Huge curve. No one scored lower than a "C", even people who never showed.
ive never gotten an easier C in my life, I took 1 test.

Her name is actually Lucia- easy class, but boring at times.
I was one of those that never showed. B-. Annoying voice, dont bother going.
Get that easy GE out of the way. She will taken your final grade from the final
Very boring all she does is talk

Easy tests but BORING class
boring, but smart professor...teaches straight from the book that she helped write. lectures are somewhat boring, but covers all material to be on exams very well.
she knows her stuff and her tests are easy
SHE CONFUSES HERSELF AT TIMES WHICH IN TURN CONFUSES ME BUT SHE IS QUICK TO GET LECTURE CORRECTIONS ON THE WEBSITE.
She really wants to help, if anyone needs help, call her and you can see her later that day. Her explanations are clear and she makes the material make sense.
I liked her in general, class is pretty easy
No Comments
The class is so boring and it sucks taking tests with 700 people but she gives you old exams which are nice!
I really liked this class. It can be boring but she is a really nice teacher and insanely easy too. All you have to do is go over her notes the night before and just do your best to understand the concepts. Her exams are easy as hell.
Annoying teacher! Never lets class out early. Class is not a breeze, but it aint to tough.
I have a very hard time stayin awake in that class
She explains things several times over and over again which makes her an excellent teacher. She does get boring because of this, if she learns how to balance this out, she would be excellent
One of the better professors at the university in my opinion. She knows her stuff, and conveys the information well.
There are a lot of resources available to students who want to do good in the class. She gives great power points that make (what I found to be) a boring subject seem bearable...and I learned!
very nice teacher
Nice lady, boring class.
Lectures seemed long but she does really know her stuff. tests were on the difficult side had to study more than i thought but as long as you are really prepared you will be fine.
Very helpful lady. She knows what she is talking about, but the lecture was pretty boring. I skipped class often and still got a B+.
I enjoyed this class. It wasn't too hard and I learned. SHe also provided plenty of test reviews and practice test problems
I love her accent, she's straight out of the Ya Ya Sisterhood or something - I can totally picture her sitting on the porch in Georgia drinking a bottle of Southern Comfort. Hard class, nice teacher, go to lecture and read the book!
had a hard time staying awake in class (for the times i actually went). her powerpoint slides are over the top but she explains well and offers office hours. go to recitation and you'll be fine
if i could stay awake in her class, im sure she would be a great teacher, but I cant. She likes to repeat herself alot and thats just annoying. I hate teachers who cant just get to the point
Very nice lady, and very fair. I'm a History major, and I had no trouble getting a B in the course. Offers a ton of extra credit and practice for exams, which have a gigantic curve.
She teaches only from slides, which all mix in your head after 1/2 hour. Monotonous class, but exam not too hard.

worst class to ever sit through. lectures off slides. boring lecture. couldnt stay awake. nice lady and very helpful, but not a fun class
Boring lecture. Very nice but for such a large class you don't really ever talk with her unless you go in to see her. Class is easy, midterm is realitively easy as long as you skim over reading. TA's suck.
Lectures boring and easy to fall asleep in. Keep on top of the work and you should be fine, just don't fall behind after the first midterm.
Boring lecture, well organized. TA's not bad.. but not good either. Midterms and grading fair. Lots of opportunities for review

Lectures were dreadfully boring. The class is not horrible if you get a decent TA (mine sucked!). Do not expect her to be helpful outside of class she is cofusing and rude.
Very easy class. Study the slides and do the practice exams and you should make an A or B no problem. Gives extra credit quizzes to boost your grade as well.
Slides aplenty! I hardly was awake for this class because it bored the pants off me. But if you could sit and study slides and memorize graphs it was all easy. Very easy to talk to. Everythink you had to know she told you.
Has a great curve system to help you receive an A or B. Try to get a good TA.
Lectures are boring, but not a hard class if you can pay attention. I would say take AG Econ, though.
This class was SO boring... but not exactly hard. Just try to pay attention. You can pull it off without going to class if you read the book.
SHE IS AWESOME
Econ and my brain do not mesh well, so I actually had a hard time comprehending some of the material, and my TA sucked. BUT...Dunn really is a very understanding helpful good proffessor. I showed up an hour late to an exam and she stayed late w/ me so I could take it. Make sure to read and do the recommended study guide problems. They help!
