Great professor! Dr. Hopkins is very engaging and interesting. I wish he would teach more classes!
Favorite professor at FSU. Very direct with interesting lectures. I actually enjoyed participating in class discussions.
Dr. Hopkins is awesome, plain and simple. I wish every other teacher showed the same passion that he shows every class. Brings an energy to the classroom and really brings the material to life. Bonus: he gives a freebie exam the third week of class that is very manageable.
Dr. Hopkins is not only an excellent professor, but also a very nice person. He's very knowledgeable and loves his subject. I enjoy his lectures a lot and always look forward to his class. The material is always interesting and easy to understand. Exams are scenario-based. I love marketing now!
He by far has the most interesting lectures of any teacher at Florida State. He is such a cool guy and makes a topic that can be boring super interesting. His videos are hilarious and he often lets you out a little early.
Dr. Hopkins is amazing! He cares about the students and does a great job preparing us for a career in marketing. It doesn't hurt that he's really cute!
Dr. Hopkins is by far the best professor I have had so far during my academic career. I could go on and on about how wonderful my experience in his class has been, but the thing that stood out the most is how much he is personally interested in the success of students after college.
Dr. Hopkins is hands down the best professor I have had at Florida State. He is helpful, understanding, and really cares about his students. If you try, he will notice and will help you 100%. Definitely recommend him for any class he teaches.
Hopkins' lectures are GREAT. He does take attendance at the end of most classes and I would actually look forward to going to his class every day and he keeps you interested for the whole lecture. There are 4 exams, 2 research participation, and a marketing simulation grade. As long as you go to class and pay attention to examples, you'll do great!
Hopkins made me consider being a marketing major.. Yeah he was that good.. His lectures are hilarious and his accent is too cute. He loves relating to the students even if it's a lecture of 200+. The only warning I have is regarding the simulation. START OFF STRONG. Ask for help early on and work in teams for each decision.
Dr. Hopkins is a fantastic guy. He remembers who you are out of 200+ students and will ask how you are doing by name. By far my favorite professor at FSU. TAKE THIS CLASS!
best professor i've had at FSU! loved attending his classes although they were not mandatory. tests were straightforward, based of lectures and powerpoint examples. amazing guy and will help you if you need it. TAKE HIM
Really tough grader. Exams are 30 questions so you get 2 wrong and you're already at a B. There is not enough material given in class to prepare you for how difficult the exams are. He admits he tries to trick you on exam questions. Only grades in class are exams.
Attend class and pay attention and you will get an A. He cares about his students and wants to see you succeed. He is very understanding and always available for help. One of my favorite professors at FSU.
Prof Hopkins has to be one of the most knowledgeable professors on our campus. MAKE SURE YOU DO WELL ON THE SIMULATION. I went from an A- to a B- in this class because I messed up on the simulation. Study the direct power points a week before the exam in depth and you will be fine, make sure you use critical thinking and it will be very east.
Hands down my favorite professor at Florida State. He cares so much for his students and he makes it so evident. I have learned SO much in this course and I would highly recommend it to everyone, even non-business majors. He makes his lectures interesting and relatable so that they are easy to understand.
Dont buy the book, go to class he pretty much takes attendance everyday even though he says he only does it random days through out the semester plus the lectures were easy to follow and grab your attention. The class is 80% exams, 4% research participation, 10% market simulation, and 6% attendance. I enjoyed it, and he was pretty nice to look at.
Honestly one of the best professors I have had at FSU! His lectures are so interesting and I actually enjoyed going to class. If you study the powerpoints and remember his examples, the tests are really easy. Definitely go to his office hours because he really cares to help his students succeed and helped me get a great internship!
Great professor! He gives you everything you need content wise in class but he says quite a bit in the lectures you need to do well on the tests. Lots of A,B,C, A&D, B&C type answer choices on the tests which is annoying but he's a nice guy so it's forgivable. I've taken him for other courses and they're structured the same.
I LOVE THIS PROFESSOR!! TAKE AS MANY CLASSES AS YOU CAN WITH HIM!!!
