great teacher- knows his stuff

Really informative & pretty entertaining teacher, pay attention in class & you will do good on his kinda hard tests.

Professor Jones is the most brilliant professor I've had. His class is challenging with only three tests usually and two research labs, but he prepares you for each test to the point where if you fair poorly it's nobody's fault but your own.

Prof. Jones is great his style of lecture is both educational and entertaining. His comments on the tx constitution are especially humorous. You have to take 2 govt. classes so you may as well have an entertaining teacher. Also Betsy Brody is great also.

Took for both gvts. All lecture format. No curves ever. No bonuses. Honest, admits mistakes, doesn't try to trick you. Great prof for half-way intelligent students. A good % of class usually drops for failing grades. Don't miss his deadlines. He's serious & doesn't play. I liked him and had no probs

Professor Jones might be the most intelligent professor CCCC has to offer. Yes, his course is made up of 3 tests and 2 papers only, but if you take notes and pay attention and do all the work, you'll do fine in his class. I've got my Govt credits covered and still want to take his class again.

he's brillant and cute

This is definitely a hard professor but let me tell you, this man is brilliant! I have never been more impressed by someone's intelligence as I have with this man. He is probably the most intelligent human being I have met and for some reason this makes him very attractive as well!

He is very understanding I will give him that, but in order to pass the class you have to show up and study your butt off. The reason I say he is understanding is b/c I was sick a couple of times and he put the test in the testing center for me.

Hard Tests!!!

He's a very knowledgable and interresting teacher; you won't fall asleep during class as he adds sarcastic and critical remarks regarding the worse aspects of the political system in the U.S. You have to study, so if you're an unmotivated student trying to make your stay at the community college as easy as possible, don't take his class.

he is a good teacher. lectures are very clear. Took him in a maymester and it was well worth it! classes are long but if you study with the study guides he gives you then you should be fine!

He is an awesome professor, but his tests are very hard. You really have to study to pass his class.

His class was very interesting. Jones definitely knows about "political science". IF you know how to take GREAT notes, you shouldn't have a problem in this class. Tests are fairly hard, so study your notes! However, this is NOT the hardest class I've ever taken. I suprisingly made a "B" in this class and I was shooting for a "C"!

As many have said, Dr. Jones is a hard teacher. This is true - but he is a great one! His tests are hard - this is not an "easy A" class....but if you want to learn something, this is the class to take!! He makes it fun and interesting but this is college people - not daycare. If you want the easy way out, quit school and go work at McDonalds!!

Go to class. TAKE NOTES. STUDY the review sheet he gives you for the test. Tests are HARD if you did not attend class and take notes. Really that's it. Reading the book alone will not pass you. You will do three tests and two papers. Trust me, be there, take notes and study study study!! Otherwise he is very intelligent and passionate about Govt!

Attend class and just take notes, your text book is for your advantage only, it was never used during class. Only 2 test and 2 papers, and the test are very hard. Do not take him if you would need an A. However, he is very passionate about GOVT.

He thinks everybody has to have Political information as much as Ms.Condoleeza rice has.HARD,HARD,AND HARD...

Learned more in this class than I would have in any other govt class and loved it. took him twice and I knew I would not get an A, but I knew I would come out of the class with alot. You will come out of the class intrigued and you will want to learn more. DO NOT take him if you are lazy and never come to class

I loved this class, alhough I did not earn a very good grade. His lectures are interesting and he knows the subject well. Two lab assignments, 3 tests. I'm sad he's switching to the evening next term. I would have taken him again, knowing I would struggle during the tests. I learned alot!

This is my first class with this prof. and I must say I realy like the way he teaches, he is very knowlegable with his course and if you really want to learn about govt. I recommend taking his class. I look forward to taking 2302 next semester.

I enjoyed his class in Spring semester. You don't use your textbook that much except for maybe looking up the terms on the study sheet he gives you before the tests. You MUST take really good notes in his class because he just talks and doesn't write much on the board. He is pretty entertaining when he lectures. Must put in the work to pass.

Need to take EXTREMELY good notes and study hard. If you do that you should pass. Other than that I loved him. He was interesting to listen to. Recommend him only if you work hard.

