This guy was an AMAZING professor, super easy class, he is really nice, if you have a question he'll answer it. He loves what he does and enjoys it the most, and wants to make you feel the same way he does with music. 4 essays, 2 tests, the answers are ALL in the worksheets! DO NOT MISS A CLASS or at least tell him :)

This class was extremely easy, you watch youtube videos all day and have to do 4 essays which are super easy and based on your own opinion. Mr. Gomez is such a nice and passionate teacher, I think everyone should take him. He assigns four reports which are really easy and short and a midterm and final which are a bit hard but easy if you do and study the worksheets. He is super nice and willing to help you and he is also really funny! Take his class!

Even though the subject of the class is kind of boring, Mr. Gomez makes it interesting. He's a very easy, approachable, nice teacher. He often extended the due dates to his assignments. If you need a music appreciation class, take him!

Amazing professor! He's lenient for the most part and is passionate in what he teaches. He's fun and he makes the class enjoyable. Its a great elective to take for that UCC requirement. The tests are a little bit tricky though. But the essays he assigns are all opinionated.

Great professor! Although class attendance is mandatory and counts against your grade if you are absent he provides you with extra credit concerts you could attend to help with your grade. If you attend class and keep up to date with the easy assignments that he is sure to remind you of then its a for sure easy A!

Seriously, he is the best. I had 1 midterm, 1 final, 4 reports, 1 wiki group project, 1 final report. It's very doable and I loved that I could plan ahead because of syllabus:)

And if you pay attention to some of his classes, you can actually learn a lot from classical music, and it may seem boring at first, but he makes it entertaining and fun to watch. Chill class, easy professor. He's really sweet, but to be quite honest I didn't quite learn anything new. If you must take this class as a req, take him. A few short 100-300 word essays, online midterm and final, classwork (easy) and I think one major report on Jimi Hendrix (500 words or so)

What can I say about professor Gomez? Taking MUL 1010 has by far been the best decision I've made, great professor, great class. He gives reports which are equivalent to an easy A as long as you write your own opinion. His mid term exams are based on word documents with the answers in them. He is an amazing, hilarious, well hearted man. Take him!!

Professor Gomez is by far the easiest professor I've had. I took the class online and it consisted of 3 reports (300-500 words each) one test, a final report and final exam. I can't say much about the professor himself, just that he grades things quickly, and is not tough at all. The class itself was super easy! :)

Easy A! Take him. Midterm and Final are 50q open book/notes. You can easily F4 it on the book online. Total of four reports, three of which are 300 words and one is 500 words, mostly opinion based. He is always there for you whenever you had any questions, he prefers phone method rather than e-mail which is awesome. Recommend 100%

Luis Gomez is by far the easiest professor you will ever have! He is the Santa Claus of professors! Open note quizzes, tests, extremely easy reports, or rather extremely easy everything, and just an enjoyable class! For your humanities credit, he's the only way to go. Don't look anywhere else!

Yes, this is definitely an easy class with open note quizzes/tests and only four papers. However, small complaint: he is a bit disorganized and would inform us about reports at last minute which bothered me. There's also mandatory attendance. NO textbook. Easiest online class I've ever had, but that doesn't go without saying this teacher pays extreme attention to detail. He has pre-recorded videos and class content to effectively teach you everything within the domain of this class. I even learned some cool things I didn't know before.

This was the first semester he did a hybrid (half online and half in class.) He was extremely easy to get ahold of for any questions-person cell phone number and he is responsive. Professor Gomez is suuuueper passionate about music. The only thing he asks is that you listen when he speaks and stay off of your phones/laptops. He helps you pass all of the tests and gives you a study sheet to use on the test. Very few assignments but he is strict when he does give them. The class is fun. Go and maybe you'll learn something!

Professor Gomez does everything in his power so his students can do well and pass his class with an A. I completed this course during the Summer B term so there was a lot of assignments to be done in a short amount of time. What an incredible professor, the coursework seems like a lot at first but it is very easy to get used to and he has no problem working with you. The only reason to fail is wanting to fail because he wants his students to pass, funny guy and very knowledgeable in his field.

Gomez is a good professor, he knows a lot about his field and he likes to be engaging. However, his lectures have literally nothing to do with the videos he creates but the videos are really helpful for the quizzes which are really easy. In order to pass the midterm and final though you HAVE to take good notes, he questions the tiny details.

Took Music Appreciation online. Super easy class. Lectures are interesting and the questions for his quizzes come straight there. All true and false. There is extra credit opportunity by participating in discussions. Highly recommend.

