Great young EXTREMELY energetic, You might get tired following him around the room. Loves what he teaches and shows it. He relates well to his students. His exams are difficult but pulling an all night really pays off. Take this guy
Professor Engelhardt is great! He is funny and will help you with anything so that you can learn the most and great the grade you want. I would certainly recommend him to any of my friends. Actually...I already did! Lol! Just an awesome Professor!
Knows his stuff and is passionate on the subject, good guy, loves chugging water bottles in class, tests somewhat difficult, i recommend this teacher
Nice guy, wears bow ties, walks around a lot, explains notes clearly, drinks 2 water bottles everyday
He's funny. but the exams are worded differently, so they are confusing. He has the funniest gestures, its too cute!
Very knowledgeable. Hard tests. He even thinks his tests are hard.
He is always in a good mood, and keeps your thinking motivated. Though the exams aren't easy, you will pass them with ease if you actually study the material covered.
Great Prof. Very helpful and knowledgeable.
He seems eccentric at first but don't let that fool you. He is a nice person who wants you to understand economics. If you ask the question he will give you the answers. Like most profs if you make the effort he will do what he can to see you succeed.
Extremely energetic and very passionate about his work. Flits around the room never staying in one spot for more than a minute. Have to be interested in the subject and read the text book to fully understand it. Don't be afraid to ask questions for he will answer them until he's blue in the face.
His tests come straight from his lectures. They are a little rough but he allows you to earn back half of the missed points. Good guy and always available if needed. Attendance grade helps too.
Prof. Engelhardt is really interesting, and he shows interest in the topics that are discussed.
He gets involved in the lectures which keeps it interesting. Only problem for me is the length of material we cover in each session can be a lot to try and grasp.
The can be difficult to differentiate but that can be attributed to the content that need be covered. Engelhart is energetic and engaging, I definitely recommend him for the subject.
Professor Engelhardt lets you know what is expected of you from day one, you can not pass this class if you do not study. Even though he gives no review sheets he does however give you homeworks that help you when studying for an exam.
great teacher!
Professor Engelhardt is a good guy! hes very funny, but knows when to stay focused on work. the amount of water he drinks cracks me up! he knows what hes talking about, and makes sure you understand as well! i would tell anyone to take him! once again, hes a awesome professor!
The class is pretty easy. Just show up! I found it a little challenging to keep the notes he puts on the board organized in my notebook... just draw lots of arrows. He WILL test you on the hw questions he puts on vista! If you do/understand the homework questions, you will get at least a 40% on your test.
Very energetic professor. His tests are difficult and he doesn't always explain concepts very well; but, he is incredibly helful and if you ask questions he will do his best to answer them.
One of my favorite professors i have had
Super easy going, and is passionate about his teaching which makes what can be a boring topic to learn a little more interesting. You don't find that very often. Exams may be a little complicated(the mult. choice get me) but after ea the class would have a discussion based on the overall avg, and what would best benefit us(to get a better grade!!!)
OVERALL GREAT PROFESSOR! highly recommend
Attendance is not mandatory, but is necessary to get a good grade. Book is not absolutely needed. Tests are somewhat difficult but he gives you chances to make up points. Grading is fair, and he is nice and dependable.
Really helpful and instructive.
Very excited about Economics and helped with my interests.
A great beginning to a long and fulfilling career as a respected professor. Entertaining and Interesting. Highly Recommended.
Best professor I've ever had. He really cares. Difficult material, but he is extremely helpful. Is open to any discussion..VERY easy to talk to. Gives practice problems for tests, which is so helpful. I had no prior interest in this subject, and now I plan on making a career out of it! TAKE HIM, and stick through it. You'll learn so much! :)
He clearly enjoys what he teaches about, perhaps goes into much more detail than what the class covers, but is willing to answer any questions about the material
You can tell he loves what he does and is very enthusiastic about what he teaches which makes the class fun.
Really knows his stuff, and you can tell he is passionate about it. Only thing is that he moves @ blistering speed, but is more than willing to slow down, even back up, should questions arise. May need a fire extinguisher to quell the flames generated by your pen moving at the speed of light when trying to take notes. HOWEVER posts all notes online
Great teacher! Very interested in what he is teaching. He is very helpful and is avaible for office hours if you need extra help.
Really energetic, really. You get out of the class what you put into it. Go to class, print off the notes, do the 3 homework assignments. He supplies reviews and answer keys online. those are really helpful. You really dont need the book. Definately over prepare for the first exam, it worked for me.
Possibly one of the best Professors I have had at this campus! Has an energetic teaching style and is enthusiastic about the topics discussed. Very personable and respectful towards the students and extremely fair!Is prompt in responses for e-mails and questions. Also, is always available to talk to or help a student. Very knowledgeable!!
