Great teacher. Just goto class and pay attention, A+ no problem. Says you need to know lots of stuff for the tests, but mostly whatever is said in class is what you will need to know. Very eager to teach and answer any questions. One of the best teachers at VC.

Best professor ever. Made me want to go to class. One research paper, 5 or 6 tests. Lots of opportunities for extra credit. Expands your knowledge and tolerance of other people. She has firsthand experience with psychology.

Mrs.Capuano is one of my favorite teachers ever! Her class was so interesting! She is very knowledgeable, and friendly. I think every person that goes to Ventura College should take one her psch. classes! I really learned so much in that class. oh!-word to the wise...dont be late to her class! :)

It seemed like she wanted to be harder then she really was. But she was a good teacher and I did learn a lot. I like that she amkes it easy to get an A if you are willing to go to class, participate and learn.

what can i say? lucy is hella bomb! her tests are easy only if you go to all the lectures and read the book. there is never a dull moment in class. YOU basically dictate how smoothly the class will go. she's very BIG on class participation so don't be affraid to speak up. i would definitely take another class from her again. 2 thumbs up!!!

She was a great teacher who made every class go by quick. She had really interesting material and a very outgoing personality. I definately recommend her for anyone who needs a psych class or just to learn about human behavior more. Tests are easy if you study from the study guides. She was a great teacher and I would take her class again.

one of the most wonderful women i have ever meet. smart, funny, fair. class requires work and study for each test. 1 project, turned in early gives ex. credit, attendance big=points. together, pushed me from B to A.

This is the most interesting class you will ever take. Try taking it with a couple of freinds or with your girlfreind or boyfreind. I took it with my girlfreind and we loved it. The test where not to difficult however she is strict on test so you better study because there is lots of information to learn.

Lucy is a great teacher. You have to study but anyone who attends class and studies can easily get an A in her class. She has a paper you have to write and if you turn it in early, you get an extra 20 points - wow - easy to get an A if you care to try

I was initially wary of taking this class; Developmental Psych was one of a few possible pre-reqs for my major. I would up being suprised by how much this prof. loves the subject and was affected by her enthusiasm for the course. I would highly recommend taking her! If you don't get an A in the class, you hav eno one to blame but yourself!

This Prof. just genuinely enjoys her subject. Expect to read the chapters assigned outside of class, while she will test you on them, she lectures on things mainly outside the text. She teaches for you to learn, not to pass the test, and gives ample opportunities for extra credit.

Lucy is an awesome teacher, you just need to go to class and watch the films, all of the info from films and lectures is on the test. She teaches by powerpoint, and that makes it really helpful for notetaking. You don't need the supplemental guide though, so save your money. Awesome teacher, gives TONS of extra credit.

Psy v01 was very easy. Just follow the packet instead of the book. Don't buy the book, is not needed. Everything on the exams is on the manual, and at the movies you see or slides she puts during class. Exams are easy common sense, but even if you don't agree on answers she won't give credit.

I have taken every single one of her classes and feel bummed that it's over. She's friendly, clear, easy-going, very helpful, and uses different ways of teaching (discussion, group work, videos, slides, overhead, handouts, etc). Gives enough extra credit and very relatable to personal issues. Provides a study guide which is cool too! ^_^*

If you want to learn she is a GREAT TEACHER, its not an easy A but worth the B shes wonderful and I would take another class with her.

awsome teacher she really care how your doing and is very helpful her test are a litte challenging but if you just show that your trying she will pass you with a good grade i wish there were more teachers like her!

human sexuality is definitely interesting, can drag at times, easy tests, reading not necessary

Highly recommended. Class (human sexuality) is very fun and always interesting. She really encourages and rewards participation and has a great sense of humor. Projects are different and tests aren't terribly hard. Attendence has always been one of my weaknesses but I never miss one of her classes. Very rewarding experience.

She is very Dedicated and passionate about the subject she teaches. She is colorful and makes class interesting. I really enjoyed taking this class with her.

As a person, she's pretty nice. As a teacher, she doesn't do too well. Her lectures are boring, her tests/papers are just sad, she tends to play favorites in her classes, she teaches all her classes the same way which sucks if you have more than one, and there is no challenge. If you want an easy class with little work, her classes would be 4 u.

