This teacher is very tough on grading, but is consistant. She lets you know up front what she expects and never deviated!! Lectures are fast and cover large amounts of material. You can't miss any classes and do well with her.
i strongly recommend nobody takes this teachers course. i could rip her apart for hours but am going to leave it short. she is boring, treats you like your a little kid, and is horrible strict! if you enjoy life and want to be happy all day long DO NOT sign up for her!!!!!!!!!
I loved Chemistry, until I took her class. Basic Chemistry soon turned too complex for me. Labs are hard to get perfect scores on, and homwork is even harder.
this prof knows her stuff and communicates it well. she is a bit tough on the class the first half, but is easier the second half. attendance is mandatory and points are taken off for being late, so if you take this class seriously you will be fine, if not this class is not for you. the tests are tough, so study hard and you will do well.
i would have to say she is the worse teacher i have ever had!!! she gets mad if your a minute late. she starts the class even before the time that its supposed to start. she doesnt care about her students at all. she is a horrible human being and does not deserve a job as a teacher!!!!!
I just don't understand some of the negative comments.Guys u r in college now.Ofcourse they are no excuses. U sign up for the class. Nobody forced u to.I think she is a good teacher.Of course her exams r little hard but welcome to chemistry.Only one thing i don't like. she somtimes starts the class before the schedual time.
I really didn't enjoy this class, but I feel like it had more to do with the personality of the professor rather than the way she taught. She is just unpleasant in general to be around, and seems to look for reasons to take off points when it isn't really deserved. DO NOT BE LATE TO THIS CLASS.
She's a great teacher, but can be very anal about attendance. Labs were very interesting and fun to go to. Tests and homework were difficult as the class went on, it was impossible to catch up if anything was missed. I messed up on my final so it dropped my grade to a D.
She is really smart, but her personality lacks in substance. She doesn't take being corrected lightly and is highly strict in attendance. In labs, she does not let students help other students, even when she is busy. She makes me feel inferior and it makes me lose interest in her class. I suggest you DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!!!! You will regret it!!!!
I dont think shes bad at all. If you go to class and take the notes she gives...you'll be fine. She gives a quiz like every week based on the lesson but if you study a bit you'll be fine. She makes the test sound hard and theyre not really..you stress out for no reason.
All u gotta do is go 2 class and take notes and you'll be fine. The labs are so easy and as long as theyre done u get full points she doesnt even check them entirely. The quizzes are almost exactly what are on the notes. the 4page paper is not that bad to do and neither are the tests.she just makes them sound hard. I got a b+ w/not that much effort!
Shes not that bad, compared to my other professors I thought she was pretty good. Shes always available for help when u need it, she is a very fair grader &gives a lot of partial credit, & she is a very fair grader for labs. One thing I didn't like was that every chapter her lectures were slides filled with about 70 slides. That was so much slides.
shez a good teacher. no homework except weekly online quiz. if u just take notes in class thats enough 4 d quizes which are usually open book open notes. overall shez a nice teacher.
She's a great teacher. Explains material well, does a lot of problems in class and they usually show up on the exams. If you do your part, and study, you'll do great. Labs are easy, exams can be hard but if you go over notes and problems done in class no reason not to get at least B. She really cares about her students, always available to help.
Professor Haque cares that you understand the material. She looks to her students for input to help her be a better teacher. I had her for 1551/1552 and saw a huge progression in her teaching ability during that time. It matters to her how you do and that you understand the material. She makes herself available to help you. She is a great lady.
She is easy! I attented the class and just studied for 2-3 hours before the test, and i got a B in her class.
Dr. Haque is a very strict, demanding but fantastic teacher. She keeps everyone's attention, explains things well,& spells out exactly what she expects. She is very concerned, helpful and is available. If you work very hard and don't fall behind, you'll get an A or B. I wish I could have gotten her for 1552.
Love prof haque!!! i took her for 1551 and 1552. She is tough but if you do the work, you will be fine. Make sure you're there for the lectures. She comes off as intimidating but really is helpful and nice!!! I def recommend her!
