Lectures are entertaining because she applies the info to real life. Tests in her lower level classes are multiple choice. Opportunities for extra credit.
Very unpleasant
She was rude and completely full of herself. Honestly in my opinion she has no business teaching, she was very hatefull and nonunderstanding to a handicapped student in our class. Explains and applies well, but there are better teachers for this course.
awful

I think this teacher has a good sense of humor
She has her good points and her bad points. She is very blunt and students sometimes don't like that but she just doesn't sugarcoat ANYTHING for you. I, personally, loved her class.
Dr. Haller, is tough but cares about her students, she doesn't pull punches and forces you to be your best. I give her credit for most of the success that I have gained in my life. Made me find my own greatness and wouldn't lay off until I had my degree..
should keep her children home
Rude, and hateful. She seemed to dislike women and made some of us feel like we were nothing. Her tests were very hard and confusing!
Her lectures did not articulate with her tests.
She makes the class fun and interesting. Note: She is a communist!
She went way too fast and didn't really take time to explian stuff. I did horrible on the first test and dropped the class.
I love Dr. Haller to death! I think she is a marvalous professor. SHe is challenging, but hey, it's college! And she has no problem helping you out when you need a hand. Talk to her, and participate in class. She's eccentric but great!
Her lectures are NOT what are on the tests. BESIDES that... Her lectures, however, are very funny & interesting. She is extremely friendly & nice & hilarious.
great teacher, but dont walk in front of her
horrible
Awesome person! Definitely cares about her students and deserves a pepper!!!! I think some people are confused and think college is an easy handout, yeah think again, life is not like that, you are in charge of your own sucess.
If you're female, interested in clinical/counseling psychology, & dare to disagree with anything she says, beware. She has no problem with vindictive grading. Lectures contained frequent incorrect, biased and offensive information. If you're an independent thinker, avoid her -- she's a fan of sycophants and will not tolerate dissenting opinion.
Interesting lectures, tests are somewhat challenging, regular attendance absolutely necessary
Hard, but I got an A. Pay attention. Go to class. Do the extra credit (if she gives it) and study... oh wait you're supposed to do that in every class. She's hilarious and knows her stuff. Brilliant lady, Great class
Love this woman she's so hilarious and is a great teacher. Do her study sessions and extra credit and what not, pay attention. DEFINATELY TAKE ALL THE NOTES SHE GIVES!!

I love her! She's funny and keeps class interesting! She is the reasoning I switched my major to psychology...She is now my advisor! Great person....really short tho! LOL
Haller roxs! Only @ this college for 1yr & she's 1 of the few professors I try 2 visit! She's funny, smart, & cares a lot about her students. Contrary 2 a prior post, she welcomes argument in class as long as ur smart enough 2 defend it. Also, if u find the info she gives 2 b offensive, then counciling is the last field of study you need to be in.
She is a lot of fun! Funny, helpfull, always willing to work with you. plus she will never forget you. The class is hard! She is nice but dont think she waters down the course any.
Dr. Haller is my advisor and i only recently switched to her. Shes one of the best professors ive had all year. Just, dont walk in front of her! :D Shes always willing to help people out, and always makes sure that everyone understands the material before going on to something else, and is always willing to answer questions!
Haller has good intentions but hard tests. I failed every test even though I studied for hours but I still passed. So I recommend her only if you nedd to take psy right away
Exams are very difficult. Come to class, take notes, and ASK questions about anything that you don't understand. If she keeps talking about a topic, it WILL be on the test. Ask for examples to essay questions, and she will give them to you. Write them down, and study them. Expect to work your butt off. Stay focused...she is very energetic!
Probally one of the coolest teachers on campus.. Very laid back and very funny. A must take class for anyone wanting a fun experiencing class
Haller is awesome, she defniately will help with whatever questions you have, althought she seemed to put most of the questions on her TA. There were review sessions before each test that werent mandatory but helpful. most of her notes were on powerpoint.. expect hard tests, fun lectures, lots of sex jokes, and lots of reading..
She is very rude and she doesn't care about her students! Nothing she says is clear and doesn't relate to the tests she gives! Would not recommend taking her...Stay as far away as possible!!
