Oh my God! he is so cool. The class is challenging, but he makes it easy to understand. Labs are a piece of cake. They are easy if you study. Tests were a bit hard for me but easy for others, it depends on how you study, drops one lecture test and no drops on the labs, no extra credit given on anything.

Microbiology is not an easy class. However, Mr. Rodriguez helps you understand the material with notes from his syllabus, and by visual examples that he enjoys presenting. Study his notes and if he asks the same question more than once, that means it will for sure be on the test. Whenever you have a question, he's always willing to help you out.

WOW! This professor amazes me everytime I see him! He is incredibly intelligent, patient, comical and kind! He will listen and answer any question you may have. I've learned so much and will never view microbes the same. He is a perfect role model for all professors in BIOL. As a bonus, he is very easy on the eyes! ;) Highly recommended!

This is a very time consuming class. You will spend hours studying for a test and may still be unhappy with the grade. His tests are multiple choice and tricky.On 1 test we only had 2 A's because he had not gone over the material for 5 of the q's, no one had a chance. I made an A in the class, but litterally had no life for the semester. Good luck!

I highly recommend this Professor! One of the Best at SAC! Great teaching style..he was clear, direct and made the information fun & interesting. He expects you to fully learn the information so take the time to read the chapters, study your lecture notes and you should do well on his tests. He also will drop one of your lowest test grades.

Excellent professor for a difficult class. I got a B in the class. Lots of material for 1 semester. Study the course notes, though the power point was also very helpful. Must attend class so you dont fall behind. Good at giving overall averages after every test taken. Also drops 1 low lecture test. Definitely would recommend him over others.

Hey was very cool and had a cute sense of humor. Printing his powerpoints from PALS helped me know what to look for in the textbook. His Labs are always fun and easy test grades. Be ready for a lot of memorization on the last 2 lecture tests.

Professor was very helpful throughout course, and loved his powerpoint and course notes. Very clean and precise. Most of exam came directly from all his notes and book was rarel used. Studying is a must to pass. Prof Rodriguez makes the class fun and I would definately take him for another course.

I took Professor Rodriguez's Micro class in the summer session 2 & was impressed. He is an amazing professor- you have to study but an A is attainable as long as you work.I'm now in my first semester of my health professions program & I feel very equipped having had Mr. Rodriguez as an instructor. Do not be late to class! Show maturity and pay attention, attend class and study the online course notes. No need to buy text. This is not an easy A class, you need to study because a last minute cram session won't work. If you pay attention, take notes, regularly study all the material available, then you will make an A/B.

I do not recoment him for science major. Heard he was good for the allied health students. but his exams for the sicence majors were difficult and he crams too much into ove test. the third exam was over 7 chapters and his reviews dont help at all! I do not recoment him for majors.

This is an EXTREMELY difficult course. Mr. Rodriguez is very smart and I can tell he is passionate about Microbiology! It's nice to have a teacher who truly loves what he does. Tests are difficult and he likes to cram several chapters into one. Reviews could be more informative. In any event, I would definitely take another class taught by him!

I suck at science but he actually explains the material in a way you can understand it and he keeps the class interesting. You don't need the book because he has lecture notes and power-points available to you.

I loved this professor. Micro was my last prerequisite I needed for the nursing program, and was so afraid, but professor Rod made me love it and I wish it wouldn't have ended! I am pre-nursing student and decided to take this class. Rodriguez is a great teacher, and it is possible to get an A. However, attendance, reading, and studying are required to achieve a good grade. I took the advice of another review and used a recorder. I would highly recommend. If you would like to be prepared for professional school, take him.

Professor Rodriguez knows microbiology and beyond that! His lectures are easy to understand but you must study at home to pass the test. Sure, he makes the lectures sound simple, but the test covers his power points and notes. Also the labs is simple as long as you study for the test! The only grades he takes are tests!

This isn't an easy A, I had to work really hard to get the grade I received. If you have to take micro, do yourself a favor and take Mr. Rodriguez!

