She is cool and easy, well i already know Spanish.

Prof. Castro takes all of her students under her wing like her own kids. She even brings baked goods to class for them to eat. She doesn't really expect her students to be fluent, but she does expect them to try their hardest. She realizes that most students are there for the language requirement. Nice potluck at the end of the semester too.

Prof. Castro is adorable with her big glasses. She is such a sweet teacher and she is very helpful. Her class is fun and she makes learning Spanish as simple as she can.

She is extremely considerate and the best for foreign languages anywhere in the West coast of the US. Moreover, she is a very good looking lady with true legitimate values and professionalism. One of the best professors I have ever had. She does not just care about teaching you spanish, she cares about you as a person as well. She's funny, easy-going, intelligent and very social. She loves to have fun while learning which makes her a must-take for your spanish requirements. Just study exactly what she tells you and you'll have a blast.

I had this profesora for two classes and she is one of my favorites. She is very good and loves what does. She makes a point to learn everyone's name and tries to make it fun despite the outdated materials and books. Show a lot of effort and some interest and you'll do well!

Profe Castro is freaking awesome. Her learning and teaching strategies are so unique! Not only does she want you to pass but also put you on the right track onto being a better person! I love her to death. One of the best classes I've took ever! Homework is fair and easy and quizzes and tests are cake as long as you study!

Being a Spanish major, it was vital for me to take as many Spanish classes before transferring. I have taken Spanish 120, 130, and 140 with Professor Castro, and I must say that she is by far the best Spanish teacher you could ever have. She is dedicated, knowledgeable, kind, funny, and her love for Spanish is contagious.

Excellent Professor!!!! Hopefully they will keep the upper division Spanish courses, because everyone should have the opportunity to take as many classes with Professor Castro as possible. Learning Spanish will increase your potential in the work force, and enhance your love for cultures. Do not limit your opportunities by not learning Spanish!

Prof. Castro is the best professor there is. She loves what she does and helps the students constantly. I had difficulties at first and now I do very well based on all of the guidance she gave me. She understands about languages and know how to work very professionally. I highly recommend her to any student who wants or needs to take Spanish!

She is so sweet and funny, as well as caring. There's a combination of oral (every Fri.) and written tests (written test at the end of every unit) usually every Fri. But they are easy since she does an exact test review on Thurs. Beware though she does subtract points off of every mistake even if it's just an accent mark. No more than 10 absences.

Professor Castro made learning Spanish fun and interesting, linking vocabulary to real life anecdotes that made class feel more personal. She also made it very clear that she would be available outside of class, and would give the class a heads up to when she is unavailable forn after class hours.

Profe is such an amazing professor! Extremely smart, witty and funny. Participation is mandatory by always a joy because of Prof. Castros personal touch and fun discussion. You wont regret taking her class, even if its though its daily, it becomes routine and you get 10 absences before your grade goes down!

Luciana is the best Spanish teacher Ive had for the reasons that her lectures are so fun & intresting. Her personality and humor is on point , I def recommend taking her class if you want to write better in Spanish & have fun at the same time ! Shes not a hard grader as long as you complete are your work.

Professora Castro enjoyed teaching us and was a reasonable grader. She gave homework that you needed to turn in to class but if you forgot to turn it she always gave you extra time. She gave all the questions to the tests the day before on Canvas which made it easy to prepare yourself. Excellent professor would take again!

I just finished her spanish class this semester and I loved it, she was so helpful and we truly became close. I was one of those students that overly stressed and she helped me every step of the way. Amazing professor and very understanding. Had personal issues throughout the semester but she was very understanding and worked with me. Ended up with an A+ and the end of the semester! There is a test almost every week so be ready!

I was blessed to have Profesora Castro in my first semester at Skyline 2 years ago in the fall. She gave us quizzes in the middle part of the semester every week so make sure you study. She also shares some interesting and funny anecdotes, is good at clarification, engaged us, does MySpanishLab as well as oral presentations which aren't too hard.

An amazing professor you can tell she cares about her students with how enthusiastic she comes into class! You do need the book because we do everything from there so homework, classwork, & projects will be based here. Lots of group work and chances to develop your Spanish with classmates. Not a lot of tests but she does do at least 2 presentations

I really loved taking her class. I took spanish 110 over the summer of 2020 and she was awesome . I already know decent spanish so this class wasn't hard/ new for me but it went very fast paced because the summers go very quickly. She was easy to talk to and made spanish enjoyable to learn.

Professor Castro poured her heart and soul into our class. Keeping 20-25 students actively engaged in a zoom language class that lasts for 2 hours is an amazing feat. Students had many different levels of listening and speaking skills and she was always so inclusive to everyone. She is a great professor!

Professor Castro is wonderful and I had a great time taking her summer course. She grades on time and gives good feedback. She is also willing to help anytime if you need it. The one down side is her organization on Canvas can be confusing at first. As long as you attend the Zooms, she will explain what to do every week, instead of relying on Canva

Professor Castro is a great professor. She is really lenient with her grades and makes passing really easy. There are about 2-3 one-minute presentations that we have which are not hard at all. I would really recommend her. Gracias!

Profe Castro is very patient, funny, and dynamic. I had to miss several days of class, but she accommodated me in class and gave me an opportunity for extra credit. She was very open to questions and went at a comfortable pace. I personally would have preferred a little faster course though. She is also a fairly slow grader.

Took 3 sems with Profe between 2017 and 2021. She builds a community in her classes that made me look forward to our sessions each week. With a language class you really have to put in the effort to memorize in order to succeed. Would love to take a class with her again someday! It was honestly like therapy with a potluck at the end!

This was the best teacher I have ever had. Something about the way she structures her assignments and the data you study, it's not in the traditional order and it finally clicked for me. Her tests were easy and open book; no proctor; just like the homework. She is very fair!

Luciana Castro is exactly someone you would want as a language teacher. She doesn't care if you get questions right or wrong and simply appreciates whenever anyone tries. For oral quizzes, you listen to her sentences, write answers down, then submit on Canvas. Finals are 2 minute presentations on any topic, with 3 questions from fellow classmates.

I took Spanish 2A and 2B with her, Luciana is a great professor, very caring and flexible. The material and homework are not heavy at all. I took her online class and participation does count though so be ready to be picked for an assignment anytime, but it's always nice and you end up having fun and laughing a lot in her class.

She was so chill, she allowed late work for up to 3 days, which is so nice. She calls you out in your writing your mistakes, which is great. The homework she gives us its a good balance between not a lot and not too little.