Dunn was a very nice professor. Lectures were boring and some of the material was hard to understand. The TAs provide minimal help, but they do their best. If you want to succeed in the class, read the book as much as posisble and don't be afraid to ask for extra help.
class was a joke, i went to lecture maybe 6 times all quarter, never even opened the book and received a B+ ... if i actually tried i probabl would've received an A
after the first week i would read the relevent chapters once in a while and show up for tests. i couldnt stand listening to her talk about guns n budda anymore. still did fine in the class. an easy gec
anyone who says this class was hard is probably a retard. I didn't read or even show up for classes and i still got an A. You only have to study her examples to get an A. Make sure you buy her slides with the Previous Exams included. Really made the class easy. If you have logic, you don't really have to know the answers to the question
She is the coolest professor I have had, especially for an older woman. Her class is easy to understand and the exams are staright-forward.
Dunn is the way to get through Econ 200. Never used the book. All exam material is straight from the slides she teaches from, also posted on Carmen. Grading is very fair and usually a curve. It is clear she loves to teach so her class is easy to get through. Recommended
Going to class is optional but helps to understand the graphs. Lectures are boring but she seems genuinally interested in teaching. Tests are fair, study from old exams. Take advantage of the extra credit homework. Also if your TA is bad change it right away, it can make a big difference. Go to the review sessions. Pretty easy class overall.
I didn't really go to class, since everything is online. Not hard, but be prepared to memorize lots and lots of graphs. Go to recitation, there is extra credit almost every week. It'd be nice if the test were written without mistakes everywhere
its all about Guns and Budda. ha. great professor. dont waste your money on the book and buy an older edition for 10 bucks online. you wont look at it anyway. dont bother with the study guide. all you need is to ocme to class , extra cred , and pp slides. Most TA's only speak fluent chinese, except Banerjee -he's cool. Take it.
I though that this class was fairly hard, although I did get an A without going to class. I studied outside of class which helps, and get all the extra credit points.
She doesn't know how to explain anything. She pretty much just reads what's on the slides. You don't have to show up. Don't bother buying the book. Just print off the slides and study them. Do the extra credit and show up for recitation and you should get an A.
I suck with math or any kind of formulas but she made it pretty understandable. She is pretty good at explaining everything, the lectures are just so boring because of the subject. One suggestion is to go to the review sessions held by TAs before the tests. The one before the final helped a ton
Usually held in a large large lecture hall..my class had 750 kids in it, so if you don't like being overwhelmed and listening to a proof speak from a microphone this isn't the class for you.
This professor was awful- hated listening to her twice a week. Rarely attended lecture. Learned mostly everything from the book and just read over her power points. With a curve, got a B+.
excellent professor, great slides
I like professor Dunn, love her class! She is really good at teaching, her slides is excellent, making everything quite straitforward, easy to understand! Because of her, I become interested in Econ.
shes ridiculous. her exams are straightforward, but only if you understand anything about econ before taking the class. she doesn't explain things very well and her slides only show the concepts and nothing about application, which is whats on the tests. good luck if you have to take her.
horendous. if you feel like lowering your GPA, go for this class. maybe if you have a liking for mumbling professors and watching every letter pop on the slide shows one at a time you'll like her. her grading system is beyond horrible and is most likely the worst teacher i've had at ohio state. ha, good luck taking this class.
ECON 200 is a breeze, but it was no thanks to Professor Dunn. Her long lectures are very hard to get through and she gets off topic quite a bit. Her slide shows aren't all that helpful so listening to what she says is an unavoidable hazard of the class. Her grading scale is AWESOME though! Tons of bonus added in after they set the curve.
Went to all but 1 lecture and I think it helped because she explains the slides rather than me trying to teach it to myself. Boring to listen to but if you go to class, it's easy to get a good grade. Go to recitation and get the extra credit!
pretty easy teacher...just go to class and all the test qs come from lecture. don't bother getting the book, because if you go to class you'll get everything you need to know. her class kinda sucked and a lil boring, but it was easy enough to make it worth takin it with her.
pretty easy teacher. just go to class and all the test qs come from lecture. don't bother getting the book, because if you go to class you'll get everything you need to know. her class kinda sucked and a lil boring, but it was easy enough to make it worth takin it with her.
She was a very good and fair teacher. The first professor that I have had at OSU that actually taught me some of the material, without me having to learn it all myself. Her exams are very fair and well written. Using the textbook study guide is helpful. Overall, a very good professor who is interested in and passionate about teaching economics.
Rob, the TA, should be teaching this. Rob?? Rob??
Easy class, no need to really attend if you read the book. She pretty much just goes over the powerpoints which are online. Exams aren't bad either. Do the extra credit and go to recitation to get the quiz extra credit points.