She's nice and is always willing to help her students. She is very helpful and does a lot of example questions in class to help you be prepared for the tests, but she chooses the dumbest things to be picky over. Like she takes a point off for every minute you're late to lab. She has pop quizzes almost every class and makes you do online quizzes too
amazing teacher! she tells you exactly what she wants and expects out of the class. she explains things very well and her teaching style changes depending on the need of the class. if you pay attention in lecture and do the quizzes you'll get an A
she's the best teacher ever. very helpful wants her students to succeed in chem&future pop quizzes but open book¬es online quiz very easy alot of examples in class gives study guide everything on test she went over in class posts chapter slides easy grader im taking her for 1552 u have to take her she cares about your grade& available for help
if u want to be happy dont take her...she is the worst teacher i have ever seen. She doesnt care about her students at all....her first test is easy but her other tests are impossible dont take her..i hate chem now after taking her
Take her if you would like to succeed in chemistry 1551 & 1552. She understands students needs and lets you know exaclty what is expected.
She's the sweetest woman. I've heard she tends to be ****, but since I'm female that was never an issue. She's really helpful and really wants her students to succeed. Sometimes she's probably a little too easy because the exams sometimes come as a shock when you're used to easier problems.
She's confusing when she goes in circles during lecture. I was dependent on my textbook during the class in the fall. If your a border line grade she usually won't give it to you, many of my classmates agree.
Professor Haque is awesome! Her lectures are really well organized and clear, and she is more than willing to help anyone who is having trouble with the material. She even wrote a reference letter for me that helped get me into pharmacy school. This class is easy as long as you actually go to the lectures and do what you are supposed to.
I took Chemistry 1551 with Prof. Haque last fall and I got an A because she curved my grade. She curves your grade based on the attendance and your understanding of the materials. Prof. Haque is very helpful and care for her students! Take her if you want to learn Chem and she makes the class very interesting even though it "Chemistry".
wat can i say ..we all <3 her. my fav. teacher at COD but its def. not an easy class u have to do alot of studying ..online quiz weekly, pop quizzes , labs and exams but if u work hard u will be fine
She is, by far, the best professor I have ever had. She was always more than willing to help and answer any questions you had. Chemistry is a difficult subject but she made it all the more interesting and enjoyable.
she made the class so interesting and a great teacher... def recommend her!
Best Professor ever. She made chemistry very easy and explained everything so well. I wish there was more professors like her. Her exams are not that bad, she tells you what will be in the exam. Also, she gives open notes quizzes and online quizzes. Easy A!!!! TAKE HER!!!!
Awesome professor. Very clear during lecture. Looks intimidating but very helpful one on one. I went to her office a lot for help and she explained everything perfectly. Exams are easy and gives good amount of extra credit. funny and cool professor, would recommend.
Very great professor. I admit, that I didn't really put forth that much effort in her class, which I regret. But she made the class VERY easy. Very clear notes, which you can download online, and most quizzes are open note. She has great office hours and is very helpful. Definitely recommend. although I'm not a fan of Mastering Chemistry.
very good teacher. has a sense of humor but definitely gets to the point. highly suggested if you have to take chem. everyone in my class for 1551 signed up for her 1552 class right when it was possible.
Prof. Haque is probably one of the best teachers I have had at COD in my 1.5 semesters of attending. The class is a challenge but she is willing to help every step of the way and she cares so much about her students. Before her class I could care less about chemistry but now I love it. THANK YOU SO MUCH PROF. HAQUE!!!
She is an awesome teacher, and definitely one of the best. Don't get me wrong though...you really have to work your a$$ off since it's Chemistry, but she makes it enjoyable and a fun atmosphere for everyone! Her exams were brutal, but I'm not really a good test taker. She replaces your worst test grade with the final! A lot of extra credit too!
I would definitely recommend anyone who has to take 1551. Professor Haque is extremely helpful and she really cares about her students. Tests are not easy, but if you study real hard, you should be fine. Expect a quiz everyday(open notes/book) Labs are not too bad either. Class can get boring at times, but overall, a good class and a great teacher!
Prof. Haque is a bit quiz happy. Online quizzes after in class quizzes and then tests and a lab report all in 5 days! I feel like she tries to get people who dont study to study by giving quizzes everyday but in the end it kinda hurts those who try. At times she is kinda rude but I guess is an okay teacher not good with explaining concepts.
