Mr Wetsch gives an interesting lecture. following this lecture is a heavier workload than any other course in the faculty which is to be scrutinized to no end and torn apart offering only poor grades and no constructive criticism. Lyle is unapproachable, unkind, unclear unhelpful and all together unpleasant. TERRIBLE PROF!

Only MUN could hire a guy this pretentious. He lectures like you are already in marketing doing a refresher course, expect to learn nothing as he believes you already know it, in contradiction to the condescension he displays for students. Brutal grader with no constructive feedback to improve on. Must be afraid you'll take his job IF you graduate.

I took one of his online courses and he is very disorganized making any learning very hard. He will give you the assignments without telling requirements and test telling what the expectations are until after. I am an A student and struggled to maintain a B in his course. Not because of hard content but lack of course instruction. Avoid any class

Very sloppy course and for the most part unorganized. He messed up the midterm and ended testing chapters not yet studied. A lot of group assignments and individual work, way more than should have for a second year course. Requirements are vague, and does not answer questions very efficiently. It's hard to figure out what he wants from you.

Class was boring and too much workload. It would be inappropriate for second year level. Midterm was difficult and have unlearned materials. He gave lots of group works and many of them didn't take grades. So why were they still mandatory? SUGGESTION: avoid any his class if you want have a normal semester. Good luck!

Absolutely Terrible. Worst prof I have ever encountered at Memorial University. If you are considering taking him as a professor I would re-think doing the course at a later date or with anyone else. I have never disliked one individual more in my life. Also, do not understand how he won a teaching excellence award. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!

The WORST prof I have ever had. Very hard marker for something so simple. It's almost as he looks for ways to fail you. The workload is tremendous and not suitable for a second level course. I will NEVER take a course with him again and I would avoid him at all costs. Absolutely awful.

The absolute worst instructor I ever had. Tough grader when you follow the rubric, very rude person, overall just not the person you want to have as your instructor. STAY CLEAR!!!!!

A horrible experience. As a second year busi. student, I've had some great profs, and I know the diff. between a tough one and a bad one. Mr. Wetsch has no empathy for his students regardless of their situation, has ridiculous expectations for an online course, and treats you like a misbehaving high school student. Avoid him like the plague!

Lyle has done a good job putting together this course, so good in-fact that he won an award for it. This has given this man the worst possible ego. If you try to speak to him about an issue he will treat you like you are a small child and assume you have not done the work. I didn't think it was possible for more than half a commerce class to fail intro marketing, but he's that ridiculous it happened. I did more work in this course than my other 4 other courses combined, just to scrape a B. I went from a high A in 1210 to a low B in 2210, because Lyle is so unclear and ridiculous with his expectations. Do not take!!!!

This guys expectations for his students are beyond unrealistic.. He designed his midterm in such a way that it was near impossible for students to do well unless they memorized the whole book. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR !!!

Not a good professor. Lectures are long, boring, uninspired and provide no insights beyond the textbook. Assignment criteria are confusing and often incorrect that mislead students. Too much emphasis on proper citation on reports and insignificant details heard one time during a lecture that will later be tested on. Not an effective teacher.

He is by far the worst professor I've ever had in university. He makes it impossible to get a decent grade unless you have a photographic memory and can memorize the entire book and his boring lectures word for word. He's an unreasonable grader and his tests are ridiculously hard for a 2000 level course. DO NOT TAKE his Marketing Tactics class!!!!

His lectured consisted of him bragging of the places he has been, conferences he has taken part in and the technology he owns. The material in class was hardly on the midterm and were impossible. Not a single person got an A. The group projects were tough as nails and required a LOT of work for barely a decent grade. Absolutely would not recommend.

Man oh man, I don't even know where to begin. I spent more time on this class than my other 4 classes combined and still failed. His expectations for his students are out to lunch. Almost everyone I've spoken to in the course failed both the midterm and the group project's first submission. Avoid this prof if you want to pass/get a good grade!!

I had taken his 2210 class last semester, and it was the worst experience of my university career. The intensive slideshows and heavily weighted exams were doable, but his rating style is the most intense I have ever seen. Truly, I believe him to be an academic darwinist, seeing himself as godly. If you can avoid him, please do.

Lyle has to be the absolute worst professor that is currently teaching at MUN. He is beyond full of himself and expects 1st-year business students to produce masters-level work. Avoid like the plague!

