She is a ****!!!!!! She dropped me from the class and didnt tell me till the last day that class was over. I did all the work and everything and didnt tell me. It took me 7 months to get that F off my sheets. I had to take it over.

She's horrible! Don't even think of taking her unless you want the F!!! If your wanting to Fail College she's a great professor!

Worst class I've ever taken. Unclear about everything. It was supposed to be a Mythology class, but it turned into a Film class. Easy to get a passing grade if you know what you're doing, but not a class to take for an easy grade.

Horrible class...i had to drop it because i was getting a grade i know i didnt deserve. Dont take this class because i even went to tutors and they told me i wasnt doing anything wrong...but she said otherwise.

a very dumb teacher. the whole class was about writting a 5-8 page paper about a candy. i got bored ease. i didnt like her at all and i'm sure you wont once you see her. thats how i felt the first time i seen her.(i just kenw and i'm sure you will too)

Not a good professor. Her expectations and standards are set way too high, especially considering that she practically teaches nothing in her classes. She often gives examples of what to write, yet when you follow her guidelines EXACTLY, she will mark you off for it! avoid at all costs.

She is too hard and all she lectures is not way out of subject she can't teach. She is also mean and can and will embarrest you infront of people so yeah don't take her!!!

It is amazing how some profs. are able to have a job. This prof. falls in that category. Had her for mythology, she didnt really teach diddly squat. We pretty much taught the class with our uselss presentations on topics no one cared about. I would not take her expecting to learn about mythology. Of all the teachers i have had, this one was the worst. I took her class in 2003. Now i shutter when i think back to what it was like in her class. She has a huge out of style afro and she trys to make herself seem as if shes more of an intelectual than she really is. Discouraged me to go to school at one point. Avoid her. worst teacher ever.

You won't learn to write better. She loves to fail student. I advice you to take some else.

I do not recommend this professor at all. Professor Heights expects from you to get that extra help out side of class instead of her taking three to five minutes of her time to explain it to you. DONT take her.

NOOOOO! Stay away from this lady. She is not clear on assingments. She will give you a test, grade it then tell you what she wanted on the test. She is nice but she should not be teaching. Even if you need a class to fill do not take her.

she teaches one thing and then tells you not to use that like what the heck. she talks so much and does not get straight to the point if i did not have my SI i probably would not understand what is expected. oh and she explains everything correctly after you already turn in your paper so either way you fail.

Literally the WORST professor I have ever had in my entire life!!! No matter how hard you try or how much effort you put in she will fail you! She provides absolutely no help whatsoever, is not open to questions and when asked for help she makes the assignment even more confusing. I wouldn't recommend it if this is the last teacher available. If you take this class review the syllabus she expects you to know it by heart. Very unclear and rambles on things we do not need to know. She is also strict about people who arrive to class late if you want to take her good luck. She doesn't like students to succeed her class.

Prof Hight is the WORST instructor I've ever had. As an English major, I know what is expected in a Lit class, but Hight is unclear about assignment. She changes assignments at the drop of a hat. She is tedious and is an abomination to a classroom! NOT RECOMMENDED! She will not prepare you as a writer. Take someone else if you value your education!

First of all I got a B from this class so my anger with this professor doesn't stem from a bad grade. No, this professor is just terrible. She reminds me of Kronk when he says the "Poison for Kuzco" sentence 4 different ways. It's bad. And because she repeats herself you get lost. You don't even go into lore!That's why i took the class!

DO NOT TAKE CLASS!!!!She is an awful professor and is VERY unclear with all her assignments. She let's you fall into your mistakes and she is an EXTREMELY tough grader who doesn't let anyone get a better grade than a C if you're lucky. After the first week of class over 20 students dropped the class and I knew then that I should have dropped too.

Dont take this class, she doesn't give out clear assignments. She takes forever to grade assignments. Her answer for when you need help is go to the writing center and get a tutor. She is a horrible teacher and is unwilling to truly teach an English class. If your a Christian please beware she doesn't have anything good to say about Christianty.

she lectures a lot during class. grades hard on work. once told me i got a "A" on a paper but since i had a few run-on sentences, i got a "D". some days there is no hw and other days she assigns projects, essays, and reading.

This is one of the hardest professors I have ever had. She would mark you down on sentence structures that were not even wrong. Almost every assignment I did was counted as "plagiarism". She is a very tough grader and her directions are very unclear. I never got over a C+ on anything. I highly recommend to not ever take this class.

HORRIBLE! Worst professor ever! She does not clarify the homework, her answer is always to go to the lab and work with a tutor instead of helping and trying to find an alternative way to help the students. Every paper I have gotten returned was ALWAYS labeled "plagiarism". BEWARE, DO NOT TAKE HER UNLESS YOU ARE BRAVE ENOUGH TO TRY AND HOPE.

do not recommend, too much work. you can actually skip Eng 68 and take a class that's eng 66 and A1 combined. ask your counselor about it

Grading is difficult and not very clear. Didn't post grades anywhere, and when you asked her about your grade she didn't know.

