He is the worst teacher I have ever taken in all my years. He comes across great but turns into an a$$. He's rude-unhelpful-unclear-degrading & makes you feel dumb when you walk out of his class or office. His tests are impossible; you do not get notes for his class, so you pretty much teach yourself. Save your time and money. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!

Very difficult to study for tests. Gives too broad a range of information. E-mails new assignments just before classes.
If you want to be a microbiologist He's your man! Otherwise safe yourself the headache, frustration, and awful teaching he offers. I don't know what OCC was thinking when they hired him! The absolute worst professor I've had. He is rude, degrading, and lectures on material never tested on. The textbook in not user friendly, tons of powerpoint slide
Class is not very difficult, but it helps to take intro to bio, organic/biochem, and anatomy first. If you do that, then half this micro class will be review. He is very enthusiastic about micro and helpful if you have questions.
I took Microbiology after finishing A&P, and Organic/BioChem. I found this background VERY helpful for most of the class. I found the class interesting, I studied and took it seriously and got an A. Some test questions required more critical thinking. Taping the class helped. My only problem with him was that he spoke too softly.

ugh. this class was a nightmare. talks about things that are irrelevant in the big picture of the class. made us waste time relearning material he did a bad job teaching, so we missed half of the information in the course.
hands down worst teacher ive ever had! really hard to follow, lectures rarely cover test material, and he makes you feel stupid. he says he wants to help, but treats you like youre a fool if you ask a question! if you dont like being talked down to, do not take this man!
Exams are horrible. Some stuff he doesn't even go over in class and they show up on tests. U need to read every word of the chapters to do well in his class. I suggest taking it at another campus. I get straight As and I got a B in this class. Not only that but this was the only class I was taking! GO TO ANOTHER CAMPUS-i wish i did
Loved this class! Professor gave good lectures and was very interesting. I found his tests to be very fair. If you have a good foundation in biology and are willing to study you will do well.
Luti is a good teacher. He is really interested in helping students learn. Its not easy but its do-able. He got me excited about science and I DONT have a science background. Very thankful that I had him. If taking the class, I recommend reading a little before the first day, I was so overwhelmed I wanted to cry, but it gets easier. I promise!
Dr.Luti is one of the best teacher that I had in this country.If your interest is not merely passing the course,he is the right teacher.You will know most of the thing about the subject by the end of the class.He is very helpful and you can approach him anytime for help.He is a great singer too.He will have answers for all your doubts.Trust me.
This was the hardest class I have ever had at OCC! Don't take this as an 8 week course if you have a life! He was generally nice, but when it came to asking him for advice about the coursework he would make you feel stupid. That is why I never went to his office for any help b/c I felt that he would degrade me.
He is a great teacher! Has a wonderful passion for his subject and students. He is very willing to help you if you are willing to put in the effort!
Dr. Erbeznik's lectures are VERY boring but he does relate everyday diseases to what we are learning. He is not easy and he can be very sarcastic so if don't have 5-10 hours a week to study take someone else.
Absolutely WONDERFUL teacher. Occationally hard to approach, he is extremely well versed in his topic and can come off as aarogant and degrading. NOT true at all! This is NOT an easy topic, he does his best to break it down and give real life examples. Study guides, weekly quizzes, and concept maps help in studying for exam. Grade isn't 100% tests
Dr. E is one of the best professors I have had - NOT easy but you WILL learn!! Isn't that why we are here. You have to put in a lot of effort but what he teaches is practical and you can take with you for the rest of your medical or science career. Show him you are trying and he will give you all the respect you deserve.
Dr. E is no joke! The class is very hard! You must attend everyday lecture or you will be lost. In class he can seem intimidating, but if you go to him after he honestly is VERY helpful and a nice guy! It isn't an easy topic, but give it a chance. Also I loved that he gives a lot of work so that test scores are not worth as many points. HARD CLASS
Luti will challenge you, the material is difficult, but not impossible. Put in the effort, learn what you are supposed to, do the extra credit and attend the study sessions and you will get an A, plain and simple. Isn't that what schools all about?
