Very hard to understand due to accent. Does not explain well and is overall a very confusing teacher. She means well, but I would switch if had the oppurtunity.
She is extremely hard to understand and very impatient when it comes to answering "stupid" questions, in her words. My whole class wants to switch out and she basically shouldn't be teaching.
not helpful, rolls her eyes when you ask for help. very rude, hard to understand because of language barrier. its as if she works against you than working with you. not lienant. i definitely do NOT suggest taking her class
hard to understand, wont help with anything if you don't understand what you are talking about. is never on time. would never take another class with her again. does under the bare min.
Unprofessional, late for class daily and unprepared. Test material did not cover what little she presented to class. Used the examples in the book to put on board. Does not answer questions in CLASS or even out of class for that matter. BAD TEACHER!!!!
This professor has a very strong accent. No one in the entire planet has ANY idea what she is saying! She told us herself she does not want to be in class and refused to help because "we should know this material already".
horrible. can't understand her and rather condescending. do NOT take a class with her. dont take a math at all if possible
How is she still teaching?! No one in my entire class could understand her because she mumbles. She does not answer questions at all. She has expressed that she does not want to be in class numerous times. Everyone was lost, everyone wanted to withdraw. STAY AWAY!!!!
She was my favorite professor! super easy for it being micro, explains well and her accent isn't that difficult i don't know why everyone said that, open your ears and go to class and pay attention. thats your job not hers :) Anyway I recommend !
Absolutely loved her and the class! Will be taking her for other courses, also you can most defiantly understand her. You need to pay attention and take responsibility and its a good class. Its up to you to pass not her.
She just doesn't know English. She is such a horrible professor.
One of the best professors I ever had. Always willing to help you during office hours. Makes sure you understand and doesnt go too fast. Tests arent 100 percent of your grade. 40 percent of it is homework, which you can do over until you get a 100, so if you study for the exams you will be fine and pass or do well.
microeconomics is a very difficult course, which i waited last semester before graduation to take. was glad to take it with her. she was helpful, kind, and a great professor. the hw is a great preparation for the exams, and weighted almost as equal to the exams. also very helpful during office hours. go to SI, and her reviews and you will do fine
really good professor in my estimation. i was very ill last semester and missed so much class (nearly 23) and she went out of her way during office hours to get me caught up and i still got a B. her reviews are also very helpful, and her exam questions often parallel the homeworks she gives. Understand the homework and you will be fine.
Hard course. Take it with her during summer sessions, since is in a big lecture hall in fall or spring. She's a great teacher, always making sure you understand the course material. doesn't go fast or skip over material. Her homework was a huge asset for me. You can get full credit for homework and fail exams and still get a C.
macroecon isn't easy, but glad I took it with Park. Drops lowest exam. lowest 2 homeworks. go to class since attendance is part of your grade. easy points. She is extremely nice, very helpful if you go to her office hours. provides all materials on blackboard for exams. if you understand them, youll do fine. Homeworks a little tough. good teacher
nice lady with a bit of an accent. i thought she was great for microeconomics. she doesnt fly through the notes, which gives students like me, a better chance to grasp things. explains things very well. her connect assignments are helpful, since exam questions are very similar. responds quickly to emails and wants all students to do well
very helpful teacher. after she explains anything she'll ask to see if you understand what she just went over. exams werent too hard if you understand the homework - which you can do over and over until you master. glad i had her for micro
She was great! Highly recommend. Exams arent too tough and her homework prepares you for the tests. One test take home. Homework weighed almost same as exams. Overly helpful and kind
Took microeconomics, with her in the Fall, and she was cheerful, nice and very helpful. Received an A. Homework is 40 percent of your grade. Good professor for Econ 22060.
She was a decent economics professor. The course isnt easy, but then again which ECON course is? Her homework was a great asset for exams. Nice lady and will do anything to help and make sure you understand.
Her expectations were clear, and she was a knowledgeable good economics professor. Her test questions werent too difficult, if you attend the reviews and do all the homework.
This class is very confusing if you don't pay close attention to everything Luda says. She is foreign but you get used to her accent. The tests can be easy but you have to write down all the examples and make sure you have good explanations for everything. Her class has a lot of homework but it is every easy to gain points from there.
Absolutely terrible professor. I took her in the Fall of 2015 and it was not only boring but she is not helpful what-so-ever. Not sure how people like this get teaching degrees. She barely touches on main ideas, is hard to understand, and is not passionate. The tests are all computer based on CONNECT so none if it relates to exams or homework.