Great professor, Hopkins has very clear expectations on how to do well in this course, and makes the lectures engaging with lots of real life examples. Tests are from his lectures and powerpoints, and he does take random attendance. The one thing I didn't like were the simulations, which were pretty useless, but other than that I'd do it again.
This class was one of my favorites. Dr. Hopkins tells you exactly what he wants you to know, and all the information is super useful. 4 tests, attendance (only takes it 13 times, counts 10), easy research, and the simulation. Ended up getting an A in this class, you do need to study, but it's interesting info. 100% would recommend!
I'm a firm believer that every student should take a class with Dr. Hopkins. I have yet to see a professor that cares about his students both in the classroom and outside that cares as much as him. I'll be honest the tests are tricky, but the information is interesting and prevalent, just don't miss class and you'll be fine.
What makes Hopkins great is not what he brings to the classroom, but we what he does outside it. Talk to him after class, as he is a very smart and engaging person. As for the class, the lectures are fun and he often lets you out early. Also cancels class alot, often too much. Tests are tough, sometimes unfairly so. Easy to pass, hard to get an A.
He's a great professor and an even better person. Dr. Hopkins is always willing to help. His exams are straightforward, but could be tough if you don't come to class.
Dr. Hopkins is a truly fantastic professor. He is well respected by all of his students. Dr. Hopkins has a clear grading criteria and communicates it with all of his students. Four 40 question exams. Study his video lectures in their entirety and you will earn your A.
Dr. Hopkins is a fantastic professor. If you want someone that will help you get a job, go talk to him outside of class. He really cares about his students. He is not the typical professor. He comes from a business background which is awesome. The class is easy, but the lectures are very interesting.
Honestly one of the best professors I have ever had. You can miss a few days of class and be fine, but he does randomly take attendance for credit. Don't worry though, you won't want to miss his class. He's funny and makes the material interesting. If you have to take this class, I highly recommend Hopkins.
Dr. Hopkins' lectures are really interesting. The tests are not too difficult, but you do have to put the time in since you are only graded on 4 tests. He is really fast at answering emails and will round your final grade if you are borderline. Curves tests. Take Hopkins!
Dr. Hopkins is the best professor I have ever had. His lectures are so interesting. He keeps you so engaged. I didn't even take notes because he talks in a way that makes you remember exactly what he said. His class is amazing. He is by far the best professor at FSU.
I took Hopkins for 3023 and liked him so much I took his elective course. He is very up to date on all of his lectures and is constantly bringing up new and exciting things that are happening in the marketing field. I personally enjoyed going to his lectures (he's not bad to look at) but I would also use his online material to study for the tests.
Show up to class for easy points but honestly you'll want to go. He makes the topic really interesting even if you aren't a marketing major and are just taking it because you have to in the college of business. Easy and fun if you show up
Show up to class and get your attendance points, but his class is so interesting that you would want to go. His exams are not that difficult, just watch the lectures and go to class and you should do fine. One of my favorite classes I've ever taken at FSU. 10/10 would recommend.
One of the best professors at FSU. Although attendance is mandatory, his lectures are so interesting that it makes you WANT to go to class. He is very much respected, has a witty sense of humor, and has an excellent public speaking voice that captivates the audience. He curved all but one exam, and brought in speakers for networking opportunities.
One of the coolest and most interesting professors I've had at FSU. He makes the subject interesting and makes you want to go to class, so the mandatory attendance is not bad. Tests can be a little bit tricky but not hard at all. Easy to get a B or better by just looking over notes or rewatching lectures.
Luke Hopkins is the MAN. Seriously one of the best professors ive ever had and my class is online. He is so smart, funny, and keeps his lectures short, sweet, and to the point. This class is all exams and quizzes but he gives some points back on exams. I would take him for SO many classes if I could. HIGHLY recommend Luke for literally anything
Luke is the best!! He makes his lectures really interesting and the material is pretty easy to understand. Loved going to this class.