Took Principles of Microeconomics w/ him... wasn't sure if I'd like it when I signed up for the course- now Economics is my minor! Prof E is AWESOME! His tests are difficult, but he has a rebate system so you can earn points back after the test. He's one of the best professors I've ever had. I highly recommend taking his classes.
Awesome Professor. Had a little to much energy for, but his pacing in front of the classroom will def. keep you awake. Didn't buy the text and never needed it through out the semester. But like other stated, you get what you give in this class. Show up and take notes and do the homeworks, you'll get no less then a C in the class!
very energetic, wears bow ties on special occasions. yes, his exams are hard, but he posts a study guide and answers online. when he says get to know where you can do the problems in your sleep, he means it! the test problems are exactly the same format, just watch out for the MC. he also has a rebate system to gain half of the missed points back
I hope he never looses his spark or passion for teaching! Or never stops the bow ties, keep them comin'!
Awesome Professor...very intelligent...just needs to speak up a little louder
Good Prof, For the A in the class, get the text. Paces the floor crazily and drink 6 bottles of water per class. No lie. 6 bottles. And the Bow ties are common for him. Great guy though really
Great teacher... Moves through material pretty quickly, but posts all of notes online. Tests are pretty tough, but he has a rebate system to earn some of those points back. Go to class, do the homework and rebates, and you'll have no problem getting an A or B
Great professor!! Really enjoyed his class. Tests are not easy, do the practice problems and know the slides and you will do fine. One of the few classes I really enjoyed going to.
Thoroughly enjoyed this class!
He teaches undergraduates at graduate levels; this is why he has a rebate system, otherwise everyone would get an F. The average test grade was in the sixties before the rebates, this indicates his teaching level. He is passionate about teaching but his voice and walking back and forth lowers the quality of teaching in the classroom.
He knows a lot on the subject but is kind of all over the place with his teaching. He needs to use a PowerPoint it would really help. Overall though the class is really easy. I failed all of the tests and he gives rebates to correct your answers to each test so its pretty much impossible to fail.
I enjoyed this class very much. Made economics fun, even the confusing mathy parts.
He's real quirky, but his class is fun. If you go to class and pay attention you'll get a good grade.
Prof E was extremely helpful and made micro econ interesting. I really enjoyed the class and would be more than willing to take one of his classes in the future.
Go to class, study the slides & forget the book. Also, Prof E is an adequate teacher which is impressive considering his experience. Econ is tough. Prof E. isn't. Students just whine because they suck at econ, but don't be confused. It's not because Prof E is bad. It's because the students are bad.
Prof E. is the best!Hopefully he will also be teaching Macroeconomics so I can register for his class!
Prof. E is a very good teacher. He is really clear and helps you understand if you dont. Do the homework and the rebates (those are really helpful). He's funny and bounces around the classroom like crazy but it keeps class interesting. I would recommend him for any class, very good professor.
Prof E was crazy, but he knows how to teach his subject well. The textbook was not a necessity at all, just pay attention, come to class and do the homework (which is also pretty helpful). I would definitely take another class with him.
Real fun class. Prof E is insane but makes learning fun
While attendence isn't mandatory it really is a help - you get points toward your grade and you learn something. Prof E is crazy, as he admits, but he keeps you interested in the topics. Always have pen and paper, but leave the book at home. Prof E really is a great teacher.
Prof E is a super helpful guy who is really passionate about economics. Go to class and know the notes really well and you will get the grade you want. Overall it was a fun class, and he is a great professor.
Professor E did a great job of working through all of the information in the course. He also provides great study guidelines and gives you all of the information necessary to pass this class. All you have to do is pay attention, do the homework, and study.
Prof. E was a very good professor who allowed the class to get involved and have a hands on understanding of the material. He gave the class all the right materials to obtain a good grade in the class. All you have to do is come to class, pay attention, and study!
Professor Engelhardt is highly knowledgeable and his enthusiasm for the subject makes what would otherwise be dull lectures enjoyable and easy to digest.
Prof E was a great teacher and full of energy. He treated students with respect, and was always available to met after class. His assignments were clear and subject mater was helped tied into everyday life. You can tell he loves to teach and his work. I would suggest him to anyone
he was very helpful in keeping me on track
Has a unique form of teaching, but very helpful in learning the subject matter. Tests are hard, but gives the opportunity to make it up. Class is very interesting, he never stops running around the classroom CONSTANTLY drinking water. Great teacher
Really awesome professor. Made economics enjoyable and learned a lot from the class
It was a good class and he was very fair with grading.
Prof E was a great teacher! Always willing to explain things further. You can tell he loves what he does and what he teaches! Make sure you get him! However do not buy the book for his class, he writes all of the notes on the board!
Amazing professor! He is hilarious, fair, and truly knows his stuff! He kept the class interesting, and easy to relate to. Would love to take another one of his classes, just don't waste your money on the book, I never even opened it!