Mrs. Haque is a great teacher, she will give you quiz twice in two weeks and those problems actually appear on the exam. Math is a critical part of Chemistry, so better get your math skills intact. Take here you will learn introductory chemistry.
She acts as if she's so nice but when u go to talk to her personally, she'll act all weird. Tests are brutal, they'll kill you; she'll do easy problems with you in class and hard problems are on test. Labs are included in the test, and barely EC. Attendance is mandatory, and tough grader on labs. Quizzes are everyday, don't miss a lecture.
Good teacher, tough class. You really have to work hard in it. Quizzes pretty much every lecture day. Mastering Chemistry quizzes due every week. Really abides by her syllabus. Exams are fairly difficult, but the level of difficulty is no different from other chem profs. Actively uses BB by posting lecture slides and study guides early. Recommend.
She's a good teacher. Explains stuff to you. There's quizzes but u could use your notes on most of them. Showing up is good for you, because of extra credit & quizzes. She wants you to do well, puts up lecture slides + inclass problems on blackboard, and curves tests, sometimes she had us to problems in groups to change things around,
Okay, let me start off by saying that the other bad comments below are INVALID! Prof. Haque is a really good teacher. You just need to do the MasteringChemistry Quizes and show up. I hardly ever studied and I don't like Chemistry that much and I still managed to get a High B in her class. She is a very good teacher. If you do the work you'll be fine.
She was a total nightmare. Our entire class had to white knuckle their way through her teaching style. She gives you way too much information, overcomplicating the subject. When you talk to her in private, her attitude it: if you don't get it- that's your problem. I'm good student, not afraid to work hard. She still gives me nightmares.
Pro.Haque is awesome! Although I didn't get the A i wanted in class, she always has her door open for everyone. She also wrote a letter of recommendation for me that help me win a scholarshio that help to pay for 3 semesters at UIC. One thing is for sure... She knows her stuff, but you have to put in the effort to pass.
Great Prof! She loves her work and teaching. Avail during ofc hrs, provides lots of examples, posts notes on bb, exams are like her quizzes. We had a quiz every week. She gives pop & take home quizzes. A pleasure to learn from her.
its only been a week of class and i already regret taking this teacher. takes off points for coming late to class. very strict about labs and gives pop quzes like every class!!!
Excellent prof. She is all about being fair and open with the students. She gave us everything we needed to succeed in her class - it's a tough one because you need to do A LOT of work outside of class to retain the info you are learning. She is available and willing to answer any questions.
okay she has to be on here rating herself over complicates the subject gives pop quizes like every class and exams are like nothing like the study guides
Ok, so this class is no joke. You actually have to work hard to get a good grade.!Labs get easier, and if you dont study for the test's then you could fail. There is quizzes like every class period, but she lets you know ahead of time.
this class was fun! learned a lot, teacher is very helpful. LOTS of EXTRA CREDIT, never liked sciences but now LOVE CHEMISTRY!!!! Take her, she makes you work, but you get a good grade!!
very hard i failed her class and worked my but off! test are hard! doesn't cover any of it during lectures gives pop quizes like every class hard on grading labs1
Prof Haque was a great teacher! yes it seems like its going to be a HARD class, but if you work, show up, and practice the problems you will pass. She is always there for help. She offered to write me a letter of recommendation as well. I hated chem b4 this class and now i understand it so much better and trully b/c of Prof Haque.
Very difficult, also difficult to understand. She kicked some kid out of class for talking...forgot we were in high school. Dropped because she made basic chem so hard for a criminal justice major. Took it again in spring with J.Linardakis got an A
I seriously don't understand all of these negative ratings on her. I was dreading this class before taking it but she made it much easier. She was so nice and offered to help whenever possible! We always got out of lab early and though she would snap at people if they were being disruptive, what professor wouldn't?!
Not a bad teacher at all. She works hard for you, and she expects you to do the same for her. If you go in, and work hard you will be just fine. I havent done chemistry since 2006, and could barely tell you what a proton was. I got a B. If you fail her class it is because you didnt try. Awesome chem teacher, and cant say enough good things.