Capuano-Brewer is the best! She is enthusiastic, Knowledgable, and very passionate about the material she is teaching. She explains the subject with such detail, and knowledge from her background as former psychologist, that learning is a breeze and fun.

I took Psy1 and Psy25 w/ Lucy. She is great! She is passionate about the subject and has a lot of experience in her field. She provides controversial information, which is interesting. She adds fun to the class w/ videos [not boring ones] and speakers. Multiple choice tests are easy if you pay attention in class. Never read the books, got As twice.

She is a great teacher. Will explain if you need it. Gives tons of extra credit, can bump up grades on tests! She has tons of experience with the subject. Loved the class. You will learn A LOT! if you want to start your psych major or still thinking about it, take her!!! you will find your answer by her.

i loved this class!!! shes an awesome teacher. notes are on powerpoint and were extremely helpful! tests were easy as long as you payed attention. i dont recommend missing class but a couple times wont kill you. shes a cool lady. you'll enjoy the class

Super easy teacher, and she's super nice. DON'T BUY THE BOOK! Everything (and I mean everything) comes from lecture. She's very opinionated, but she loves to have students share. Took a couple classes with her; all easy. Always DOWNLOAD THE PowerPts, and review them before tests.

Lucy is a WONDERFUL teacher. SO helpful. SO available. She truly cares about her students and what makes such a huge difference between her and some other teachers is that she LOVES her job. She wants to be there! She is making a difference in at VC. We love you Lucy!

Capuano is a very interesting teacher. It is easy to tell she loves what she does. She is definately a part of the solution =). Her tests do have some questions that are not discussed in class so go through the text book and power points!

I've had Lucy for several Psy classes, she's the BEST professor ever. She WANTS you to succeed, and will explain anything you do not understand over and over until it's understood. I didn't really use my book that much in either class, I just reviewed all powerpoints, participated in class-she gives lots of extra points, also NO texting!

don't use book or workbook like ever. tests are pretty easy. need to be in class on time. tests are on ppts. she's nice but very dramatic and liberal, so its fun to listen to.

My favorite teacher! Makes the class interesting even if you're not interested in the subject. No homework, only one essay, & gives a study guide before each test with all the questions. I would highly recommend her to anyone

She is an enthusiastic, smart, and caring teacher, and has a lot of experience. I took Psych 25 (Psych of Sexuality) and learned a lot. Some topics such as abuse are hard to get through if you are sensitive though. Don't take this class if you are immature or not serious about it. Lucy has no patience for rude, bigoted or close minded people.

Wonderful teacher, you will learn so much, no homework but you still learn A LOT! Fantastic, definitely taking a 3rd class with her, changed my major thanks to her. THANKS LUCY! See you next semester.

I would recommend Lucy to those of you who: Show up to class, are decent listeners, study for about 15 minutes before each test, and don't try and be rebellious. I really enjoyed the class, and learned alot! She IS opinionated, but who cares if she's not willing to hear your side!? You're there to learn, not share your opinion...

I love this class. It is my second class wih her. She is amazng. If you like to be involved, be on time, and listen, you will do well. A lot of material is covered, but as long as you study the powerpoints it will be fine.

Lucy is a fantastic professor! She's sometimes a bit unorganized, but is extremely knowledgeable. BE WARNED, THOUGH - she doesn't assign textbook readings, but she assumes you read each chapter she covers for the tests. But, tests really aren't that hard as long as you briefly look over the PowerPoints and book. Very little work other than tests.

Very knowledgeble on the subject and gets the whole class involved. Good Professor, must pay attention to powerpoints. I do recommend though.

Lucy Capuano is an amazing instructor. I highly recommend taking any of her classes, her class was the most interesting class I've ever taken at Ventura College. She knows her subject extremely well. Those who are late to class and like to be on their phones don't bother taking her.

I took both Psy V01 amd Psy VO5 with her during this semester and both classes were interesting and easy. One thing though DO NOT I repeat DO NOT buy her textbook!! Ev though it says manditory its a waste of money you NEVER use it!

She was a great teacher. She doesnt require a textbook. She posts the chapters online as powerpoints. But it is your job to print them out for each test. The tests are really easy, since they are multiple choice. She gives a study guide before each test. There is no homework except to read the material. She was a funny and an easy going professor.