I took her for credit and i didn't pass. She is very vague with directions when giving homework, class work, and help in general. In my opinion i don't think she was very professional. She would constantly take her shoes off in class and give a ton of a homework. Do not take her unless you are ready to work harder than her. :(a

when it comes to grading, the word "ridiculous" us an understatement. for example, on our VERY FIRST quiz, when it came to my answers, i got a perfect score, but just because i did not skip lines, she gave me a 0. again, i repeat, OUR FIRST QUIZ. don't do it people, just don't do it!!

She takes her shoes off in class and switches to some high heels that she can not walk in. The best way to describe her is the MLA Nazi. her favorite words are plagiarism and D&J( if you take her class you will understand) I only took her class because they switched the CRN numbers, so I was forced to take her.

I took her class for Spring semester because it was the only class opened. I had read all the comments about her before and all of them were right. In her eyes EVERYTHING is PLAGIARISM and D&J. All my papers received a C+ or a D because of D&J. You have to skip lines on her in-class essays or automatically marked with a bad grade.

Im so good in English and once I took her its like I went from a A to a F in English. She gave me a D on an assignment because I wrote over a half of page. I thought more was better but I guess not. Also she likes to talk a lot like non stop.

This was my first English professor for the fall semester. I kinda regret taking this class literally regret it!!!! she doesn't know how to teach or explain the work and always say to go to the writing center. I went every Sunday got the help I need and still would give me a bad grade. Beware of her quizzes, a lot of homework and panel Report!!! :(

Makes you feel stupid for asking questions

On-campus it was very difficult so transitioning to online I knew it would be more difficult and it was... She was very unclear w/ assignments. I would always have to email her but yet failed to explain. The tc was helpful but definitely do not recommend this professor. I failed and turned in every single assignment&would receive 0 credit for them.

Do you want to write a 2000+ word essay that will be graded like trash? No? Well don't take this class if you don't want to be crushed by quizzes and tests that you will spend all day working on. Although I still like mythology, this professor is the worst person to make someone want to expand their knowledge.

TOUGH GRADER!! i cannot stress this enough. if you dont do an assignment right she tells you to take a look at the module again and just doesnt explain how your work was wrong. also tells you to see a tutor, but i would not need to see a tutor if she just explains things well!!

Very tough grader and also very unclear with instructions. Literally gave me a zero on an assignment because I wrote a 10 line quote rather than a 7 line one. Gave me barely any corrections on a rough draft, so I fixed them. Than gave me a worse grade on the final draft for stuff that wasn't mentioned before. Takes off 20 points for 1 small error.

Confusing and not very helpful

This teacher is extremely tough. She wants everything to be perfect. I am taking this class online and she mainly only give 24 hrs to complete an assignment the way she wants it. She doesn’t do good explaining. If I wouldn’t know how she was I wouldn’t have picked her. She seems very rude even over email. Good luck to all

Difficult grader and often will not let you start a new assignment without grading the previous one . Graded the papers really late.

Absolutely horrible professor, she tell you to go to the tutor rather than give corrections. Why she still works there astounds me, she is by far one of the worst professors I've had. I've had better teachers in High School. No matter how good your essay is, you will be marked down to a zero because of something small.

This professor is overly nitpicky about minuscule things. It could be something so small and she will dock you for half a grade. A lot of the students in my class were struggling. The professor makes doing her assignments even harder just because the class itself is terrible.

Very rarely responds to emails unless you contact the higher ups for help. Grades slowly, very harshly, and her reviews don't help you improve for the future assignments. Take if you really love mythology and if you're super confident with your writing. I maintained a B but the time was not worth it, other courses can fulfill the same credits.

Professor Hight is the toughest teacher and grader I've had throughout my college career. She will have you revise papers over and over, and she will rarely ever provide personal feedback on how to fix the issues with your assignments. You will be directed to the tutor center, and they are also aware of her harsh standards. Do not risk your GPA!

I would recommend to Never take a class by Lynette Hight. Lynette will grade anyone terribly. She will give you 1 point out of 50 .Lynette really seems like she hates her job , if she hates it so much why keep teaching . Terrible teacher that will make you want to drop out of college. I would giver her zero stars if possible.

3 weeks. I have had her for 3 weeks and on something as simple as my first synopsis of a story she gave me an F. I'm horribly upset and would never imagined how little help I would get from this teacher. She never responds to emails, quick to accuse of plagiarism in an assignment that is meant to have my personal input, like a discussion post.

I had to list this as an English class, but I took Professor Hight's Children's Literature class. DO NOT take the class. The professor is really picky about MLA format despite the discussion board on CANVAS not recognizing the format. Points are docked off of homework for no reason too even if you do everything that is required. Save yourself.

AVOID! She docks off points for everything, does not respond to a single email even though this was a fully online class, and does not make exceptions, even for things like being evacuated. She is the worst professor I've ever had, and for someone who is a good writer, getting even a C felt impossible. Do not take her!

She's overly picky about your writing and will give you the most vague notes on what you did wrong and how you can fix it. She'll give you a 6/50 (probably less) if you make 1 or 2 mistakes, or even if she just didn't like something she read. She doesn't teach as detailed as she wants our writing to be. Also rude and condescending.
