Very helpful and is willing to go out of her way to help you understand. She enjoys teaching and it shows.
Good teacher i got a B when i easily coulda of gotten an A but i am a slacker
I think I she gave me a D in this class for saying that I only need math for taking percentages off of prices in my head. Calculus still sucks and a year later I have yet to use it.

Be careful when you take MAT224 with Dr.Phy! You may feel that you understand the material but really Dr.Phy class doesn't prepare you well for MAT 311
if you ever have a problem she'll help you. she's very clear in her lessons.
easy class and a really nice prof.
Very nice, great teacher. Makes everything easy to understand.
Awesome Teacher, if you do not like Math, Take her, she makes it interesting and she gives examples that are in the same form as on the test. She is HUMAN!
she is very helpful and very clear...go to class review for test and your set..theres only 4 test and you get one more grade for group work that counts as a test grade.
She is an excellent teacher!!!
Very strict grader.
Dr. Phy teaches from her notes. She is very organized and VERY systematic. Come to class, listen carefully, and take good notes. You won't be disappointed.
Excellent
Awesome teacher, easy B tough to get an A.
Man, this girl is hot! She makes math kind of fun. Great teacher if you're not a math major. Just show up to class and take good notes, pay attention.
if you dont like group work dont take her. group work is done everyday. i have anxiety about math and am embarresed to ask ?s in the group so it makes me not want to come to class. but she is really nice and helpfull.
Easiest class ever. She is an easy grader and feels very sympathetic. The group work is easy since you compare answers, but she grades it fairly tough. My best math teacher/prof. ever! I just wish I could take her again.
great prof!!! she is so nice and is willing to help her stundents out in any way to understand. when it comes to grading she awards you for trying. group work is real cool...counts as a test! absoltely recommend her! she's a smokin hottie too1
She's way hot and really easy going. I think she's the nicest individual I've ever met. She really appreciates anyone with an interest for math and extends just as much for the losers who disrupt
MY FAVORITE TEACHER
I worked so hard in this class, even going for help and trying didn't help much. Dr. Phy was very helpful in the beginning, but then it seemed as though she got mad that I needed her help. Guess I didn't suck up enough!
Dr. Phy is very helpful if you need extra help. If you have a choice in the math classes, always choose her, because she is very good at explaining things. She is very clear on what she expects for her exams and homework. Very good teacher.
The nicest lasy i have ever met, was so helpful and made a class that was horrible very delightful
She is so hot it makes me go to every class and do well for the most part

Very nice lady. Foundations of Mathematics was a freaking hard class, but she was really cool and helped as much as she could. I wouldn't recommed taking this class for fun; but if you have to, try to get her!
Dr. PHY ROCKS!!!! shes such an amazing professor and really helpful. I hated math class but when i took her she really rook the time out to make sure everyone was on the same page.
Great mathematician, I would be delighted to have her as a colleague, but not a teacher. Too much memorization for a math class, rather than aiming to teach understanding of concepts. With time, I think she'll get better, though. Oh, and everyone's right. she really is a hottie.
She is out of date & boring. She acts nice but cannot teach this level of math. All other math profs use computers, but she doesnt.
She is a disaster. I really don't think she knows this subject well. My friend's brother has PHD in math and he says everything in math has geometric meaning and models. Dr. Phy gives no geometrical examples. Just writes what's in the book. She should not be teaching this course.
This is a new class and ours was the 1st to take it. Its awesome whether you're into womens studies or not and the math is SUPER EASY! Plus, dr phy is really cool and she shows that she knows what shes talking about and her interest in the subject shows through as well.
Dr. Phy was and IS the best math prof I ever had @ KU! She prepared me well for the real world and was always positive and energetic. She is down to earth and extremely helpful. She did alot for her students and I am so thankful for everything she did! Phy Rocks!!! :)
Had her in summer school to complete my edu masters. Really nice teacher. Made it fun. Even though I new the subject matter I was not bored. Very down to earth, unlike most math profs.

love her, I’ve feared taking a math class for the last 2 years of college...a friend recommended this class and now I can't thank her enough. Dr Phy is so approachable and very understanding...she understands that many of us do not enjoy math and worked with us full heartedly anyway...take this lady!
Dr. Phy is the worst teacher to take for this Math class. Her communication skills suck. Her tests are hard as hell. I do not recommend taking her.
Dr. Phy is a challenging professor. Her tests are very fair. Everything that is covered in class (or homework) is fair game, and nothing is a surprise. Her grading style is tough. Small errors are big deductions. Also, she's a little arrogant and condescending when she answers someone's question about homework or tests.
Overall it was a great class, I really enjoyed it. Don't miss class, she can be a royal bi**h about it!!! she chewed me out and told me I wasn't realistic by asking if I could get a certain grade in the course. she's pretty easy teaching wise though she's young so it's refreshing, she likes to talk about her husband and son, too so kiss up that way
Phy is great. She's super nice. Linear Algebra is one of the easier higher level courses, but you won't get an A if you don't try. If you think you can handle the class without doing the homework, you can make it without the book.