You need to read the chapters.He has you complete study guides before he goes over the material, but there may be something in the chapter that is brought up in class, so take good notes. He is very helpful after class. DO THE BOOK'S ONLINE EXERCISES AND QUIZES. Alot of his quiz and test questions come from that material. work with groups of quizes
Dr. E is a wonderful professor. The class is hard, but if you do your study guides and use the website that comes with your book you will do very well in this class. I didn't spend a lot of time reading the textbook, I just used it as a resource, otherwise the information can become confusing. He is always willing to help out students.
He's a very hard teacher. His tests are also very difficult. You can tell her lives microbiolgy, but his class is hard!!!
Though the material was difficult this peofessor brings a great plan for study, his style and professionalism is top notch. He is very knowledgable and understanding of the task at hand. Test scores are not the most important goal, which allows hard workers to achieve high grades.
His grading is not fair. Itook 2710. Felt lost but scored enough points that i didn't have to take comprehensive final...got a B-. Then i took. 1570 and aced all test with 95+++ still got a. B-
GOOOD TEACHER. the subject he teaches is very hard but he makes sure to give you other opportunities to get good grades besides just the exams. he is always willing to help you & if he sees you're putting in an effort, he will make sure you get the grade you deserve. don't confuse the hard subject with the teacher being "bad".
GREAT TEACHER VERY EDUCATED YOU WILL LEAVE THE CLASS AND ACTUALLY HAVE LEARNED SOMETHING. OFFERS LOTS OF EXTRA CREDIT. You will be non stop busy with homework. Got a good grade but worked very hard for it. Be ready to have no life !!!

If you have no other plans and have enough time to study every day for 8 weeks than this class will work for you. It was one of the most challenging classes i have ever taken! Come to class, Be ON time. Participate. make sure you do the STUDY GUIDES! 5 exams, 1 cumulative exam and final paper all in 8 weeks. Study powerpoints and study guides!
he is a great teacher who cares about his students well being and class. classmates wanted to rate him top teacher at occ. you will work hard, but you will learn alot. his passion for the subject will motivate and inspire you to want to learn more about microbiology!! especially if your a bio lover. :)
Luti teaches you how microbio applies to the real world. He is tough but very fair and tells you what he expects. Tests are difficult. Slackers beware - minimal work and just memorizing won't cut it in Luti's class! But, you will learn alot and understand microbio. Great teacher, great guy.
Luti is a good teacher. His professionalism is top notch. This class is just very hard. He wants you to learn so he encourages class participation. I got a B on this class, but I worked hard for it. I suggest you check the website that comes with your book because some of the questions on the exams are taken from it. I found that out at the end.
Dr. E's exams are difficult BUT he gives you plenty of chances to make up those points with online quizzes and in class worksheet. DO ALL THE EXTRA CREDIT! He was very helpful during his office hours. DO NOT be late or interrupt him. He is serious. I worked HARD and earned an A by doing everything he said. It was not easy!
His class may not be easy, but he teaches very well. He expects lot of his students. He's very approachable and will help in any way he can, encourages asking or answering questions. Labs were well put together, we knew exactly what was expected of us. Loved his interactive power-point lecture style. Recommend him, but don't expect an easy A.
Luti is a very good teacher. This is a hard class so don't expect not to do the work or to not study for the exams. However with that said there are so many easy points available that can help you along if you do bad on the exams, which are only 60 points each. He's a very nice man and is willing to answer any questions.
I did learn a lot in this class but I can't give any credit to the teacher. Any one who is saying that isn't giving themselves enough credit. Everything I learned was of my own volition. It's a challenging class and that's great, but I feel like the focus was on failing out the class rather than us learning the material.
Prof Erbeznik is a great professor if you actually want to learn. Everyone complaining about him obviously was not willing to put the work in. Everything on the exams IS covered in class. If you put the work in, you will get an A plain and simple. He is very willing to help and very knowledgable, it's just a hard class. Don't expect an easy A.