If you have to take Macro, take it with her! She is a wonderful person and professor. Does everything to make sure you understand. Homework prepares you well for exams. Helpful reviews. Very helpful during office hours.
Highly recommend her for principles of micro or macro. Pretty great professor in my personal opinion. Homework is at least 40 percent of your grade and you can do it until you score 100, which not only helps your grade, but prepares you thoroughly for exams. Very kind during office hours. Extremely helpful. I wish she taught Econometrics or Interme
Very intelligent economics professor and conveys information well. In most classes if you miss a lot you're screwed, but if you attend her reviews before the exam you will pass ... work hard and a decent great will be achieved. Noone likes doing weekly homework, but it holds equal weight for exams, and the questions are very similar. Love her.
Had her last Fall and loved her and her class. Thought she was an excellent Micro prof. Other economics courses make 100 percent of your grade being 4 tests. Luda, lets homework account for 40 percent of the course grade which is a chunk and you can do them til you score 100. When you redo them forces you to learn material and tests aren't hard.
Luda is a great professor to have for micro/macro. Connect assignments count for a huge bulk of your grade, which you can redo until 100% mastery is attained, and exam questions are very similar. Lets you use youf r notes for the exams (another plus), and one exam is take home. If show up for class and put forth some effort, you can easily do well
Have her this semester and I think she is great. Very straightforward about everything you need to know for the class. She has an accent, but very understandable and knowledgeable.
Highly recommend!
Professor Leontieva, is nice and cheerful. I got a B, since homework carries the weight of probably 2 exams, and she makes one take-home. You cant ask for a better teacher. You do need to put forth some effort to do well, afterall this is a challenging course.
Have her this semester and her expectations are clear and will do anything in her power to help you. Very helpful if you speak to her during office hours. The class is challenging, but she is both friendly and rooting for you to earn a decent grade in her class. Come to class and do homework and the tests will be a breeze
Had Ludmila last year for Micro and thought she was great and explained material well for a beginniner like me, never overcomplicating things. She was helpful to me during the office hours. Its rare for you to enroll in a c lass and come exam time, not find any surprises on the exam which i worried about. There were none since her hw helps alot
Luda is a very knowledgeable and very understanding professor, that cares for her students and wants everyone to do well. She is more then helpful, and will assist you in any way if you come to her office hours. She tells you everything you need to know for the exam. Her exam questions are fair. I am a horrible math student and I got a B+
Had her a little over a year ago and liked her teaching methods and the way she taught. She utilized Connect which I found was a valuable resource giving you practice with comprehensive problems that you could do over and over til you were satisfied with your homework grade. all the practice was beneficial for exams and the questions were so simila
I took Dr Leontieva for Microeconomics, Summer of 2014. It was a heck of a lot of material to cram into 5 weeks, but she cared about us as students, and went out of her way to be overly helpful and nice. Assignments were on Connect, and doing them helps your grade, and the tests were very fair since were similar to the review practices. recommend
definately recommend for microeconomics
Dr. Leontieva explains concepts well and doesnt fly through the material as some do. After she covers each new topic she'll ask for your feedback to make sure you understand. Her connect assignments are helpful and the points add up, can redo until you get 100. Easy points. Will absolutely take her again for macro
Luda is a very nice person. She has a bit of an accent, but you can definately understand her. Explains material well in step by step fashion asking your feedback to gauge whether you understand. Her hw is helpful and honestly her exam questions are a piece of cake if you can do all the hw. If you have to take micro econ with her, she is superb
Luda was one of the best teachers that I have had at Kent. Yes her class was difficult but she is super passionate and challenged us to think about the material in a new way. Her homework is all on Connect and helps a lot come exam time.
Good professor! The lectures are slightly fast paced , so it is paramount to keep on top of studying. Office hours, class attendance, and utilizing a study group are the essentials to being successful in this course. The material is quite challenging, but Dr Leontieva is very helpful and what you put in to this class, is what you will get out.
Ms. Leontieva was an alright professor. She's there for you if you need help, but is hard to understand because of her accent and her lectures are very dry. Make sure you do the homeworks and thoroughly understand the criteria. About half way through the semester a lot of people stop showing up. Don't do that because she has in class assignments.
great professor, has an accent, but it does NOT interfere with the clarity of her lectures in any way. I found her lectures to be really organized, and exactly what is found on exams--her examples serve a well-defined purpose, and her tests aren't so difficult. She is very helpful too. Will take her in a future semester for Macro if she teaches it.