Haller is a great teacher. If you have a question while she is lexuring she will stop and try and explain it better. But you have to ask her. Ask questions. She helped me to get better grades on my tests. They are hard but if you are having problems go to her and she will help. I failed till I talked to her now I'm good. She's great.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Even know a psy major who hates her!

I loved Haller, she has been one of the best teachers I've had. She has a some what crude sense of humor and there are quizzes at the end of every class, but they're easy. As long as you come to class and take notes you will do well in her class.
Very Very hard. Really don't care about what happens in your personal life, Her class has to be your whole world
Awesome. Very fun and interesting class.
Very intelligent professor, knows a lot of good stuff but loses the effect with all of her liberal, anti-christian,and appearance of a jilted bitter ex-wife jibberish. Says not to bring book to class, listen to lectures but you must read book or you will fail. Lectures are not really applicable to the test. Could be a good teacher if she taught.
Dr haller is a wonderful teacher. She is very creative and encourages student participation. Don't take this class if you can't think for yourself. She has high expectations and expects students to learn!
Loved her, makes class easy to learn the material. So what if she doesn't believe, the class isnt a religion class. The class makes you think!ALWAYS quizes at the end of class,EASY GRADES!the test on the other hand are extremley hard, you must study but she is willing to work w/ you outside of class to help you understand if i can pass anyone can
Keeps you awake in class with her crazy highly liberal thinking. Focuses too much on the biological aspect of psychology. She will be very offensive to some people. Acts like her opinion is right. Easy quizzes and understandable lectures but impossible tests! I took her class twice and couldn't pass with anything higher than a D!
Tests require lateral thinking. Lynn is spunky, cute, cool, and definitely on the level. Her class is not for squares.
Complains a lot. Doesn't teach much.
Attendance isnt mandatory, but she gives small in-class quizzes with usually no prior notice, so you really must come to class to get all of your points. I think it's IMPOSSIBLE to get an A. I got a 95% in Intro and I have have a low 80 in Development. There are around 40 or so in the class and no one has an A. High Liberal. Nice, but beware!
Haller is the bomb in phantoms yo. Her class is never dull and the test arent hard, you just have to think abstractly its not all memorization you actually have to apply the material that you learned.
While Dr. Haller and I disagreed on many issues, I have come to see that she has the students' best interests at heart. She will most definately speak her mind, and bash George Bush and religion, but if you can look past her sarcasm and rudeness, you will see a caring professor who will make you earn your grade and defend your beliefs.
I Loved Dr Haller...Prior to the class I was told how difficult she was, but I found her class very interesting and entertaining. She is a sweet woman and a wonderful professor!
Why are you people complaining about her not "being there" for you and your problems. She's not your mammy! Sweet jesus in heaven. Cut the umbilical and GROW UP! Anyway, awesome teacher. Always go to class because her explanations are clear and entertaining. But, don't be an idiot. Read the book to!
(*sorry. rated for wrong class and I registered*)Why are you people complaining about her not "being there" for you and your problems. She's not your mammy! Sweet jesus in heaven. Cut the umbilical and GROW UP! Anyway, awesome teacher. Always go to class because her explanations are clear and entertaining. But, don't be an idiot. Read the book to!
Absolutely horrible teacher. Bitter old woman with an offensive sense of humor. Pushes her ideologies on you. Lazy test-making; every question has none of the above as an option. Poorly formatted tests. Tests over stuff you don't go over in class. Pushes a lot of responsibility on GAs. Way too much material per test. Take at your own risk, guys.
A lot of liberal mumbo jumbo. Very opinionated and vocal about how she feels. Very very very easy class, though. I facebook all class and I've got a 102%.
Wish I had never taken her, tries to enforce her beliefs on you. Has one way of thinking and is not very intelligent. Didnt really learn all that much. She flirts with the boys, and im pretty sure her tests were unfair. Very opinionated and Very rude. I might even say she was crazy. Some like her because she will talk aboutsex, but they also failed
She is very smart and really knows what she is talking about. She keeps the class so interesting and her tests were def from her lectures so make sure you go to class. Its worth going to class though.
Dr. Haller is a very intelligent and opinionated woman, don't take this class if you get offended by liberal view points easily. She never forces her opinion on you though, just makes you fully aware of it. By far this is the most interesting class I have ever taken! She makes lecture very interesting! Make sure you take notes during lecture.
