Nice person, but sometimes can get a bit boring, and for some reason, every day we look at pictures of 'nude' people. Some of her material is a bit questionable, but she does not mean any harm by it. Easy to talk to and get along with.

Nice person, but the work load varies so much. For much of the semester, there was nothing more to the class than attending. Right at the end of the semester, she packed on several things and gave us some insane deadlines. Class is semi-interesting.
I was enrolled in her art 2 class a few semesters ago, I really enjoyed it, her lectures were always full of interesting information.

The class in general wasn't that interesting, but she was hot. Also, she showed lots of kuma sutra so, that's always a plus.
She is one of the best teachers I've ever had. She is very interesting and recognizes the needs of her students. The tests are easy if you know how to write and memorize things. She emphasizes learning. I didn't like art at all and now I love it.
Alamillo is a great professor, very helpful, and importantly she explains very clear. Her class is very interesting because she helps you see art from a different perspective. Is easy to get an "A" in this class if the student is willing to pay
She is an awesome teacher & the calss is interesting & i'm not into art. There are a couple of papers to write but they are easy and the longest one is 3 pages.Sometimes the lectures can be long but she is hot so it makes up for it. AWESOME TEACHER!!
She's very nice and she does a great job of making things interesting. She does have a few big projects, but if you really get started on time, they're no big deal. Great teacher and very fun!
too many homeworks
She is soooo nice and a really good teacher. She has a lot of papers but she is an easy grader. She makes the course really interesting. Get an early start and don't put things till the end and you will be fine.
number one, this class is very easy. number two, this teacher is very easy. if you can take good notes and memorize pictures, you'll do great. if youre gonna take art2, take it from me and take her. you wont regret it

she is the worst teacher ever! first of all she favors her hispanic students and always talks to them in spanish. test every week and lots of assignments .take my word, DONT TAKE THIS CLASS. please save yourself from the misery!
she assign lots of work. the class kindda hard but she is nice and funny.

In this class you can really learn a lot about art in a stress fress environment. The exams are not too difficult as long as you pay attention in class and keep up with the reading.
She's very articulate in the class lecture and her exams are fair enough, but she seems to be flaky. She gives no specifics on her grading scale for essays, she starts class 10 minutes(set-up time) after official time, and already she's been absent for 5+ class meets! (there's only 32 class meets!)
She's hard and assigns alot of work like going to museums. She's extremely prejudice. She likes to help her own kind. Don't let her demeanor fool you - she's a fake!
Extremely easy; if you can write you can pass. Test are horrendously easy. Lucy is an amazing lecturer and oh so friggin' hot! Had lesbian fantasies all through class and I'm straight. She's that good.
Very easy class as long as you take notes and not fall asleep. the tests are easy and the papers aren't that long and she grades fairly
Ms. Alamillo is professional and a fair instructor to all her students. I didn't find her to be prejudice or bias in any manner. She's made me develop and interest for art. Yes, she was absent 5 times, but that was because of a death in the family. I'm now a UCLA student!
shes a very intelligent woman...and beautifull too
She was very cool and really knows her material. Quizes/tests are slide ids and multiple choice. No lab req. Few really easy essays. Not a hard grader. Bad thing is that she's not on top of returning tests/quizzes. She lost ours before she could grade them. never got my last paper. Class is fun/easy
Great teacher, great class discussions, very little homework (which was easy), plus great eye candy! ;) Enjoyed the class and I would take anyother class with her just to look at her again. :)

She makes you go to museums and make you write essays, ugh! She thinks she knows what she's lecturing about. When you ask her a question she doesn't know, she's dumbfounded. She's not all that hot either. Mannen in Antro is hotter!
can you imagine...she makes us go to museums!! i can';t believe those were complaints...wonder what they'll think of teachers that give out...dare i say? TESTS??? oh no!! this teacher was great and like any good teacher she challanged us all the while teaching us...it's ashamed that some people st
I was bored in this class because Prehistoric art to the Gothic period is not as interesting as the Art 3 that I took with Ms. Connie Fitzsimons. Lucy is a good teacher, but it would have been so much better if she has gave the class points for discussions rather than just ramble on lecturing.
I have a hard time on tests in any class. However i did well in her class because she tells you EXACTLY what will be on her tests. So I know EXACTLY what to memorize, no surprises! I took her in the summer and thought she was great. She was soo organized.