Professor Erbeznik is a wonderful teacher. He truly cares about each of his students. This is not an easy class! He offers plenty of extra credit options. Do them all. He also offers tons of easy points through D2L. Even if you don't ACE the tests (which you have to study for) you can still earn an A if you work hard. (NOT IF YOU"RE LAZY THOUGH)
Dr. Erbeznik is the hardest teacher I have EVER had. If it wasn't for the fact that I absolutely could not drop because of my program, I would have. You can study for hours and still end up getting C's on his tests. Just memorizing information will not cut it in this class, you need to fully understand the course material in order to pass.

Exams are ridiculously hard. Most of the stuff on the exams were small details that you wouldn't know unless you had a photographic memory. Study guides are nothing like the exam. He is rude to specific students. Says its ok to ask questions and then makes you feel stupid when you ask. Lab is the most unorganized lab I have EVER taken.
Mr. Erbeznik is a greatpassionate teacher. If you need extra help or clarification all you have to do is ask. He makes himself very available and really wants to see his students succeed. Tests are not easy, but all bio teachers have to cover the same material. If you go to class AND LAB, and review before tests you will pass
Absolutely a joy to take this class. He makes microbiology very interesting and amazing. His accent can be hard to understand for the first day, but you get used to it. A lot of people said his class was hard, but I felt it was average. He definitely made learning interesting though.
I like Professor Erbeznik. He is fair and helpful. His lectures felt a bit "rushed", especially for those without a long science background that needed a much slower and clearer pace. However, he does tell the class to speak with him at any time if extra clarification / help is needed. He does his best to prepare us for exams & offers some EC.
If you listen to lectures you will learn so much. I honestly did not have to read too much into the chapters. He is an excellent teacher and really wants the students to understand the big and small picture. I wish I had taken him for my other Bios.
I would avoid this professor if you can. He talks too fast, which makes note taking extremely hard & exams are ridiculous. They make no sense and the notes you take don't help. Final week comprised of an online exam, in class exam, 2 essay questions online, watch a 46 min. video (extra credit) and 2 concept maps! Way too much work for this class.
A tough course overall. But anatomy isnt supposed to be easy. Man up and do the work and you will pass!
This class is designed to be difficult. You have to earn your grade and Apply the knowledge to real world situations, not just memorize terms. I have an amazing understanding of the human anatomy thanks to Dr. Erbeznik. Cheers to him!
If you are a serious student, and put time and effort into your studies, there is no reason why you would get less than an A. It is a rigorous class; many types of assignments and tough exams. Show effort and he will help. If you tune out and don't study much, expect a poor grade. Allow 8-12 hours per week outside of class and you will be fine.
This is the best teacher I've ever taken. His tests are a little difficult and he's kind of strict but he makes sure you know the material fully. Ive never felt so confident in a class. He does have weekly quizzes and bi-weeklu tests. He uses groupwork, notes and other extra credit tools that if you do correctly seriously helps your grade. Take him
Professor Erqeznik is incredible. He is so passionate about Microbiology and wants so badly for his students to understand. He comes off kind of harsh but I think it's because he doesn't want students to get the idea that he is a pushover. The class is not an easy one and there is a lot of material, but he does an awesome job teaching it.

Dr. Erbeznik is strict but he's also a great professor. Very smart. His exams are conceptual and they will definitely challenge you, but an A is absolutely achievable. My advice is to RECORD HIS LECTURES and then listen to ensure your notes are detailed. I barely used the book and did well on all exams this way. He also gives EC which is helpful.
I took micro with Luti and he is by far the best professor I have ever had. He cares more about your success than you do your own. He is very passionate with his teaching and I guarantee if you take this class you will not regret it. Micro is a hard subject you have to study a lot regardless of the professor but, his tests are fair.
HARD class. I am a 3.8 student starting a nursing program in the winter and this was by far the HARDES class I have ever taken. The extra credit is what helped my grade and allowed me to pass the class with a B. You will learn a lot in this class, lutie is a very smart guy and test according to his knowledge. I recorded every lecture which helped.
Dr. E is a great instructor. He doesnt suffer fools well though so I highly recommend taking a life science course before going into his classes especially the Microbiology ones. I'm taking 2 more of his classes and as long as you do the work you will do fine!
I took him for Micro 2710 and AP2 2640 -Around a chapter of reading every other class. -Most of the homework is completed online. The online platform for homework is beneficial. -The online resources are clear and helpful. -Group concept maps/vocabulary practice sheets are helpful. -"Study Guide" sheets are provided for each chapter.
