1st day of class seems like he is good at what he does, he does seem to know his subject matter

This professor gives a quiz every week, but they are not difficult. He is very helpful and really wants you to pass and do well. So, he will do what he can to give you a better grade.

Excellent professor, I wish all my professors were like him. He is easy going and understands that you have a life. Tests are online and easy. He assigns one fun group project, you have to put work on it but is not that hard. It is clear that he loves what he does. I would definitely take him again!

Montenegro is a class act. He cares for his students and puts them in a position to succeed in the classroom. Big projects include conducting a focus group, and producing a survey. If done right, you will enjoy and learn a tremendous amount from these two assignments. Would like to take him again if given the opportunity.

The class consists of an IRB training, Focus Group Project, a Survey Presentation & 2 online test; no big papers/scary midterms. Seems difficult but is actually super straight-forward and easy! Professor Montenegro is an amazing professor. He engages with the students in every lecture. He gives plenty of opportunities to improve your grade, and is very lenient when it comes to datelines. There's a quiz after every lecture, but you have a week to complete it. 2 exams and 2 projects, however; they are fairly easy if you do them on time.

I strongly recommend Professor Montenegro. We have quizzes every week but if you have the book you'll be sure to pass. 1 group project and 1 individual project. Very funny and wants to make sure everyone understands the material.

Best Professor EVER! He knows the material can be a little hard to swallow, but he makes it fun. He helps you actually learn the material and makes the class fun. There are usually 2 weekly quizzes, but they're super easy. If you attend class you only have to do one, if you miss you do both. 2 project (one in a group, one solo) super easy.

If you need to take Marketing Research take it with Montenegro in person. He's an amazing professor. The class over all is kind of boring, but that is because the material isn't very interesting. He has a tendency to go through the PowerPoint slides a little too quickly but that may be because of the Cuban coffee he brings to his morning class.

He's actually great, one of the nicest professors I've had at FIU. The only thing is DONT WAIT TILL THE LAST MINUTE TO DO THE PROJECTS. You only have two and they're not hard to completed you just need to gather the right information which can be time consuming.

Easiest class I have taken in FIU PLEAS TAKE HIM! Class is made up of online quizzes and tests (super easy), group project (very understanding when it comes to people not doing their part), and a final. You will not find a better professor to take this class with I would definitely take him again.

He is a great professor, he gave us homework online. The practice quiz is very intense and the quiz was pretty easy. He gave us for a group project survey and we got all easy As.

Prof. Montenegro is very direct with feedback and what he asks, and likes things to be to the point! He is very chill about it though, and skips the fluff without being dramatic about it. Good professor if you are trying to take a course where your expectation is do the work - and youll pass.

Three words. Take. His. Class! Although you will have a number of short assignments to do, he gives you a week to complete them and many chances to complete it, and theres only 2 tests. He cares about his students and is very accessible inside and outside his class. Just do the assignments well and attend class regularly and you should be fine.

The tests are always easy when you can find the answer from textbook. For the final exam, he will give you tips and areas to find the answers first, then just learn from slides and books to go! No stress

Amazing professor and just generally an awesome person

Professor Montenegro is a great professional and one can see that in class. There are times when he doesn't take the time to explain things, or believes that everyone knows everything.

He talks fast that is true. I couldn't keep up with them when we had class. He is still so nice and understanding. He goes above and beyond for you to get the real world experience. I struggled in this course because of the material but I made it work. He also brings us coffee before class starts! It's free coffee! Please take him. You learn a lot

I took SPC 2608 in fall of 2021 with Professor Luis Montenegro. It was a delight, great guy, interesting material, applicable content, what else could you ask for. Professor Montenegro is very understanding and will give you extra time if needed. The Professor genuinely enjoys teaching and makes learning a joy. Great guy and great experience. 10/10

I would take luis 100 times, prepare to work but he explain pretty good and easy to understand. Best part coffee in the mornings!

It was one of the nest classes I had. The professor knows what he is talking about. Uses real life examples. Also, incorporates practical assignments throughout his course. I got to learn beyond just the research process, he included tips on conducting your own business as well. Class was heavy in information but also fun. I recommend!

One of the best professors I've had. Lectures were long but that was expected for a 6 week class, and he did a good job of making the material relatable and using real life scenarios. Would 100% take him again

Class is very easy, you just have to do the assignments which aren't hard at all. Lectures could be boring but that is just because of the subject. For the group's final project be sure to make your survey as soon as possible to release it asap and so you can make the required number of respondents.

This professor was so awesome! He would being coladas to class every morning. Although the material may not be super enjoyable, he really tries to make the class entertaining. We do have a midterm and final but they are both taken at home, as well as a final group project. Loved this professor!

Class participation is graded, but he's a little mean and makes you feel embarrassed for giving a wrong answer. Not my favorite teaching style. Attendance also big part of grade. One large group project that you work on throughout semester. Extremely boring material in class. Only took bc it was required.

Professor Montenegro is a great teacher! This course consisted of quizzes,2 test on presentations he does during class,an online certification course and a group project and presenting the data at the end of the semester. He like's bringing cuban coffee for the class which was really needed especially when I took him-early in the morning!

Professor Montenegro has been propbably my best experience with a professor in college. His lectures are not boring and he goes over the important things of the course. He answers emails promptly and is good with communication after class if you need him. He really wants his students to do well and cares that they get a good grade.

Professor Montenegro made the class fun even though the subject of research is extremely boring! Always brings coffee for the class, makes jokes, but most importantly he will work with you and allow you to make up late assignments so long as you communicate with him.

He is not only a great teacher but a great human. He cares for his students and wants us to enjoy class. I had him for 3 1/2 hours on Fridays and it was NEVER dreadful. If you take him pay attention and try to attend all the classes it is important. If you ask, he will help you but meet him halfway and do your part. Definitely take him!

Despite the boring class material, he made it very bearable through participation and funny comments. 2 tests and chapter quizzes that were easy as long as you read the ppts/txtbook, and 1 group project that's based on a survey you make w/ your group; you present the survey at the end of semester. Overall, he's one of my favs and def recommend!

Had a great experience with Professor Montenegro. He is very knowledgeable and explained everything well during his lectures. If you pay attention in class and take time to do your work, you will most definitely pass with him as the Professor. I definitely recommend taking him.

Took him for Summer A. You will be required to complete an online course and you're going to be creating a survey that will need to be done ahead of time. Don't forget the PowerPoint on the results you obtained from that survey too! Overall, he was a chill dude and like someone mentioned, he makes his lectures not as boring but still informative.

Professor Montenegro is one of my favorite professors at FIU. He is passionate and very knowledgeable about research, it shows in his lectures. The material could be boring but he makes it fun. He is funny and always brings coffee to us every class. Be sure to pay attention to criteria for the final presentation. Genuinely cares about students!

This professor is the best, very funny too. I took this course in person and we had very little homework or even just work in general. Two easy group projects and easy quizzes throughout the semester. There were a few days where he took attendance but generally I would say it wasn't mandatory.