Only use book for study guides, but majority or all of points on guides are provided in the notes. I made an A by reading the notes alone. Should pass if you actually pay attention and take notes. Loved the class, teacher was very sarcastic about government. *HINT* Write down everything and anything he puts on the board, WILL be on test.

Professor Jones is awesome. If you know the layout of his tests and you take good notes, you can make an A. He's not a tough grader and makes you write one paper. He says he's tough about it, but I made an A on both without much proofing. Just do what he asks and you can't go wrong. His lectures aren't boring, especially if you're into politics!

First thing you need to know is you do not need a text book at all, so don't waste your money. There is no homework and no quizes, just tests and an essay at the end of the year. His lectures are very repetitive and he reuses jokes a lot, no need to laugh or suck up, because there are no curves to his unreasonably hard tests. Just study the reviews

Easy, but treats his class like they're all freshmen (roll call every morning?). Don't buy the book - I NEVER used it. Lectures well, tests are short and simple, gives good reviews. Court observation lab was a pain - have to spend 2+ hours observing a court. Does not allow laptops! Comes off as gruff, but is really a nice man.

This professor is funny if you get dry/sarcastic sense of humor. He is NOT for everyone and if you are an international sutdent I wouldn't recommend taking him as he is fast paced and you need to know American History. If you can write down everything he says during lecture, he only quizes you on what he says. Study sheets are given out b4 exams.

I loved taking this class. He was so helpful and easy! he has a dry sense of humor though and he can be really sarcastic. DO NOT buy the book. You will never use it. If you miss a class, don't worry, because he pretty much answers all the test questions on the review day anyway. Great Teacher!

AWESOME PROFESSOR! Knows what he's talking about, always helpful and flexible. Always responds to emails and he is really entertaining! I am so thankful I ended up in his class. He is by far my favorite professor. He always has a test review before tests and goes over EVERYTHING on the test! He definately wants you to succeed! Dr. Jones is Amazing!

There's hardly any homework for this class and he never uses the textbook; the tests are all lecture-based.

Great teacher. Very easy to pass as long as you go to class and take notes. The tests are not hard if you study, and he also does a study sheet and devotes a class to reviewing before a test. No reason really you could fail unless you just flat out don't try. No homework, no book required.

I loved him! just listen in lecture and take notes. His lecture and notes on board go in order, I never bought the book.

Very intelligent man with a strong understanding of his field. Makes pretty okay political jokes during lectures. Tests are HARD and make up (literally) 80% of your grade. No homework whatsoever but you absolutely have to study for tests. 5 hours of accumulative study will get you a B... his study guides don't cover all the material.

Jones is an amazing speaker and teacher but his tests are what killed my grade. There are 3 tests and 1 easy paper. The tests are all the same with multiple choice and fill in the blank with some matching which is what is pathetic. Most of the time I thought I did good on the tests but nope I was wrong. Doesn't give extra creditcurves!

Prof. Jones is passionate about government--that's for sure. You'll enjoy his class if you're actually interested in government or political science. Prepare to take notes in class. He speaks slow and concise-- making it easy to write down. He hands out study guides usually a week before the exam.

listen to everything he says in class and make sure to write IT ALL down (no ppt), study what you dont know before the review session that way you can ask questions for the exam, book not needed but he is ALWAYS available to help struggling students, he will even tutor you after class. Definitely take this class if you're ready to work every day

tldr: Little old fashioned in his method of teaching, but liberal, intelligent, and a very respectful teacher. His lecture can get a little dry from time to time, but it is still useful.

Professor Jones is very knowledgable about the subject, very funny, and is the kind of guy you want to listen to. His classes are entirely lecture based, so take good notes. He is a very liberal and takes swipes at conservative figures, but I'm a conservative, and I stomached it fine. I liked him enough to take another class of his.

ALL you have to do is read the text book, do the inquisitives (you can do them as long as you need till you get the grade you want) and pass the tests there are very few of them... easiest class I have EVER taken and I am not great at school. Requires little work, but you learn easily and quickly.

Professor Jones is the closest thing to an actual college professor. If you can't handle this class then you cannot handle the real college load when you transfer to the big leagues. His lectures are thorough and relevant.
