This is an AWESOME teacher!! He's super nice, teaches very clearly, he gives a review sheet and what's on the review is his tests. He's approachable and extrememly helpful and is willing to tutor for hours.He's an easy A!

beltran is the type of teacher that mdcc should have more of. He makes sure that all of his students are on the same page that he is and that nobody is left behind. which makes the majority of the class pass. he is a good teacher and cutie putooty :)

I took MAC1105 and STA2023 with him. He is the best math teacher you could ask for. He is by far the best teacher at MDCC! We gave him a plaque after class was over. He makes learning easy and he's fair. AAAA++++!!!!

I took pre-calc & trig, calc 1, and calc 2 with him, got all A's, not because he's easy but because you actually learn. Awesome professor!!!

EXELENT Professor! He is the BEST! The testa are what he teaches all you have to do is study. There is no need for extra credit you will do fine just study. :)

Incredible professor! Makes everything very clear, teaches us the easiest ways to solve the problems. Fun to visit in the office, because of all his great stories. This is the best math teacher I've ever had, his good, if you have to take cal 1 & 2. It will be better to take the miniterm, you have to stydy but the tests will be simple and his a fair grader, 90% or more of the students in my class past the class with B or A. He gives reviews before the test as well.

He is the best professor ever! He makes his lessons completely clear and understandable. I made an "A" in his class. I love the fact that he gives a few homework problems per section & it's not required, just for your own good. He's very intelligent and super sweet.

This guy is awesome!!! I dont like math but understand it so it was easier, I got an A in his class, I did not buy the book or do any homework, but I did study for the test...the reviews are perfect. Just make 2 blank copies and take one then check your answers on-line, analyze and then take the second practie...he IS off the chain

Awesome teacher! Makes stats seem like elementary math with the way he teaches... I would recommend him to anyone! This is the 2nd time i take this class and it finally makes sense! All his notes are available online once the class finishes, very flexible and understanding.

Easy class (maybe a little TOO easy). Homework and Attendance not mandatory. All of the classnotes can be downloaded from the webct. He also posts previous tests for practice. If you are not a math buff, take him. He will give you easy problems in the test, just like the ones he explains in class. Easy going, cute but dorky sense of humor.RECOMMEND

If you wish to understand math for the first time, take this prof. He is the best teacher ever. He makes Calculus sound easy (which is something really weird to say). I took the first part of Cal and I am waiting to take the second with him. He makes the easiest tests and is always there to help you understand any question. He is awesome!

Great professor! if you do not understant stats with him, then believe me no one else will be able to help u. So easy to understand that even a five year old can do it. Highly recommended!

Let me make it clear HE IS NOT AN EASY PROFESSOR, he just knows how to explain which is different. Don't think that by taking a class with him you'll get an A, that's not true you have to study and hard, however he'll be there to help you if needed and will explain things over and over again. That right there makes him the best professor ever.

One of the best professors at Dade. Works off a tablet PC and incorporates a combination of visual and auditory teaching into his classes. If you miss a class, he posts the notes online. Not an easy A, but if you pay attention in class and prepare for his test, you will succeed. Wish all the teachers at Dade incorporated his teaching style.

Professor Beltran is an awesome teacher. I am going to be a math educator and have been analyzing numerous teaching styles. This teacher makes math seem like a piece of cake. You must study though, don't expect an easy A. I have taken him for Statistics, Calculus 1, currently in Calculus 2, and am planning on Calculus 3 next semester. A+

this guy is great. i was really bad at math and i took him for mac1105 and got an A. i took him for stats also. he is really nice and makes you understand everything and welcomes questions. he never dismisses early or cancels classes. his tests are pretty much fill in the blank but you WILL understand the work so its not even difficult or a bigdeal

Let's face it Staistics is a pain and there's ALOT to remember.I wouldnt take it with any other profeesor other than Beltran he's super helpful! But this is no class to be taken lightly you have to do homework and study to pass... but he makes it easier and even gives you previous sememster exams to study from so you know what to expect!

If u wanna get an A in Math, you have to study alot, but taking it with Mr.Beltran sure helps. This guy has a natural ability to teach the subject, no matter which math. The way he uses the class notes are amazing, and he can explain something extremely complicated and make it look easy. By far, the best math teacher I have seen.

I took him for MAC 2311 and Mac 1147 he is an amazing teacher. All you have to do is the homework. He always sets out time to answer questions before and after every lesson and is very eager to help.