Very liberal. Picks favorites and is sometimes rude. Overall an interesting class though and not very hard.
She's very outspoken and goes on tangents a lot, but she is hilarious and makes the class super interesting. She won't go easy on you, but there are lots of opportunities to get a good grade in this class.
must know the info for tests, she is funny and intertaining but not very open-minded (her way is right), knows her stuff
I learned a lot in her class, but must study lots for quizzes and test...crazy lady
Extremely disorganized class, vague assignment prompts, tedious assignments, contradicts herself, vindictive grading, plays favorites. 1st C in my entire life
Excellent teacher, you will learn a lot and she will challenge you to do your best (a quality most teachers don't have).
She's quite humorous. Don't take her if you don't want to get your boat rocked and are not very open minded. She's difficult and attendance is crucial. She's a great professor, easily top five on campus. I HIGHLY recommend her.
One of the better professors on campus. She really pushes you!!
Fun lectures. Real difficult. Attendance is important.
My favorite proffesor I've had so far! She gives amazing interesting lectures. Not that great for the close minded students. She's really enthusiastic about what she teaches.
keeps your attention in class so its hard to fall asleep, very intertaining, go to class and do the work (half of it is participation points), review the notes for tests and your guranteed to pass
human sexuality: very fun and interesting class, she is very opinionated but is still open to others opinions, is always up for a discussion, she wants you to think or youself
She has a great personality, but my biggest pet peeve is that she looses your work alot. Make sure you save EVERYTHING when you turn it in..expect to turn some assignments in at least twice. Unorganized.
Had her for intro, loved her so much I took her for life span. She's awesome at what she does, but very outspoken and strong willed, which I love about her. If you don't mind her being very open minded and opinionated, then she's great for class. She really knows her stuff and you can tell that she loves her job. She's one of my favorite professors
She is absolutely great! She is always willing to help her students as long as she sees they put an effort forth. I would take her for every single class if I could!!
This is one of the hardest classes I've ever taken. The only reason I got an A in the class is because I did 20+ hours of extra credit. The exams are difficult, the assignments poorly laid out. She is inconsistent in her grading, and is not helpful at all.
I took Dr. Haller for Lifespan Dev. Psychology. Her class was the hardest summer course I have ever taken. She assigned a lot of material and she was not very helpful if you encountered any problems online. Would not recommend.
least helpful professor I've ever had, her study guides are NOTHING like the exams, she's one of those people who strive to have the unpopular opinion just because it makes her unique which is completely annoying, the powerpoints she tries to use in class have only pictures so good luck trying to study
I've had Dr. Haller for several courses and as an advisor. She is, hands down, the most helpful advisor and professor you could ask for. She genuinely cares about her students and does expect a lot from you. Excellent teacher, and fun and interesting courses!
Dr. Haller is by far my favorite professor. She is always there to help and always keeps the class entertained. For an almost three hour class she does a great job of keeping my attention! Wish I could take all of my classes with her! As long as you don't piss her off you'll do fine!
I took the online course and blackboard booted me off the tests and quiz's almost every test I took. The class Is a ton of busy work and I recommend taking it face to face. The professor was also rude and unhelpful. I want to emphasize the fact that there was an immense amount of busy work and that was unnecessary.
She is absolutely crazy. Do not recommend at all. Ridiculous amounts of busy work. worked 6 hours on one assignment and she threw a 0/100 in my face. Horrible professor
Awesome professor. She appreciates people who go above and beyond. By all means you have to work for your grade in her class, but she is more than willing to help you with whatever you need. She's my absolute favorite professor.
She makes everyone out their phones on her desk and will take ten minutes sometimes to make sure she has them all. Missed one homework and I lost all my participation points because of it. She didn't respond to my email regarding it. I recommend avoiding this teacher.
I took Dr. Haller for an online class and although she was extremely helpful, the workload that I had was unbearable. Over the course of the semester I completed 19 pre-tests, 19 chapter exams, 1 midterm, 1 final, 4 virtual babies, and 2 virtual adults. I was constantly doing something for this class. AVOID TAKING THIS CLASS ONLINE!
This woman is absolutely insane but Is an amazing professor regardless of our different views. People say she fails you. She doesn't fail you unless don't try or treat her class like its nothing. TRY, GO TO CLASS, ASK FOR HELP. It's called college.... Not preschool. Do your work and you won't fail.