A great teacher that knows what she's talking about. Encourages you to make your own opinion about the artwork instead of just spewing out textbook interpretations. Does make you write about 3 or 4 papers but most are just 1 or 2 pages and VERY easy to write Tests are pretty easy as well as long as you memorize the slides and pay attention in class
Pretty easy class if you pay attention. She pretty much tells you everything that's going to be on the test. She usually responds well to questions. She gets bonus points for being hot.
Great professor. She is one of the most down to earth staff at ElCo. She is so approachable. She gives good lectures and adds humor to them. You can't go wrong by taking her. But one thing, you better be decent at writing short essays; if not you're going to dread her tests. Otherwise her class is a blast!
She was a great teacher. I had her in an FYE class and it was so much fun. She really pushes you to work and try your hardest and she expects a lot out of you. She is more than willing to help you out if you approach her.
Very Professional. She was born to teach art. She is so nice because she let me add her class when it was too late so I was nice back and got an A, but boy did I have to catch up. She grades easy on the essays. Her tests are identification, multiple choice, and 2 essays GOOD GOD! She loves to be corny and make us laugh. Thanks Lucy!
She is Awesome! !! ! !
This was a very easy class. She is a nice teacher. The work and homework is very easy. I took this class in the summer.
She was such a fun teacher. she does talk a lot and absent only one time, and she almost never let us out early. but other than that, she cool. i would take her class again.
great teacher. takes every class to the point and makes every lesson fun. the only thing that sucked were the dim lighted projector lessons, kinda got sleepy on them but she's great.
she is freakin hot!! she always explaind everything good and in detail. she always wanted to help you lear the matieral

ain't all that!
This course is decievingly hard! She Seems nice and helpful but if you aren't an art mayor then you're pretty much screwed!
VERY demanding. VERY difficult tests. More than half the class flunked the first test. Grade based on 4 exams and a 15 minute presentation/research project that she told us about towards the end of the semester. STAY AWAY !!!
she is awesome there are assignments but she makes them very interesting aswell as her class lectures, because she knows what she is talking about and makes it more enjoyable. you will receive what u give
she is so far the best teacher at el camino. she is willing to help you in whatever she can. to her there is no right or wrong answer. she's young and can identify with her students.the tests are easy just study. hardly any homework and gives extra credit at the end of the sem.
I liked her alot. the class was difficult, but as long as you study everything, you'll do fine. She tells the class exactly whats going to be on the test and gives a month to do each essay. Class was interesting and she really wanted to make everyone undertsand the topics.
She really knows her stuff. The class is kind of esoteric if your not an art major but she totally breaks it down for you. She drops the lowest exam, and is very opened minded when she grades exams which consist of short essay questions. Take good notes, read the pages she assigns and you should be okay. Helps to be a good writer in this class!
She is the Hottest Instructor at El Camino. Her class is very interesting. Class assignments are easy and if you take notes you will do fine in the exams.
Ugh! BORING! At least i found a class to sleep in. expect to go to a museum(s) - it was an all day event - and write about it.
took her for winter session 06 and was always bored. im not one to be all that interested in art, and she didnt really help me along. she is an easy grader and an easily understood, very easy to get along with and be around person, but her tests go way beyond the study guide she gives out and shes not that good at explaining what she really wants
Took for the winter. Encourages you voice your opinion. May seem ambiguous on assingments but she's only leaving room for individuality. HIGHLY recommended.
She is great. If you have a question, she will more than happy to answer it. Take her classes in Winter or Summer.
She was great! Took her class during winter 06. She loves to hear everyones opinion. Very outgoing and she makes the class very interesting and fun.
Super fun and involved. Very articulate and passionate about the subject at hand. Easy going, understanding, and cool. Tests aren't too difficult, Papers are a little challenging but she's always happy to help!
EXCELLENT TEACHER! VERY CLEAR AND SPECIFIC. JUST PAY CLOSE ATTENTION,TAKE NOTES ON WHAT SHE SAYS.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Had her for winter 05. She is very clear, and makes interesting discussions. She shows slides too. Overall a great teacher to really learn from.
She is absolutely one of my favorite professors i've ever had. She is full of energy, totally fun and its actually fun to learn. Easy tests, only hard part is memorization of dates.
I took her class long time ago. I think I did ok.
Great teacher. This class is a hands on class, shes interested in what WE think about art. The plus side of being in this class is that she is young and can relate to her students. She is also very funny.
