very hard to understand, nice, very smart, and enjoyable, but grades hard
Grades hard, difficult to understand, but knows her stuff.
Strange grader; LOTS of reading; knows material but forgets other stuff...
Very arbitrary grader. She will fail you if SHE loses your paper. Confusing.
incoherent lectures, but she's nice and willing to help students out if needed.
hard to understand, doesn't understand other writing styles, but offers help!
No exams, lots of papers. very willing to help with anything- no reason to fail
Great prof, tricky T/F (read/know book), class picks discussion topics.
nice old lady that can confuse the hell out of you on her grading policies
Lectures duplicate readings. Tests are hard bc of weird wording. Read carefully!
Great teacher, lots of Essays and thick accent, better than most classes.
loved her, gives a lot of essays but grades easily
all essays which are easy, lectures get confusing but if you read you'll be fine
unorganized, hard to follow. nice lady... poor teacher.
if she gives a choice, do in-class exams (not take-home)
one of the best teachers I've had my entire life - amazing mind
very nice, but extremely unclear. TONS of reading and essays, way too much work

sweet older Italian lady but very very hard to understand and very hard tests
very easy. CMP and modern were a breeze.really nice but lectures are BORING!
Lectures can be hell unless you sleep. The easiest phil prof I've had.
very old but sweet; hard to understand lectures;essay tests but easy if read boo
Only 3 papers, basically just discuss readings in class, easy if you write well

I want to be so wacky/smart when I am her age. Absent-minded but brilliant prof

dont go to class, if you can write a paper you'll get an A
Interesting woman, and semi-interesting class
Open note/book tests, tests unclear but manageable. Must do readings thoug
If you have an IQ over 100 you should get an A. Lectures are very boring

best course i have ever taken
extremely euro-centric. lectures are pointless, just read the book.
best teacher in dept., interesting lectures
easiest phil class! dont bother with readings, write a decent paper- get an A
friendly, slightly batty old lady, entire grade based on a few papers
very very very very boring...she has her favorites...ughhhhhhhh
Easy class if you can write a half way decent paper...
Easy, never read the book except for essays, skip as often as you want
easy as hell.
sweet lady. teaches well, VERY easy grader if you put some effort in
Half of the questions on tests were brought up in class. Didn't even need to read book, just leafed through while writing take-home exams. If you write well and quote excessively, it's really easy. Lectures are kinda boring, though.

Boring class bring other work to do but easy if you can write well
nice lady, thick accent but you get used to it. so easy, don't even need to read the book. take this class.
palmer is so so so smart, and she wants everyone to understand ... if you give her the time and go an extra step you will learn a great deal from her ... nicest prof here