Excllent!!! Very helpful, does everything for student to succeed. Nice person and very funny at times too. YOU MUST TAKE HER! Excellent!!!
She definitely knows her stuff! She mostly does practice problem out of the book as examples in class, but if you really don't understand, she is always willing to help you during her office hours. Labs are pretty easy and she mostly gives full points as long as the calculations are done correctly. The most challenging thing is she is very mathematically-minded, and if you aren't, she can be a little hard to follow. A huge stickler to the departmental rules, too. But she is very nice and smart.
Awesome teacher! She's a chemical engineer, so she definitely knows what she's talking about! It's a very difficult subject, but she is definitely willing to help out and always makes herself available during her office hours. She's also generous with partial credit in calculations in exams. I once put down the wrong equation (and didn't even get it right) and she still gave me two points.
Mrs.Haque is awesome! I went into this class fearing the worst! But it turned out to be the complete opposite! She's very helpful, gives extra credit, quizzes are sometimes open notes, doesnt test u or quiz on something she didnt teach, I promise you! She wants you to succeed and she will do it, but she needs the student to put effort as well!
Great teacher, cares about her students. You have to do the work and come to class but he is always pleased to answer any questions. Cant imagine having any other professor for this course.
Excellent instructor, passionate about her work and a little over protective of the students, but hey that's better for them. Provides all she can for the students and is very attentive to each student.
I hated chemistry, but had to take it as a prereq. She is extremely helpful, study guides/pop quizzes give insight to what's on the exam. Pay attention, and print her notes from blackboard that she posts after class. Super nice, professional lady. My favorite professor at CoD so far. Learned a lot in this class, even though it's pretty hard.
Professor Haque goes above and beyond for the students. I took the hybrid class and it turned out to be so much easier than I had anticipated...really glad I took her because she wants you to do well and actually cares! I also appreciate how clear the class is set up because it makes my life and the class so much easier. Can't go wrong with her!!!
She made basic chemistry way to complicated. Her daily quizzes have nothing to do with the material taught and the tests are the same she makes them a lot harder than anything she has taught in class. I missed class because of a family illness but was told if I was not sick its not an excuse
A very informative and helpful professor. Definitely goes above and beyond for her students - don't be afraid to ask for help. Gives almost too much information sometimes but it is helpful in the long run. Take her if you like chem or even if you dont. You will get a great foundation and have no reason to not get a good grade
Okay don't be fooled by the high rating. This professor isn't EASY. You need to have a high attention span for this. She can lecture for TWO hours without stopping I had a really hard time trying to pay attention after the 1st half hour. Shes really strict and doesn't cut you any slack. Don't fool around in this class, you'll regret it.
I took this class as a hybrid course. First, professor Hague is very procedural. Follow her procedures and you will do fine. Also, pay attention to her PowerPoint slides and homework examples. There is a quiz every class, but they aren't bad. Labs are fun ad well. Good teacher! I would recommend her for adult learners!!!!
I love Professor Haque! She's one of the best professors I've ever met in COD and I was kinda disappointed when she said she's not teaching 1552 but I would take her class all over again! Although her lectures are long, it's pretty doable cos she's not strict at all.
Lectures are long with no break. There is a quiz every week. Tests are kind of hard but you will know your material. She spells it out to the class like you are five years old(which helped me a lot!).
Questions in class where met with a roll of her eyes & say we covered it last week & mocks student. Class is structured very well, but makes it way more difficult then it needs to be. The final (ACS) exam has an average class score of about 50% & will lie about a curve. If you want to work hard, go to class, & learn, find another professor.
Worst Chemistry teacher I could ever imagine. She is helpful in the sense that she is available to email if you have questions but she makes the material very difficult. The online homework is excessive and does nothing to prepare for the quizzes every class. The labs are less involved than high school labs. Take this class at your own risk.
I would not take this teacher. Her accent makes her hard to understand. I had my childhood friend who I did everything with kill himself during right before a lab and i explained my situation to her and she still gave me a zero on the lab and a late on the lab that was due. She is snippy to students and does not understand when students are lost.
Makes an easy subject seem really confusing and complex. She looks down on students that don't understand things and does not like questions. She will only help you if it somehow makes her look good. I would not take this teacher.