One of my favorite teachers. Very nice and very helpful. Made the subject interesting and now I am an art history major!
this class was very boring. lectures everyday. tests are in essaY FORM.
This class was really easy! She explains the subject really well. Tests are easy. We had to write a few essay. Easy grader. The only think i hate was the presentation we had to do. Overall, very interesting class....and ez "A"
she is very energetic and fun while lecturing. keeps classes interesting and open for discussion.
She all right. The lectures are interesting. Tests are easy... Nice lay-back class. But. Be there for the POSTER project, i wasnt there, and i had to do it ALONE :( when everyone else did it in groups of 4-5...
SHE'S THE BEST ART HISTORY TEACHER IVE EVER HAD. I STILL WATCH THE HISTORY CHANNEL AND NGC EVERYDAY BECAUSE OF HER. -HANSON
Professor Alamillo is a great at her field plus she is smart and pretty. Her class is interesting; I did pretty well in the class, by taking notes on every art piece that was presented and by memorizing key points. Her tests are based on this and if you pay attention you’ll do well; plus she is approachable and helpful
Very unhelpful. Unfair grader. I worked my tail off in this class. Don't take Alamillo! Very unprepared. Doesn't show up. Bad usage of class time. Take someone else!
Whatever you do in this beep's class do not say the word chick when referencing a female. She will go off on you like there's no tommorow. She is the most unorganized professor I've had at El Camino College. She will not return any of your papers or let you know what your grade is on any of your papers till the following semester.
She is extremely helpful and nice. I took her class last spring and got an A. Well but you need to do ur assignments.
This class was easy. Just study the stuff on the study guide and you're good to go.
She is a very very nice understanding woman. Just go to class and participate when she asks questions and in class discussions. No answer is wrong to her, she just likes hearing your opinion. I thought it was a really easy class. Doesn't make you memorize dates or artists of artworks. There was only one test, one 4 page essay and not even a final!
great students in my class got a B from her when all the work they did was A material. She gave up on the class very easily. For someone who half-assed the class, she graded really strict. pretty unfair, if you ask most of her Art5A students. Don't take her class unless you can handle disorganization. But if you just want an easy B enter with risk.
She is a good professor in her field. I love Art so it's not hard to get an A with me at all. But I've done works, assignments and memorized all the info from notes and outlines she gave. Seriously, she's kinda unfair which you can tell easily. I was really afraid of her in grading
Nice lady, class is easy just pay attention. Only catch is...its ridiculously boring. What she lectures in an hour and a half could be said in 10 mins. It will frustrate you but lets face it, your taking this class for a free A and a general education (IGETC) requirement.
Boring. Simplistic. Take this class if you really don't care about learning the material in depth. Easy for people that aren't art majors. If it is your major, take another professor, it'll disappoint and frustrate you.
AWESOME!!!
She seems very knowleadgeble. She's a little disorganized but a very good teacher overall. Just take notes, pay attention, very easy test, no need to read the book, a few essays which are all pretty crystal clear. If you just want an easy A, you found it.
Really knows about what she is teaching. Is a little disorganized sometimes. Exams are easy if you study her study guides. Take good notes during her lectures as they will help A LOT.
She is very subjective and disorganized. She dismissed class too often. She often used inappropriate usage in class. She didn't treat all the students fairly.
Unorganized teacher. make sure you take good notes. kind of unfair bc waited until after drop date to give 1st test, which people didnt do so well on. grade depended on 2 in-class tests and 1 take-home essay. there was a research project too. you can pretty much bs whatever bc art is about opinion. just make sure you can support it with more bs
She was never prepared for class, which caused the ist test to be pushed back until after the drop date. there was only 2 in class test and a take home essay. Just give your good opinion on any sort of art form and youll get a good grade on the essay. I did'nt come out enjoying this class anymore than i did going in
Pretty easy teacher. Her lectures are interesting, which give for good in-class discussions. Exams aren't that hard, if you study what's on the study guide and take really good lecture notes you'll do excellent in the class. HW assignments were interesting as well and aren't difficult! I enjoyed her class a lot.
love her. best art history teacher. i would have loved to take her again. you learn so much form her lectures. so interesting and her tests are easy, but you do have to study! thank you ms alamillo.