Absolute breeze of a class. 4 quizzes and 4 exams, just watch the lectures and you're golden. Highly recommend
This class was interesting and easy. Grades come from 4 online quizzes and 4 tests with all of the information coming from the lecture videos. To study for exams I would just watch the videos and I ended up with an A in the class.
Dr. Hopkins is great! His lectures are interesting and easy to watch. His exams are straightforward but they can be tricky. Definitely my favorite class so far at FSU.
Dr. Hopkins just gets it. Having graduated this semester, I can undoubtedly say that he is a top-3 professor that I have had. Lectures are interesting, minimal, and easy to learn from. He lays it out for you without any tricks or games. A professor who would do anything for his students. I cannot sing him enough praises.
The class is only based on attendance, exams, and research participation so if you don't study for the exams you aren't gonna do well. The class time is when he does his powerpoint lectures.
This class is actually entertaining and doesnt make you hate life. He lectures really well and the class is just exams and research participation which is super easy. Attendance is mandatory and randomly checked so make sure you go to class, but studying is minimal and he posts videos online for you to watch as well. Easy A and such a good guy.
Take a class with Hopkins, I promise you won't regret it. This was my second class with him and he is truly one of the best prefessors I have ever had. Just go to class and listen to his lectures.
Professor Hopkins is one of the best things about FSU. His lectures are legitimately fun to watch. You can tell that he is extremely knowledgeable in his field. The exams are pretty easy. If you watch his lectures and study the powerpoint you will probably get an A.
I truly loved going to his lectures. The class is insanely easy. If you go to class and watch the recorded lectures 1-2 days before the exam, you'll easily get an A. I wish I could take 20 classes with Hopkins because he's an amazing guy. Absolutely take this class.
BEST professor I've had thus far at FSU! I had no interest in marketing before I took his class & now I'm pursuing a minor in Marketing. His lectures are surprisingly entertaining and grading criteria is very clear. He does random attendance, not always. His exams are very straight forward & if you attend class/ review PPTs you should def get an A!
Dr. Hopkins has been one of my all time favorite professors at fsu. He is great at what he does, he's funny, he's very approachable, and he's very understanding. The wording of his tests could get tricky but everything is straight from his lectures. I loved Hopkins so much that I am taking one of his elective classes next semester!!
Dr. Hopkins is a really funny and nice guy. He makes you want to go to class to learn and listen to his great lectures. The class is just 4 exams which are just a little tricky and attendance which is taken randomly. You also have to attend research sessions twice which are just showing up. Overall one of the best professors at FSU, if not the best
Hopkins is a great professor, this class is super similar to mar3403. Easy A if you watch the lectures on repeat. Didnt really use the textbook but it can be useful!
Hopkins is a great professor! No need to buy the textbook, just study the slides, watch Dr. Brady's videos that he uploads for each exam, and pay attention in class and you'll do fine.
straightforward lectures that are easy to watch. watch the lecture videos bec he goes over everything that is on the test. overall nice guy and easy to learn
I took Marketing Basics in person and Retail Management online with Dr. Hopkins. His lectures never get boring and he formats his class very well. The concepts are easy to understand, just review his powerpoints and lectures and you will be fine! I am now a senior and I am writing this review to boost him up and tell you guys to take him!
Such a fun class with an amazing professor! Exams are straightforward if you have been paying attention to lectures. Take this class!
Great Professor. Tests are solely based off PowerPoints. As long as you study you will be fine. Tests are 90% of the class grade. Highly recommend this class it was very interesting and I was never bored watching the lectures.
Services Marketing: Great class, great perspectives. One long group project, but easy to get done with your other members. Hopkins does a great job of making the material fun and interesting.
One of my favorite classes and professors at FSU. Structures his lectures so they are interesting and you can actually remember helpful information. Definitely recommend his class.
Hopkins is the best. I'd recommend this class and this professor to any of my friends. Brady is also a good professor, but I took Hopkins twice and I love him. Very energetic and makes the lectures interesting. Exams are straightforward as well. Easy A if you study.
