywork.

Literature was not my favorite subject, but I really liked the class discussions. Ms. thompson never put you down because of what you say. There is some reading, but not too much.

Mrs. Thompson is a great professor. She is very understanding and helpful. Essays are spread out and movies are incorporated. Good class encourages discussion.

Great Professor! It had been 17 years since I had taken comp I and I was nervous about the class. I made an A with minimal effort! It's not that she's an easy professor, she just made learning the material fun!

I have taken some classes at OSU Tulsa, and Ms. Thompson was much more approachable and understandable than the OSU teachers.

I have a very busy work schedule. What I like about Professor Thompson's classes is that the syllabus spelled out exactly what was needed and when it was due. You never had to guess about the work. Lots of professors seem to wing it and are constantly changing their minds on assignments.

I loved this class. Ms. Thompson was very responsive to emails, so this helped me keep up, since I have a busy work shedule.

A great professor but not for those who don't like working hard. She is happy to answer e-mails everyday and explain things. TCC definitely has easier professors, but by the time you leave Ms. Thompson's class, you will really know how to write an essay. You have to read the material and log into Blackboard daily though.

I was not really a big literature fan before I took this class, but Ms. Thompson made the class really interesting and fun. I learned a lot and have used it in other classes.

Professor Thompson is enthusiastic about her class! You can tell she really loves teaching. She is a stickler for proper grammar, she grades fairly, great feedback! She helped me take my writing to an entirely new level! However you do have to put in the effort to make a good grade in her class.

Take this class! Best class ever. Make sure you attend class and read your homework, though, cause she gives out quizzes and has discussions every class and if you miss them, you're out of luck. She's so sweet and gives clear instructions. She encourages thinking outside of the box, prepare to have some interesting discussions. Not for slackers.

Pros: very clear expectations -sometimes ad nauseam, answers emails clearly and quickly, specific grading scale Cons: TONS of elementary busy work! MyWritingLab (up to 8 unitsweek) reviews fit for a 3rd grader, micro-manages assignments, does not assign in advance so no chance to work ahead in your free time, assigns like it's your only class

I took her online 16 week Comp 1 course. She's super nice and helpful. She responds quickly. Her grading can be tough sometimes but if you follow her rules and outline, she's fair. Not a blow off class by far. I would definitely take again!

This class was an easy A for me, but I like things laid out ahead of time. If you want clear directions and an understanding teacher, take this class.

Professor Thompson did a great job in giving instructions. Also, she was quick to respond to e-mails. She's a great teacher, and I learned a lot. Just be ready to do a good deal of writing.

This was one of my better classes at TCC. She was especially respectful of Veterans. Would definitely take again.

One of the things I liked about Professor Thompson was that her syllabus laid out the class from start to finish and Blackboard was very well organized. I wish I could have taking her Tech Writing class online, but my schedule just did not work out.

You must be a really good writer, and very rarely gives A's on papers. Sends feedback and nice. Just remember tough grader!!!!

You will love this class. I am a health major, and the things we learned helped me in my nursing classes.

Had a great time in class, had not thought about English or literature as a major, but after taking this class, it is one of the areas I am thinking about.

I took her online comp 1 class. She is a very organized professor. Be prepared to read!! Her weekly quizzes will be over the reading material that is assigned to you. She gives you extra information on what she expects from you on your essays, so fully read the info she gives you and you should do fine. I always knew what was expected of me.

Professor Thompson was by far one of my favorite teachers. She is very thorough and explains everything well. She is very patient and understanding. Her papers are very, you choice as to what you want to write about. I highly recommend her!!

Professor Thompson gives really great feedback on papers. She let's you know what you need to improve on as well as what your doing a good job on. She is very thorough and tells you exactly what is expected in assignments and essays. She also posts grades on blackboard fairly quickly so you don't have to wait.

Prof. Thompson is a sweet instructor. She is very specific about formatting, but welcome to composition class! You will have to read. There are discussion boards, but it isn't hard. A few papers are assigned. They start small and get larger. Do the work, don't wait 'til the last minute, and you'll be fine!

Took the online 16 week course. Professor Thompson was fair with her expectations. I enjoyed the discussion board assignments and there are 3 essays and 1 final essay. She really spells out her expectations. Just follow exactly her recommendations on your essays, and you'll do fine. She gives a lot of examples and she even gives a template on MLA.

I liked the class because the syllabus outlined everything that was expected. Essay writing is a hard area, but Ms. Thompson offers one on one conferences, and if you follow her suggestions you will get good grades. She also understands problems of working students.

Took her online class last year, hoped she had another one but did not. Have a family and work full time, and I needed an online class. If you read all of her instructions, you almost don't have to really interact much if you don't want to. Some do, but I just needed to get the material and didn't have time for anything else.

Plenty of assignments but are not difficult, available outside of class. Has a tentative schedule. Points are easily attained.

Took comp 1 online for concurrent HS credit. Timed open-book quizzes, discussion boards, and four essays. Offers some feedback but isn't going to proofread your essays for you. Make sure you buy the right textbook (oops) but most reading materials are free online. Some opportunities for extra credit. Met her in person once, very nice lady.

I recently took Professor Thompson's online comp I class (8-weeks). Her instructions are very thorough, and she wants you to follow them as carefully as possible. Total of 3 formal essays, 1 self-reflection. Her class is easy to pass if you don't fall behind on work, get good grades on the discussions, and semi-good grades on the essays.

I took the summer course of English comp 1. Professor Thompson will keep you very busy with the coursework and some half week deadlines. As long as you apply yourself and do the work you can get through it just fine. Mrs. Thompson always replied to my questions quickly and was very friendly. Grading was fair , you just need to APPLY YOURSELF.

I love Professor Thompson as a teacher, she does a really good job is explaining the assignments and giving tons of examples for you to work off of. lots of discussion pots which are very helpful for essays. And her feedback really helps you improve throughout the course. I highly recommend her. She understands and gives you 2 late passes per sem.

Ms. Thompson provided great feedback and was always willing to help if I had a question. Her syllabus and Blackboard were great, you always knew what was due and when. I had lots of other classes where I had no clue what was expected of me and the teachers seemed to be just winging it and never responded to my emails. She was was quick to respond.

For me this class was easy to follow, and if you have questions she emails you back almost immediately. I normally don't like writing papers, but her way of teaching makes it easy, first class where I actually enjoyed writing a paper.

I just completed Professor Thompson's online Composition I 8 week summer class, and I honestly enjoyed it. The class includes 2 textbooks, but do not worry! The free pdfs of them are on LIB Genesis. You are given a decent amount of work but it is not that bad if u manage ur time. Follow instructions and rubrics and you should do well! 3 essays.

Professor Thompson has probably been one of my favorites so far! She was very clear in her instructions and was always willing to answer any questions. You could tell she really cared about every single one of her students!

The class was difficult because I hate writing. There was a 10+ page technical report you must write at the end of the course. There were assignments due each week. Her quizzes and final are hard. If you are a decent writer you can pass the course.