What she teaches is extremely interesting (cross cultural art) and I am far from an art person. Although the material was interesting, I could barely stay awake through any of her lectures. Papers are really hard and confusing, didn't exactly get how they related to anything we learned in class.
Unclear, hard, more like a critical thinking english class than an art history class. Wouldn't recommend her art 6 honors class.
Extremely good professor. she is very clear, fun, and interesting. her exams are not hard if you study at least a day before. there is memorization involve in her class. over all easy professor. easy A.
This class was hard and requires upper division critical thinking skills. Not your typical class with a lot of structure, but definitely interesting and insighful. I learned a lot about art and got to listen to other people's perspectives. She's a really interesting professor and is very passionate about the arts. Recommended!
Wow! I've never had an honors teach take over a week to post grades. She could be a lot more organized and considerate of student who are transfering and need to send out there official transcripts and IGETC certification, but no. She still hasn't posted grades which is ridiculous!!!
Never returns papers/tests/etc so you have no idea what your grade is all semester, then she still hasn't posted grades and she's the only one. Scatterbrained - shows up late for class, but then demands perfect attendance and not leaving early....also, she gives you a busy work project between finals and the last paper you turn in
She isn't a bad teacher, but she likes to give out assignments and never return them so it's hard to tell what your final grade will be. Don't buy the book. It's a waste of money. Make sure to do all the assignments otherwise you probably won't be getting an A in her class. Oh and don't text in her class. She hates when students do that...
easy A! she is so kind and all you have to do for tests is remember the dates titles and pictures. she is really sweet and is pretty lenient on the essay part of the exam. DON'T BUY THE BOOK! its a waste of your money...just take notes and pay attention in class.
I love her. She makes the class interesting and I even got sad when I was absent because I missed out on interesting stuff. Attending class is important because you miss material that will be on the test. Everything that was on the test was explained clearly in class. The class was pretty easy. Show up. Take notes. Don't need the book.
Mrs. Alamillo was probably one of the best teachers I took at El Co. She always expected the best from students and because of that you had to actually try and act like a college student, which sometimes bugs students, but hey why go to school if your not in it to learn? I really respected her for believing in the education of her students.
I didn't like her class! She talks so fast and never give u a time to write your note! She is very late in terms of giving ur test result back and her test are very difficult. If u have a time to read 500 pages Art book by urself, go for it!
Great discussion class. Super interesting Topics. She covers a lot of information in one semester you don't reeeeally need the book. Makes friends and talk and you'll get an A. PS don't ever leave in the middle of when she's talking or text in class you'll put you on blast for sure. so have some respect. Lucy's the best art history teacher EVER
She is one of the few professors that make El Camino great! Her art history class helps you see the world in a new perspective and better yet, her class was cake. You don't even need any of the textbooks(especially the books on how to write art history essays).Just pay attention and take notes accordingly.
She is a very good teacher, and really knows her information. she teaches with energy, and gives you very good descriptions and concepts on the art we go over in the class. Her tests are easy as long as you know your terms and concepts, and identify art pieces. I highly recommend her, you will learns something for sure
Chill class. Easy A. Ask for help if you need it. She will sit with you for as long as you need em.
She was my first professor at ElCo and she truly was an amazing professor. She teaches with so much energy and love for the subject that I even began to enjoy it more, and I hate history! Her tests are pretty easy if you pay attention to what she emphasizes in class and study the artwork. I gained a real appreciation for art after taking this class
She was an interesting teacher, but I did not enjoy this class. It is mandatory that you go to class. And her test are worded weird. If your a good studier than go for it.
LOVED HER! she is really interesting, clear and easy. The class was an easy A but her lectures were pretty interesting and we had discussions and actually learned history well. Totally recommend her; she KNOWS what she talks about. One of the best speakers I have ever seen actually.
SUPER HOT, super intellectual, really cool class.
really good teacher, she doesn't just read off the power point, she ELBORATES. I love the way she explains things. memorize images, take good notes, read the book. DON'T MISS CLASS. The only thing I didn't like is that she lets students go in/out during testing and I feel as though those students are cheating via their cellphones.
I'm not really that into art, but Ms. Alamillo made it interesting. She really loves the material she teaches and she's always upbeat during class. Her tests are 100% straight from the lectures, so if you take good notes and study them, you don't even need to open the book. She's a good teacher, an easy A, and nice to look at, so take her!