Mr. Gomez was great for my first year. He's been teaching this class for years now and it was honestly one of my favorites. One thing that he does ask for is to actually show up to class. He cares about his students, always extends due dates and etc. Quizzes & tests are open notes and online. TAKE HIM! He's hilarious.

Professor Gomez is a good guy. He puts the textbook in the format of quizzes. Be prepared to type a lot of notes because his tests are very specific. He allows you to use you notes for the quizzes and exams. As long as you take notes word for word you will get an A. This class was awesome. Mr. Gomez made it an enjoyable class but it was not like I expected. He teaches you about music as an art and what makes up music instead of genres and how to appreciate it. Towards the end of the semester there was a lot of short reaction papers that were to be done every class period

I took the hybrid course so all of the lectures for the quizzes were online. There's a lot of quizzes and you have to write reaction papers, but that doesn't matter because he's an easy grader and understands that not everyone is a music major. I loved having him as a professor. Recommend 10/10.

Funny professor who enjoys teaching and is usually very helpful when it comes to problems with grades. This is an easy A class and he definitely makes it worth while if you actually come to class.

Even though it was a class that had nothing to do with what I am studying, he made it just as interesting. Jokes around a lot and answers any questions you have (even if you call him to ask one). His passion and love for music is reflected on his lectures which makes it that much more interesting.

Great class! Two tests that are online, quizzes, and 4 reports that are roughly 400 words each. Super easy as long as you put in some effort. I highly recommend taking this course hybrid. My one downside about this class is that his tests and quizzes do not make any sense. I found the wording not in correct grammar and it was very confusing.

I took his class as a hybrid course during the summer, there was like 20 something quizzes each ten questions and four 300-500 essays, super easy class, I don't even think he looks over the essays due to the amount of students. Finished with an A.

Professor Gomez is a good guy, but at times I couldn't understand what he was saying. One annoying thing about this class is that your notes have to be detail by detail, fact by fact for the quizzes, midterm, and final. Essays(reports) are super easy, they are just your opinion. Easy A, if you have a sense of humor then you'll be fine. Go to class and sit there and do the minor in class assignments which he basically gives the answer to. You have to attend 2 concerts throughout the semester but if you do the assignments and only one concert, you'll get a good grade

Prof. Gomez is so incredible. I love him so much. Genuinely a great guy and cares so much for his students. You'll laugh the entire class. He takes attendance and gives in-class activities. HW is super light, and he is clear about grading. 100% would take the class ten times over. You'll enjoy it.

This class is probably one of the easiest classes you can take. To pass all you have to do is show up and do the work assigned. Attendance matters, for every class you miss he takes off 3% of your final grade, however, you won't want to miss because you actually have fun in it. There are 3 opinion based papers and a few in class assignments.

This class is super easy overall. you don't have to study, everything is literally provided online. BUT his class has a lot of assignments. A tremendous amount of quizzes.

He is a super nice professor. You can really tell he likes what he does. You have to attend two concerts, make a couple of essays and some in-class assignments. Most of the assignments are opinion based and he is not a tough grader. Also, he is very flexible with due dates. He genuinely cares about his students. I loved his class! :)

Extremely easy class. Attendance is mandatory and he does in class papers/questions. Overall, really easy work but there is a lot of it. Final grade is based on many quizzes, papers, and the midterm and final. All the quzzed and tests are online. Easiest professor for this class from what Ive heard.

All of his assignments are opinion-based, so as long as you explain your thoughts you'll be fine. Easy assignments, although they don't have a specific due date since he changes it constantly. The answer to the quizzes and tests are online, and you'll write the reports. The only negative/annoying thing is that we have to attend to 2 concerts for 5%

Definitely recommend this class to everyone! He drops points for everytime youre absent. No materials needed. Super easy assignments, just a lot of them, you need to attend two concerts and youll be fine if u just show up and do the work.

Professor Gomez is amazing. This was a super fun class. Attendance is definitely mandatory (its part of the grade). There are many assignments on Canvas and some in class, but they are easy and doable. The syllabus shows everything that needs to be done. Hes super sweet and is always open to helping you with anything grade/assignment related.

He's a very nice and caring teacher, you can tell that he really loves music. Do the work and show up and you will get an A. Attendance will negatively affect your grade if you miss more than like 3 days.

Lectures were enjoyable b/c he's funny but going to class was a big waste of time (that's why attendance is mandatory haha). Just go to class, do your assignments, and you'll pass. Don't be lazy & copy and paste b/c it will affect your grade. You have to WANT not to get an A this class is beyond easy & if you get anything less than an A you're lazy

He is very passionate about the course and that is the best thing you can get from a professor. He is a very understanding and caring person that truly cares about his students. I took this class online during summer. This class was the easiest class I've ever had. At one point I had a 99% A. Early on, someone made a groupchat & sent pdf modules for the weekly quizzes which had the answers to the quizzes. Theres lots of quizzes, a few short papers & discussion posts. You can do all the work for the week in a few hours.

