Did a great job for being the first to tackle PSY of Religion. Tests are very difficult so make sure you take a lot of notes and go to class. Sarcasm is his way of being friendly.

Not a bad class. The first paper is rough because you dont really know what he is looking for and he is a pretty tough grader. Exams arent too bad, just know everything in your notes. Interesting class. Prof. G is very good at playing devils advocate, which is perfect for this class.

Prof Galen is very smart, sarcastic and keeps class interesting for the most part. Pop quizzes on reading are easy (do the reading!) and tests aren't bad (if you read the books). Papers are a little difficult but he gives you suggestions for the re-writes and helps you out.

This was usually a great class for the subject matter. The students seemed to be asleep most of the time. Prof. G presented the material well and kept the floor open to various ideas for those who took the opprotunity. The grading was on par with the individual's participation. Class filled fast, please only take this class if you can stick it out.

Prof. Galen is a good professor. He approaches usually uncomfortable subject matter with a pretty light mood. He cracks jokes but still doesn't make you uncomfortable. There were only 2 tests (mid-term and final) and the final was not cumulative. He does give pop quizzes but they aren't too hard. He's cute in a weird way.

Great prof. I can see how this class would have been really uncomfortable with the wrong type of person teaching it, but he kept it interesting and he's not so bad on the eyes. I wouldn't say "hot" in the sense that some of the guys in the class were hot, but he is attractive in his own way

Galen knows what he is talking about. He's sarcastic and likes to joke, but I never found him offensive. His quizzes force you to show up to class and read the material on time. His tests are well written and if you studied and attended class are fair and not too difficult. Maybe not the best for super conservative types but otherwise a great prof.

Prof. G is an amazing teacher; he's funny, sarcastic, intelligent, and fair. If you show up and pay attention you'll do fine. Plus, he's really cute in his own nerdy way.

Galen is a complete jerk and a hypocrite to boot, baut at least he's easy on the eyes. (sorry guys, there's just no upside for you). the exams are not dificult, and the class does get a bit more tolerable with time. If you're truly good at psychology, you'll understand him for what he IS. He genuinely wants you to succeed, will do what it TAKES to get you to understand, is FUNNY, nice, SMART, & doesn't have unattainable expectations. BEST professor I've had in 4 years. It's your loss to misread him. Expect to learn usable, valuable, unforgettable information.

He was a really nice guy and a good prof. Very funny once you got used to his sense of humor. However, the paper was ridiculously involved. It was the hardest paper I have ever had to write in my life. The tests are easy enough though if you actually go to class and study a little bit.

Very interesting class! Galen is really funny in a dry and sarcastic way. Grade is based on 2 tests, pop quizzes, and a paper. The paper was tough, but overall the class wasn't that difficult. It is necessary to have an open mind in this class if you are going to enjoy it. I loved the class and I loved "Luke Dawg". :)

Expect to cover a lot of ground quickly, this man is an encyclopedia of all studies in his field. But he is incredibly funny, expect to laugh every day. Some people don't enjoy his class, but it's because of the subject's touchiness, not the prof himself. Lots of videos in class too. Recommend class for everyone, you'll learn a lot.

He is a quirky guy, but a good teacher. He moves through the slides quickly so print them before class. Read the book before class b/c he often gives quizes over the topic. There is only a midterm and final plus the quizes so you need to do good on them.Overall he is a good teacher and I suggest taking this class, the topic is at least interesting!

Funny guy, great jokes, extremely smart, gives a great lecture. End part of the course becomes all about numbers; don't let it trip you up and pay attention to the stats. No coverage of dialectical therapy whatsoever. He's had actual clinical experience, so he's got good stories and some foundation in actual counseling practice.

For this class, I was a little nervous as to the quality of my professor. Galen was objective, stating things as fact rather than moral issues. I was very grateful he did not approach the material as "anything goes!" but at the same time would have liked SOME morality brought to the subject. I would recommend this professor.

Professor Galen is so adorable! He always cracks little jokes in class and he has such a unique humor. His jokes are like seriously so random and funny. I quoted him on my twitter like 100 times through the semester. Be prepared to take notes in class and for quizzes about every 3 classes. It is a little challenging and confusing, but worth it.