She's really sweet and funny, however, she doesn't give you a typed study guide. She runs through the list very fast for you to write down what you need to study. She doesn't go back over it once she has read through it.

She gives you a study guide with everything that will be on the test , as long as you study you will do great in the class

AWESOME TEACHER! She makes the class very interesting, and is very clear during lecture. She moves a bit fast if you dont download the powerpoints, and is really fast telling you the study guide but she gives you everything you need to know for the test so write fast! Pros: Very good at teaching the material. Thought-provoking. Very clear about everything. Fairly easy A. Cons: Oddly strict about a lot of things. She is nice, but seems very stressed all the time.

Not only an amazing professor, but an amazing person as well. The lectures are very crucial for the test, I never used the textbook. Before every test, she told us just about every question that we had to study, so take notes and you will do well. There was only one paperassignment and a lot of options to choose from. Take her class!

Lucy is the greatest!! Unfortunately I have to focus on other classes, but I would take ANY of her classes again. Took Abnormal Psych last semester, and she was amazing! I feel like I left the class with a new passion for psych. She's super helpful, kind, and funny. Knows her stuff. If you reach out, she will help- she wants you to succeed!

She's awesome! Tests are fairly easy. She always tries to makes sure you understand the material. No HW. Just a one page research project. Easy A and you learn a lot.

I took PsyV01, V25, and V02 with Lucy. She is great and I learned a lot from her. You have to participate and she basically gives you what is on the tests. Make sure you show up though! Not a lot of homework expect one research paper that is super easy.

Psychology is a Science. As a Psychology major I expect to be presented with factual Scientifically backed information that I can carry with me for the rest of my education, and the rest of my life. Lucy presents her bias in every lecture. In her Developmental Psych class we just had entire class dedicated on her opinion why not to spank children.

I had taken Ms. Capuano for PsyV01, and it was a no-brainer for me to choose her as my PsyV02 Teacher. She gives plenty of extra credit opportunity and she enjoys her classes getting to know one another. She creates a safe, intimate environment for everyone to discuss on the same level. She makes sure to give you the tools you need to ace her class

Professor Capuano's zest for life is infectious. If you are looking for an instructor & class to inspire you to live the life you desire, this is a perfect fit! Life lessons galore in this class. If you are organized, take good notes and go to class, you could definitely get away with just renting the book in the library to save some money.

Lucy is amazing! Just show up, listen, participate and study. Her tests are very straight forward and for me they were easy. I never got bellow an A on any test and she drops your worst. Lots of EC offered. Don't be more than 10 min late.

1 research paper. 4 tests, drops the lowest. 1 final, accumulative. Enough extra credit offered to raise a letter grade. Don't come more than 10 minutes late to class, or she WILL kick you out. Lots of group discussions, so prepare to get out of your comfort zone. NO BOOK NEEDED. Lecture powerpoints are 90% of the test. Self-explanatory content.

She is hand down the best psychology professor i have taken. You know what she expects of you from the beginning and she is more than willing to answer any questions you have about anything. All the test material is on the power points so if you don't show up for class you won't miss much since you can just look up her powerpoint and you'll be good

She is an amazing professor! Tells you what she expects in the beginning and gives plenty of extra credit if needed. You only do one assignment and she gives you like over a month to do it. she is a very passionate person and has very touching stories. This is my second time taking her because I love her so much! Amazing Teacher, Lucy is truly caring about her students and there well-being. Very easy class you must be special to get anything other than an A, offers extra credit for things that as a Good human being you should be doing anyways such as participating in a heart walk or volunteering to help set up things. She is a amazing teacher. Class is very very easy. maybe half effort will get you an A in her class. Participation will give you extra credit on tests which is very helpful. She does everything a teacher could possibly do to get your grade higher. Great lectures but can also be hard to understand at times but makes up for it.

I've taken her multiple times and she is always great. I recommend the Personal Growth and Awareness class that she teaches, it didn't feel like a typical class and was far from boring.

I absolutely loved taking Lucy's class. She was clear about the content and always gave us clear study guides. She kept it interesting which made it easy to learn. If every professor taught their courses like she does, we would all be so much better off.

Ive taken so many of Lucy's classes and they are all great. The class is interesting and very easy. Little to no homework, only on really easy project that she allows extra credit for. If you study for the tests then you will be fine. She offers sooooo much extra credit I have over 100% in the class. Highly recommend any of her classes.