I hated Art then I took Ms. A's Art class and absolutely fell in love with it. She is an awesome teacher. Her class is really interesting and pretty easy. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK, totally useless. As long as you turn in all your work and study before her test her class is really easy. I always recommend her class to my friends.
Loved this class! She's eloquent and presents the material in a way that makes it interesting (for those that don't find it that interesting to begin with). She's super helpful and her class is by far the easiest class I've ever taken.
took her for two art classes. art 2 and i think art 4a. Got an A in both. She is great! She knows her stuff!
She is by far the BEST arts teacher I've had. She is nice, silly and makes her classes very interesting....social q for learning. SHE'S AWESOME
I am currently taking Professor Alamillo. She has the most impeccable command of words. I have yet to hear her stumble. She may seem really strict in the beginning, but she's super chill. I just love going to her class because not only do I learn more about Art history, but how to speak eloquently. Love her!
really nice teacher, if u think the test is too hard, talk to her, but u do need to put effort in order to get an A
Very nice lady. She lectures the whole time. Some days are interesting but majority are boring. Attendance is mandatory. Not that bad for an Honors class. 5 Journals, a few quizzes, 3 test, 1 research assignment. Participation not mandatory but it helps you remember things. Only 5 points extra credit. Very helpful. Lets u eat/drink in class
At first I was reluctant to take an Art class since my major is fall from it. It was not only art but also history so I had low expectation coming in. This class blew my mind. I was so intrigued and showed up for every class time. Her tests are a bit hard because I didn't study but if you do it's a breeze. Also no textbook required. DON'T NEED IT.
I appreciate this teachers knowledge. She is nothing but helpful, and encouraging. Wonderful teacher!
Not my favorite class. It was uninteresting & there are weird vibes in the classroom. Sure she knows her stuff, I hope MOST teachers do but that doesn't make her a good teacher in my opinion. She is very unclear with EVERYTHING, especially the papers. I've taken a few art history classes before & I've enjoyed it the least in her class.
Over time class lost appeal and teacher was always absent. I recommend to take but I wish I had taken someone else. Her instractures were not always clear yet she real helpful and knows art.
Do not buy the book . You won't use it. The lectures are boring. She was absent a lot especially in the middle of the semester. Her class is pretty easy. We took 2 test scantron and written portion. The written part was simple. She gave us about four papers . There is also a project but we didn't do it. Do to her being absent a lot
This class is by far the easiest class I've ever taken. Sure the class can be incredibly boring most of the time, but the important thing is to understand the lecture to do well on midterm and final exams. Exams contains a multiple choice portion (which is easy) and an essay portion (which is also easy).
If you pay attention & write down the art's name, year & the info. that she tells you about the object, then you should have no problems with getting a good grade. 3 Exams, 100 pts apiece (really its easy peasy if you paid attention in class) a 100 pt museum paper ( like the exam really, again easy) 15 pt EXTRA CREDIT QUIZ. again easy class.
Professor Alamillo was very lenient on the due dates of when assignments must be turned in. Although there were recommended due dates, she gives you the entire semester to finish all of the work. Make sure not to fall behind as it is a lot of work overtime. Two essays, some quizzes, discussions, and a good amount of extra credit. Enriching class.
I took the online Art History class. It was nice because she did not have due dates so you could turn everything in the last week if you wanted. But don't to that. Stay on top of the work and this class is an easy A. I didn't have a text book and kinda wished I had one but I got an A without one.
Professor Alamillo is a great professor. Art history is a boring subject but she at least makes it interesting. 3 tests 1 museum paper. Write down name, culture and analysis for memory images and ull do fine. She's so beautiful and her words are like poetry. I love you Professor alamillo! But forreal, take the class, you won't regret it.
Everything is due at the end of the semester, so it's ultimately up to you to decide when you want to complete an assignment. The quizzes are fairly easy; I never studied for them because the answers are in the modules that she doesn't close out. If you are not satisfied with your quiz grade, you can always retake a second time. "Tests" are essays.
Very kind and lenient professor. Her tests usually consisted of fill in the blank, short answers, and an essay portion. There is also a final paper where you go to a museum and write on an art piece. Overall, class was easy, professor was very caring about your success in the class.
The lectures seemed long but I'm not one for art. She made the class fun here and there, has a good sense of humor. If she assigns something don't lag it! Ask for help and make sure to study those notes as you go! They will save your life on those Tests. I rented the textbook but honestly, I opened it once. She goes over everything pretty well.