I absolutely loved Dr. Haller (make sure you use doctor!). She is so much fun and uses such funny stories to relate to the material. She is very willing to help you if you need it, but make sure you come to class! She pays attention to who does and does not come. I would certainly take her again.
As long as you do the post test and read the chapters you'll do really well in the class.
Basically, this woman is extremely back and forth. She genuinely cares about her students but her tests sometimes do not make sense and she puts questions on there that were not covered in class. She is overbearing with her opinion. she claimed I am unrealistic about my goals, thus far, I have achieved all of them. Her class is hard but also easy.
Occasionally gave extra credit for Friday attendances when there was a thin turnout.
One of my favorite professors I have ever had. She genuinely cares about her students. Her goal is to make sure you learn the material, not just get the class over with. She is very blunt with her expectations for you, will never try to throw you a curveball. The class requires time but you will easily see benefits from your effort put forth.
I used to like her but she got real old real quick and I'm not talking age either! She claims to be liberal but if you pay attention she is more radical than anything else. Just try to get on her good side or else her classes will not be fun for you.
Dr. Haller is a very interesting professor to say the least. She doesn't care to state what she thinks or point you out in class. You have to show up and pay attention bc her powerpoints are crazy and unstructured. Online exams are easy. There are 2 face-to-face exams that cover A LOT of material, so study weekly after lecture and you're fine.
One of the best teachers I had at Morehead. I would defiantly take her again. Test are difficult but if you go to class and take good notes you'll do fine.
Dr. Haller is crazy and loves to talk about her personal opinions and beliefs in class, but if you can look past that, she is a great professor. She knows her stuff, and always makes sure everyone understands before moving on. She gives great examples and will explain something as many times as you need. Go to class and don't take your phone.
Haller is a great person, but this class was SO HARD. Every single class she said "If I breathe it in class, It WILL be on the test." She's very strict.
Avoid at all costs! This class is SO hard and she is 100% insane. If you aren't "open minded," as she says, you won't do good on her tests whatsoever. She words the questions in a way that you can't just know the material, you have to be able to answer her specific style of questions. Also won't email you back, and the final was 60 true or false.
Not the best professor, nor the worst. I had her for lifespan development and although she knows the content, she is difficult and is EXTREMELY set on making the class a political debate. She will kick you out if you wear something to her class that you shouldn't such as a republican related shirt. Not the most professional.
Dr. Haller is an amazing professor. She genuinely cares for her students and their success. As long as you read the book, take notes, and go to class you will do just fine. Haller is very good about responding to emails and answering any questions you may have in the class. Best professor I've had while at Morehead.
You will either love Dr. Haller or hate her entirely. She jumps around on her slides and doesn't talk through them clearly so take as many notes as possible and be thorough. Warning if you take her next semester she has stated she will no longer post her powerpoints on Blackboard. Make sure you read the textbook even though she never gives homework
Dr. Haller was definitely very opinionated and not afraid to share her feelings. She often got off topic with her opinions on things. Her class wasn't one that I looked forward to but couldn't miss. She runs through slides quick and gives tests after a couple lectures on a subject. Tests are the only grades in this class.
All she does all class is go on rants about how much she hates Trump and republicans and all of her stupid, uneducated liberal ideas about everything she thinks to know everything about when she doesn't even know how to teach a class that has nothing to do with those rants. Worst professor at Morehead State. Most definitely needs to be dealt with.
She is horrible. If you're slightly religious or republican, don't come. She is very offensive, and her entire lecture is very based on her opinions. Get ready to write your hand off. She is a very rude person and should probably just consider acting professional. Really.
This makes the second semester Ive had Dr. Haller in a row. I had her for intro; now I have her for Lifespan and another course. She really makes you work for the grade you get and is very opinionated. She is hilarious and coming to class absolutely helps you in the long run because she uses a TON of metaphors and real life examples.
Dr. Haller is one of the best teachers Ive had in my entire educational career. She describes things in ways that make sense to students and genuinely cares about her students.