Great professor. Extremely knowledgeable in his field. Had five lecture exams, three lab exams, and the final. Every lecture was enjoyable and explained well enough to comprehend before the meetings ended. He held review sessions before every exam and all of his lecture slides and lab materials were available on canvas.

He is a very good professor, lectures well and easy to listen to. The only problem is his tests are not much like his reviews. He has 5 tests and one final i believe AND THATS IT. He does drop one but if you bomb one test it can hurt you. No extra credit. Dont skip or youll fall behind. Ps he says you need the books and you don't. Waste of my money

Grade is pretty much all tests - 3 lab, 5 lecture, 1 final. NOTE: ACE the labs and lecture tests 1-3. You will need this as a buffer because lecture tests 4-5 and the final are heavy - LOTS of rote memorization on details about bacterias (#4) and diseases (#5 & final). You'll thoroughly learn about 100 diseases, half that at minimum for bacteria.

Professor Rodriquez is an excellent professor. You for sure need to attend Lab or you will have no idea how to do certain procedures. There are 5 lecture test & 3 lab tests. The 3rd lab test is about your unknown specimen that you will be working on all semester by yourself or with a partner. You will need to buy the Lab manual

Awesome professor who has been teaching Microbiology for decades and is very knowledgeable. Easy to understand lectures and professor provides lecture notes that outline exactly what is on the exams. If you show up, study, and write flashcards, you will do fine. Offers a review before each exam and is always open to questions and really cares.

If you study you will pass the class! The text books arent really necessary, only used twice. But good pictures and visuals of bacteria.

I've never met a professor that excels at incorporating different learning styles into his lessons as much as him. From taking the time to draw out the different shapes of each bacteria to clearly repeating and eloquently articulating its different functions, I'm sure you'll have absolutely no problem learning in this class. This was the most challenging course I've taken but I really enjoyed coming to class. The lab was actually fun! DO NOT MISS CLASS! He gives 5 percent on top of your final overall average for attendance! Keep up on studying or you'll get behind. One of the best professors I've ever had! He is a hilarious person and very relatable. He is a very caring teacher and he shows it. This course was slightly hard for me and I even failed (F) my first test BUT with reading I got better. Towards the end you MUST read into the lab manual for your unknowns but as far as lecture goes he used powerpoint

Microbiology is a tough subject. I took this class with a different professor and had to drop it because I was not getting it. Professor Rodriguez was great at explaining things to me so that it made sense. He was always available to go over things I was not getting in the class. Mixed feelings about prof Rodriguez, great teacher, but 6 tests in a single semester is a bit much. He at least dropped one but it felt as if the tests were so close to one another. Very helpful in one on one learning. Just very test heavy and note heavy.

He's such a good teacher! To pass his tests, all you have to do is study everything is in his lecture slides. The reviews he has in his files really helped a lot. If you do bad in this class, then you don't have very good study tactics because he's not a bad teacher. I recommend making flash cards.

Amazing class! He's very clear from the beginning that test are a big part of your grade. The class is difficult and you must study on your own time to do well in this course. He also drops the lowest test grade at the end of the semester. For exams he gives us reviews and zoom meetings to review for the exam.

Professor Rodriguez is a fantastic instructor to have for Microbiology. Get ready to work and be treated like the college student you are! He does not water things down but he makes class fun. Labs are SO fun! Wish I could have him for more classes.

This professor was amazing & so nice. The way he taught made me more interested in micro. He showed us how microbiology affects all of us daily. 3 lab exams, 5 lecture exams, and a few bonus assignments. Prepare yourself for the lect 5 exam, it was the biggest exam. Each lecture exam was based on 3 chapters. Use the course notes & slides to study!

This professor is not only very knowledgeable, but the pace of the course is very manageable. He has many resources if you find the coursework challenging, but through the lectures, he is very thorough and the expectations of this class are very feasible. Outstanding Professor!

Professor Rodriguez has been the best professor I've ever had. He made challenging material easy to understand. I never thought I'd look forward to an 8 a.m. class twice a week, but I found myself excited to attend and actually grasp concepts that once felt impossible to learn.