I took the online class. You have to take these online quizzes which you should do well in as long as you go back and look at the text for each question. 2 Essays but the prompts seemed complicated to me, doesn't seem like to tough of a grader on them tho. Best part of this class is there is no deadlines so you can work at your own pace.
I didn't really like art so I thought the class was boring but it was also pretty straightforward. You had 2 exams, 1 final exam, 1 homework assignment, and a museum research paper. I really thought I was going to fail the class but I ended up getting a B. The tests are just multiple choice, identification, and writing an essay.
I love Alamillo. Easily became my favorite class! She's super nice and also a fair grader. She's so APPROACHABLE if you need help, and genuinely does care about her students' success. Her passion for the subject is infectious, and inspired me to work hard. MEMORIZE all the artworks, PAY ATTENTION & take GOOD NOTES, and you will be golden.
She is amaaaaaaazing. Loved her. She's so cool and interesting. Helped me look over my tests and told me how to improve. Her class is interesting, the subject of art history is super cool and Im not even into art. She's cool, her class is work but its easy if you have study buddies. She's so dope. I loved her. Take her can't recommend enough.
Loved her class! Lucy's passion for art really makes the class interesting. She is helpful if you need her, so don't be afraid to ask questions! She appreciates student input in her lectures. Just take good notes in class, attend her lectures (and pay attention), and use the study guide for tests (she sticks to it!).
Tests were really hard for me, and I showed to every class and even studied. I drew all the pictures that she gave to us. Study really hard if you want to pass the tests... they have memory images and an essay.
Study Study Study , test are hard and from memory
She's a great teacher. If you pay attention and take good notes during the lectures, then you don't really need to read the book that much. Her study guide clearly tells you what should be expected on the test, so if you study it then you'll pass for sure. Make sure to do the online quizzes. Her office hours are very helpful for advice on the essay
She is very kind. Always has time for her students. If you attend classes and take notes, you will pass. Doing the flash cards helped me memorize a lot of the info on the art pieces you will be tested on.
Her online course is pretty easy to pass, but BEWARE that you are REQUIRED to purchase an online textbook that can cost up to $90. You take quizzes through there, so if you don't have the extra cash to buy an online book, then I'd avoid this professor for online courses. Otherwise the course is nice, good for long distance/working students. :)
She is an awesome person through and through. However, I found this class to be so boring and I feel bad about it! I love art but these periods in history fell short for me. She is funny, very smart, realllly wants you to "get it", and is generous. She cares for sure. Take her if you like art history or need the credit.
Are you design major? Take Alamillo for 102A. Are you majoring in anything and planning to transfer? Take her class to fill your needed requirement. Alamillo offers us a series of highly engaging lectures on art history throughout the ancient world forward. She is a true gift to the educational system in LA. And she's stylish, outfit inspo ya'll
Professor Alamillo is great at what she does. She truly cares about what she teaches. If you give it your hardest you will be fine.
You can really tell that Professor Alamillo cares not only about what she teaches but also about her students. She gives enough feedback and proper study guides for the quizzes that you're prepared. Even though the material may be boring, she teaches it in a way for you to stay interested.
The first online class I've taken and was very happy with it. She is pretty easy going and explains everything thoroughly. She wants you to pass, just do the work.
3 exams, 2 essays, a couple discussion posts, and LOTS of note taking. The book wasn't mandatory for my semester. I never used the book, just used my notes. She's very energetic, caring, and exciting especially in the morning. The only complaint about this class is you don't know what your grade is till the end of the semester.
One of the best professors I've ever had. Take honors if you don't like quizzes. She really gets the class involved so it's hard to get bored in her class. She's super friendly and willing to work with her students. The hardest part is the memorization of names and dates but if you get flashcards it'll be easy. Her lectures were an experience.
Loved her! Alot of taking notes. She is passionate about her lectures. To do: mainly homework, 1 museum visit, midterm essay, and final essay.
I took her class in Spring'17, she was my first college professor and I'm absolutely loved the class. She gave multiple extra credit opportunities, 3 exams. It's an easy A if you prepare for the exams and take notes. Two essays but not a tough grader. Doesn't use textbook much, don't buy it. Show up to lectures. She's extremely friendly and fun.
Such an easy online class. I recommend everyone to take this at some point!