Lectures are fun and make you want to go, I hated having to skip for any reason. What a lovely guy. Be ready to pay attention to lecture examples, as exams are based heavily on this and applying learnt knowledge.
Prof Hopkins is one of my favorite professors of all time. He makes his classes entertaining and the material easy to understand. Tests are your only grades so just make sure to watch all the lectures and you will be fine.
Professor Hopkins is one of thebest professor I ever had ! If you are looking for someone who love people, accessible, carrying and who want his students to success please take him! You will not regret.I went to Africa for a family problem while taking his classe online and he was very understandable. Watch his lecture and you will do fine
I encourage any MBA students to take Service Marketing Management for an entertaining class. Dr. Hopkins has some pretty cool and simplified lectures that makes it very easy to understand. The exams can be a bit difficult, but as long as you pay attention to the lecture materials you will be fine. His movie trivia has been a awesome lecture bonus.
Great guy! Him and Brady are tied in my opinion. Class is literally 4 exams, just watch his lecture videos and take notes. This class makes me look forward to watching the videos, not dreading it. Highly recommend. Actually knows what he's talking about and shows his passion for it.
Really funny cool professor with interesting lectures. Only graded on 4 exams so if you do badly on one you are screwed. Easy A if you study though.
Hopkins is an absolutely phenomenal professor! His lectures were very easy to follow and remember. I highly recommend if you take this class that you take his exams seriously because it can be the difference between you getting an A or an 89. I recommend studying any Quizlet practice questions. He does not give extra credit so don't even ask!
Dr. Hopkins is a great teacher and i genuinely enjoy watching his lectures. The only downfall to this class is the only grades and assignments given are the four exams. He also provides practice quizzes before the exams but theyre not graded. So focus on Acing those exams. Hes always available to help if its needed.
Professor Hopkins is my favorite professor I've had. His lectures are broken up and there's not a lot of them, plus they're entertaining to watch. He gives practice exams and a study guide before every exam (4 of them) and as long as you pay attention to the lectures and do the practice exam you'll do well in the class. Trust me. Take this class.
Great professor! I definitely recommend this class! The lectures were amazing and so well done. Easy to understand and very clear instruction. Exams can be hard as you really have to know how to apply the information. Overall, great class and professor!
Professor Hopkins is a really great teacher. I usually take courses based on how little I can pay attention and still pass but Hopkins made each lecture so entertaining and easy to follow I actually wanted to watch them all and I ended up learning a lot. The course material is pretty common sense but his examples are very helpful.
Professor Hopkins is an amazing professor with a sense of humor that makes his lectures interesting and entertaining. Very simple material that is pretty common sense and all you have to do is look at the powerpoints or watch lectures to pass and ace the exams. Definitely recommend!
Great professor and fun class
Great class! Dr. Hopkins is interesting, entertaining, and informative. You can do minimal work and still get a C+ or B-, but you can also put in a little extra work and make an A. He's always willing to help if you reach out, which you don't see as often with large online classes.
If I could take all my classes with him I would. His teaching styles are great, him and Brady are the same person. Only 4 exams and that is it which is tough but the class isnt difficult if you study.
Hopkins is the best.
Other teachers take note. Professor Hopkins class is the perfect example of the fact that don't need all of these group projects, discussion questions, papers and other busy work to teach a great class. Professor Hopkins just gives engaging lectures that teach the material. That is why we came to college- to be inspired by great professors.
I would highly recommend taking this class online! It is hard to keep up in class if you're wanting to take notes. The in person classes do not have access to the online lectures! Great professor tho!
Dr. Hopkins was very clear and helpful the few times that I reached out to him. There are only 4 exams, so be wary. However, they are easy if you study. The textbook is optional, but he will put questions in it on the exam. So if you study those questions, it is like 10 easy questions on the exam. Would take any of his classes again.
The class consisted of 4 exams. His lectures are very helpful and so is the book. I would strongly recommend buying the book because many of his test questions come from it. He also makes a practice quiz available before every exam. I would suggest taking the practice quiz several times before taking the exam. The test questions are very similar.