Luke is a great professor. He covers a lot of material in a very short amount of time so make sure you go to class. Professor Galen is one of the most helpful professors I have ever had. He has gone the extra mile to accommodate and help me through his classes. They are super tough courses, but if you go to his office hours he is more than willing to help and has helped me tremendously. Very funny too.

Randomly gives 10 pop quizzes, so attendance is important. I was skeptical about this course at first, but it turned out to be my favorite class this semester. He makes the material VERY interesting. Loved Galen. I am taking him again next year. He is hilarious but has a dry and sarcastic sense of humor. Don't be confused about what this class will be teaching however, there is no cool, off the wall therapies. You go through the major waves of therapy starting with Freud. You discuss techniques, theories, and people. Take him.

Professor Galen is very straightforward in lecture. He gets the point across well and gives you all the info you will need on tests. Weekly quizzes are almost the only assignments given other than the midterm and final. Make sure to do the reading and put in the effort for quizzes and your work will show.

I honestly think his lectures were pretty interesting because it's not just him talking the whole time. He shows a lot of videos that you probably already watched if you took AP Psych in high school but he's a pretty funny guy and makes the content as interesting as it can get. I have had Dr. Galen for multiple classes and he is a very funny and nice guy. His class and powerpoint structure is very confusing and tests are hard. There are few grades and weekly quizzes. Overall though, he has a lot of knowledge about the field and teaches counseling theories and techniques really well and I learned a lot.

Galen's class is lecture-heavy, but we watch a lot of videos that help break them up so it's not as bad. His tests are worded a difficultly, so make sure that you study for the exams - you're not graded by a whole lot in this class but he drops your lowest 2 quiz scores. Attendance isn't mandatory but you won't do well if you don't attend.

Prof Luke Galen is an amazing professor. He seems like he loves to teach psych. He's amazing with questions so don't feel intimidated! We had quizzes every Thursday but they were related to the material from the recent lecture and they only 5 questions each time so it was super simple. No homework, only quizzes and he's super helpful with info!

Galen is one of the best professors I've had, lots of dad jokes that keep you engaged. The Content is very easy to understand, I never read the book and did fine. His Exams are word for word from most of his lectures. Its easy, to study for and so much of the quizzes are implied, even if you didn't go to class you can guess and be correct!

Prof Galen is a pretty cool guy. Hes witty and sarcastic in the best way. He lectures all class, but includes interesting and relevant videos which apply to the material. in this class there is no homework, but a pop quiz once a week to make sure you show up, but they are only 5 questions long. Professor is a humorous man with so much wisdom. His presentation slides are always interesting and his ability to explain concepts was phenomenal. Meeting him during office hours is really beneficial and you'll realize even more just how much more amazing he can get. Highly recommend taking his class. He became my favorite professor.

If you go to class and take notes, you should be fine. Weekly quizzes about the reading (kinda important but can survive without) and the lecture. Quizzes are how you can study for the exams. Pretty funny, nice guy.

Prof Galen's PSY101 class is engaging and informative. The lectures are fun, and he makes the material easy to grasp. Regularly attend classes, use unstuck study for study prep, and you'll do well.

I recommend taking Galen's course. He does has high expectations, and there are short pop quizzes each week. No assignments/homework so not much buffer for grades, it's really only the quizzes, midterm, and final. He definitely knows his content and answers questions well. I think Dr. Galen gets a bad rap because people want to slide through the course without doing any work. If you go to class and are engaged this class is completely feasible. If students want to they can learn so much from him and his experiences. He also has funny lectures and tries to make things understandable using examples. I loved this class!

I've seen a lot of bad rep for Professor Galen on this class. I think most of it comes from the expectation of an easy pass class, but you have to do the work in this class like any other class especially 400 level course. Professor Galen provides good feedback on assignments, is accessible for extra help, and his lectures are entertaining.

I believe Professor Galen was amazing. He clearly knew what he was talking about in lecture and was very engaging with his students when he does his lectures. He also includes fun videos and concepts to better understand the material. I believe that this class is a bit harder for a 101 but overall worth it. Just be aware of his weekly quizzes!