Good Professor. Class was SO easy. in the class you will have quizzes (easy on pdfs lecture), discussions (extra-credit), exams (easy, all in pdf) and reports (based on your opinion). The class is so easy and there is a lot of extra-credit. So simple, easy A!!! Take IT!

I took this class online for Summer B and it is the easiest class I've ever taken! He offers so much credit it's impossible to get anything below an A. He has quizzes every week which are easy to look up and reports which are based on your opinion. He's also very accessible and is willing to help if you ever have any questions. Highly recommend!

Luis Gomez is one of the best professors I've ever had. He is extremely caring about his students, and I enjoyed my time in his class. If you love music, definitely take this class. Wish I would've had him for Fall instead of summer. BUT if you aren't open to listening to new things besides rap & EDM do everyone a favor and don't take this class.

I took his music class online and it was a breeze. He truly is one of the best professors that I have had. Most of the work is online in pdf format. Quizzes and exams were online. Had to write about 4 papers under 200 words and they were pretty straightforward. If he taught other classes in different subjects, I would def take him again (:

My biggest issue with this professor is that you have to call him to get in contact with him. But the class is super easy. Lots of easy quizzes with answers online, short papers, and two easy exams. You have a lot of assignments and a lot of opportunities to keep your grade up. You have to attend 2 concerts, but it's only 5% of the grade.

If i'm being honest, there's no need to show up to class to pass if you want a B or C. Though this class is an easy GPA booster so if you show up to class and do the work assigned you'll get an A. Very simple but to me personally a waste of time. You need to attend 2 music concerts on campus and some in-class reaction papers. The rest is online.

Easiest class I've ever taken so far. There are a few reports that you have to do and the class is very easy over all. The quizzes are exactly like the video lecture. You also have to go to at least two concerts but wow, the musicians are amazing. Take him and don't think twice about it.

I highly recommend taking Music with Mr. Gomez. It's an easy A and his videos are entertaining! I knew nothing about music prior to class. He won't answer emails quickly, but provides a phone number to call him outside of class, which he will always answer during school hours. Professor Luis Gomez is amazing. Very accessible and kind. His class was an online class so there is no zoom meetings. There is a bunch of quizzes, but easy multiple choice ones. There is also reports and two exams. He provides videos for one to take notes in order to ace all his work.

I took Professor Gomez for the Summer Term 2020 for MUL1010 and I absolutely loved this class. His lectures were never more than 10 minutes and they will get you laughing and interested to learn. His quizzes could be taken up to three times and the midterm + final up to two. Just take notes and pay attention, his work is super reasonable.

I had him for Summer B, so there were a lot of quizzes & papers due each week, but the papers were so fun to write that I completely forgot they were assignments! His lectures are styled into rlly fun & interesting videos. You can tell he has a great passion for music and it inspires you.

This class was cake. Theres a bunch of small quizzes taken word for word from his documents so just use the find on page feature. He seemed chill but overall, he never held zoom meetings. This class is atrociously easy. It is very easy to get over a 100% through the extra credit, which takes maybe 5 minutes 2-3 times a month for pretests. Take it online for sure, and google the transcripts for the videos instead of trying to memorize the content, because quiz questions are highly specific. Essays are opinion based.

I took this class during summer B and I really enjoyed it! The papers are not bad, I found them fun. It is not like writing papers for other classes. There were a lot of quizzes but they are straightforward. Watch the lectures and you shall be fine!

I took this class online. The online lectures were very fun and interesting and in general the class was an easy A. Memorizing everything for the tests would be too difficult, but if you know how to take a test, you will do fine. You can tell that the professor puts in the effort to make the class as engaging as possible.

Professor Gomez is a great teacher. He really cares about his students and tries to help them all pass. The class is really easy either way. You have to try to fail honestly. Great guy. Class is easy and a great choice to knock out Humanities group one credit. Grade is composed of 40% quizzes, 30% reports, 25% exams, and 5% discussions. He has a lot of quizzes but they are simple. He is not very strict when it comes to grading reports. He is replies quickly and wants to help you. It's an easy A. 10/10 Strongly recommend

Great easy A class, especially if you like music. There are a lot of short quizzes but they're all open-note and super easy. You won't need it, but he offers a lot of extra credit, too. For the reports, all you really have to do is hit the word count and you'll get a perfect score. He's incredibly kind as well and very clearly loves his job.