Chemistry is not an easy class and taking it as a hybrid makes it more challenging. Do not take this class lightly but also don't be afraid. Do the work, come to class, and ask questions when you have them. She WILL respond to your emails and answer all your questions. Respect her and take the class seriously. Your grade reflects your effort.
Chem is by far the hardest class I've taken, done with all other preq, but Prof. Haque made it easy. Clear cut on what to expect no surprises. Final is hard standardised for all Chem classes, but it's curved which will save most of you! I would recommend her regular class if you need detailed lectures, her study guides help. Take her!
She is a good teacher but sometimes she gets mad for no reason. She kicked a kid out of a lecture because he was walking. Seriously?! Also, her lectures are very long and boring and she doesn't give breaks btwn lectures.
She is a good teacher but her teaching strategy doesn't fit me. Her powerpoint is a lot of things and sometimes things don't need to be there. Sometimes i don't know what is the purpose of learning the new thing in her class. A lot of homework outside of class: online, lab, book exercises, ... Best advise do not take her unless you have no choice.
Personally, I was disappointed with this professor. She has a good heart and means well. Chemistry can be a fascinating subject if taught correctly, and she took a very 'to the books' approach to teaching. Her grading is very straightforward and gives lots of resources to help you succeed, which I appreciated. Though don't expect much beyond that.
Overall Professor Haque was a really nice and easy going professor. She gives a lot of extra credit and her exams are fair. The lectures may be a bit too long but she tries to make it fun. Not a lot of online hw but quizzes everyday which are easy if you pay attention in class. I would definately take class with her again. Got candy too on last day
This course was different in that it was a hybrid course. There was a lot of online work, but if you read the chapters required in the textbook, and you'll be fine. the labs are very interesting and can either be quick or long. the paper, you choose the subject. She gives good feedback on assignments and answers questions you may have.
Overall I thought she did a great job. CHEMI 1551 is not an inherently easy class, but she makes it very clear on how you can get an A if you're willing to work hard enough.
HARD. Long lectures, no breaks, quizzes basically every day. Very strict. Makes class harder than it probably needs to be. Very very strict.
Only good professor i have had this semester, solid lectures and available outside of class. Wants you to succeed.
Good teacher. Cares about students. Uses lecture time to go over power point and do some in class work. Lecture can be really hard to focus. Tests are not that hard if you go over notes and labs. Make sure to look at study guides to know what to study.
Professor Haque is a great teacher. Yes her lectures are long, but she has all her Powerpoints on Blackboard in addition to all problems done in class. If you have trouble in her class she has office hours right after class and has a tutor just for her classes. If you try hard enough in her class you will do well.
This was a Hybrid class so alot of the responsibility was on you, but in class she was extremely helpful & supportive. I was in honors Chem sophomore year in high school & it was WAY more difficult. Clear & easy labs. Tests were easy to prepare for. Her email response time was great. You can tell she cares about her students. Extremely intelligent.
This was for a hybrid class, but there was no hybrid component. We were basically learning Chemistry on our own and then coming to the labs. Professor Haque is very scatter-brained and one of those people that always needs to be right. She definitely has a superiority complex and did treat some people like they were stupid. She is just odd.
Class was fine, she's probably the teacher you want if you would like a hybrid course. Very structured and extremely clear about due dates. If you're a full-time student, though, I wouldn't recommend any Chem class in a hybrid form. Your responsibility to learn the lecture material, which can prove to be time-consuming and annoying to keep up with.
At first, I really hate the fact she gave out pop quizzes at the beginning of the semester. However, over the semester I got used to it. Overall, she has high expectations of all of her students, and as long as you meet and exceed her expectations, you will get an A. She wants everyone to do well, however you need to put the work in order to get it
She roasts you. It's really funny once you roll with the punches, but ooooh man don't mouth off because this feisty prof will put you in the ground. Overall good person and is good to have. Does make you work for your grade, but I am terrible at Chem so there's that.