This woman genuinely cares for her students' success and is hilarious in lecture. She will not spoon-feed you, but if you attend lecture and learn the material you WILL get an A. There is a 4% cushion in this class from SONA credits and she makes sure to relate concepts to everyday experiences. If you perform poorly with Haller, it is not her.
She is the worst professor on campus. She constantly goes off on tangents and is extremely unprofessional in teaching. I have never met a professor as bad as her. She should not be teaching Psychology, let alone any class. Anyone that even remotely likes her is insane. Go to a doctor.
I've had Haller before but sat in the back & didn't participate in class. This time around I sat in the front & participated & it really makes all the difference. She's a great professor & will always answer your questions without making you feel dumb. Very opinionated & she doesn't care what you think about it (esp politics & feminism wise)
Haller is definitely opinionated and her classes can be rough if you dont put in the effort. But I can honestly say she makes lectures pretty unforgettable because shes incredibly animated and hilarious.
Lynn Haller is a hilarious teacher to have, but if you dont pay attention and study you wont receive a good grade.
There is 16 tests plus the final so 17. Those are not too bad as long as you read the material and powerpoints. But as far as the papers go she grades them very harshly and gives no leeway, the papers caused me to get a C in the class when I got an A on all of the tests.
Dr. Haller is incredibly misunderstood. Sure, she has unorthodox classroom rules, but theyre only in effect for your benefit to stay focused in class. Her exams are rigorous, but Ive learned mounds of information taking her. And yes, she has a political side, but its time to stop being soft and realize theyre examples to help you learn.
Dr. Haller is an amazing professor. She gets a bad wrap, because her methods are unconventional. But, if you go in with an open mind, you're gonna have a great time in her class. Her class is very lecture heavy, if you miss a day you're screwed. Also, if you're having a hard time, go to her office hours. She's willing to help if you reach out.
She thinks shes fair, but shes not. She has very strict rules that make her life easier. I think that makes her lazy & out of touch.
Haller is thorough, however you still need to do some reading in order to prepare for the exams. Sometimes she will lecture over topics on exams, sometimes she won't, all the more reason to read. Her lectures are never boring though, and she makes some excellent points. She may be strict, but she can teach lifespan development very well.
Haller is the best professor ever. She prepares you for graduate school and doesn't sugarcoat anything. Her realistic view on school and the field of psychology is very helpful! 10/10 would take her classes again.
Despite her opinionated/biased nature, and her disdain for religion, Haller is actually a good professor. She's very familiar with the material being covered, and truly enjoys teaching it. She encourages the class to ask questions, and provides multiple examples to help you better understand what is being discussed. She's pretty funny, too.
Dr. Haller was one of the worst professors I have ever taken in my college career. She is very inconsiderate of her students and unprofessional. She failed me for the entire class for being 16 minutes late on an assignment and i had a 97 at midterms.
You either love or hate Dr. Haller, there really is no in bet
You either love or hate Dr. Haller, there really is no in between. At first she seems like a complete ass but if you talk to her you quickly see how nice she is. Shes very VERY vocal on her political views. Shes always in her office and always willing to help... if she knows you will help yourself. Great mentor and advisor as well.
Changes deadlines in syllabus without announcing them. Always check the syllabus!!
Changes syllabus and doesn't let anybody know. Posts an announcement saying a paper is due the day after it was supposed to be due. Very rude especially to any nursing students. Tells you to write about your own opinion in papers and then give you a zero because your opinion is "incorrect". I recommend taking this class at a community college onl.
She is very paranoid, does not use proper grammar or spelling in task instruction or quiz question, this can cause major confusion. It really shows how little she cares. I would not recommend, especially not online.
Amazing lecture! However, when we had to switch to online ('Rona), I noticed a drastic decline of the quality of education I was receiving from her (from great lectures to almost completely self-teaching). She was also not very understanding or patient with me when my internet went out; she probably just thought I was lying even though I had proof.
VERY particular about assignments, specifically writing. She is very against cheating and claims that she write all of her own questions. I can confirm every single question is pulled straight from quizlet. Its fine if you want to be anti-cheat, but when you pull the questions from online, dont be shocked.
Dr. Haller is very strict with guidelines. She will not bend the rules for you, unless you have a valid excuse that falls under MSU policies or abides by her syllabus. It's very irritating. Because of covid, this class was made to be online, and she only emailed us once a month to remind us the work was due. I would not recommend taking her.