Absolutely amazing teacher!! He explains everything so clearly and he posts his class notes online. Also posts exams from previous semesters and a review for each test. There is an extra credit question on each exam. He drops your lowest test grade! If you need to take Statistics, take it with Beltran!!! It's easy to get an A!

Best Professor in Dade! his notes are posted online he does a video lecture. I barely went to class, never opened the book, and still had a high A. His tests can be difficult if you are new to the material. His tests aren't carbon copy of the practice exams, but they are close. He is nice and VERY helpful. Don't go to him crying if you get a B...

Prof Beltran is seriously the best prof I have ever had so far, i failed mac1105 prior to taking it with him, i thought it was such a hard subject until i took him as a professor, i would sit infront every class always answered the questions, he made me LOVE math, i got an awesome grade, he teaches so good, fun, sweet, helpful, the best. take him!!

I RECOMMEND TAKING PROF. BELTRAN! He's concerned about his students & for them to pass. I took him for Summer A & even in 6 weeks, i'm passing with an A. He puts his video notes online. He gives reviews for his tests (the reviews consist of tests from the previous semester). HW isn't mandatory & gives extra credit! BEST TEACHER FOR MAC1105!

Professor Beltran Is very nice, and helpful. He truly cares about his students passing he is a honors professor but a great one. The book is a must he gives you homwork he explains how 2 work out the problems clearly. I believe i had quizzes in this class i took in back in 2008

Incredible person and teacher. He actually suggested on the 1st day of class not to take notes. His entire class is done on a tablet on a projector and you can print notes later from his site(Angel). Aside from that you can download the actual video of the class. He really cares about his students and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND him to anyone.

This professor is hands down the best professor in miami dade college. Its unbelieveable. He makes sure you really know what he is trying to teach. He even gives you a review so you can have an idea how the exam will be. He also records everything that is done in class and puts it up on angel so if u missed anything u can go over it.

As far as Calc. 2,there are 4 test and an optional final.In my opinion, tests are extremely easy as long as you study the material and do the hw. Tests are heavily based on problems in class and handouts from angel.In general, one of the best math prof. in dade. May need time to adjust to his computer notes.Really helpful,takes time to grade, got A

He is one of the best math professors i've ever had!!! If you need to take this class, TAKE IT WITH HIM!!! You will LEARN stats!!! HE IS THE BEST!! I WOULD RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE!! TAKE HIM!!

If you need to take statistics with anyone this is the professor for you. He is not a professor, he is a God. 4 tests and optional final that replaces lowest test. I've always been awful at math and I managed to get an A in every exam and he made me interested in the material. Extremely helpful to students.

Professor Beltran is AWESOME! He really tries to make the subject easy by relating math to things we do in everyday life. He uses his old test to help students prepare for the actual test and it is really helpful. He only uses the book for optional homework. He likes to be high tech too lol. Pretty cool guy and above all, great professor.

Best math teacher in Dade. Attendance is not mandatory and he takes a video of each class for students who could not attend. All teachers should learn from him.

The class is very easy. Attendance is not mandatory since he posts every class online. IF you have to take calc 3, I do NOT recommend him. His class is super easy so there is no memorization what-so-ever, he gives you the formulas but this is a disadvantage for Calc 3!!! He also takes FOREVER to grade the tests.

Took him for Stats and had the easiest class ever. He records his classes so if you miss a class you have no excuse to fall behind. He uses a clicker which is used during in class mini quizzes that help a lot. Get an iclicker in the first week and stay the whole class. Honestly, you can't do bad in this class!

Taking him now, and can easily say this is a great professor. Class is really easy and fun (as of now I passed 3 of the 4 test, 98,99,96, so i dont plan on taking the final) Here is my secret to passing this class with flying colors 1. Get the iclicker (extra credit 8 points) 2. Dont buy the book (even if you suck at math)3 FOCUS on the review test

If you love Donna Gerken then you will love Beltran! They have almost the same teaching style. This class consist of 4 test and an optional final. I have heard horor stories about other satistic classes but this professor makes it very easy!

Professor Beltran knows exactly how to teach. He is helpful and extremely clear. If you are confused about anything he will gladly clarify. He made math more interesting and I would gladly take him again for another class.

Love this professor! Calculus II is pretty hard but he makes it easy :) I honestly enjoyed this class and learned a lot. Definitely one of the best math professors I've ever had! If you do poorly in that class it's basically ENTIRELY your fault because he gives you ever resource you'll ever need to do well.

