This teacher is not very clear when teaching. I felt like a robot. Copy notes, do homework.Without my notes, i'de be lost. Didnt really explain material well, I learned it better by the book. Skips steps when teaching, so if you suck at math, he is not a good teacher for you. Every day a "problem of the day" and a "review" Tons of homework as well

Horrible teacher. Gives homework before explaining the material. And when h.w. is turned in he goes over a couple problems (way too quickly) and then assigns class work on what the h.w. is on. Lectures were very clear and intuitive, making the difficult material more bearable. He will go over the same concept multiple times if you feel lost and goes the extra mile to make class entertaining. The exams aren't easy, but he gives plenty of practice exams to help prepare and grades fairly. Overall one of the best math professors at SJCC.

Professor Randall is an excellent math professor. He is passionate about what he does and offers two breaks during class in the summer term so we don't overexert ourselves. His quizzes and tests are very doable as long as you pay attention to lectures. If you plan on taking MATH073, be on the lookout for his class! 100% worth taking!

Great teacher, but this is BY FAR the hardest class that I have EVER taken. The class is extremely fast paced, even in the semester system. Expect to be covering a lot of material everyday, and expect to be quizzed every week. Exams are also very difficult and even spending hours studying for them will not guarantee an A grade.

Hands down the best teacher I've ever had !!! SJCC is lucky to have such a great professor. Lectures are straightforward and easy to understand. He jokes around to keep students' attention. He does not allow notes or calculators for any of his classes. But he does add an extra credit question to the exams. His grading is very fair, if not generous.

I am just lazy in his class so I get a B, but if you pay attention on his class you'll get an A easily. If you want to succeed in your career or get the knowledge this class is for you. Trust me, if you cant do well in math, you will have big trouble when transferring SJSU. Especially if you are in engineering major.

Randall takes time to break down concepts so they are easier to understand. No calculators, notes, and not open book for tests, meaning that the tests are more towards concepts than computation. Quizzes are done routinely every week, but as long as you pay attention to the lecture, he gives hints to what will be assigned. Overall, great professor!

Course may seem fast paced, but professor ensures transparency for quizzes/exams. He doesn't directly tell you, but as you get to know him, you can tell his tale for hints. Show up on time, pay attention the lectures, and ask questions and you will succeed. If having trouble, go to his office hours. Funny professor, and also very approachable.

The professor tends to focus on the details in exams, quizzes, and homework, which is common in math classes. If you have previously had a math professor who did not give weekly quizzes—just exams—this class may take some time to adjust to. He can be a little sassy at times, but he is helpful to every student. 10/10 would take again.

Arguably the best instructor I've had in my life. He is very passionate about math, and it pays off extremely well. Randall's lectures made me genuinely enjoy math for the first time in a while, and I felt well-prepared for all of his tests/quizzes. The only downside to taking this class is that it begins at 7:45 AM, which killed my sleep schedule.