The class is manageable if you do your work by the deadlines, though I must say she is a tough grader when it comes to papers. I've had Dr. Haller several times and this was one of her tougher courses.
This professor was a great lecturer from previous classes; however, now that her classes are online it seems as if you teach yourself. All assignments must be completed or a student fails, and the class was mostly quizzes/exams. This professor expected professional use of grammar while sending cluttered emails and has unorganized information on BB.
I was under the impression that this class would not be that bad since there were only 5 exams and 4 brochures but the exams were extremely hard and she graded the brochures to the point where it was pretty much impossible to get a good grade.
Assigned our class to create pamphlets, provided a very lenient rubric that said to be creative. Failed almost everyone in the class because the work didnt meet her expectations. Emailed her about it, she refused to let me redo or get more credit. My work at least deserved a C not a 0 very discouraging! first class I might fail.
This class will take up a lot of time and most exams take place during campus breaks. Be prepared to spend every minute outside of class reading the book and studying for the exams. She allows multiple attempts on the exams but you can't see what questions you missed. One of the only ways to get bonus points is by signing up for SONA research.
Dr. Haller shows no care for her online classes. She has very vague rubrics/expectations, and doesn't provide much material. You are teaching yourself, and she is little to no help. With little communication, loose expectations, harsh grading, and no teaching whatsoever, this class is orchestrated for students to fail. Find another professor!
Worst professor I've ever had. Left Morehead and will never go back thanks to her. You have to pass her class to graduate as a psych major and it's more about appealing to her ego than doing work. She doesn't teach and all provided materials are barely helpful at all since assignments and quizzes are all ripped from quizlet. Don't buy the textbook.
This teacher made fun of me and made me feel like I was stupid. I moved out of America because I didn't wanna be in the same country as her. Her grading scale is insane as well as her personality. The emails she sent made me cry every night. She seems to get enjoyment out of being evil. She would never give me a hug.
Highest grade i’ve gotten in any of her classes is a C. Her work load is excessive and you truly don’t learn anything, in-person and especially online. Seemed to enjoy making fun of students and failing them. Genuinely the worst professor I have ever had in my life so it’s tragic that she teaches many required classes
Dr. Haller is genuinely one of the worst professors I've had. She tries to bring her political opinion into every aspect of the lecture possible, which takes away from content. Has made several sexist and transphobic comments that were downright hurtful to students. Brags about being protected by her tenure. Blackboard is messily organized.
Her class was almost impossible to pass. Tests are not based on the books. Class was not structured AT ALL. Sent out emails that felt like she was judging people who weren't going at the correct "pace" for her class when there wasn't set due dates/structure to the course to begin with. Never again will I take one of her classes.
Although something happened in that class that was my fault, I still value Dr. Haller's opinion and respect her as a teacher. She is an amazing teacher, the best one I have had. I just don't agree with how she pushes her political beliefs but I just brush that off. She is a hard grader with papers, so you pretyy much have to do perfect on them.
Dr Haller is a difficult teacher to take; a tough critic on essays (know APA!) and expects a high level of effort into our work. Comparative Psych has a heavy paper load & a lot of reading. Get the books! Participation is required during discussions! She's strict but gives great feedback and explains content well. Demanding but rewarding!
I liked having Dr. Haller as a professor. She is a developmental psychologist and is extremely passionate about the subject and made lectures enjoyable. One thing I will note is that she does state her personal beliefs wherever applicable. If you can't get over that this class will definitely less enjoyable for you. She is a good teacher though.
Did every single assignment, had an A. Turned in one assignment out of order and she failed me for the entire class during finals week. You pass on luck or by keeping your head down and hoping she doesn't notice you. Good luck if you have to take her class, you will legit need it to pass. She seems most motivated by a general hate for students.
Took her for several undergrad classes, 156 was a very overwhelming class but most of the ones after that felt less bad. Lectures felt useless for understanding the content (very tangential). Every class was a series of like 4-6 all multiple choice tests and almost nothing else. Professor is extremely rude and I avidly hated going to her classes.
Horrible on all aspects. Hates God and really voices her hatred often. Vulgar, rude, crass, arrogant, and closed minded. Uses GD constantly yet doesn't believe in God. Ridiculous and psychotic.