What is this lady talking about? Thick-ass accent, NO ONE pays attention, people leave- totally ridiculous!
THere's no use going to class. Just read the texts or get internet info. She should be in a nursing home, not teaching at UD.
okay,if i only could understand her. She appears very intelligent, but there is a wall between you and her for gaining knowledge it is that dam accent!!
Nice lady, but useless lectures. Either bring other work or don't go. Reading the book is also worthless. Easy A/A- though if you can write some decent papers.
Very boring. Lectures hard to follow. Class is a waste of time. Keep your mouth shut or she'll make an example of you!
Borring lectures, poor handwriting (dont sit in the back), thick accent, but !! - you dont actually need to hear or see anything she does! Either show up and pay attention through the lectures, or read the books. Doing either will be enough to get an A.
nice lady, but not nice teacher. long ass papers, and she doesnt even read them, the TA does. so dont expect an A just cuz the class is sooo boring and irrelevant., and don't ever go to class, unless you like to sleep in a hard wooden chair.
Damn near impossible to follow...
Well, go to class and listen to her lectures. Read the text if you want to, but you just write papers on your opinion of someone else's opinion of some dead guy... You can't really go wrong, I got an A
I don't know if a class can be unfairly easy, but if it can, this one certainly qualifies. She's a trip, bad accent, soft speaking voice, she tries to help but generally doesn't succeed. Tests are all take home, easy A
She has an accent and it's hard to hear her. She doesn't teach. Her tests are fairly easy, but they are take home essay, we had one over Halloween AND THANKSGIVING. She doesn't understand students questions, interrupts and doesn't let students speak!
Few nuggets short of a happy meal, but in a good way. Tests are all take home, so you do not have to read the book but at least skim over the article and reference it in your paper and you will do fine.
Great prof...very concerned about her students. Difficult to understand, but writes notes on the board. Exams are not easy, but they are take home.
this class is a joke! me and my buddy wennt to this class about 10 times the whole semester and we both got A's. the take home tests are right out of the text book. it is also pointless to go to class, because you cannot understand what she says
easy class...nice professor....take home exams...lots of reading
Easy to get an A. Readings are kind of long and boring, but the essay topics are easy. Both exams are take-home (two 4-page essays each). Weakly one-page papers. Everything's graded easily.
Really easy, and she's a sweet lady. The exams are take-home and she tells you which pages the answers are on. Try to take both Ancient and Modern with her, she'll favor you tons.
easy class. nice professor. take home exams. moderate reading for a philosophy class.
Really nice lady but a horrible class. Knowledgeable about material but not talented in conveying the message. She is losing it! Do the readings - they are often clearer than she is. Go to class. She often takes attendance and gives extra credit. EZ A, A-
very nice lady...passionate about philosophy...a little hard to understand but the material is fascinating
why is she still teaching!!!....lectures are unclear. exams are easy, but long...nice lady but class not worth the effort. learned more from the readings than the class.
Had a lot of trouble with the accent. In addition the teaching aids have more control over your grade than she does so, make sure you don't know them b/c they will give you a grade based on their oppinion of you. Everyone copy's infoofftheinternet-dont
Great person, extremely knowledgable. Grading sometimes is a little confusing. She's more of one of those love her or hate her profs.
unclear assignments, biased grading, boring lectures.
hard to understand. tells exactly whats on the test. open note and easy exams. no midterm or final. either read and dont go to class, or dont read and go to class. really interesting topics and nice teacher. take the class
interesting class if you feel like going, easy A even if you dont. prof is easy to talk to, funny, knows her stuff. take this class
Easy class, but don't bother trying to learn anything from her. Read the book on your own, and don't expect intelligent conversations in class. Palmer caters to a typical student's desire to be lazy apathetic. This is what's wrong with her class, it adapts itself to accomodate torporous people
Very easy class. Open note tests and she pretty much tells you what every question is before the exams.
Very hard to understand accent, so I never went to class. Grades are all based on papers, so I just used the internet to get basic info. It was like I wasn't even taking this class - just showed up every now and then to hand in the papers. Easy A. (Very sweet lady, though, if Phil is your thing)
If you want an A, take her class. You also learn alot too because the reading is interesting. She's a nice lady and wants people to do well so she basically tells you what will be on the test.
Honors class has no tests, but has 4 pretty long papers. Class is usually discussing and debating readings. Talk a lot and she'll love you. Papers aren't hard as long as you understand what you read and articulate your own thoughts. Very interesting class
A little hard to understand at first, but she wasn't that bad. Very easy, goes over pretty much every question on the test before the test, open notes. Great professor to take, easy A.
I highly recommend this class. Exams were open-note and straightforward. Go to class, take good notes, and you'll get an A. Don't need to read the book, but was still a good reference. Although a little difficult to understand because of her accent, she was extremely sweet and helpful!
This lady is the sweetest lady ever. If you have to take contemporary moral problems, take her. It's such an easy class. If you go to class the day before the test she gives you every question that will be on the test. All the tests are open note, essay,so easy. Sit near the front if you want to understand her, otherwise sit back and enjoythe easy A
Difficult class, but Dr. Palmer REALLY knows ancient philosophy and REALLY cares for teaching. Honestly, the class is not exciting, but if you take an interest in ancient philosphy you will immediately see her love for the subject. Grading is freaking awes
If you can understand a word she says, you're a lucky person. Seriously.

Prof. Lucia Palmer is an excellent teacher and I HIGHLY reccomend YOU to take her class.

I took this class honors and you dont ever have to go, because she grades strictly on 4 essays. You cant understand a word she says so basically you can go and laugh at pointless discusion
This professor lacks any semblance of clarity. Moreover, her inability to swallow her pride and read something by a student that outclasses anything she has done is rather vexing. If you write intelligently, are not a moron, do not take this course as you will gain nothing. This class is great for people that cannot write b/c she can't as well.

she's so nice, but very hard to understand because of her accent and quiet voice.

The class is easy bc of take home exams but going to class is pure torture. Maybe its worth it to get the grade but the class is excruciating bc she is so quiet and coughs all the time (smokes like a chimney). She can also be quite disrespectful to students. She is very old, talks very slowly, and has thick accent. Sadly I doubt i learned anything
You can barely understand anything she says; not only does she talk with an accent, but she doesn't talk above a murmur. She's always confused and mixing stuff up. Class was easy though; consisted of three exams that were mostly true and false with an essay question at the end. However, I'll never take this class again if I had the choice.
very nice lady, but class is boring...impossible to understand. most of the class is discussion(people yelling at each other.) grade determined by 3 ten page papers. everyone gets over a B.
Class is BORING!!! If you go the only way to get anything is to sit front row, right in front of her. She is very old and cannot speak up. 1 in class test, 1 14 page paper, and final is a 10 page paper. You can get an easy A, but you will have to spend a lot of time writing. Nice lady though.
this woman was brilliant. she loved students, she loved teaching, she loved philosophy. i think she added a lot to this university and only wish she could have stuck around for my entire semester with her.