It's hard to distinguish if Econ 200 itself is terrible or if it's just Lucia. Avoid this class if you can. Only grades are 2 midterms and final, very minimal extra credit opportunities (20 hw ?s for a whole 1/5 of a point), curved which is nice, but exam questions are VERY confusing and difficult. Subject matter absolutely sucks. good luck.
She was a good teacher, very optimistic and did a decent job teaching a large class on a boring subject. I thought Dunn was very nice.
she just reads her powerpoint EVERY DAY
Went to class twice all quarter and easily got an A. She curves the class so the top 20% get A's. Therefore you cant argue that shes not fair. Go to recitation for the extra credit.
A little boring but a fair class. Always willing to help. Easy to get an A if you want it.
Even though she usually mostly read her powerpoints in lecture, she also explained them in detail and had interesting examples that went along with the main ideas. It is a good class to take to learn some basics about how markets work every day.
She was an ok teacher. I think the subject matter in itself was rather boring and most people fell asleep in class. If you are able to stay awake in her lectures you will do fine but be prepaired to read the book or borrow someones notes if you can't. Only thing I didn't like is you only have 3 tests which make up your whole grade.
Pretty boring. Hard final too.
Decent teacher, lectures are available online so going to lecture is unnecessary. Exams mirror the "old exam" packet that is online, use that to study. Very easy class.
I changed my major to ECON after this course. Lucia is amazing she made the topic interesting, easy to understand and relevant all in a 500 person lecture hall format!
Professor Dunn realizes that the 500 people in her lecture are there to meet requirements and not to completely master economics. She provides examples of all of the questions that you will be asked to solve on exams. She provides her old finals on Carmen as well as her notes (the notes you actually need, not every word in the book).
She goes over everything so thoroughly its boring, but if you can manage to pay attention you'll learn the material. She teaches straight from the book, so either lecture or reading will keep you up to date. Pretty simple tests if you do the practice ones. Lots of easy extra credit and no essays. I'd take her again if I could.
Very nice lady. She genuinely knows her stuff and is passionate about it. Class material is very organized but take good notes on top of the slides because a lot of the things she says are important! It's a boring class but to succeed in this one, really pay attention and don't fall asleep! She explains things so well you might not need the text!
Oh my gosh, first of all this class material is boring. Second, she just mumbles on about stuff that makes no sense. I didn't take econ in high school, so I was completely lost coming into this class. Her tests are fair if you keep up with the work but UGH someone needs to reconsider the content of this class. It's incredibly boring.
Very knowledgable, makes tests fairly easy. Textbook is helpful, but she posts all Powerpoints on Carmen, so you can get by without it. Large auditorium, so be prepared for constant talking around you. She tries to maintain order, but the class is just too big. Recommended for majors or GEC.
She is a good professor. Her lectures are boring but she give a lot of extra credit and curves the class and you do not need to attend lecture. Make sure you get the study guide for the course because if you do the questions in it before the midterms or exams then you should get an A.
Great professor. Buy her power point slides, go to lecture and recitation, and you will get an A.
Midterms & final were harder than necessary
There's only 3 grades in the class and the recitation quizzes are for extra credit but a very slim amount. Just read the book and download the slides from carmen.
Prof Dunn is the best and super nice professor in my four years at OSU. She is so elegant and well-prepared and so nice to every student, especially the disabled student. I like her soooo... much!!!
I'm afraid she's getting too old. She often misspeaks, saying the opposite of what she means, leaving it to the few students actually paying close enough attention to correct her. Nice lady sure, but teaching skills are declining. Also, careful picking your TA, mine was pleasant, but barely spoke audible English.
Really easy class. She's pretty clear when she lectures, but she goes off on tangents sometimes.
In class, everything was easily understandable when she spoke. You never had a problem with comprehending since the book assigned is simple but elaborated reading. The midterms are pretty clean cut as long as you study the powerpoints and reading and final is cumulative.
She was nice, but the class was 700 people and she is deathly boring and hard to focus on
Friendly, gives a curve, will to work with you, attendance is not mandatory but if you dont want to buy the book (b/c you really never use it) it recommended you attend all lectures and recitations. Would take her again if i could.
She wasnt too bad as a teacher, but having a class with 700 people was extremely difficult to concentrate. Her class was soo boring. And Her notes werent clear and havent been updated since godknow when. They were full of graphs and not enough explanation. The grade distribution system sucked. Take a smaller class if you can.
Incredibly boring class. I struggle to stay awake every time I go. The exams are way harder than they need to be and her slides are not very clear. The class was just way too big to do well in.
