I feel like this is a politician that just keeps saying how hard it's going to be but never really explains what exactly is going to happen. It feels like he never gets to the point so I don't see how he's eng pro.

His syllabus (playbook) is over 1,000 pages. No assigned textbook because he calls it "Pre-chewed literature". It's an online English general ed class which normally fill up on the first day of registration. My class had 17 out of 40 students drop in the first week. I dropped by the second week when it became apparent that his class was chaos.

Be warned, Cobene heavily emphasizes the process involving research papers. He runs his course like a boot camp for liberal arts majors. And yes, he does indeed distribute a 1000+ page "manifesto". On the plus side you needn't purchase textbooks. Register only if you're looking for a serious challenge. Or if you're a glutton for punishment.

I took professor Cobene's online English 2 course. It is absolutely atrocious. The prompts for the essays are several pages long, then on top of that, you must read a novel for some of them. He's a very frustrating teacher. You have to do 5 essays. Each one requires you to read a novel. Not too bad except he's never clear on what he wants you to do. He never answers emails even though he "encourages" you to ask for help. I don't feel as though I've learned anything from him. He just criticized my work without telling me how to fix it.