Professor Haque is someone who really cares about her students learning and understanding the material. She can irritate you sometimes but she does care, she is always willing to help and answer questions. You do need the online access codes for the textbook because there are online quizzes that she assign every week. But otherwise you dont need t
This class was unbelievably hard for an intro to chem class. Ms Haque is extremely smart and really knows her stuff but makes the class a lot harder than it needs to be. Averagess on her tests were always around 65%. If you have a chance to take ANY other professor I would adivise doing so, you will not regret it.
She is a really hard teacher to take, and she makes you do a lot of work which are supposed to help you do okay on the tests and quizzes. You do need to put in a lot of extra work and time to learn the material and re-learn since she expects you to know the material before you come to class! Otherwise, I highly recommend her because she is fun! :)
Some of the reviews are very off. Haque goes through every chapter used from the text and creates very detailed powerpoints (30-60 slides) summarizing the main points necessary for learning. The class is tough, but she designs it so that people passing the class walk away with a full understanding of the content. Fully recommend, in her 1552 now!
Her quizzes are open note and her labs are an easy A if you put the time and effort into them. Her tests are DIFFICULT. Tests are 3 parts: MC, T or F lab questions, and the math portion. You need to work hard for an A or a B in her class. She has a wonderful personality and wants all her students to succeed and she knows what she is doing.
Prof. Haque was for sure one of the more difficult professors I took at COD, but she is a strong teacher and helped me learn a lot. This class definitely challenged me, and Prof. Haque will push you to do better, but you can tell she cares about her students. If you put in good effort, you can totally succeed.
This class was so hard for an intro to chem class. 1 quiz every lecture and she never tells you explicitly what will be on it, they are so hard and you only get 10 minutes to take it this can be hard for those with test anxiety. She goes through her lectures too fast, which makes the math hard to get. She also will call on you randomly during class
She's awesome. If her course fits in your schedule, do yourself a favor and register ASAP.
She is one of the best professors for this class. She really cares for her students and stays true to her office hours. Read her slides before class. Memorize the polyatomics because they will come up the whole semester. She has exam reviews before each exam, DO THEM! Come to class, participate, ask questions, get help when confused asap.
She's a really hard professor. However, I learn a lot from her class compared to my second chemistry class, and she gives you a very strong foundation in chemistry. She has a lot of pop quizzes, and you have to read the notes daily in order to do well on pop quizzes, and exams. She is slightly judgemental to those who are undecided.
I was worried about taking this course over the summer but Im glad that I did. Professor Haque is thorough and very helpful. If you listen and pay attention, she tells you exactly what you need to do to get the grade you want, all you have to do is put in the work. Excellent Professor!
good teacher, but i felt unprepared for the second sequence of chem when i transferred. Her tests are unnecessarily hard. I studied for at LEAST a week and a half before each test, went in for help, saw her to discuss problems, etc and i still did horrible on the tests.
She doesn't waste your time having you learn stuff that won't be on the test. DO THE PRACTICE EXAMS ON BLACKBOARD, THEY ARE SO SIMILAR TO THE ACTUAL EXAMS! Attending lectures is critical, there will be quizzes based on the previous lecture almost every class (not as bad as you think). Finally, be ready to hear "We are having fun? Yes??"
You will have a strong foundation for the rest of the chemistry classes. Her exams are difficult but she does provide practice exams & there is tutoring available. She does give pop quizzes but they are only 10% of your grade. Drops lowest exam, 3 quizzes, and lab. If you are a science major I recommend her. Dont be fooled, the class is difficult!
Professor Haque is one of the best professors when it comes to actually teaching her material. The only thing is her lectures get very boring. I took her for chem 1 and 2 and its prolly one of the hardest classes but it def builds a foundation of chemistry for you. DO THE practice test ONLINE, theyre similar, be ready for quizzes everyday
very concerned that we understand the courses. you must be present at these lessons and you will go out during the quizzes
I had the chance to take her summer course online. She gave us plenty of opportunities to ask for help and was not reluctant in spending her time answering questions. She is very understanding when it comes to the labs and especially when the equipment needed is not available. Overall she was a great teacher did a great job helping me out.
Very organized. Emails you weekly about what is expected of you throughout the week, without being annoying. Open notes tests and follows the study guide. Definitely would take again.