The lectures are very helpful but I never watched them lol. If I had put in more effort I would've made a better grade because the class is very simple and Hopkins explains things very well.
Dr. Hopkins is great! His lectures are actually interesting and not hard to watch. The book is very helpful because he includes sample questions when he covers different topics. The tests can be a little difficult if you don't pay attention, but are manageable if you watch the lectures and read the book.
Definitely worth the hype. His lectures are amazing and the tophat complements well with the exams. He only grades on 4 exams, so there's not much you can do if you don't nail all of your exams. Definitely recommend!
Exams are harder than they seem, just attend lectures and do practice quizzes.
Large class but still very engaging. Evan though I'm not a marketing major I still found the class enjoyable and insightful. Luke's lectures feel more like a Ted Talk than a class lecture. Exams aren't bad as long as you go to class.
Such a shame I had to take this class online. Hopkins' lecture vids were very intriguing because they gave many real-life applications and he interacted with his grad students when filming which simulated an interactive environment that is normally lacking with online courses. I wish there were assignments though :( You're only graded on 4 exams.
I love this professor. I took retail management online and his lectures were actually interesting. The whole class is literally just 4 exams so if exams stress you out then maybe it's not the best.
DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE IF YOU ARE NOT A GOOD TEST TAKER. I made that mistake. The only grades are 4 tests. Although I hated that about this class, the lectures are awesome and super entertaining. This class would be a 10/10 if there was at least a couple homeworks and quizzes to add into your grade.
I took this for my minor course, usually I hate test only classes, but I did well in his class. His lectures are very straightforward and he will give points for test questions he decides were too hard. Overall liked his class.
Luke as a person is great. Really engages into the subject and solicits a great amount of attention. The class is 92% exams though. Each exam is about 23% of the grade and there are four of them. VERY difficult to get an A and gives no extra credit.
He really breaks things down and makes the class easy to understand. There are 4 non cummulative exams and they make up your whole grade. Not sure why people are saying there is no extra credit because there is if you do a project or fill out 2 10 minute surveys. Do the practice problems and textbook problems over and over and you will get an A.
His lectures are always so engaging. You're only graded on 4 exams but all the content is in his lectures and the textbook. He also replies to emails really quick. Best professor I've had so far.
Even though I'm not a marketing major, I thought the class was great. Some people don't like that there are only 4 exams but as long as you watch the lectures and take the practices quizzes in canvas and the textbook, it is not too hard. And you don't have to do discuss boards or weekly assignments that are just busy work.
BEST TEACHER EVER!!!! Hopkins knows and loves what he's talking and he'll make you too! He is a great teacher and makes sure you really know the material by giving endless examples. 4 exams thats criteria is clear and from his lectures. Definitely prepare for the exams and understand his examples. I found that taking them were fun and beneficial!
If you watch the videos and read the textbook, you will do well on the tests. He only has four tests but most of the questions are from the section review mc questions in the textbook so make sure to memorize those. The practice quizzes also help alot and make sure to know those. If you are a bad test taker i would not recommend.
Hopkins is the man! Taking this class online was simple, just watch the lecture videos, take notes and you'll be fine. You're only graded on 4 exams but they're not hard.
Favorite professor I've had at FSU so far, although attendance wasn't mandatory I genuinely looked forward to his class and rarely skipped, this course solidified that marketing was the right major for me! he is also very accommodating and easy to reach out to
This professor only gives grades by exams. There is too much pressure in only being able to rely on exams for grades and no other way to weight out the grade. Also, the practice quizzes were only a little like the exam. The exams would only cover some of the things from the quizzes and most of the material on the exam would leave you confused.
I loved the class. Your only grades are the exams, but they aren't too hard if you watch the lectures and read the book. If you want a class with a lot of weekly assignments and discussion boards to add to your grade, this isn't the class for you. If you want a class that is interesting and doesn't waste your time with busy work, take this class.