She is one of the best profs at Kutztown. She really knows how to teach effectively, probably because her mom is a teacher. She's good at breaking things down. I took 2 math courses at ku...one with Phy and one with Khanna. There was a world of difference!!
Her tests are quite hard and she has no lean way. She doesn't look her students in the eyes when talking to them. I would not recommend her.
her class was really interesting. she was pretty nice. it was definitely an easy A for me. i suggest taking it.
she is a great prof and goes over everything. DO YOUR FREAKIN HOMEWORK most of the questions on quizes AND test she get either directly or damn close to hw probs.
Dr. Phy is an excellent professor! The course material was tough, but she made it manageable. Go to class and do the homework, as the test/quiz questions are similar to them. Also, I really liked the fact that I could e-mail homework questions to her and get a quick response, which is more convenient. Definitely recommend having this teacher!
This is the second time I had Dr. Phy as a teacher. Again in this class, I felt that the exams and assignments were fair. The material was really different from other (lower-level) math courses, but I learned a good amount of it. I definitely recommend Dr. Phy!
SHE WILL NOT GIVE YOU ANY OFFER EVEN THOUGH SHE IS KNOW YOU HAVE TRIED YOUR BEST.
I can't tell you how much I hate math, but this course is an exception. Professor is very nice and helpful. Go to every class!! I repeat, go to every class!!! You will be put into a group with other people and should contribute. Also you'll want to be there to get the notes and do the handouts from each class.
I hate math. She did a fantastic job teaching, included enough graded material, tests were fair, not difficult. Would take her again. Highly recommended.
Textbook is online which saves you money, and you dont even need to really buy it. Show up for class and take notes. Tests are really easy, and the class is overall a fun time.
I did horrible with Algebra in high school but thought it was a breeze with Dr. Phy. She explains everything and is willing to go over any questions you have. All of our homework was online and we could try the problems as many times as we needed to get 100%. Great class. Great professor. Definitely take her if you can!
best math teacher ever
I LOVE HER! she is the coolest math teacher I have ever met. she's super smart & breaks down hard concepts into understandable terms! Do the problems in the book right before the test to help you get a better grade. but she is fabulous. if you get a chance, she is DEF worth taking!
i'm taking dr mcquaid for college algebra this semester im not good at math at all it's my worst subject dr mcquaid is willing to help and her class is extremely straight forward and easy to understand she is willing to go the pace the class needs and always is there to help if you need it. take her! you won't regret it
Took her for Adv Calc for my math minor (I am a biochem major). Was unhelpful and unwilling to help even though I asked questions and did not take as many proof-based classes as the other students.
Dr. Mcquaid is wonderful. I feel she prepared me for higher level math with her method of teaching proofs. She is also very sweet, and pretty! But that's besides the point... If you're taking foundations it's an important class and I'm happy I had her.
Professor McQuaid is very nice and very helpful. Her class is moderate paced; not easy but not hard. Attend class regularly, it'll help your final grade. All homework assignments are completed online, not hard though. She gives you 2-3 class days to complete them. If you have any questions with the homeowrk, she'll be happy to go over it. Take this
Dr. McQuaid is extremely nice and helpful. She presents all material in a clear way and always checks to make sure everyone understands. Her exams me directly from classwork and homework. There is always review before the exams so you know exactly what to expect. Overall, she is the best math professor I have ever taken.
Dr. McQuaid is a great teacher. She put notes on the board that are very clear and explains the concepts. She will take us step by step through the proofs for theorems. She usually assigns a few problems every class. If you keep up with the homework, the tests are easy. She always tells you what to study and she grades fairly.
Probably one of the best math teachers I've ever had. She makes everything easy to understand and will go over things to make sure everyone knows it.
If you don't get an A its because you don't do the online homework. There's no reason to not get 100% on the hw online because you can redo the questions until you get it right. It's the only math class I know to make the tests multiple choice & identical to the practice tests. Theres 1 easy aper to write. Easy class, and really nice professor!
She is awesome! I'm in her class for Applied Calculus and she is the nicest woman ever. She is so clear and is willing to go over problems in class as long as you show up and try. She goes at your pace. She had 5 quizzes ( one dropped) and 3 tests, and the final.
This women is awesome. She was so cute and funny and made the easiest math class i've ever taken worth my time. The class itself was so easy to do well in. Attendance isn't taken, consistent homework but its a grade booster. Gives review packets before tests (and they are pretty much the tests twin). Take this class if you can!!! she's awesome!
She is amazing! I had her for Real Analysis of Calculus and I learned so much from her. Her lectures are tough but she is always willing to stay after class and office hours to go over the material with you. She is also really down to earth and knows what it is like to be a struggling college student.
She's super nice and totally helpful. I would definitely recommend her!
She's amazing!! Probably one of the best professors I have had so far at KU. She is very sweet and easy to approach if you need help. Proofs aren't easy but she does an excellent job of breaking it down to help you understand it. If you show up to class, and do the homework, you will do well.
