She is a good and helfull, if you pay attention to what she said, you will get A easily. She tries to make accounting not too bored. I like her.

I like that she gives extra credit. We cover material pretty fast so it's good to have the extra credit. she brings examples to class which are helpful and sometimes funny.

I came into accounting thinking it was very boring. But Mrs.botsford showed me how interesting it can be. I really enjoy the class, and i think shes a great teacher and person.

Prof Botsford is very helpful. She encourages class participation and discussion and gives practical scenarios for common accounting exercises. She does not mind going beyond the course syllabus. Gives lots of extra credits which are of real, practical use. Wish she could teach Managerial Accounting too.

Ms. Botsford is a very knowledgable teacher. She knows her material. She allows you to use a page of notes on the quizzes and tests. She even let us take the second midterm as a take home. This is a class that does require studying, if you read the materials and study you will be fine!

I took her intermediate classes and auditing classes and enjoyed them very much. I appreciate having the answers to the homework problems and don't understand the comments from the person who thinks it's bad to have solutions. I was skeptical about Professor Botsford at first... She does not use her own material for lectures which meant a full hour of listening to something I could easily teach myself. However, as time went on I noticed that she seemed to become genuinely interested in what she was teaching and her students. Tests are easy, offers some extra credit.

She has great clarity and tries to make things doable. She gives a good amount of extra credit throughout the quarter. She makes the WileyPlus HW due in about 2 weeks, so you have plenty of time to do it. She allows 1 page of notes (front & back) on tests & quizzes. She tells you what will be on them as well.

She is a really great prof. She will ask you for any questions and go over quite a few examples before any quiz's. It's not a super easy class, and you do need to pay attention. But if you listen, and take part in discussions and DO YOUR HOMEWORK, then you'll pass with no problem. I found it very difficult if I didn't do my hw, before tests..

Her lectures consist of power point slides, but she explains them clearly then problem examples in class. A lot of extra credit, tells you what's going to be on the test before. 1 page of notes on tests and usually open book on quizzes. She sounds mean but she doesn't mean to be, I just wish she read less power points and created her own lecture.

Great Professor, she a response when she asks questions. So be prepared to give a yes or no response, or have questions ready. If you are one of those people who think they can take the class and speak 3 words during the whole quarter, you are wrong. She give lots of practice, so if you need practice to understand the class, this is your teacher.

She was extremely helpful and when the concepts were hard, she would go to the textbook and tell us what to underline to make sure that we understood the hard concepts. She made all solutions available to us in a timely manner. She always told us interesting stories about her work experience. She cares about her students.

I took Prof. Botsford 3 tax classes and loved it. The material is not easy, the tax subjects can be difficult to grasp but her explanations made it easier to understand. Prof. Botsford is a CPA with her own tax practice. After i graduated I went to her for my taxes, I have a business and complex tax issues which has helped me with. I recommend her!

I took Managerial accounting from her because my friends said there was a fun project to do . We had the cookie project which taught us how to run a manufacturing company. We made cookies for the whole class and did our presentation for the class. Winners got extra credit and all the class voted for their favorites. We were 1st place so I'm happy.

She'll work you hard in class but it's worth it. Also, read your syllabus. she doesn't like questions you can find answers to in the syllabus. She gives an extra credit quiz on it.

Class is good, sometimes a little dry. Best part is cookie project. We have to do group project and make cookies, not expecting that in accounting. We had to do cost reports on the cookie baking and present to class. Fund project! I like her, she good teacher. Take her!

i loved the tax class. We had to prepare 6 tax returns manually. Prof gave us tax returns with interesting situations, sometimes funny. I didnt know anything about taxes before this class and now I can prepare some tax returns for my family. She grades super fast so you don't have to wait long to get feedback. Loved the class!

At first I thought the class was hard and I couldn't do it but I found it easier as I went along. Lots of information! Tax is not like accounting. Pay attention to detail and read and read again the tax law. I like preparing tax returns, done manually, she does not allow software. Good way to learn to prepare tax returns.

Midterms are really easy. One problem and a few MC base on reading from text book. Final is different from midterms. Harder in some ways. Problems are very different from online and text book HW. She gave you review what on the final but the problem will be little complicated than we thought. Time is consuming for final. MC and problems (5). EC >

The tax class is difficult. The text is good but I had to read chapter several times to understand. She does assign many homework problems which help in understanding. The discussion groups are very useful. She responds immediately and grades test within a day or two. I enjoyed her class and recommend it.

Ms B is very funny and is very understanding. She helps me with my homework questions and takes time to guide me in how to study. I don't think the bad review is true. Ms B gives lecture and explanation without power point and can talks in easy to understand english for foreign student. Take her. You won't regret it!

Took her online class and gotta say she's hands down one of the best professor I've had in De Anza. She gives you extra credits for helping your classmates out with topics/concepts they don't understand. She uses Cengage for textbook and assignments and I love how simple and easy-to-use it is. Get ready to read and do all your homeworks!

I took this Prof. for 1A 1B end up with two A+ grades. Consider an easy A. There is no lecture during the whole course. You learn while doing homework. Just make friends with CHE?? website and you will get an A grade. Minimum the mistake on weekly quizzes. Earn yourself more room for making mistakes on midterm and final. Take this Prof. if ONLINE

The class was enjoyable and the material was helpful. Hw, quizzes, and exams were on Cengage, and there was 1 HW/quiz per chapter. As long as you read all of the chapters/understand the concepts and do all of the assignments, you will do well in the class.

I took Accounting 1B and 1C w/ Professor Botsford and got an A+ in both courses. However, she does not have any Zooms or pre-recordings for her classes which is a con. Homework in on Cengage and wasn't terrible but understanding all of it without actual teachings is difficult. Was an easy A for me, but proceed with caution for your learning methods

Completely asynchronous. Final, midterm, 8 quizzes, and 8 homework assignments, all done on Cengage and autograded. No group projects. Material on textbook/canvas slides. Homework has 5 attempts per problem. Midterm and final are both 3 hours long with ~30 questions, don't underestimate they are a lot of work. For self-learners, would recommend.

Need to study textbook on your own, I think it is part of requirement for TBA course. If you don't, and expect to learn through seventy-five minute lecture twice a week, don't choose her!! she is very humorous, but the lectures are not helpful for me, only the exercises in class are helpful. willing to answer question, feel free to ask her!

The professor is engaging, but the class requires extensive self-study using the textbook. Attendance is mandatory, but lectures can be hit-or-miss. Cengage and Unstuck ai are helpful for staying on top of the material.