One of the best teachers I've had at FSU. His lectures are pre-recorded, great quality, funny, and effective to study. Graded on only four tests + four extra credit bumps. The tests are easy if you watch the lectures, read the TopHat textbook, and do the practice test. He is also extremely understanding and lenient, I couldn't recommend more!!
Hopkins is one of the best professors ever. If you complete the review multiple times (unlimited attempts) for each exam, you will be in good shape. Only the 4 exams and survey are you grades.
Easy class if you just want a B or C. HARD AS HELL if you want an A. Your only grade in this class is basically the exams. If you want an A you can only miss two or three questions. Don't attend class won't pass. He's a great professor and his lectures are really helpful (book wasn't as helpful unless you missed class).
Absolutely take this professor and this class! Favorite professor at FSU, he's a cool guy. No homework, it's just 4 exams. All the information is on his lecture videos and slides and the information is easy to understand and actually fun to learn about. He gives practice exams that are super similar to the actual exams so it's easy to get an A.
I have greatly enjoyed having this in person class. He is a great lecturer and it is clear he cares about his students. Grade in the class is determined by 4 exams and extra credit. I highly recommend actually going to class because thats where he delivers all his material.
Overrated. He does not teach and only expects you to figure things out on your own.
Hopkins is a great lecturer! He's super knowledgeable and is very charismatic. There are four exams and research participation credit. Each exam usually has a (very) small curve, but the exams are cake. Just go to class and review the lectures and you'll do fine. I never went to class and got a B, not hard at all lol.
great class and interesting lectures. there are only four exams but they are not too difficult if you watch the lectures and read the book. Dr. Hopkins is very willing to help. Even though the class had over 400 students he was always willing to meet and review my notes or exam. He's one of the best!
He's one of my favorite professors so far at FSU. His lectures are entertaining and far from boring. There are only 2 Exams so keep that in mind and only two assignments one is individual and another is in a group project. As long as you pay attention and do your work you will pass no problem. His tests have essay portion worth 75 out of 100 points
I learned more from reading the book than from the lectures, so take what you want from that. Both exams are challenging and require an understanding beyond what is covered in the book/lectures. Don't blindly trust the study guides. The first project was a breeze; the written paper required aspects unrelated to class. Good guy, mediocre teaching.
The class was straightforward without any busy work. I met with Dr. Hopkins multiple times throughout the semester to go over the lectures, but you can do well in the class without additional meetings. The group project will take more time than you probably expect and bad group members can make it take longer.
Prof Hopkins was my favorite prof of the semester by far. He is really engaging and entertaining. The course is entirely exam based, no homework or participation grade. The textbook was helpful for the exams, but actually going to class helps A LOT for the exams, which were curved by one question each exam. I would 100% take another of his classes.
I enjoyed this class as an intro to marketing, despite not being a marketing major. I found the lectures to be entertaining and worth going to class for. The course is entirely based on exams so be sure to study quite a bit for those and you'll be all good.
Hopkins is a goat, material is pretty easy but class is 90% exams so if you mess one up ur screwed
Professor Hopkins' lectures are super engaging. While the class is exam-heavy, the content is well-covered in the lectures and textbook. I found unstuck ai really helpful for exam prep alongside the practice quizzes. Overall, a great class if you stay on top of the material.
Dr. Hopkins was a great professor for marketing! I will say the personal selling and sales management lesson is quite challenging, but other than that it is not too hard. Enjoy the show!
Luke was a great lecturer. His classes were very engaging, and he was very passionate about marketing. Entire course is just 4 exams, which are easy if you study the material well. He's a great guy and even wrote me a letter of rec! Would highly recommend.
This was my favorite class in all of college! It was online class but I felt like I was watching a podcast. The textbook is very helpful and he is always willing to meet with students individually to go over exams or the study guide. I was surprised by how willing Dr. Hopkins was to helping me one-on-one even though the class was so large.
No required attendance, but the only grades of the course are exams and every exam is very heavily based on lectures. However, he is very funny and personable so the lectures are pretty interesting and fly by. He also provides practice exams for each exam and some of the questions are often the same. Great professor and great class.