She was an amazing chem professor and genuinely wanted us to succeed in her class. Everything was straight forward and we had time every week to review difficult problems. Amazing professor!
Took during fall of 2020, she had lecture videos to watch on your own time. During class meetings, she would review the harder content. Homework is lengthy. She also did have practice problems worked out on blackboard to review. I personally used it as a study guide for exams. Chemistry is a tough subject but if you put in effort, you will pass.
most people don't like her because they think she's "rude", but I think it's just her voice and that she's not actually rude. tests are "difficult", but it's an easy A if you study AND USE THE PRACTICE TESTS!!! we got weekly labs and homework - so easy points. we have to watch lectures outside of class to keep up with content, but it's worth it.
Took her in spring 2021, although I withdrew her class due to coursework overload, still she was a pretty good professor. Very flexible and caring for students and would push back due dates for assignments if the situation needed it. Drops your lowest exam grade. There were pop quizzes but they weren't weighted much, just to show your understanding
Chem is not an easy subject, expect to put in a great amount of work towards studying. She is very organized and emails you what to expected for that week. Weekly labs & hw assignments (which are the most lengthy), & biweekly attendance taken for points. She gives you all the materials needed to succeed in her class, including recorded lectures.
Prof. Haque puts a lot of thought into how her class is organized and what best benefits students' learning. She makes herself available for students who need extra help or would like to review their exams. She is clear about expectations and wants her students to succeed, without giving hand-outs. You will earn your grade.
Great professor. Does anything she can to help you understand the material. Labs were fun because of her.Exams are hard but she has practice exams that will help you. Homework/Labs count towards a lot of your grade. Always available for her students. Just study and attend labs and you will pass! Overall a very good and understanding professor.
Excellent! She knows the content inside out, and knows how to clearly explain it so that the students comprehend and can apply. She does a great job preparing students for each exam and the ACS final. She is organized and thoughtfully plans material in a sequence that makes it easier to understand. Do the homework problems and practice problems!
Prof. Haque is an amazing teacher, she is always willing to help.
Extremely clear instructions for online lab assignments, practice questions and exams helped prepare for exams, recorded lectures, always ready to help during virtual office hours, she made this class very easy, amazing instructor!
As a professor, she was quick to respond to emails and was communicating with students on a weekly basis. However her grading, syllabus, and difficulty was unnecessarily hard. The course almost triple or double the work with the strict rules. Checks on your login time, dates and info to mark as attendance even if all your assingments were done.
Professor Haque is very good. The lectures are easy to understand and the homework is relevant to the chapters and practices you do in class. Be prepared to do a lot of work for labs both before and after. Only complaint is she will mark off attendance points for anything. She is not understanding of life situations when it comes to attendance.
Dr. Haque is an amazing teacher for the online 1105 class, she spent hours helping me complete my labs on time. She is always willing to help and helped me find internships as well!
Clear instructions, demanding but fair, you learn a lot in her class. Gave us a strong foundation for 1552
She is a great professor. She explains things very well and care about every student she receives. She puts in practice exams and practice questions so that people know exactly what is on the test and especially on the final exam. As long as you go to lecture every day and look over the slides beforehand, you should be perfectly fine.
This Professor was really good at giving feedback. She strongly recommended meeting during her office hours to go over your test and would help you with any questions you had. She can sometimes be unforgiving and strict, especially during the labs. If you are going to be sick, she requires that you go to access and accommodations.
Professor Haque is truly outstanding. She is so caring for all of her students and she teaches very well. There is a reasonable amount of assignments and each one helped me to understand the material. She is a very busy woman because she is so dedicated to her work, but she will make time for you whenever you need her. Cannot recommend her enough!
One of the best teachers I have ever had! She is very organized and gives so many resources (powerpoints, practice problems, study guides). She sets her students up for success and on top of it all she is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about chemistry. 10/10 would recommend!
Perhaps the best professor at COD that I have taken so far. She cares about her students. She gives an excellent foundation for chemistry. Make sure you attend all labs and classes if you really want to benefit from her. Her tests are easy and she is very generous with her grading.
She is the best professor on the darn planet. She is very accessible outside of class and she is very caring. She enjoys what she teaches and will provide some very good feedback. I recommend taking her for CHEM. The exams are also very easy if you pay attention on the lectures and practice questions.