She is super helpful and very clear with everything she says, very straightforward, and you know exactly what you will be tested on. genuinely cares that everyone understands the material and passes the class. Make sure you go to class (I am horrible at math and received an A in her section).
Go to class, study your notes, pay attention and attend her reviews, and you will get a great grade.
I took Microeconomics with her, and I had a really difficult time in the class. She has a pretty thick accent and can be very hard to understand her at times, and I really did not enjoy her teaching style. She had us work on random examples all class long. Nice lady, and very educated in the topic, but makes the concepts very hard to understand.
Very knowledgable and nice lady!! Tries to focus on concepts in lectures rather than definitions or basic info. Never Jumps from one topic to the next without explaining which makes her lectures easy to follow. Will take her again for macro if she teaches it
great micro professor
She has a very thick accent making what she is saying hard to understand. She also doesn't really cover any material during lecture, just flips through a few slides and puts a few graphs on the board. Nothing in the exams was covered in class or in her "reviews" and involve a lot of obscure information not really relevant to macro.
Mrs. Leontieva is a great professor and great class overall. She has a very direct method of teaching and is open to questions. very accessible to students and wants everyone to do well. Another plus - unlike most economics professors that bog you down with pages of notes, she focuses on the main concepts.
Have taken Prof Leontieva for micro and macro and personal finance. She is nice, very helpful, very clear and love her teaching style. Tells you whats on the midterms and very straightforward. Attendance is essential, but even if you miss several classes, catching up is doable since she is one of the most helpful professors. Highly recommend
Great professor in the economics department. Have learned a lot from her classes and she is very patient and extremely helpful. The course material can be challenging and tedious, but she never goes too fast and all her examples are found on the tests so if you can work through the material, you will be fine on the exams.
This course is tough and definitely one you want to stay on track of and not skip. That said, Mrs. Leontieva is extremely nice, patient and helpful and explains concepts well. If you come to class and understand all the examples in class, you will be great come test time. Going to take her Macro class next semester.
One of the best. She loves teaching and it shows, and her students. She teaches so well, if you go to class you will do fine on tests. Her tests are designed to assess you have attended class and your understanding. Grading is very fair and honest. I'm really glad I was in her class last semester
I have her for mico and she is impossible to understand! She is always mixing up terms which is super confusing in an already tough course. I would never take her again! She speeds through power points and goes way too fast. She is nice but she just sucks at teaching
extremely hard class, but she is a great professor. explains concepts well and her exams arent difficult.
have her this semester and I think she is awesome!!!!
excellent macroeconomics professor. will help you with any thing you need
Have her this semester and just love her. Very knowledgeable, kind woman.
Such an unpleasant experience in her class. It is impossible to understand her majority of the time and her explanations are mostly unclear. Whenever you ask for help, you may or may not get a clear response from her. Her notes rarely make any sense and she jumps around too much during the lecture. I learned more by teaching myself the material.
thought she was a great economics professor. Her tests arent difficult and I found her to be very helpful and making a difficult subject understandable. Will take her again
She is hard to understand and the tests are WAAYY harder than the homework. However, she doesn't see the problem with that so it doesn't help to point it out.
Prof Leontieva, is great. Had her for Micro over a year ago and took her for Macro this semester. She is really nice and explains material well. Lots of examples, that prepare you great for exams, she commonly goes over in class. She'll help in any way, all you have to do is ask. She is very approachable and seemingly enjoys assisting students.
Very, very hard class, but a very great professor. I registered late in January and got her section, and she made a class I was dreading, actually enjoyable and learned a lot from her
I had a lot of trouble with the course, but she was still a great professor and always patient with me and willing to help. Homework is the best preparation for exams, so doing it is a must as well as regular class attendance, since if you miss a lecture you fall really behind.
She took a difficult course and made it as easy as possible to grasp. I know I wouldnt have done well in this course, if i took it with another prof. She works through hard problems in class, and found that exams were easier because of that. Overall liked her a lot and will take her for other econ classes.
I found her tests to be pretty straight forward and not difficult. She prepares you well for the exams and is a nice person. If you dont do well in the course, its because you didnt put forth the effort or the time to go see her during office hours.
This is a very hard class, but she truly cares about your success and wanting you to understand the material and key concepts. She works through examples in class, to assure you understand, and tests arent too difficult. Very helpful, nice, and dedicated ECON prof.
Course really isnt as hard as everyone says it is. Dr Leontieva is a dedicated professor and goes over everything in class that will be addressed during the exam. She always welcomes questions and tries to make the rigor of the course, as easy as possible. Recommend
Her homework is such a great preperation for the exams, and she is a good professor to have for micro/macro. There were no surprises on the exams since she conveyed everything you needed to know.
