I took the class for 6 weeks and I failed. I personally did not like this professor. She had 2 exams and 2 essays. THe first essay was a response to a article. How can you get a bad grade on what you think about a paper? I wouldn't take this teacher for art if I were you.

Extremely helpful professor who knows exactly what she is talking about. Went into course not knowing what to expect, and by the end of the semester it was my favorite course. Exams are mostly memorization though. If you pay attention during class, take pleny of notes, and study a few hours on slide images you shouldn't have any problems.

Very knowledgeable professor. Can earn an A but it is not a give-away. Must do the work! You do not need to read the book, just study the slides that she gives you. The book is an excellent reference for the slides. A lot of memorization is needed to pass the tests but she grades easy.

Abominable!!!! Lecture is unorganized and continually goes past allotted time due to professor getting off track which is frustrating for us attending night classes. Atmosphere allows for students to blurt out ideas and/or questions which promote even more distractive lecturing by professor. Tests are not bad if you memorize images and attend class

I'm a straight A student and this has to be one of the hardest classes I've taken at NOVA. Ms. Weber is clearly passionate about Art History but that would be my only compliment. Is a very harsh grader on the final exam and gives a lot of HW. Does NOT give extra credit and will not curve your final grade even though you're 1.15 point off from an A.

You made a good choice if you take her! The classwork is a LOT of writing! She is NOT a tough grader, so most people do fine on the assignments. And she provides clear feedback on every paper! There is clear grading criteria, so just follow that & you will be good to go. She is very caring so she never gives hard zeros. Straight to the point class.

Amazing teacher. Her passion for her work and teaching it to others is obvious in how she conducts herself. She will really make you work for your grade but offers extra credit and grades purely on what you know and not minor details. Dont skip class! What she shares in her lectures will help you a lot in your exams. She is also friendly and fun!

Professor Weber's class is very relaxed. there's reading but it is definitely doable and the assignments are not overwhelming just do it on time. She's a very lenient grader. I will have many mistakes in my writing and she will constructively point them out but I get As anyways. Take her class.

Professor Weber gives excellent feedback, but you should take the writing assignments seriously and reach out to her if you have questions. Really nice lady. Besides the museum project, the work is pretty simple. Mostly interpreting and analyzing art using what you learned from book and lecture. I took modern art and found the lectures pretty interesting. I left the class feeling genuinely more educated. Recommend this professor fo sure if you need an art credit.

Lucy Weber is a fantastic art history teacher. If you show up and do your homework, you'll feel like an expert in art history by the end. Yes, the tests are difficult, but if you take notes during the classes you'll be a-o-k! Her feedback is fantastic if you want to learn what you can improve on. Not an "easy A" but definitely worth every second.

Professor Weber is a good professor, but you need to be able to manage your time wisely. I took a hybrid course so there was a lot of outside work. If you can manage doing half the classwork outside, I would recommend her hybrid. She knows what she is talking about and is always happy to give more explanations.

Professor Weber is kind and helpful. Her class was very organized. There was a textbook but she provided so many resources that I rarely used it. Exams were nice as they were multiple choice howerver, you still need to study or you will fail. Some of the questions are simple identification of a piece of art or architecture so no faking that.

ALWAYS take notes! having just some basic understanding of each art and a little history behind it, can help you a lot on the exam. If she spent a lot of time going over this art piece, then that art piece would most likely be on the exam. Overall, if you did your homework, wrote your papers, and studied for exam, you'll easily get an A.