By far the easiest class I have taken, she cares for her students. No homework, all you have to do it look at the PowerPoint she provides and you'll pass. Drops the lowest test grade (out of the four). Study for the test and you'll pass with an A

Very easy class with a easy research paper and a few tests. The research paper was the easiest paper I've ever had while the tests were basic stuff within psychology consisting of mostly common sense questions. The usual class session was her lecturing based off a power point and then maybe a group activities, never calling on students for answers

Lucy is one of the most AMAZING professors VC has to offer. She genuinely cares about her students 100%. If you show up and pay attention/participate in class discussion, you'll be fine for the exams. You only have one "take home" assignment for the entire semester, so DO IT. I think everyone should take her PSY25 (human sexuality) class.

I learned a lot from her class. + Tests are nearly the same as the study guides/ powerpoint/ examples in class + Extra credits + Interesting lessons - Sometimes there is not enough time to cover the topics on the test in class--> you have to read the book to get the info - 10- minute rule. Lucy is a phenomenal professor, I actually took her for Psy V01, Psy V02, and Psy V05. EVERYTHING is in the SYLLABUS! No surprises, clear expectations, finish the term project early for +20 EC points! If you are participating, doing your reading and complete the project early you can end at 114%. Did it 3X! Best Part: SHE IS PASSIONATE about PSYC!

Study guides are way harder than the test. No reason why you shouldn't pass. One project and the rest are tests, sometimes extra credit. She's AMAZING!

I finished the class with 120%. I was planning to major in psychology and this class help me to fully commit to a Psychology Major. Professor Lucy cares about all her students and explains some amazing stories of her's. Join the Psychology Club, she is an advisor to it. There is one project which is only a one page paper. Super Easy and fun.

I learned so much from this class. I had a bad experience with my previous Psych instructor @ OC so I was extremely hesitant to take this class again. I'm glad I did because she was very engaging with the students and encouraged participation. She has a detailed syllabus of what she expects. Very organized. Looking forward to taking her other class

I thought it was great how passionate she is and she is very caring. I plan to take more classes from her. She is super nice and willing to help and takes interest in her students.

This class was easy and fun. I would have taken it even if it wasn't for credit. Lucy is such a wonderful person and wonderful educator, and she made her tests easy and her lecture content was easy to follow and interesting. I was able to come to her for non-school related issues and she was so gracious and willing to help. Highly recommend her.

Everyone who has taken a class with her loves her, and she deserves it. She's VC's secret gem. When I took her class, she'd always bring everyone's moods up and made it so easy for us to express our thoughts without feeling like we'd be judged. The class environment you get with her is better than you'll ever experience again.

SHE GIVES AMAZING LECTURES. She offers extra credit through participation. Her reviews are so helpful for the exams, I do recommend completing them a week before the test instead of the night before since they do cover several topics. She sticks to her syllabus and is very clear. 10/10 recommend taking her if you can!

Lucy Capuana is the BEST and most CARING teacher ever. She provides extra credit through participation and creates a comforting and open classroom environment. You wont feel scared to share thoughts and opinions. Her tests arent hard if you study the powerpoints and participate in class discussions. Class was easy to follow and INSPIRATIONAL!

Her class was pretty easy and she gives great feedback on each assignment relatively quickly. I didn't get to know her too well because her class is strictly online with no zoom meets but every comment she left seemed nice and caring. Very organized and overall a good teacher. She offers lots of extra credit and her assignments can be pretty fun.

Professor Capuano is very organized with the lectures and assignments online. She grades and gives feedback very quickly. This class is easy if you do the readings and watch the videos. You do not need the textbook for online because she provides the online book. Not a lot of reading. She provides a lot of extra credit assignments. Great professor.

Overall, I liked her online class. She gives about 1-2 online assignments + 1 discussion post per week & a short quiz every other week. There are a lot of videos to watch but for assignments but overall they are easy. I would take her again.

Prof. Lucy is an angel and an awesome professor. Her human sexuality class is very interesting especially when psychology is involved. This class was overall amazingly great and she truly is inspirational. We had 6 quizzes and she drops the lowest one and all classes were online cause of COVID but I wish I wouldve had her face to face. Take her

AMAZING PROFESSOR! I honestly did not do any of the reading an did not do good on my exams but I passed with an A because I participated during class which gives you extra credit, so I recommend doing all the extra credit that she offers as it will save your grade!