One of the best Profs. I've ever had! His approach to teaching is very progressive- he appeals to each type of learner with a multitude of online homework and study options. I really enjoyed this class!
I absolutely love Dr. E! He has passion about his subjects. He is will to help but is not willing to do the work for you! You will learn as much as the effort you put into it. Its alot of work, definitely not an easy A, but overall I'd take him again in a heartbeat!
Dr. E knows his stuff. He expects you to work hard and give it your all. His tests are very hard, and designed to make you think. He is very accessible during office hours and by email. He wants you to succees, but wont pass you unless you know what he expects you to know. Extra credit is HUGE and he offers it. My advice do it all.
Dr. E is a fantastic professor! He is literally the nicest professor I've ever had. He goes out of his way to make sure he knows that everything is going okay with you, whether it pertains to the class, or to your personal life. His tests are very tough because they cover 8 chpts at a time. He gives enough homework and extra credit that to get an A
The class is easy and prof E is easy going IF YOU SHOW UP TO CLASS AND MAKE THE EFFORT. Attendance is not mandatory but there are in class assignments so it adds up if you don't go. AND the tests are a lot easier if you go to class and listen to the lecture. Prof E gives tons of opportunities to ask questions and get help from him, he cares!
If you ask him to repeat what he said, he'll let you know how inconvenient it is for him to repeat it. He'll tell you straight away that he doesn't like to lecture, so there's a lot of group work. I did a lot of listening to podcasts so that I could learn at my own pace and not be treated like a child that was slow. Tricky wording on exams.
Dr. Erbeznik is a great teacher and a very smart guy. I learned so much from him throughout the course. I struggled with his exams, but with including the extra credit I ended up getting a decent grade. I was only .1% from an A and he wouldn't round which ruined my GPA, but i learned a lot so i guess that's all that matters.
He is the toughest professor when it comes down to grading and taking students grades into consideration especially when it comes down to exams. He's rude when asking him questions during lab. The last week of class he required a 6 page paper and 2 exams (exam 5 and a cumulative). Overall, I would not recommend taking his class if you want an A/B.
DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS! I'm a 4.0 nursing student and this was the hardest class I've ever taken. Be perpared to have a chapter exam, final, 7 page paper, lab reports, and online hmk/quizzes ALL due on the last day of class. ALL of his tests are extremely difficult too. There were only 10 students left at the end. Avoid his class if possible!!
Unless you have a PhD in Biology, this class isnt for you. Do you have questions?? Dont worry, you can always ask Siri. Asking this professor will result in degrading comments. Dont ask questions ? Dont worry, he will call on you and wait through the awkward silence until you fail. Then, he will remind you that you havent studied long enough
microbe project worth most of the points. Don't get on his bad side. Study for the exams. They are online. The final is cumulative and in class and is much easier than the other exams. Good Luck
Erbeznik is a great professor, he's very clear on everything he teaches. Record his lectures and do his study guides for the tests. Tests, quizzes, and homework are done online expect for the in-class cumulative final which is the easiest out of all of the exams. He puts you in assigned groups in class to work on classwork after he's done lecturing
Prof. Erbeznik is obviously a brilliant man and his teaching style reflects this. Record his lectures so you don't miss anything. All the exams are online except final- if your 1st 4 exams average to 91% you dont have to take the final. Only study whats on the study guides or you'll waiste your time. Very tough class, you cant slack off. Great Prof

His teaching style incorporates many modalities that make it super easy to learn. He is tough and there is a LOT of stuff to do. Tests HW x2 Projects and papers. This gives you the opportunity if you are not a good test take to still do well. Smart guy and if you pay attention you will learn. If you dont you wont and will not like him your fault.
In my many years of schooling, I have never encountered a professor so passionate about the topic they taught. And while the course itself is intense and the material very study-heavy, the crossword puzzles and concept maps where a fun way to foster the learning process and get to know class mates. I definitely enjoyed his teaching style.