Professor Leontieva is extremely helpful and a good professor. I found her homework prepared me well for the exams.
Had her this semester, and found her to be a pretty good teacher. Got a B in the course.
Excellent microeconomics professor. No trick questions on exams and everything else very straight forward
If you show up for class and understand everything she says, you will be fine on the exams. She is very thorough in her explanations and never asks trick questions. She always makes herself available to students as well.
Nice. Has a bit of an accent. lectures are pretty clear and organized and gives plenty of helpful in class examples. enjoyed her class that I switched my major to the Economics major! Overall a good professor and I highly recommend taking micro and publ finance with her! However the class moves pretty fast so you have to study efficiently.
I wont lie, she can be hard to understand, but is super nice and helpful and if you really want to learn take her. tests are not difficult and on expected material. the day before the exam she hints about what will be asked in the test. The people that complain are likely those that dont read the chapter before class. her examples are pretty helpfu
Would recommend her. Has an accent, but she gets the point across clearly. She uses good examples to further explain concepts. Tests come directly from the material and in-class examples. Tests are fair. No surprises though. You study, you do well is how her class works.
such a sweetheart and she wants people to answer questions. sometimes hard to understand but if you have a question just ask her after class and she obviously cares and wants everyone to do well. make sure you have a laptop in class and outside of class. very funny.
get ready to not understand a word she says
She is the worst teacher I have ever had.. You can not understand a word that comes out of her mouth because of her HORRIBLE accent and her hand writing is even worse. You learn nothing and have to teach yourself. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TEACHER!!!!!!!!!!
Such a great economics professor. I feel I was prepared for every test. If you go see her during office hours she is not only helpful but will allude to the most important concepts you will be tested on. Just wish she taught intermediate macro/micro. Going to miss her.
Although she cares for her students and makes time to see people outside of class, she isn't the best teacher. This class is self taught and even then it still isn't goo enough for the exams. There are only three exams but all of the study guides for the exams don't help.
Ludmila was, as other have said, hard to understand, but she really cares for her students. Her exams are hard. You do get to use a page (front and back) of notes for them. But they're hard. I'd probably take another professor if I had this class to do over again because of that, but she's super funny and very accessible outside of class!
Lectures were difficult to understand, but she was available outside of class if you needed extra help. The course material in general to most people is difficult and the tests are also pretty difficult. She gives some extra credit opportunities and in class participation which helps your grade.
She is nice person, but terrible professor! -She doesnt explain the concepts very well. - The test are pretty hard. - She doesnt drop the lowest grade . There is no extra credit!
Although with her accent she can be difficult to understand, she really cares about her students and wants them to do well. I suck at econ no matter who the professor is but she really does try to help her students do their best.
Professor Leontieva can be difficult to understand due to her accent, but she is a good teacher. She cares a lot about her students and gives them plenty of opportunities to succeed. We had many extra credit opportunities throughout the semester, and going to class gives you automatic points.
Luda was hard to understand at times, but it wasn't impossible. There were 3 exams the entire year and the first 2 were taken on your own time. She gives a ton of opportunity for extra credit and is always willing to help her students. you have to go to class because sometimes she collects class work and grades it. Overall Luda was a great prof.
Have Dr. Leontieva this semester online and love her! Her powerpoints and explanations are clear. Test questions are very straight forward and wants us to do well and always encourages questions. Plan to take her again for upper level econ in person.
She was awesome, did well in class and she was available to help! Because of her, my love for finance has grown!
Compared to micro, this class was a breeze. Online was entirely through the book program, besides the discussion boards, so I did not interact with the professor much. Through weekly emails she always seemed willing to help though. Expectations and the schedule of due dates was really clear and flowed well for a 5-week course.
Prof. Leontieva was great. This was a wonderful experience I learned so much about economics. I highly recommend taking this class! She will help you though any questions. Truly inspired by her and her class.
Had Dr. Leontieva for Regional Economics in a ZOOM room class. Overall an OK professor both good and bad things. Lenient on due dates, easy to speak to. Grading is very weird, will give you an 80% with no feedback and then a 90% for the same quality of work. Often gets distracted during lectures and is confusing when explaining things.
I took both microeconomics and macroeconomics with Prof. Leontieva, as I genuinely enjoyed her courses. She assigns weekly assignments, but they are pretty easy to do as you have videos and the textbook to read which provide you all of the information that you would need. The exams were all open note, as it made the learning experience stress-free.