Although, I only took her for an online class, I wish I had taken her for a class I actually had to show up to! She's the kind of prof who wants you to do well. She is very thorough at explaining things and doesn't give unreasonable work. All the work that was given made sense! She seems sweet and is understanding. She made the online class simple!
Very sweet professor who has a clear expectation for this class as long as you do all the homeworks and study you'll do well
As a non-math major, I highly recommend taking this as a math credit. She helped me even during her office hours over the summer.
Very easy class. As long as you listen to her in class and do most of the homework you will be fine. She's very clear on what you need to do and how you need to do it. No excused if you don't pass.
Honestly one of the best math professors I have ever taken. If you take her online she literally gives you a practice exam, and if you study them you will pass with no problem. I wish I could've taken her for college algebra. I would 100% recommend taking her for anything. Also if on test day she will go over whatever you do not get. Do Homework!
She is honestly a great teacher. Her Foundations class is very simple. As long as you do the homework, you understand everything. She reviews the day before a test and tells you what is on it. I should've done better than a C, but I had more challenging courses when I took this class so this class was put on the back burner for me in effort wise.
I took this class online and although I never got to meet her in person, she was very sweet over email and was willing to answer my questions every time! I would recommend getting work done before it's due so she can help you if needed and so you have time to get 100% on all of the homework assignments. Getting ahead was life saving!!
If you need an easy elective, take this one! The history portion is so easy, and there's short easy math homework due 2 times a week. The exams were in person and all multiple choice. There was a short research paper due, but it was simple. Dr. McQuaid is so sweet and will help you out with anything! This class is an EASY A if you do all the hw.
Dr. McQuaid is a very good professor to take for math classes. She will explain everything, multiple times if you need to and if you still don't understand it she will meet with you to explain. The class is hard but she makes it easier, but that doesn't mean you still need to pay attention and try your best! She is very kind, caring and helpful!
Dr. McQuaid is the best choice for math. Especially if you're not good at math, but really need the credit. The math work is very minimal and not very hard at all. The final didn't even consist of any math, and she made a Kahoot with the word-for-word questions. Highly recommend. The women's assignments are easy and very interesting!!
Prof McQuaid is a good choice. Shes very kind and very helpful. If you dont understand, shes willing to help you figure it out and shes good at explaining things. The women in math course was really fun and easy to understand! make sure you pay attention to the womens facts though. you have hw maybe once or twice a week but its easy.
She is a sweetheart; this was my easiest gen ed, but I kept going because she's so kind and caring. She's very good at explaining (maybe even overexplaining) things. There's a lot of homework, but it's easy, and you can do it multiple times. There's 3 math tests and a final on the women, but they're not even hard. Take this class if you can!!
I would take a class with this professor again in a heartbeat. Math has always been a topic I struggled with but McQuaid does an amazing job explaining things. She is very understanding if family matters or sickness comes up and you have to miss class. I loved having class with this professor.
I absolutely love professor McQuaid. I wish I could have her for all of my courses. She is very good at teaching, and makes sure that everyone understands what is happening at all times. She goes into depth with every problem, and does plenty examples. She is very kind and caring. She will check in if you miss class and send you the notes.
Very nice prof! If you have any questions make sure to email her. I took this class over the winter semester and it was great! Learned about both math and history, and reading the book helps with homework. If you want to take a math course that isn't all math, definitely take this course.
Exams were based entirely off of the study guides she gave us, which we filled out together as a class. Some questions on the exams were taken directly from homework. Most other questions were extremely similar to the ones on the study guides. She responds to emails quickly and is friendly.
She is kind, but be warned, she'll give grades with no explanation. I had no problems with her up until the end of the semester when she gave me a poor grade on the final assignment with no explanation. I was very confused as I thought I did everything correct.
Take this class if you struggle with math! Dr. McQuaid breaks down the subjects so you will understand them and is very helpful if you have questions, especially when she gets to geometry. Warning that the honors section gets extra questions on homework and tests. Passionate about female mathematicians. Homework every week. Very good professor!
She is an excellent professor. While attendance is not mandatory, it does help if your grade is between two letters. Overall, you have ~24 homework assignments through MyLabMath, 3 multiple choice math exams, 7 discussion posts, a fill-in-the-blank with two essay question final, and a project due during the final. Great if you love history!
McQuaid is so kind and she will help you if you are struggling. units were on number theory, algebra, and geometry, but it was very easy! Homework was in Pearson, as well as easy discussion posts about women mathematicians. Attendance wasn't mandatory, but you will be bumped up a letter grade if you have good attendance but you're between letters.
Dr. McQuaid is a very kind professor, and even through an online course her personality shines. She makes her expectations clear in a series of announcements. There are regular math homework assignments, and approximately eight discussion posts about female mathematicians. The math is incredibly easy, so take this if you struggle with math!
amazing class. i got to rant about russian history for a math class final. the world is beautiful. take this class if you hate math. it's super easy stuff and interesting even if u don't like history