I took this professor online for Summer B and it is by far the easiest class ever. His modules on the topics you'll be learning are super fun to watch. Also, if you have any questions you wish to ask him, he is very quick with his responses. The quizzes and assignments are pretty easy to do. Everything you need to know is on the modules. Super easy

This was perhaps the easiest class I have taken at FIU, and I took it so I could hit a credit quota for a scholarship. The goofy lectures have the professor displayed as this ungodly animated avatar which is equally unsettling and funny. The essays are VERY short (3x 300 words, 1x 500 words) and the quizzes are open notes and are a breeze.

Mr. Gomez is honestly so amazing. Took him for Summer B and honestly class is super easy, as well as all the assessments. Only got an A- because I was lazy and didn't do every single simple assignment. Super easy A regardless

Professor Gomez was amazing throughout this Summer B course. He has tons of lectures available to watch that have online transcripts to help you pass tests/exams. There are so many extra credit opportunities that I suggest you do them all. I ended the class with a 104.54%! The work is a lot but it's simple. Take his class for an easy A.

Best Music professor at FIU. The grading criteria are very clear and simple, he isn't a harsh grader and gives you more than enough time to complete the assignments for the semester. He is hilarious during lectures and an easygoing person, if you ask for an extension he is willing to help you, additionally, he cares about his students' opinions.

The best teacher to take for MUL 1010 if you need a Humanities elective take it!! He is amazing, and an easy grader and will make you appreciate music and be interested in it, even if you are not a musician.

Professor Gomez's class was very easy. He was very respectful. As long as you did well on all your OPEN-NOTES quizzes and exams and submitted everything you needed to you'll likely get an A. My one complaint was that what we did in class had nothing to do with what the exams were on. He will extend deadlines for you so don't worry too much.

Mr. Gomez has amazing patience with every student. I think students try to take advantage of his kindness. Attendance is not mandatory, but needed if you want to pass the final project. Also there's assignments you can only submit during class (online class), not worth many points, but again, the information in the class is going to help you.

You honestly have to put more effort to fail than to pass. He is very kind and helpful with assignments. He accepts late work until the end of the semester. There is no reason why anyone should get anything lower than a B in his class.

Easiest class ever. Class consisted of multiple quizzes due every week, 2 exams, and 4 reports. Quizzes were based on lecture videos he made, which I honestly found really creative to watch. And the reports were opinion-based and were really short. He accused half my class of using ChatGPT to write the last report, so that was kind of weird.

He's pretty lenient. I only took this because my advisor encouraged me to. This class is based around BandLab and the 300 word reports. The reports have to be opinionated, but it's easy to get a 100 on them. He doesn't take attendance on paper, but he does an in-class assignment every week. You also have to do around 3-4 quizzes every week.

This professor was amazing, you have time to complete the canvas assignments and you will work on producing music through the semester in an online website which was very fun. The class was short and he will help with anything you may need.

Took this class online in Summer A, the lectures were reliable when taking the Exams and quizzes. BEST PART was all discussions and reports were based on YOUR OWN OPINION on the music clip he selected. The only thing "bad" about the quizzes was the questions being too wordy, but he does give a lot of time for the quizzes. SIMPLE COURSE!

MUL1010 online is a very easy course, and Prof. Gomez somehow made it an even easier class to pass. He assigns short 6-10 minute videos of him lecturing, and then gives you quizzes that are based (almost entirely word-for-word) on what he said in those videos. It is impossible to fail this course, and if you have trouble, he answers emails fast.

It's one of the easiest classes I have taken in this university. You really have to try to fail. If you just do the quizzes he assigns over the week and the once in a while opinion based report it's a guaranteed A. And you also have to turn in things you do in class but he walks you step by step on how to do them so it's not that big of an issue.

Super easy class just do the work. The professor is silly and goofy, and so are the assignments. He lets you out hours earlier as well. Just show up and you'll be fine.

This class is super fun, the professor is kind and understanding. You can tell that he cares about his students, While attendance isn't mandatory, this is where he does his demos for class, so if your out you can't complete the classwork for the day. I had this professor for my very first semester at FIU. His class was entertaining and I would always look forward to his homework assignments. His class consisted of doing short flip grid video recordings for class activities and sometimes assignments. There were also a few homework assignments and maybe one group activity. AMAZING professor!!!!