Super nice prof. His tests are intentionally hard, but with effort you can get the points back on rebates. Super cute mannerisms that keep you engaged even during the most boring topics (and he will read this).
Prof E is an all around great guy. You can really tell he loves what he teaches. Tests are harder then normal but if you do rebates it all even outs. HW, projects and attendance are worth 25% of the class do all of that and you'll do excellent in his class.
I'm not really an economics enthusiast, but Prof E sure is, which made it really easy to want to learn it. He used real life examples to teach his principles and I enjoyed being in his class. This is because the structure was project-based and there was only one exam (the final). Overall I really enjoyed being in this class w/ Prof E!
Awesome teacher very thorough gives great easy to understand examples
Great professor, very helpful. clear notes, very organized. Would definitely recommend for Money, Credit, and Banking. Don't bother to buy the book; he covers everything you need in class.
Thooughly showed knowledge of the subjects which enabled me to grasp the lectures easier. Great professor
He is a smart professor. He sometimes gets carried away with jokes, some are dry, some are poking fun at popular culture like glee. He also uses his hands alot, especially after writing something on the board. I would recommend taking any course that he teaches.
I really enjoyed this course and I don't Usually like Econ classes. But, Prof E is so enthusiastic about what he teaches, its hard not to learn something by the time the class ends. Deff. Take Prof E if you get the chance!
great prov. wize beyond his years
All in all, he's one of the most energetic teachers I've had. He's open to the students, and has time for anyone who isn't sure of the material (and needing clarification). His rebates from his tests gives everyone a chance to pass the class (providing if we study for em'). He's recommended for a teacher to take class with.
Very interesting class. It's not easy but he's super helpful. On the exams you get to redo the questions you missed for half credit back. It helps you understand the things you didn't before. Great teacher.
I had to take this class and was not at all interested. Dr. Engelhardt is one of the best professors I have ever had! His knowledge and enthusiasm made this my favorite class of the semester. Attendance is essential to getting the material and make sure to take good notes. If you need econ, take Dr. Engelhardt.
very eccentric but a good professor. i would take his classes again
Slightly interesting as a person. Really liked his test structure. Gives a a chance for rebate on tests. I'd take him again.
Very good
Prof.E is great. I had to take him twice, but he is truly helpful and cares. Attendance is a MUST! It is essential for taking notes, and you definitely need the notes for the tests. He also gives test rebates, which are really in your favor. Oh, he skips and is very comical.
Good class and really good teacher. The only bad part about the class was that I paid a $100 or so for the book and didn't even take it ou of the plastic. Wasted ney that I didn't have to begin with.
Awesome Prof! Great sense of humor and very helpful. He loves feedback so don't be shy. A little tough but you will definately learn alot from him. I highly recommend this Prof.
Prof E. is a great teacher. He is tough but fair. If you go to class, pay attention, and take good notes you will do fine. Barely needed the book for Money Credit and Banking so you may want to skip buying it. He is always available to help students and is very passionate about the subject. He's one of the most knowledgeable profs I've ever had.
I enjoyed being in Prof E's class. His test are challenging but he gives you opportunities to earn back points. Also, gives assignments for more opportunites for points. If you attend class, take notes, and ask questions you will pass will ease.
I will gladly pay the interest I acrued on my student loan that paid for this class. If you put in the effort you will be rewarded.
He is VERY knowledgeable is the subject. He also shows interest in it. He loves what he teaches. Make sure to go see him before you turn in redemptions and DO EXCEL PROJECTS ON TIME!!! GREAT TEACHER!!!!
Professor Engelhardt genuinely cares for his students, and is not hesitant to help you if you're struggling! He makes the class interesting, and I'm no economics whiz nor did I have interest in the subject before. His tests are tough, but he allows you to earn back half the points you missed with rebates. Excellent professor! Wish he taught macro.
Awesome professor, notes are posted online and easy to follow. Always willing to clarify.
Economics is BORING that being said at least he is animated and brings a little life to a subject that bores me to death. His tests are challenging but I believe you get what you deserve. If you attend class, do the assignments and study a little you will pass
Great Prof, very organized class. Has two exams throughout the semester and one final (not comprehensive). Come to class, take notes, and do a super easy homework and excel project due every Sunday at midnight.
Englehardt is a great professor. Lots of opportunity for points and he helps you whenever you need it. Makes class exciting and material relevant to actual economic situations. Also lets you "rebate" half of of the points you miss on exams, which is a life-saver because his exams are fairly difficult. Would definitely recommend him.
Had him for Principles of Management for 2.5 hours at night. Brutal time but easy enough class. He's super personable and you'll laugh for sure. Pay attention and take some notes, you'll be fine.
This class was not the most fun, but somewhat easy since you can do it on your own time. Prof. Engelhardt is helpful if you ask for it, and you can always email other classmates.