He is by far one of the best professors that I have had at any University. Do not listen to the negative reviews! He stresses the importance of understanding over memorizing, he has a desire for you to learn the material, he is real, raw, and tells the truth. I got a C on the first exam because I did not prepare; still ended up with an A with him.
Yes, he knows his stuff; that is very obvious. However, his expectations are ridiculous. I attempted his micro class during the summer semester (huge mistake given the work load during a normal length semester is already nuts) and made it roughly to exam 2. He's a very heavy grader and a large portion of the things tested are not covered in class.
I passed his class with an A, however, he made me feel as if I did not earn it. His class is so extremely hard and he makes you think that you can ask him questions but when you do, he makes you feel so dumb for even asking those questions! I did learn and was made more aware of microorganisms but was it worth the stress? Take another professor!!!
Ive had him for a professor multiple times, each and every time ive regretted it. Its very difficult to pass, if you ask questions there will be a degrading comment and he will expect you to know the answer already. he knows the topics well. also some people got caught using quizlet and hes taking it out on everyone. future classes good luck.
DON'T TAKE IT! He is very rude and doesn't care if the students failed or dropped the class. He announced on D2L to drop the class if we can't handle it and take it with some one else. Too many quizzes, exams, lab reports and many study guides to do I was overwhelmed and stressful.

If students ask him questions he'll make you more and more confused and he goes you tell me the answer or he'll say you must figure out the answer. Be ready to teach yourself every single concept.
I can't begin to explain the difficulty of the material of this class. Im a 4.0 student & got a B. It was the hardest B Ive ever earned. he loves when students fail and gets a kick out of it when someone tells him his material is difficult. this is med school level stuff. he's also VERY rude. can't find anything on google. toughest grader. Save yourself from taking this class with him. He is very rude and is not considerate of students. He will take points off for the smallest things and he is very specific with his work. His labs were difficult and there were a lot. The study guides don't match the exams and when you ask him about it, he assumes the material is hard for you.
If you want to keep your good GPA absolutely do not take any course with him. He is a one of the hardest (and not to mention rudest) teachers I have EVER had. He is extremely passive aggressive and makes you feel like an idiot. Even if its a last resort, do NOT take any class with him.
Awesome professor but very tough. He makes you work for his class and if you are serious then you will excel in his class. He is very fond of cutting points for grammar and spelling mistakes which I did not like but still that is what his style of teaching is. He tests real hard and grading is tough too, but nothing that could not be achieved, tks.
The hardest class I've ever taken and he is the rudest professor. The way he treated us as students were NOT RIGHT because he doesn't like to be asked question and expects that we are ready with a high level of comprehension to the concepts. Absolutely horrible person and man. This class was beyond difficult and he wants you to fail.
Avoid. This. Professor. Its not worth the mental turmoil. This class has no business being so hard. Dont ask him questions, he hates them. Dont tell him youre struggling, you just need to do better or drop the class. Exams are unreasonably hard and do not correlate to the study guides. He makes sure to tell/remind us we are his worst class.
I wish I never took this professor. I thought that since it was online it wouldn't be too bad, WRONG! This class sucks, his exams are so hard, you have to do 25-30 three semesters (which he grades hard), 3 lab exams, 5 lecture exams, and one final. He doesn't care if you are struggling, almost everyone has dropped. DO NOT TAKE HIM, YOU WILL REGRET
This was the worst class I have ever taken. The way this professor speaks to his students is very disrespectful. He doesn't care and seems like he enjoys criticizing his students instead of helping them. He gives too much homework and grades you so hard. I have never struggled so much with a class before. save yourself and DO NOT take this class.
This class is no easy A. You will work for your grade and if you are serious you will do good. If you are not, HE CAN TELL, and he will not help you. The work he gave out was really heavy. You have to take the extra step on everything he gives you. All of his exams are difficult. I studied and changed my methods many times and still barely passed. I've never been so stressed out in my life. He gave out a lot of extra credit for your hard work which saved my grade... barely.
I do not understand why this professor is disliked. Comments about him being disrespectful and rude are false. This professor is wise, cares about students, and puts in the effort. I am no genius by any stretch, I attended lecture, participated, and showed an interest. He isn't an easy A, but he taught me to understand material rather than memorize