TAKE. THIS. PROFESSOR. He is so clear and thorough, he watches his students reactions, if we look lost he'll say "you guys look scared, let me explain it again". This guy is amazing, because he records the whole class and posts it online after class. Very, very, very helpful. Makes corny jokes but that makes it fun. I wished he does summer classes but he doesn't. Hopefully I get a teacher as close to as good as him this summer.

Beltran is worth the hype. He post video of all lectures online so you can rematch a lecure as many times as you want. 5 Test. Optional Final. Test questions come mostly from class handouts BUT also come from the HW, so do the HW as he suggest. He has an amazing way of simplifying math concepts. You have to study though, or else you could fail.

First off, statistics is NOT a math class. The most math you use is the most basic algebra. I don't understand how much easier he can make this class. Records lectures, posts notes online, give formula sheet during tests, gives review which is what the test will look like, some extra credit, I mean come on that's amazing. Dr. Beltran is amazing!

He's a good math professor. He DOES care if his students understand or not. He constantly asks "does everyone get it?" He will answer all of your questions, even if they might be relatively simple. He gives study guides which are very similar in type to the tests. He's great.

All the reviews of professor Beltran could not be more accurate. I took him by chance for my repeat attempt in MAC1105. He explained everything so accurately and really showed desire in making sure everyone is on the same page. Even though it was a blended course I finally was able to pass with an A! I'm taking him for stats next!!

Luis was the best professor that I had while I was in MDC I took all my math classes with him. He's very clear about all the work and he also sends you a video of the class just Incase you miss a day or two. I recommend professor Beltran to everyone his truly the best math professor in MDC.

Professor Beltran is hands down the most AMAZING professor you can take at Dade. He is very caring of his students and goes above and beyond to make sure you get the material and lectures. Took him for MGF1106 and also for STA2023 and is probably the best professor I've taken at Dade. Very funny and cool guy makes learning the stuff easy just pay attention in class and do the study guides they are identical to the tests.

This is like a stats class for dummies. He really goes through everything step by step and post video lectures, and his notes on blackboard. You do have to put in effort for a good grade but he makes the material easy to understand unlike many.

Professor Beltran did an excellent job of explaining the hard concepts in Statistics. I have never before felt so confident in math. He explains everything in great detail, makes all the notes easily accessible, has a review before the exam and finds helpful material for at home practice. No homework. By far the best teacher to have for stats.

Professor Beltran is how all math teachers should be. He's kind, patient, and reasonable. He posts his lectures on Blackboard and also provides test reviews that are great practice for exams. If you've taken upper-level math this class should be a BREEZE! There is no reason to do poorly in STA2023 as Professor Beltran is a superb professor.

I appreciate that the lectures and handouts he gives out for each lesson are on BB in MDC. More professors at Dade should do that. You will pass as long as you do the HW... if you need additional help, go see professor Leonard at youtube for calc 1 - 3. With those two resources its tough to fail, tbh.

Def take him!! The best thing about his class is that he records and posts his lectures on BB just in case you weren't able to make it to class or want to go back & see a lecture from a week ago when you're studying for a test. He doesn't grade hw so your grade kind of depends on the four MC tests but he does give extra credit opportunities.

Luis Beltran is simply an incredible professor. His teaching style has multiple learning methods incorporated with one another; he uploads his lectures inside of the blackboard, so if you do miss class, you can easily review the class he recorded. And his study guides are EXACTLY like the test. You just have to put in the work.

your grade is comprised of 4 tests but Professor Beltran prepares you well for them. He provides a study guide for every test and tries to give partial credit even if you just attempted a problem. He wants you to succeed but you do need to study and work for it in order to do well.

This professor was extremely easy, all you have to do is wait for him to give you the study guides and practice them and you will pass with flying colors, i never showed up for one class, because attendance is taking through the app and got an A on the tests

I have always struggled with math but Beltrans lectures are easy to follow. Pros: Homework, textbook, and attendance are optional. You only have to worry about writing notes and studying. I recommend doing the optional review before the test. It helps a lot. Cons: Only grades in the grade book are the test and the extra credit points.

I took Dr. Beltran during Spring 2020, amazing is an understatement. For in-person classes, there are only 4 exams (not cumulative) and each exam had an extra credit question. Homework was optional. I didn't use the book, I used the work we did in class to study. Calculus 1 is by far my favorite and extremely easy, easier than pre-cal/trig!