Makes Econ interesting. Brings energy to class so he wasn't just droaning on. Has a sense of humor that is somewhat groan inducing, but fits my own so I chuckled consistently. As long as you put some time into studying you should have no problem at all on the tests, but he also gives test rebates to get some missed test points back.
His lectures are very good and he makes a boring topic more interesting. Don't even bother buying the textbook, I never even touched it. You have to do homework every week but it's not hard. Show up and do the work and a little bit of studying and you'll do fine.
Very good professor. The class can get rather boring but he is passionate about the subject and it shows in his teaching. Lectures are very helpful and allows rebates on tests which is a lifesaver because his tests are rather difficult. He is more than willing to help if you are struggling. I would highly recommend taking him.
Currently in his micro class online, and it is one of the worst decisions I have ever made. Way too much work for not being a hands on class. Although he posts videos of the material, trying to use that as a baseline for your 8 excel projects, 3 papers and 16 online homework assignments is nearly impossible. Definitely would not recommend.
The online class is VERY HARD!!!
He is great. he is very helpful and will take the time to explain anything you do not understand. he moves around a lot during his class. so if your one to watch people while they talk you might want to rethink it during his class. its a lot of material but he is passionate about it. oh yeah keep up with the excel projects!!
Dr. Engelhardt was the light of my first semester of college. He is everything that a college students wants in a professor, and then some. I absolutely loved going to his class and highly recommend taking his courses.
I liked Dr. Engelhardts class, sometimes the lectures got quite boring but he always made class interesting. He moves around ALOT. very energetic, overall I had a good experience in his class
I really enjoyed this course. Dr. Engelhardt is a very knowledgeable and fair professor and I found his lectures interesting. He is very organized, and is great at answering any questions you may have. You don't really need the book as long as you attend lecture. Tests and attendance make up most of your grade. Take good notes and you'll do great!
I will admit straight off the bat, I did not earn a passing grade but it is my fault entirely. Difficult for myself personally, but this was my first microeconomics course I have ever taken. I would not hesitate to take his class again for an improved grade. Makes lectures very enjoyable but don't hesitate to put in your own work outside of class!!
I just started his online class, and I would NOT recommend taking it So many mini quizzes, and lectures. Which is very hard to understand what he's getting numbers from.. instead of explaining in detail of how to work a problem out, he just keeps moving. Oh watch out for trick questions It seems to pass this class u need to spend all ur time on it
I loved Professor Engelhardt! Microeconomics isn't an easy course but he explained things very well and was always available if you needed extra help. He moves pretty quickly, but he doesn't mind if you stop him to ask questions. If you have to take Prin. of Microecon., I'd definitely suggest him!
Professor Engelhardt was a great professor. He allows you to make up half the points you miss on exams and he lectures are clear and the the point. His knowledge when it comes to Economics is impressive and is very approachable. I highly recommend taking his class and hope to have him for classes in the future.
Very engaging prof, very clear grading system, don't miss review days, he covers the entire test if you ask him questions.
This was the worst class I have taken while at KSU. This professor does so much its rediculous. The work consisted of weekly excel projects, 3 papers + 1 book report, 1 paper on an econ. article, + weekly HW (if you don't understand that weeks material the HW can be a nightmare, wrong answers lead to more Q's Went to tutors, they couldn't even help
This one a very unique professor. With the class starting off easy but getting super hard at a certain point. But the professor is very lenient and just wants to see that you are trying. But the material is very easy to fly over ones head. But just show some effort and you should do fine.
Dr. Engelhardt gives very clear grading criteria so you don't have to do every assignment he hands out. Every class is a lecture and be prepared to talk with the people around you. There is a lot of outside learning required and in-class is mainly a review of the material you learned outside of class.
Professor Engelhardt is a great guy. He is super nice and funny and wants to help you succeed. He is very available to help you outside of class and answer any questions. He has a specific way of grading that I didn't love, but others really enjoyed, so it is very individual. The only downside to his class is that there is a lot of work/assignments
I enjoyed Professor Engelhardt however I found it difficult to understand what he would put as his prompt when writing papers. Even after emailing, I struggled to understand it had a direct impact on the stress level. I do enjoy his grading scale as the grade is determined by how much effort the student gives to the class and assignments.
I love Prof Engelhardt. Such a sweet man that REALLY wants you to succeed. If I could change one thing about his class: his grading system. He is very fair with student grades, but his overall system is a bit strange. I opted out of an optional oral exam because of extreme anxiety... and this unfortunately disqualified me from finishing with an A.
Doesn't give actual grades. You submit the work and recieve credit, he has it organized in a chart in the syllabus. ALWAYS check with the syllabus, not him, he barely understands it himself. Homework isn't terribly hard, didn't read the textbook one bit or watch any lectures. Due dates aren't concrete, just have them done by October 15th.
