I was very disappointed with everything about Tannatt's class. She is always late, very flaky, and doesn't lecture on the material. If you enroll in her section, you are basically enrolling in a self-study course. Don't go to class, waste of time unless you want to learn about her personal life.
she makes me sick every class,this is the only class i want to escape from every time she appears ,likes to bring people to groups and make them discuss things that have nothing to do with her class,cant hold attention.makes an open book quizess.still i dont suggest her to anybody.
this class is so boring, and she doesn't go over the material in the book at all. i don't recommend this class to anyone. the quizzes are fair if you do the reading on your own. class is a waste of time...

This class was one of the most interesting classes i have taken, you will enjoy it if you are serious about it. If you just take it for the heck of it, it will be boring.

Easy A, only if you read the material. Quizzes are straight from the text. But, don't depend on the teacher to explain what you don't understand. She's lenient. Overall, good GE class to take...again, only if you read the text!
HORRIBLE!!! she is sooo boring! She's only helpful, in that she tells you to organize study groups. Her lectures have nothing to do with the quizes. All quizes are aced upon reading the 3chapters at a time and memorizing the material. It's not hard if you're up to the work. Take any other teacher.
on the schedule she's listed as TANNATT M G M, but she goes by Lupita Tannatt. look at her comments on this website for Tannatt, Lupita. simply put, this instructor is horrible. i dreaded this class nothing i've ever experienced before. she doesn't teach, and then gets upset if you miss class.
Boring as can be classes and lectures that say nothing pertinent to learning the material. I usually left as soon as she turned her back or at break. If you like to read though, her tests are geared toward the infants she talks about. Reading chapters the day b4 and show up to the test = get an A

She is a very nice lady and makes a better administrator than teacher. She spent most of our class going through administratative manners, i.e. when our appointments with her are. We, unfortunately, did not go over materials related to the class that much. I wish the class lectures were better.
I took the scholars class in this section and let me tell you she should not be teaching a scholars class. Lets her cell phone ring in class then talks on it, is insanely boring, and just repeats whats on the board. She IS nice, and the class is relativly easy, but assigns too much reading in tooo short time if your schedule is busy.
This professor is a disgrace. Not only should she not be teaching Scholars classes, but she should not be teaching. She does not promote critical thinking, answers her cell phone in class, avoids lecturing and teaching as much as she can, and is always late. She spends most of class either figuring out technical equipment or playing videos.
Easy class and I found it very interesting. It was the only class I didn't really dread going to. Even though it wasn't challneging you do need to study alot. Its mostly memorization though thancritical thinking.
Easy class, I had a B at the end of the year and she bumped me to an A. Cool teacher. Hot girls in the class too, it was only me and this other guy. I mean it is child development.

Horrible teacher, doesnt teach in class all she does is put on a movie or show a slide show critical thinking and challenges to her point of view ar not allowed and pushed aside in class. she should not be allowed to teach!!!

I really really enjoyed her class alot! she gives multipul choice tests on every 2-3 chapters. The tests are basiclly on the definitions and charts in the book. Easy. Simple. Show up to class, ask questions if you got any take the tests and any other assignments she gives (don't worry, they're easy and simple) then you'll get an A
shes cool..really relaxed...tells stories laughs at her own jokes but chill class overall. shes a little scatterbrained and disorganized but the class is an easy A. test questions are really easy too.

i hate this class more than anything. she is so extremely boring. please if you have other options choose them because you will die of boredom in this class. all she does is talk about her son and go off topic about stuff that doesn't matter. do not take her, trust me you will be happy without her.
Easy on the eyes, good sense of humor. Though not a hard class, you still have to make an effort, but she's flexible with grading. Multiple choice tests, but you have to do the reading. Also a few simple writing assignments. Uses Powerpoint, a few videos, and has lighthearted lectures and discussions. Understands a student's struggle, just ask
She is pretty easy. You need to either pay attention in class or read the book. Need to attend class cause there are 8 quizzes and little writing assignments that she gives out.

Material is presented in a clear manner. all test are multiple choice, so if you read the material this class should be an easy A