Discussions, Quizzes, and Midterms. Really clear class with a lot of discussions that really make you reflect on your life. Offers E.C. throughout the semester. Very nice but sticks with the timeline to finish homework.

It was an online class so I did have to read a lot. The only fun part are the crash courses she makes us watch which are entertaining. However, she asks questions from the videos and some responses can be long. Quizzes difficulty are average. She is very caring.

Provides multiple extra credit opportunities. Quizzes are based on the crash course videos along with with PowerPoint lectures. If you do the work its an easy A. I definitely will take another course with her.

Exceptional professor. She really cares about her students. Provided thought-provoking lectures and discussions, which I'm sure is hard to do in the middle of a pandemic. 10-15+Discussions, 5 Quiz (50pts each), and lots of E.C. Everyone should take her personal growth class. I learned so much about myself & the world. 100% recommend it.

The class is not difficult as long you try and stay on track, assignments are easy.

Great professor . I thought the online course was great. Everything I needed for the weekly quiz was available in the lecture PowerPoint . She is always available for office hours via zoom. Took this during the pandemic. Not sure how her in person course is.

Very interesting class I think everyone should try out her class if you can.

Just do the homework well and answer the question that was asked from the videos and its a easy pass.

There was a lot of homework and a few quizzes here and there but it was overall a pretty good class. The professor also gives good feedback.

Took this class fully online but it was great. The entire class is based off discussion post, few crash course videos and quizzes every 1-3 weeks. The quizzes are pretty easy too, she provides power points for them!

LOVED prof Cap. Navigated extremely touchy subjects with supreme elegance and care. Tons of field experience and I actually look forward to classes! Lots of resources and a good bit of hw but not too much I would say. Highly highly recommend her -- taking another class with her next semester.

GREAT professor!!! Study the online PDFs & watch the videos, and you'll get an A. Please note, do NOT forget to respond to class members' discussions or you will be docked a few points on the discussion assignments. There are a number of extra credit assignments available. The professor is always available and really cares about her students.

Amazing professor, made the lecture not boring. Please participate as she does ask for people to. Such a nice professor and she makes lecture so fun, made everyone in the class comfortable. I would 100% take her again.

Took her intro to psych class and it was very engaging and easy. The assignments and discussions were easy. Do the study guide every module you are bound to pass each unit exam. There is also extra credit opportunities so a missed assignment here and there shouldn't impact your grade if you take advantage of the extra credit opportunities.

Love her! Great Professor. If you like Professor Milanis classes then you'll like her too. You learn a lot but in a great way. Workload is very reasonable. Few Quizzes. No tests or finals.

This class was so fun and engaging! Very stress free as well; I took her 18 week course and it was usually some reading and a discussion post and/or a quiz at the end of it. It was nice because I learned a lot from it and as long as you keep up with the work, you'll do just fine.

Lots to read, but not too difficult. I'll be taking her again next semester. Hard to convey personality online, but she seemed sweet. I'm looking forward to meeting her in person. I found that I could forget most of the reading and just rely on what I needed to read for the actual assignment I was doing. 10/10

She is amazing. You feel welcomed and comfortable in her class once you walk in or she walks in. I looked forward to going to her classes twice a week. The posts articles to read about the topic and her lectures are always interesting. You will not be bored at all in this class. Great professor!

Fully online - I loved this class! She is very organized and structured; all coursework is uploaded immediately & assignments graded promptly. Assignments are not too time-consuming. Keep up on the reading, fill out the Learning Objectives worksheet each week to help you with the quizzes, & turn in assignments on time & you'll get a good grade.

Very welcoming prof. Allows for one test to be dropped. Tests are weekly and aren't really hard. Tons of reading and watching videos but the assignments are pretty easy. Lots of discussion posts. Really nice teacher, recommend taking her!

Great and easy class! Some readings/power-points and 1-3 assignments per week. Tests every few weeks but not difficult. She drops the lowest grade you received in each category which is super nice + offers some extra credit throughout the modules. Does not accept any late-work

I loved her class, it was so engaging and organized! Just fill out the study guide at the beginning of every week and the discussion boards and tests will be easy.