Lyle is one of the worst professors teaching at MUN, but it's the faculty that's to blame considering he hasn't been fired despite many student complaints. A lot of people fail his course (business 2210) each semester yet he's still allowed to teach. An intro to marketing course just shouldn't be that hard lol

Lyle clearly knows his material well, so his classes are informative. But he will fail you. He is prideful and has a massive ego. His grading matrix is flawed because if you miss one thing out of 5 you'll only get 1 or 0 points even if you got the rest right. I have never failed or dropped a course, but I could not complete his. STAY AWAY.

Personally, I was enjoying this course at first. I received two FAILING MARKS in this course which is an ELECTIVE. Lyle is not clear on what he wants within an assessment, posts long lectures on top of notes, quizzes, simulations, and overall seems as if he expects his students to be SMM geniuses. SAVE UR GPA AND DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE.

I am almost finished a BBA with an A average. I started a Marketing course with him and boy was it a horrible experience. There is so much wrong with him it is hard to know where to start. MUN should be ashamed to have such a person teaching. The good ratings must be from his friends or himself. Please avoid.

Worst experience I've had with education in my life. MUN must act to remove him from their establishment due to the harm he is causing. How many are unnecessarily failing due to his unacceptable behaviour. I had the unfortunate experience of overhearing how he talks about students which has left me extremely unhappy with this so called teacher.

I will NEVER take a course taught by Lyle again. A toddler can sympathize better than him and he does not care at all about students. Clearly he believes that this course should be #1 on everybody's priority list. I completed an assigned project and he REMOVED it from the database and made me redo the entire project. MUN DO SOMETHING PLEASE!

Horrible! Multiple long videos to watch that teach very little. Many assignments that had a lot of mistakes that he corrected just before the deadline with no extension. I worked for hours a day on the assignments that were complicated and confusing. They covered material he did not teach yet. Group project was a horrible. MUN, please fire him!

Please read the poor reviews because they are very accurate. The positive ones use similar language and are probably written by a friend or family. He should not be teaching anywhere. The worst instructor I have ever had during many years of going to school.

The course is called 2205 now. Don't take he is worst professor in mun. Long recorded lecture not worth the money + you have to simulation and stuff that like 150 dollars. will deduct mark if you miss (.) in the file name. I don't know why hes like that. The awesome review are definitely fake. He will make you regret why are you in MUN.

The worst teacher I have ever experienced at MUN or anywhere. He was critical of minor mistakes, but made multiple mistakes in the first assignment that he refused to acknowledge until the day before the due date. He does not build students up, but rather gives an assignment then rips it to shreds. Choose a real Professor.

Long recorded lectures up to 5 hrs a week. You must watch to know the answers to quizzes Challenging group projects. We use BrandPro and MixPro simulations. Great experience, but I wish there was more guidance and feedback from him. Rogue grading Heavy weekly quizzes with up to 3 in a single week.

AWFUL!!!! He seems to be pretty obsessed with himself and perhaps should have been in TV or radio since he loves sitting in his basement recording himself and redundant material. His ego seems threatened by online schooling and his need to control everyone and everything is pervasive. 15/10 do not recommend.

Narcissistic and passive aggressive, he displays an attitude which honestly brings down MUN's education as a whole. It feels like he's doing us the students a favor by teaching us by making snarky comments throughout the semester. He uses all his courses to promote his own business just so he can get more views on his Youtube page. The work load is ridiculous and unnecessary because if you have any online literacy you know everything he's already teaching.

Avoid Lyle Wetsch's courses. The workload is insane: quizzes, assignments, certifications, simulations, and unbearably long lectures. You're forced to create LinkedIn posts and a YouTube channel that feels graded like pro content. Class average is 58%. Unless you're a social media genius, you'll struggle. Save your GPA and pick another prof.

Lyle Wetsch has got to be the worst professor at Memorial University. I have taken over 20 courses now at mun and never thought an online 2000-level business course would give me as much trouble as it has. He is completely obnoxious and grades horribly. He is super strict with deadlines and the smallest details for assignments. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Took this course because I thought it was going to be easy and boy was I wrong. This was by far my hardest course of the semester and took up 90% of my time. The content was easy but there was hours upon hours of work a week. He grades super hard and even if you name A FILE WRONG by missing a "." he will give you a 0. DONT TAKE!

I never complain about professors, but this is someone you should avoid at all costs. Enormous amount of work every week, repeated testing via all sorts of methods, quizes, individual project assignments, group project assignments, group final presentation, textbook assignments, mandatory hand holding reading through textbook, knowledge quizzes etc

I've had to take Lyle a few times (unfortunately my only option) and he's definitely one of the most difficult professors out there. He expects you to sink at LEAST 8 hours a week into course materials and that's not even counting the required materials for grading. His emails to any questions or concerns are always belittling, avoid at all costs.