she is very nice but very unorganized she tends to loose paperwork and SCANTRONS! she doesnt have a grade book so if she missplaces something your loss. her class is easy and shes nice, but you dont learn anything
She is AWESOME! Super easy, 12 open book quizzes that count as tests with a MAX of 20 questions. She drops the 2 lowest. If the total of all your quizzes is over 160 (B) you can use that grade for your final and not have to take the final. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
I took this as an online class. It was AWFUL - I i almost gave up online classes after this waste of time. She was completely unavailable. No response to emails, phone calls. Only learned thru tedious text (she told us it cost $45 and it cost $78 - that should have been my first clue). Class material poorly presented. Dreadful! Never again!
class met once a week and she cancelled class 3 times. one of which was the week before spring break. no grades for us by the drop date. her tests are not clear. she just makes them up right before you take them. some bonus, others do not. she had us make study guides, but then didn't use them. she has to pass us, there only 13 people in class!!
This is one of the better introductory courses that I've taken. Good job^^
Taking this as an online class. It's much easier than I thought. Txt is required for open book quizzes and there is a group project. We are corresponding through email and havent had any problems. The assignments are also interesting and make you see the bigger picture.
You can thoroughly study for the tests but her test questions can be very misleading. I found my science classes to be much easier because of this. She never lets out early. Though she is a nice person, can we say boring almost to the point of torture sometimes.
as a person she is great, but as a teacher she isn't all that. she isn't very clear and if you ask her for help she wont give it to you. plus you better keep track of your assignments because she is more likely to lose it. sorry but i wouldn't recommend her if you want to learn
If you turn in excellent work, she says is "marginal." Limited communication and, when she does communicate, it's one-sided. Was looking forward to this class as the book, "Home School and Community," is well written. Most online teachers are consistently kind and always helpful. Not here.
Took her online class. VERY disorganized. Did not return emails/phone calls. Finally had to contact dept chair to get issues resolved. Only learning came from text - waste of time if you are really interested in learning anything from prof. Wish I found this website before I registered for her class. Do not recommend!
The material could be fascinating if taught by a Professor who was organized, available, and willing to communicate. There are no lectures so you better read the text. There are numerous assignments (20+); however only half enhance the subject matter. I am going to try out one more Online class before I give up (although not with her).
Shes not that bad. I just finished her summer online class and im just glad i got the class knocked out of the way. I didnt expect her to teach because its online. The class is just all about turning in the assignment on time which are not really hard. just a bit time consuming. Need the text book to find the answers. DOnt just put ur own opinion.
If u wanna learn read n study da text book urself.I guess she doesnt grade hard but theres 20 assignments and only gave me full credit on 5 which is weird cuz wen i read other ppls assignment mine was honestly better than da majority.w/e i stil get A-.Doesnt always respond quick to ppls e-mails.dont let the syllubus scare u jus turn in assn on time
I took Prof. Tannat's class online in the summer semester and yes it was intense but it was worth it. I got an A and worked hard. She responded to my emails in a timely manner, no complaints. I wished that there was more feedback about my work but I understand when you have about 20-25 students it can get a little much.
Took her Psych 19 class over the summer. Lots of reading, but she was very helpful and let us use notes on the exams. Got an A. She's creative with assignments too. I liked her. Very down to earth.
Did not like her at all. I took an online course. She took a long time to respond, her assignments were hard to understand and she gives no feedback! If you have a choice, don't take her class. She grades very hard and takes off points for small things. She expects you to back up all assignments with text from the book but the tests are open book.
Great teacher, you just need to be able to study to pass this class. She drops the lowest quiz and if you have above a B average you dont have to take the final. Interesting class

She is a terrible teacher. She is combative and defensive. Her spelling, grammar, and instructions are awful, but she expects perfection from you. If I could have avoided her class, I would have.

She never replies to emails, and when she does she responds back in a very rude way. She assigns a lot of work and expects perfection, its not very common anyone gets a perfect score on their work. Avoid this professor if you can, it is not worth it.
Highly recommend this teacher. She's not a hard A as long as u do the work (several reports). Tests are fair and one of five is dropped. You'll learn a lot about human psychology and life if u take her. Tests are 95% from lecture. Even in a 3 hr class not boring cause she teaches in a interesting way and encourages discussion & questions.
the reading determines the tests, so read read read. She drops 1 test so that's good. Not terribly interesting lecture, but she is a nice person, though she is late/wastes time many times. Would recommend the class to someone who is not so into psychology, but it was fine for my prerequisite. Got a pretty easy A, which is all I wanted.

Tannatt can come off as rude. She expects perfection, and gets irritated when asked to repreat something. Hard to approach. Lectures somewhat intersting. Her test are pretty easy if you read. Final not mandatory if you have an A in her class by the end of the semester.
This could/should be an online class only - not really a point in coming to class. If you just reach the chapters in the book and use the study guide, you will get an A.