I took Professor Gomez during the 6-week summer semester. First two weeks were rough because he taught us the basics of creating movie trailers on Capcut and another app to make actual music beats to accompany the trailer. He assigns weekly quizzes that were based word to word from his videos. The class was an easy A as just follow his instructions

Professor Luiz was an amazing music professor, he takes the entire class time to explain in detail the homework assignments so you wouldn't be able to forget anything. As for the homework and quizzes they are open notes canvas assignments so they are easy. I recomend him

I took his Monday 1hr and 15 min class but it honestly not 1 minute was boring. He takes is work very seriously and he is a clear grader. You have small quizzes based on videos, discussions for extra credit and videos, and essay which were very manageable and easy!

Attendance is "mandatory" but I stopped going halfway through the semester because people would send the codes for the class attendance assignments in a group chat. I do recommend going in the beginning since everything is very attendance based and there is a relatively easy assignment due every class and instructions are explained in person

This class was hard to adapt to in the beginning. Being a summer course, we learned a lot in a short period of time but it was fun. We made videos and soundtracks which made me feel like a DJ. You have online videos and quizzes that teach about instruments and a lecture of composers and some mini essays on topics. Professor was hilarious and cares!

The class is fun, I learnt how to use cap cut and band lab. Useful if you want to make your own music videos or edit anything. I had an 8am lecture and it was pretty fun. I got an A- because I missed an assignment but it is an easy A+.

The class has easy assignments like online quizzes and BandLab projects, but the professor can be very particular. Follow instructions closely and use tools like unstuckstudy AI to prepare for tricky exams. Overall, an engaging intro music course.

Truly loves his job and is passionate about music. He is very understanding and wants to work to see the student succeed. Certain quiz questions can be worded a little weird but are easy and come verbatim from his lecture (take notes and you'll be fine.) If a question's accidentally marked wrong he'll fix it no questions asked; very communicative!

took over spring semester and easiest class ever. most lectures are recorded online which you do 2-4 quizzes on with unlimited attempts. he even let us take our tests from home online. he require fiu mobile login but it doesn't affect ur grade. super cool and fun prof very passionate about music.

Amazing professor who cares deeply about music and makes the class incredibly interactive. Takes your opinion into account and is very helpful. There are some assignments but they are easy and you will have lots and LOTS of time to do it. There are few required reports but incredibly short and simple. Would 100% take if I needed to do music.

Took it online, lots of quizzes and a few papers/reports here and there but nothing too crazy. Lotssss of extra credit, ended with a 105%. Easy class. Would take again. I had to take a lot of notes from the given lecture videos, but it was worth it when it came to the quizzes and exams.

Easy A, could get the coursework done in a few weeks if you wanted. Only quizzes, a few essays 500 or less words, and he teaches you how to use BandLab and CapCut.

The class was very easy! He gave a ton of extra credits during lectures and on his assignments. While attendance was mandatory, he mostly goes over the next assignments that are due. He gives a ton of time to do his assignments and they're very easy. The discussions posts are all option based and they're very straightforward. He's also very nice!!

Easiest class for your UCC requirements, this professor makes everything super easy, you can finish all the assignments at once, super easy grader, a lot of quizzes but you get through them quick, also not strict on deadlines which is very good.

He gave around 3-5 assignments a week, but they're 10-question quizzes that are super easy. Lots of extra credit opportunities, and he only gave two "big" assignments that were worth like half ur grade, but other than that, super chill guy, def recommend.

I honestly loved this class, it was my first college class ever. I took it over the summer so we had about 10-15 assignments weekly but they were all very easy. Most of them were 10 question quizzes. He is a very nice professor and is not strict about deadlines which is nice. Honestly a cool guy, would definitely recommend this class to everyone!

Mr. Gomez was a very nice person and he is very passionate about music. He would always have activities and assignments to do in class for attendance credit. Also he let us out early every single class after he accomplished his teaching agenda. His assignments mostly consist of quizzes and discussion posts which are very easy. An easy A class.

It was a super chill class :) If you're going to be taking it, definitely choose this professor. As long as you stay on top of your assignments, you will get an A no matter what.

Professor Gomez for Music Literature was excellent. He made sure we clearly understood each concept. The class was very easy, as long as you completed all the assigned work.

Easy class as long as you show up to class. Online classwork was pretty simple and straightforward. Attendance wasn't mandatory but did some assignments that could only been done if present in class. Recommend taking him.

While I am not a music major and only took this class for my UCC requirement, Professor Gomez made the class fun and engaging for the students. He is very funny and cares about the students, and knows a lot about the many different aspects of music. As long as you do the quizzes and few reports in the class, you'll do fine.

I personally had no problems with this prof he literally gave me 100% on everything I ended his class with 107%. Some ppl had a rly difficult time with him, they always argued with him bc he'd accused them of ai n was mean but i never had a problem and it's like i didn't even have the class bc id do all the assignments in one day for the month