In my opinion, any chemistry course is a tough one, but Professor Haque is amazing at explaining the content of this course. She give homework & lab assignments. I would like to point out that she thoroughly teaches everything that's going to be on the exams. It's your job to study & practice the material. If so, you'll be just fine.
I don't think this subject is easy, but Prof. Haque taught me really well, and I scored wonderfully for her course. I also like how she does not force students to buy the carbonless-copy lab manual (we can use any notebook we want for the labs). She also gives us practice quizzes to prepare for the major exams, which was incredibly helpful for me!
haque is extremely helpful, she opened extra office hours to help with questions, she emails regularly about what assignments were missed
I feel very fortunate to have been taught by Professor Haque. She knows how to teach effectively and has many resources on BB for students to do well(posted slides, notes, practice questions). She also always encourages students to see their exams and set up a meeting and is open to questions about class topics or grading.
Prof Haque is awesome! Grades quickly and always replies to emails You definitely have to work to get your grade! Study exam study guides, exams check your basic knowledge from each chapter and are easy. Final is pretty different and more challenging!
She is so sweet and truly cares about her students' success! She's good at teaching, implements practice problems in class, and prepares you for every exam. Every exam has a sheet telling you what to know and she provides practice exams too. She's definitely the best choice for CHEM 1551! 10/10!
Amazing teacher, available through zoom, detailed, fast grader, finished class with a better grade than expected!
It started out as a hard class but after getting help from teacher it became easier. She is extremely quick at replying emails, willing to work with you, and is clearly stating what was needed to complete class.
Prof. H is the most caring and helpful teacher I have had ever! She helped me with my questions before exam, she is always there through zoom, and has extended office hours if we request it. I cannot believe how much I have improved in this class, when the material is not easy.
Professor Haque is an excellent teacher. Her lectures are clear, and she provides great resources like practice problems. While attendance is mandatory, the workload is reasonable. unstuck AI is a helpful study tool alongside the course materials.
Her instructions are not clear enough!!!
Shes a really nice and caring teacher and really wants you to succeed. Not to mention shes soooo generous when grading tests. I got a question with multiple parts wrong and she gave me almsot full points because I had the "right idea" but just wrong Elements used. But the lectures are so boring and they count for attendance which is 9% of ur grade.
Prof. Haque was super sweet and understanding, def knows her chem! Recommend taking her. However, DO NOT think this is an easy A class - you have to put the work in! There are 4 exams and 1 final. Homework weekly, and attendance is part of your grade. PLZ PLZ use her practice problems, practice exams, and office hrs when studying! P.S. go to lab!!
Prof. Haque was always accessible outside of class, she always answered emails fairly quickly. Lowest lab + homework is dropped there are also 4 unit exams plus the final. The final was written by the chem board and it was nothing like her practice final or the previous unit exams. It was super hard but if you put in the work you should be good.
Professor Hague is an amazing professor, it honestly shows how passionate she is about teaching. she responds fast with emails and accessible outside of class and is very happy to help if you're having a difficult time understanding the material. But of course you have to reach out, trust that she's very nice and caring and so easy to approach.
She is passionate about chemistry + wants to help us learn. She is the best prof I've had for labs; very clear in her packets (she writes them for all the chem classes) + she explains the procedures before the lab begins. She's always willing to help during the lab or office hours. Tests can be difficult due to the large amount of material covered.
Haque makes chem SO easy! Just do the practice problems during lecture, the homework, and ESPECIALLY the practice tests and you'll be fine. She lays out exactly what you need to know so simply just do your work and pay attention. She's very very kind and always willing to help. Dw about the final, she prepares you plenty for it.
Pretty hard not to get a good grade in her class. Her lectures and grading are straightforward and grades tests easy. She has humor and actually cares about the students. Labs were super easy just show up and participate. HW every week but quite simple. 4 exams, 1 final. Final is difficult but she'll prepare you. TAKE HER!
Looking back, this class really should have been a stress-free A, not a easy A, but your 100% given every opportunity to do well in Haques class. If you're an engineering major, specifically UIUC pathways 100% take her.