She was boring, but she totally tried to help students get better grades by incentives and tailoring her grading to how the class was doing as a whole. With a B average you could opt of the final which was cool. Everything is from the book so you have all the info you need, and she only tests about 12 pages per chapter and she tells you exactly
Worst teacher ever! If you take this class I advise you to take it online with someone else! You don't have to show up to class because everything is turned in online! She is unclear and rude about everything, especially her e-mails!
WORSE TEACHER!!! I can't believe how badly I wanted this class to be over. This is my major and dragged myself to go to class. This should be an online class, she literally posts everything, even assignments are turned in online. You could never go to class and get an A. Tests are online as well. She is by far terrible, and always complains!
I do not understand any negative posts on this professor !!! Tannatt is very clear and very helpful. She is funny, uses great personal anecdotes to help us get the material and certainly let's us know what to be studying. Attend class, do the assignments and participate. I highly recommend her !!!!
I dont understand the comments on this professor i thought that she was a good professor. I highly recommen her.If you get a B or high on your overall tests you have an option of not having to take your final. She also hives you reveiw sheets so that you know what is going to be in the tests. Doesnt get any better.
She is very old school! She uses e-companion which is not even updated. She makes you turn off cell phones during class or she will take off points on exams. Very rude professor that she even gets angry if you are taking notes during class! She talks more about her life than what she teaches. And its a lot of work for a 3 unit class!
In psych 11 ON CAMPUS she had nearly everything posted online, her class was only used for lectures (which were posted online) you would lose credit if you were tardy or absent. She never mentions assignments or instructions, but expects you to know because it is posted on line. No assignment is 100% clear and she will not clarify. Terrible teacher
I have mixed feelings about Tannat. She is very aloof at times and didn't really prepare for class. She read her lecture notes verbatim from what looked like the generic lecture notes that come from the publisher of the textbook. She did make it easy to do well in her class with extra point earning incentives. She once forgot we had an exam one day
I have decided that Professor Tannatt would be a great kindergarten or preschool teacher. She is a nice lady, but I dislike this class and how she runs it. She is really disorganized. She makes things too complicated and she cannot follow her own assignments. Overall okay class but needs lots of improvements.
She is very disorganized. Expects you to know when the assignments are due because the deadlines are posted "online" but the date she has posted is from a year ago so you really don't kno when the assignments are due. She changes her syllabus all the time. Expects you to read about 40 pages a night from a large textbook. Do not recommend her
Took her class online. Honestly, if you just do what's required you should do just fine. However, she's not at all involved with the class. I never got any feedback on any of my work, just a grade. No explanation to why she took any points off. She's whatever. Everything's from the book, no lectures. Just read and you'll be fine.
Easiest class I've ever taken. I never read the chapters and got all A's. Read the sylb. CLEARLY and do things the way she says on there, skim through the book and you'll be fine! If you've never taken an online class, good luck! Oh, there's a group project, -___-

She seems like a great preschool teacher, but college... no!! she makes things more confusing than necessary. I learned what kind of teacher I DONT want to be..

And then you get graded down for not including things in your hw thatshe never explicitly said was required. Very disorganized class, would not recommend.
this is by far the worst teacher i have ever taken. AVOID!She is very unorganized, will never respond to your emails but yet is always emailing the class. She takes everything personal and will take it out on the whole class.Will never be accurate with your grades, she would never post up grades or will post the wrong ones up. Worst teacher ever!!!
It is a lot of work but it pays off. She gives you review charts and drops the lowest score for the exam. If you do the work, you'll be fine.
at first i was worried because of the reviews here but honestly she is nice and a good teacher. she lights up instantly when she can tell you are interested in the subject. she is disorganized but she knows it, she wont penalize you for it. shes pretty awesome, i enjoyed this class
She is really a good instructor. Very helpful and nice. We had a lot of homework, but the homework helped to understand the course better and easier.

Great Teacher. Veryyyyyyy easy. Drops lowest test grade, and provides the option to use test grade on final. Must takeee. She isnt helpful but you wownt need her help.
My opinion on her varied throughout the course. She is unorganized with homework, tends to forget things, and gives REALLY bad study guides (I mean really bad). Her tests aren't hard, but don't rely on her study guides, they are no help.
Really don't understand her negative reviews. She is a total sweetheart, that is unless you get on her bad side. It's a great and interesting class: read, do the hw, LEARNSMART, study for tests, you can't really go wrong. Pay attention and stay off your phone, that really bugs her, but thats understandable. Overall, helpful learning experience!
I was nervous taking Tannatt based on reviews, but I got an A. She's easy but can be picky with points, text is long & boring, assignments are ok, never had to ask for help... There was 3 exams & a group project... Yes, online. I was more annoyed with group members than Tannatt. Would I take her again? Nah, but she's really not the worst professor!

She deducts points and gives you no explanation as to why she is deducting points.I really wish she would give feedback on the assignments. She's awfully quiet and I feel the tension through the computer LITERALLY. Whenever she gives feedback it's always because she has something NEGATIVE to say. Regret taking this class
She is very helpful and gives you many opportunities to get a overall good grade in her class. She makes the test according to what she lectures in class. Her lectures are very helpful and gives examples on what she will test you on. I really enjoyed her class, shes very nice and the assignments are interesting.
She was great. It was only a level 1 psych class so I'm not sure how much you can really expect. She's extremely smart but the students were not very engaging. Most never read material. If all you do is read the book and listen to lectures you will get an A. If you show interest in psychology she will engage you more deeply than other students.

Great class. The subject itself is very interesting. There is going to be a lot of reading so it is easy to fall behind. Also a lot of assignments so be careful with the due dates because some assignments are due at various days of the week. With that said keep up with the reading. However I do recommend that this class should be taken on campus
Took her class online, she gives an unreal amount of homework and most of it seems like busywork. Prompts are never super clear, but she marks you way down if you don't meet her standards, but any feedback is vague and she barely answers emails. The tests are super easy if you read the book, but that's about all this class has going for it.
It is a night mare that simply ruins your summer easily by so much studying and finally getting low grades for minor mistakes. This class is not about learning; it is about memorizing. Quizzes do not measure your knowledge but minor details from text book. If you want to learn or keeping your grades up, I do not think this is for you.
