He's sometimes hard to understand because of his accent, but he's a decent teacher. I think he's cancelled class more times than he's had it, which is alright as long as i get a good grade.

Getting an A in this class was very easy. We only had 3 papers (1 individual and 2 group papers).I like this guy. One of my group members had to go away for the weekend, and he extended our due date which was very nice of him. If you need this class just because it is required for your major, and you are looking for an easy professor take Brinker

very easy to get an A in this class. we only had 4 papers to write... adn let me tell u, i am not a good writer but aced all 4 papers. just follow his instustions and u will do great. he is a lil goofy, not gonna lie but an easy A for sure. by the way class is always half as long as it should be and cancelled about every 4th or 5th class period.

vary easy class, 4 papers and 3 of them you can do as a group. He never comes to class and doesnt grade to hard. easy A

at first i thought he would be a hard teacher, but honestly he is a very easy teacher, easy going. only 4 parers to write and there all group papers so if u want a A then take this teacher

He's great! Very easy class. I wish i could take him again for another class. he gives a quiz at the end of lecture about what you talked about during lecture (2-3 questions and super easy), and one midterm and one final, which were even easier than the quizes. TAKE HIM :)

All you do is easy grammer and you only have a few papers. Ive never had a problem with him never showing up although i hear he makes a habit of it. He goes through everything with the class. Easier then high school really.

This is an easy class. You have 2 research papers and he made us do a resume'. He's a smart guy, and he won't pass up on an opportunity to shred up your paper grammer wise. Goes over everything very clearly. The only problem is that he decides to show up when he wants to. That may be a good thing for some of you. Not a bad class at all.

Such a easy class! Teacher was easy, he shows up when he wants! Class is based on 2 papers and a resume! The papers are group papers as well! Easy class cool teacher although a bit strange!!

He is a very easy guy, as long as your on his good side. doesn't put up with stupid people or morons. If you listen to him and do what he says, your do good. grade is 2 (10 page) group paper and you start off doing a resume and cover letter before the 2 papers. Easy class, but sometimes doesn't teach as much as he should. You only get 4 missed days

took him for a summer lit class. never read a single book....got a 4.0 he basically just sits with the quiz in his hand and asks you the questions directly.

I have taken Dr. Brinker for two english classes now, and I have nothing but good things to say about him! I'm really confused as to why people have bad complaints about him. He is a little out there, but he's a great guy who means well. The papers were easy, and the texts that we read were always discussed in detail in class. I recommend him!

Don't listen to the people below giving Dr Brinker bad ratings, they are probably the idiot kids who showed up late everyday and wrote their paper the day before it was due - of course your grade will suck! I got A's on every paper and didn't really put that much effort in. THIS IS THE GUY TO TAKE - 3 papers total, 1 is a resume. Dr Brinker rocks!

He is a good teacher. There is not a lot of work in this class. 1 resume and 2 research papers. He gives you topics to choose from, but they were not very interesting topics to me. You can also work in groups on the research papers, but you don't have to. He grades fairly, but does not go over your paper with you very much if you get a good grade.

Dr Brinker is great, I hadn't written a paper in forever and he guided us through it. If you just got out of High School, dont complain that his class was harder, it wasn't. He is easy for a college level course, grow up.

he is very serious about this class. he is hard but it pushes you to learn. before you write a paper he goes over everything you need in class before you write it.if you are a bum and a joker dont take his class he wont tolerate immaturity, lateness and absenteeism. most fashion concious teacher i have ever had. class is interesting at least

If you're not a strong writter try to take someone else. But he wasn't to bad, he explained things easily and the papers weren't that long. I thought he was easy, theres no real work besides the papers. And no tests.

nice teacher and dresses with style he owns the whole line of Akademiks sportswear. He grades hard but will let you redue assignments.

Very great teacher. At first I thought this class would be super hard from the way he presented himself, but he ended up being very helpful. I would recommend him to anyone.

Brinker is a sarcastic, funny guy, and sometimes people find it offensive. He can be boring, but to me English never was interesting. We use the book in class sometimes, I don't believe you'll do poorly in the class if you don't purchase it, but you should if you're not a confident writer, it might help.

Professor brinker was very unhelpful, he did not explain assignments well. He always turned a question into " I don't know is" or made a joke, which doesn't help the student learn or understand the answer. I would avoid taking him for any class.

reading all these comments sickens me. I took his class and I showed up, asked questions and took his advice. If you're unclear on an assignment ASK QUESTIONS! He made time to meet with me during office hours and was always available by email. He gives class time for writing and peer editing so s long you do your part he does his. ASK QUESTIONS!

Before I took this class I was looking at the comments on here and got really scared. Then I actually took his class and was wondering why all these negative comments were on here. Just put some thought and effort into the papers and participate every now and then and you will be fine. He is a great professor!