Great prof! Theres only 4 tests through Blackboard.. no they arent proctored. He makes his own tests, 20 ?s & multiple choice. The lectures & reviews are related to the tests. IF you buy the book and do the given assignments it is for extra credit ONLY. Homework is optional.

Professor Beltran is very thorough. His assignments are clear and concise. If you study all of his PowerPoints and do the labs, you will do well. I'm not good at math but with lots effort, you will pass. Took him online for the Fall 2020.

Amazing professor. Breaks down everything in his lectures. Everything becomes easy. Grade is based off of four tests. Extra credit practice book work can give 5 extra points. He responds to your emails if you need help. Very caring man

Truly cares that you understand the material and willing to help. I was skeptical about an online math class but he recorded his lectures and was excellent in explaining the material. He cares how you progress in the class and very accessible. I would take him again if I needed another math class. 4 exams: 10 questions and extra credit offered.

He is the best math professor Ive ever had. I had a weak calculus base and he really helped me. Hes a great professor, take him. He gives homework just for practice you dont have to turn it in. He records the lectures even though its in person. He records what he writes on the board during class too. Take him, hes great

He was honestly the best professor I've ever had! He explains the material thoroughly and does his best to do it as if we were complete beginners. He understands if you forgot previous concepts and reviews them. His lectures are always recorded, so you can miss class and still catch up by watching the recording. Phenomenal!

BEST professor I've ever had! I did calculus II 7 years ago and I was worried that going back to school I would barely pass Calc III. He records his lectures. He clearly explains everything and briefly goes over the material from Calc I and II that we may have forgotten. HW is optional but great practice. 4 tests no final! Give that man a raise!

Luis Beltran is a great professor, and I would highly recommend anyone at MDC take him for Calculus. He records all his lectures, and each lecture centers around a well organized hand-out which he uploads to Blackboard. Exam reviews are provided, and generally match the content you will find on the test. His lectures are exceptional.

Best Calculus Professor in Miami Dade. He made Calc 3 very easy and understandable. Only wish he teaches Differential equations course too. Would not hesitate taking Professor Beltran again. Very nice and caring too.

This professor is amazing. The lectures are all recorder so student can look back and see the work. Grading consists of 4 tests. 2 non proctored online and 2 proctored, last test replaces lowest grade.

Professor Beltran is an amazing statistics professor who explains very clearly for everyone to easily understand. The 4 tests are the only things that are graded, the homework is extra credit to boost the test grade. So make sure you do the study guide before taking the tests.

There are extra credit opportunities and only 4 easy tests, of which 2 are not proctored. He's also pretty funny. You can't go wrong with him.

I love Professor Beltran. I had such a great time in his class, and I've never learned a subject as effectively as I learned statistics in his class. If you have an option, please do yourself a favor and take him. He is very sweet and cares that his class does well.

Prof Beltran is an awesome, respectable guy. Quizzes for every module, HW on pearson and a midterm and final. Calculus is hard, but Prof Beltran is determined to help you. Drops lowest quiz to help you pass. Took him fully online, but communication was consistent every week. Answers fast in Canvas. Take him!

Super nice guy. He records lectures for those who can't make it all the time. 4 exams, super easy. just make sure to study, it's a lot like the guides he gives you. There's no dumb questions to him and that's rare from a math teacher lol

I loved his class! If you struggle with math or need the credit TAKE HIS CLASS!! No HW but gives it has a practice if you want. If you happen to miss class don't worry, he's uploads all notes and videos of that class. Only four test with extra credit for doing the review and drops the lowest grade to replace it with the last highest one.

Professor Beltran is an amazing stats teacher. The class has 4 easy exams, with 2 unproctored. Engaging lectures are recorded, so you can review them anytime. For study prep, I found unstuckstudy ai and the provided study guides very helpful!

There are lots of homework assignments, small no proctored quizzes every module due every 2 weeks, very easy. Midterm and Final are proctored but they are all the same questions from the review, so basically you are all set. He replies to your email on Canvas very fast. Just do the work and you'll be fine. Trust me.

He is very kind and wants you to succeed. He has 6 tests and the lowest grade gets dropped

I am not the best at math, but I was never lost with Professor Beltran. This man knows how to teach and explains the concepts clearly. I appreciated how he would review each topic and gives a study guide (similar to the exams) before each test. There is no homework, but he gives out some extra credit. He also records and Posts all his lectures.

Great math professor he cares about his students, most professors would not care about their students and he does and he's very easy. Gives extra extension dates for assignments if you need it.