I really enjoyed her as a teacher! Sometimes hard to focus because the material was somewhat dry, but she explained everything very well and the exams follow very closely with the notes. Attend class, pay attention, and you'll get a good grade!
Don't waste your time going to the lectures, it's impossible to stay awake. Take notes on the powerpoint slides and go to recitation. She wastes a lot of time on getting the class to settle instead of actually lecturing. Study your slide notes.
Such a big class with just this one little lady in the front. Even though it can be hard to pay attention in lecture sometimes, it is beneficial to still go though. Just two midterms and a final and optional homework and optional quizzes.
The material is extremely easy if you just read the book and follow along with her slides. I went to lectures rarely because they were hard to take away from. She's really incredibly boring and wastes a ton of time trying to settle the class (of 700). It's truly ridiculous. Nice lady, terrible teacher.
She is very helpful and be sure to make every concept clear .Midterms are easy but final is a little hard.
Easy class, good lecturer. Went to lecture 5 times. She just goes over powerpoints. If you can AVOID Independence Hall, do it. Offers a lot of extra credit on top of a curved grading scale. To get an A, do the practice probelems after taking your own notes on her slides. Go to recitation. Tricky wording on midterms and final. Rarely used the book.
She is really boring and has a weird accent. But overall it is an very easy A to get.
Lucia is adorable and seems to love teaching. Very little work compared to other micro classes. Just 2 midterms and a final plus weekly extra credit problems that can add up to 4% on your final grade. Lectures are kind of long and dry but you don't have to read if you take notes.
Only went to class for the midterms, final and to turn in the homework. Read the textbook and follow the schedule of the course syllabus. Also, make sure you do all the homework (extra credit) because it can add 4% to your grade. Review the PowerPoints the day before the test and you should be fine. Midterms are pretty easy. Final is a bit tricky.
The lectures can sometimes be long, but it is microeconomics. She is a good lecturer who cares about her students. When I went to office hours, she was incredibly helpful and was otherwise one of the most compassionate professors I have ever been lucky enough to talk to! If you're taking micro, take Lucia Dunn.
She's a very sweet lady who genuinely likes micro economics. However she's a very boring lecturer. I generally didn't go to lecture and did just fine.
SP15: 90 min. class twice a week. No recitation. Homework is extra credit. No quizzes. 2 Midterms and a Final. If you do bad on midterms, the final can be counted as 100% of your grade. Lectures are boring and a waste of time. Just read her PPTs and the book. I only went to lecture to hand in my homework. Tests can be tough(know PPTs inside out)
Lectures can seem boring, but are packed with clearly-presented information. Grading system maximizes the opportunity to do well and rewards improvement (midterms won't even count if 2x your final grade is higher than midterm 1 + midterm 2 + final, and midterms can be dropped if one midterm x2 is higher than adding them together). Extra credit too!
Boring lectures, aren't necessary, study the power point and u'll be fine. She puts them online and all questions are derived from powerpoints. Only 3 grades, 2 midterms and a final
Incredibly boring lectures. If you decide to go, bring something else to do so you won't fall asleep. Don't get the two books either, I never opened either of them. There are quizzes and homework in recitation, but both are extra credit.
This class isn't bad. Simply show up to lecture, take notes, and study for the two exams and one final. I bought both books recommended by her, but I only ever used them once or twice. It's a huge lecture, but she's a focused lady, and she's fairly entertaining. Easy class for me.
Very clear and organized lectures, she says that you should read the text book but it's not necessary because everything on the exams is from her power points. If you go to lectures or just print out the power points you will be fine. There is no need to even buy the book so don't waste your money. Extra credit for going to recitation too.
Professor Dunn is extremely passionate about the economy and is good at making concepts relatable to students. Content was often dry and hard to make interesting, which led to long lectures, but they are still worth going to. I did fine on the two midterms without reading the textbook, and all homework and quizzes are extra credit. Would recommend.
Has all the lectures online, but that doesn't mean you don't have to go to class. She is honestly like your grandma, she cares for you dearly. Make sure to go to recitation because you get extra credit! Class is out of 100 points only, and you can get up to 7% EC! Either takes 2 Midterms & Final, or Final x 2, depending whichever one is higher.
Gives many extra credit. Sit in the front row so you can hear. Extremely nice grade distribution. Very kind lady. All lectures for the entire year is posted online from day 1. Materials very direct and easy to understand. Would recommend.
Her lectures are not boring at all and usually her tests are extremely fair. If you use the student guide she recommends you will do very well on the exams. Do all the homework and take all the quizzes in recitation for extra credit! It got me to an A!