He has a lot of back round. I liked him as an English teacher. He knew what he was doing. He is very enthusiastic and has lots of energy, even on his poor days. The class hours were not that long. It is required 2 books, but it is a simple class. I wrote my papers based on the examples and that's what helped me passed.

He is a wonderful teacher and surprisingly really funny as well.

He's a great teacher! As long as you put in the effort don't fool around, and can take his sarcasm you'll love the class! He bumped me up to an A instead of a B+ because he knew i was a hard worker!

I really enjoyed his class, he is funny and very intelligent and he knows how to keep you entertained. As far as grading goes he is strict but not to strict. You definitely have to have good attendance as well as turning in all of your assignments on time or you wont get a passing grade. His class is challenging but not impossible.

Professor Brinker is one of my favorite English professors at Macomb. He knows the subject very well and explains everything you need to do for a paper in great detail. Your grade is based on five papers but it is possible to get an A if you follow the criteria. If you actually want to improve your writing skills, take his class.

Dr. Brinker is a great professor! He assigns a series of papers all related to a topic of your choice. He is a super tough professor, and makes you earn your A. You use the book a lot, and get assignments from it almost every class. Do your homework and take advantage of his office hours!

This is not a class for slackers - It's for serious college students. You want to learn and greatly improve your writing skills? Take this professor. He is extremely knowledgeable. Papers assigned aren't hard but they do require time and effort. You will definitely use the books so BUY THEM. There is only 2 and they aren't expensive.

If you pay attention in his class and show up you will be successful. He doesn't grade that hard as long as you complete all the requirements on the assignment. Class has never gone for more than 45 minutes which is great. He might seem mean at first but he's a sweetheart. You have frequent quizzes but they all should be easy if you pay attention.

I feel like the individuals who are rating him poorly are only doing so because they didn't follow his directions and earned a bad grade. He is an awesome teacher and is not a tough grader at all as long as you follow the requirements for each assignment. Hes very easy going and isnt one to keep you for there for a whole 2 hours to lecture.

Great professor. The only people who say they didnt like him are the lazy people who couldnt handle a normal work load. He is a very funny and sweet man who actually cares about his students grades. Gave out a ton of good sources and materials and my essay writing had significantly increased since taking his class. Would highly recommend

I was not expecting the class to be so smooth after reading some of the reviews. Class was always super short. We went over grammar got an essay if we had one and left. Only homework was regular essays but theres only 4 or 5 the whole semester. Btw save money dont buy the books we barely used the grammar book and didnt use the essay book at all.

At first I was very intimidated when I saw his rating on here, so thought I wouldn't be able to keep up. He is strict but he's also reasonable and he goes above and beyond for the education for his students. I think some of the ratings he has are from fresh out of high school and don't have the maturity to appreciate the work he puts in his lessons

I believe there are 4 fairly easy papers before the final researched position paper. Do not listen to the bad reviews. He tells you exactly how to get an A on each paper, just read what is required and do it. He was not an overly critical grader either. If you made a solid argument and everything he asked for was in the paper you scored high.

Professor Ludger is a great teacher. He is very considerate and easygoing. I am very confused with the bad reviews because, in my experience, he didn't put out a lot of essays and assignments. I would recommend all my friends to his class.

TAKE THIS ENGLISH CLASS FOR A EASY A . I got a A on every assignment in his course everything was easy honestly like and ask him questions if you are confused

Professor Brinker is by far one of the best English teachers I've ever had. For anyone saying his class was super difficult - it really wasn't. As long as you stay up to date on the weekly modules you will do great. He is super nice and gives good feedback one essays. This class has weekly quizzes. The essays and discussion posts aren't difficult.

He was great of you need help just ask and he will respond quickly , the videos help!

He was a fantastic professor and he spells out exactly what he is looking for in his papers, he usually provides power point and example papers of what to do and what not to do. He is also a funny guy.

This was by far one of my favorite professors at MCC. Although this class had an extremely heavy workload. The professor provided plenty of resources for students to refer back to for help. Along with also being extremely helpful and responsive through email. The workload is heavy, but as long as you time manage your work, you will be okay.

This was the very first class I took at MCC. Dr. Brinker is very straightforward with his expectations. He was invaluable when I had any questions and gave great feedback. He is a traditional professor. You'll do great if you do your assignments, turn them in on time, and follow the guidelines!

He is a very humorous and friendly professor. I really enjoyed his class and how he ran it. However, from my experience, he is kind of picky when it comes to grading but the assignments are pretty straightforward.

This class is pretty tough, but the videos help. Using Unstuck ai along with the textbook can really make a difference. Just be ready to engage and don't slack on the assignments.