One of the few GOATs in COB and FSU. I don't know who else teaches this class, but definitely take Luke. His lectures are interesting and he's a pretty funny guy. Big advocate for his students. Knows when to stop class when everyone is losing focus. There is a SONA research part of this class: don't sweat it's like maybe an hour of work total.
I feel incredibly lucky to have had Luke as a professor. Amazing guy, fun lectures to watch, and dealt with the aftermath of the shooting with care and patience, with the best response of all of my professors. Got an A by thoroughly watching the lectures and making Quizlets based on my detailed notes! Textbook was helpful, but lectures matter most.
Professor Hopkins is the best! This class was only four exams and no extra homework. He wrote the textbook that is provided through TopHat and it is so easy to read. The way he writes and teaches is so easy to comprehend I would love to take any class with him again.
Luke is one of the best professors (if not the best) I've had at FSU. He treats his students like actual people and is great at what he does. I learned so much in this class because he made it interesting, even though it was fully online. I enjoyed watching the lectures, which I usually never do when taking an online class.
Luke Hopkins made this class so interesting and his lectures were very engaging. The class is not hard at all but the majority of your grade comes from exams so you have to study and pay attention in class if you want to do well.
4 tests and that is it, which is fine if the tests make any sense. Intro to marketing very similar in structure to this class but the tests were clearly written. He is a nice guy and the class is enjoyable, but the tests were filled with typos and the wording made my head spin. It made no sense. If you are an indecisive test taker this is a no.
Even though I'm not a business major, I really liked this class. Dr. Hopkins found a way to make the topic interesting without being boring. There are only four exams but they aren't difficult as long as you watch the lectures.
If you go to class and listen to the lectures, do the practice exams, and study on quizlet, you'll pass. 4 exams. NO homework.
Dr Hopkins lectures are super funny and interesting and you can tell he's comfortable and knows what he's talking about. The only downside of the course is that the ONLY grades you'll have are from the exams.. so make sure you study hard for those. You also have to do so a surveys but other than that i love this class
Go to class and take notes on the material. Super easy to get an A if you do that and study for the exams. Lectures are actually interesting too and you learn a lot. Every COB professor should be like Dr. Hopkins.
Exams are the only grade, but super easy. Just watch the lectures and do the practice quizzes, and you'll be fine. He curves every exam based on certain questions that were disproportionately missed. Great guy
Great in class lectures and does a great job of introducing to us the marketing world. The key to doing well on the tests is to read the book (don't worry its the shortest and simplest textbook you'll ever read). 4 tests worth 92% of your grade. Great class and professor!
We have 4 exams and that's it. His lectures are funny and remind me of a podcast. It can be easy to forget you're taking this class so make sure to watch his lectures every week and you should be fine on the exams
Great lectures, which is rare for an online class. Only graded by 4 exams but they're very easy, are curved, and have repeat questions from his practice exams. Just take good notes on the lectures and read the textbook (he wrote it) and you'll do great. One of my favorite classes I've taken at FSU!
The only class I enjoyed going to despite attendance not being mandatory because the lectures were enjoyable. Although the class is mainly graded by exams, they're super easy as long as you study and do the practice exams. I took his Retailing Management course at the same time, which was helpful because there was a lot of crossover material.
He has great, engaging lectures. Attendance is not mandatory, but going to class and listening to the lectures was really helpful for the exams. Does not try to trick you on exam questions.
Dr. Hopkins is phenomenal! The lectures are interesting and entertaining at the same time. The book matches the material perfectly and is not too long. Yes, there are only four exams, but they aren't so difficult that this should stress you. You need to study and attend class to do well - if you do you'll be fine on the exams.
Incredible professor with engaging lectures and practice tests similar to the test material. Wish I could take again!
Love his personality and his online lectures were very interesting. There are only 4 tests and that is your whole grade. I got high 70s on first 2 then high B's. I really loved the class and felt prepared but am an anxious test taker. Wish he offered literally anything else for credit. I would for sure take him again but be ready for 4 tests only