Very passionate and extremely knowledgeable. Lectures are amazing and she always wants to hear your feedback and feelings towards every topic. Easy class, homework is just 1-2 group discussions which you have a full week to complete. Takes NO LATE WORK! Easy quizzes online as long as you go along with the PowerPoint. Highly recommend.

Yes, yes, yes. She is very knowledgably and passionate about Psychology. She inspired me in many different ways. I will remember her forever! She wants the best for everyone, and wants people to be in the present in her class. There's many group work, which I like. She is big on no phones. An actual GOAT!

Very amazing professor, Clear on grading DOES NOT accept late work and allows ur lowest quiz to be dropped. Be prepared to have lots of group discussions. Overall very amazing and I am taking her again.

Professor Capuano is amazing - she makes the lectures engaging and encourages participation. Stay on top of the readings and use unstuckstudy ai for study prep, and you'll do great in this class.

Professor Capuano is an amazing person she is super understanding, caring, & respectful. Her classes are engaging, discussions are easy to complete and she also offers extra credit. I would definitely take more classes with Professor Capuano just for fun.

Course is very lecture-intensive and has lots of material, so plan ahead and study. You only need to read her pptx lecture. One lecture per week with 1-2 discussions (sometimes an extra-credit one) and a quiz every two weeks, with no final or midterm. Does not accept late work and will drop your lowest quiz score at the end of the semester.

Great professor. Assignments and tests are very easy. Class time is very interactive, but the material goes by very quickly. Would recommend to anyone needing to take a psych class.

She doesn't accept late work but the assignments are very manageable, normally 1 assignment a week, maybe 2. Quizzes are all multiple choice (6 quizzes, no finals or midterms). She grades quickly and is very knowledgeable. Offers A LOT of extra credit. She definitely wants everyone to enjoy her class and strive for success. I recommend her class!

An amazing professor, very clear lectures, assignments, and quizzes. And keeps the class interesting. She is also very kind and interactive. Discussions matter the most. Would definitely take again. :)

Took her for Personal Dev, I loved it. She was so sweet and theres basically only a couple discussions and quizzes!

I LOVE Professor Capuano. She is funny, supportive, and very engaging. Her lectures are not boring at all, and it's very easy to follow along in this class. There are discussion posts due every week which require a lot of work, but it's very manageable. I would recommend her to anyone, seriously.

I took her into to phy class and loved it, Ive had friends take her other classes and all say the same thing. 10/10 recommend

I can't stress enough how amazing Professor Capuano is!! She has clear grading criteria, grades assignments extremely quick, and has a genuine passion for psychology. Her lectures are fun and fly by, and her assignments are all relevant to the course; no busy work. Overall, she is amazing and you should take her if you can!!

Took her for both PsyV01 and PsyV15, and both were easy, interesting classes. The videos and articles provided for discussion are actually very insightful and interesting to watch/read through. Quizzes very straight forward. If you do your assignments and read the resources provided, there is no reason you shouldn't pass with an A.

Very straightforward and easy class! Professor Capuano gives great feedback on every assignment and never gives an unreasonable amount of work, just a lot of reading! Very caring and understanding professor, always felt comfortable enough to reach out. Tons of extra credit opportunities and had no issues throughout the semester.

I've taken three of Professor Capuano's psychology classes. She provides a lot of articles and videos that are interesting to read/watch and her instructions for assignments & quizzes are always clear and to the point. Any psychology class I'm required to take for my major I take hers if available. 100% recommend.

Took Vol1 psyc, online 18 week. 1-2 assignments due on sunday and they were easy for me. Videos and articles were actually interesting so it made the assignments easy. Teacher is very tech savvy and gives comments on assignments. Really would rec. this course, easy A if you stay on track.

Took a longer class that entailed an assignment each week + reading, and about every other week a 25 question quiz on top of that. Free textbook & clear expectations, interesting units. Prof Capuano was great & posted reminders about due dates. Would recommend.

One of my favorite classes! Professor Capuano is amazing—fun, supportive, and serious when needed. The class is easy if you keep up with the work. Quizzes are simple with her study guides. Lots of participation and discussion, and I learned a lot. I'd definitely take her again!