I took this class because I needed an easy honors class. Worst decision I ever made in my life. You sit in class & she lectures the whole time. No writing or notes just sit there and listen. We took one test and had an essay due at the end. I got a 89.6 and she gave me a B in the class even though I did everything she asked for. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!
I took Alamillo for Honors Art History during the summer. TAKE HER! She is hilarious and super nice. We had one museum visit essay, two tests, and one final project (easy). Alamillo focuses more on discussing the art, and she understands that a lot of the information is short-term so she's not strict. Listening to her talk is so fun and easy!
Ridiculously easy as long as you attend class and take notes. She's passionate about art as well and encourages students to think through questions she asks during lecture.
Definitely is passionate but can sometimes go on and on about one thing, especially if students aren't contributing to the discussion. Only test was the midterm and it was easy. Downside is she's slow on replying to emails and did not grade anything on canvas so no one knew their grade until the final grade came out.
She is so unorganized there was no exam dates or homework on the syllabus. Luctures are so boring PowerPoint everyday. You cant see your grades until the end. She gives random homework in class and online assignments on canvas. Also bunch of museum visits. Attendance is non mandatory but you will loose pionts
Professor Alamillo is super passionate about the subject she teaches. Tests were fair, but there were a few questions on minor details she'd skim over in class. (Read the textbook too for an A!) The only negative is the lack of organization within the class, otherwise the class wasn't too hard. Honors has a longer essay and museum write up.
Took this course online over Summer thinking it would be a breeze since all of the ratings were good and "easy." I learned the hard way that this was NOT an easy course. You must read the online textbook (free) carefully for the Quizzes. The essay prompts were confusing, but doable. Not a difficult class overall, but you MUST put in work.
Worst professor that I had ever taken here. She tells you that all ideas are equal and no one should be ashamed of their opinions yet criticizes you harshly for your comments? Strange. Also, a lot of the things she says are going to be on the test, aren't.
Professor Alamillo's class isn't the most interesting, to be honest, but it was one of the easiest classes I've taken this past Spring. Not a lot of homework and she split people into groups to work sometimes. Just do good on her couple of tests and final essay and you should pass. Not as hard as it sounds. She is an easy grader.
She is clear on what is expected of you and when things are due. Is understandable and doesn't rush for work to be done and gives enough time to do the work. Free online textbook. Essays are prompted and don't take long to do as long as you have done the reading. Able to take the quizzes 2 times. Would definitely take her again.
This was my first online course, and I highly recommend it! You learn a lot, and the work is very manageable. Professor Alamillo wants you to pass, and she is always willing to help.
Professor Alamillo is great! She makes sure you pass the class and even gives you a link for a free pdf version of the textbook!
Professor Alamillo is a really caring and kind professor. I took her honors class and she gives a moderate amount of work, but will go out of her way to help students get the best grade possible. She is very approachable too! Her textbook is a pdf download which she gives you for free which is really cool. Definitely take her class.
Best professor! Cant emphasize how caring she can be for her students. Took her in the spring and was very inspirational to the class.
She is a very nice and understanding professor. The class is really easy to pass the work is not difficult at all. She accepts late work.
Lucy Alamillo but she's your ideal teacher in Art! I would take her again If I could. She inspires me and most importantly is she makes her lecture very interesting and ENGAGING! I felt very connected during the semester, although summer class should've been hard, in her class it was easy. She would do anything to help you out. Take her!!!!!!
I took prof. A this summer and let me just say WOW.... I wasn't really into art history, but her assignments and lectures truly allow you to become more engaged in the subject. There were a few quizzes every week and interactive videos assigned. Very manageable!!! She is extremely caring, provides help at all times, and is great with communication.
Alamillo is amazing! She encourages personal growth and gets students to think deeply about art history. Be engaged you'll do well in the class. Lots of information covered and we didn't get to the last 4 units because the final project took priority. Still I'd highly recommend her if you're looking to learn and get an A. Free online textbook.
Awesome Professor. Super nice and caring. didn't give us any work after spring break so that we could focus on midterms. gave a month to do the final project and gave tons of good feedback. Light grader and has interesting lectures and class activities. She said she gave her honors class less work overall so I'd recommend the honors one.
Professor Alamillo is amazing - super caring and engaging. She makes art history fun with interesting lectures and activities. Light grading, no busy work, and a helpful free textbook. Definitely take the honors section if you can. Unstuck AI was a lifesaver for study prep.
