All she talks about are vampires and sex. Quizzes are pretty easy and she grades papers easily. Fairly easy to make an A.

She does like to talk about Vampires and sex. She takes forever to grade your papers, but she will help you. Quizzes come from short stories, plays, and poems,but if you read sparknotes you're fine on those.

Very easy/fun speach class even if you take the Saturday class! If you don't make an A then you didn't try.

She's a great teacher. I'd reccommend her to anyone. Pushes deadlines back, works with you on things, and yes, she gets way off topic. But she's a great person to talk to as well.

Best prof I've had at USC. Class is easy and fun. About the only class I've actually looked foward to going to. The bulk of your grade is based on 3 speeches which are very easy. Doesnt really care about attendance but you have in class assignments throughout the semester. I'd take the class again if I could.

I had a lot of fun in this class. She does a good job of mixing classic literature with some more entertaining vampire books. You write three 3-5 page papers, a 1.5 page paper, and a final. I would reccomend this class, the material is interesting, she does a good job of teaching, and the workload is very fair.

Good god it was easy. The only requirement to pass this class is giving 2 sh!ts. You don't even have to turn in any of the few, short paper. Read the books. Yes, she is friggin obssesed with Vampires/werewolves/wizards/hobbits/unicorns and you will have to read about how those creatures got freaky. Get over it and take the class.

This was a wonderful class and Ms. Kramer was wonderful also. I took the class on Saturday, and didn't want to wake up all the time so it was good that attendance wasn't mandatory except on major speech days. 3 major speeches and a couple of really easy ones. Open book final. Wonderful teacher, TAKE HER!!

Porf Krammer is a great professor. Take the class, learn some presentation skills, cut some jokes. So far I just wish she could teach more classes cause I would enroll in all of them. Just dont expect to get grades. If you are a slacker and dont do any of your assignments, which are easy, then be concerned. If you do your work straight out A.

Kramer is good at what she does. Class is very comfortable and laid back. 3 major speeches and a few small ones. Pretty easy class and helpful for people who are scared in front of crowds. Great overall, just don't expect to get grades back very fast- she's really busy.

I don't know why Kramer has gotten ANY bad reviews! She is extremely laid back, does her best to make you feel comfortable, very people friendly. True, she doesn't return things quickly and if late to class sometimes, but she is very down to earth. I thought she was awesome. Take her, you'll get your A as long as you try.

Very friendly teacher. Will give you her digits and offers to be your shrink. Very little homework. Quizzes were so-so but all MC and fill in the blanks. Choose subjects that will enhance your speech. I got an easy A, but my friend mysteriously received a B. If I hadn't talked to him, I would definitely reccomend her. Class get out early

Prof. Kramer is pretty cool. The speeches aren't too bad but make sure you keep up with the syllabus and the quizzes because she won't remind you most of the time. But overall, its a enjoyable class.

First off, I avoided SPCH 140 for as long as I could - I hate public speaking, but Professor Kramer's style of teaching and her helpfulness made the class bearable. I would definitely take her, she lets you choose what you want to talk about and the writing assignments are not as harsh as the other spch sections.

You need the textbook for quizzes you have (so easy) I bought a diff. edition for 3 dollars on ebay, the original one is like 50. GREAT TEACHER TAKE THIS CLASS! SHE RULES and the class is fun & easy.

If you have to take speech, TAKE HER! She is the easiest speech teacher you can get. 3 speeches a semester on pretty much whatever you want. She really doesn't pay close attention. You can pretty much do it off of the top of your head and still get a good grade. No real homework except an outline due with each speech. KRAMER IS AWESOME!!!!!!!

You have to take this class so TAKE HER. She's hilarious and makes speech not so awful. She lets you pick your topics and is really lenient. She cancels class on occasion to give everyone a break and is a very conscious of student's schedules/pretty much lets you pick the day you speak. No reason to not make an A.

I can not say enough good things about Kramer. If you are nervous about taking speech, take her. The class is so laid back and shes very resonable with everything. you can pick your own topics and the speech types are really simple. She makes it a fun class to be in so if you can, take her!

This is going to take mult pgs to rate this class. For starters, GREAT TEACHER! I was scared to death of doing speeches in front of one person, much less a whole class. She was very helpful and tries to make you feel comfortable. Be up front about it on the 1st day or so, so she knows and can help you. She is very understanding.

Pg 2 (see below) She is very relaxed on the topics u choose, which is a huge help cuz u are talking about something you in joy &/or find interesting. Huge Tip: TAKE A SATURDAY CLASS. I know, it sounds crappy; after all, it is the weekend. As long as u try, show up 4almost all the classes,& do ur presentations, then you will pass with flying colors.

Pg 3 (see below) Also, having it on a Saturday normally means there will be a smaller class, which can help if your terrified of presenting in large groups. In addition: you only meet once a week. Yes, it is for a longer time, but it means you will get to know your class mates better, make a few friends and even become comfortable in front of them.

pg 4 (see below)And, because of meeting once a week, you don?t have to dread coming to public speaking class every other day and you have all week to prepare for it. Tip: do NOT wait till the last day to write and prepare your whole speech. It is stressful and does not help you get over your fear if you are not prepared.

Pg 5 (see below)Secondly, I would recommend a topic that includes food; you can never go wrong with food :) There is a book but we used it once, and even then you could look on with someone else. Mrs. Kramer is a great teacher and this class can help you get over your fear, it did for me. Also, you may not have to meet ever Saturday? ;)

Since you have to take speech somewhere along the way you might as well take it with a professor who genuinely wants you to do well and does everything in her power to help you succeed and actually learn how to become a better speaker

If you're in the business school you'll probably have to take this. I had a 5:30 class and we rarely stayed the whole time. She's so nice and grades more on effort than actual delivery of speech. If you're going to take speech 140 take it with her!!!!

Lynn is hilarious. She is helpful and an easy grader. If you put some time and thought into your speeches, you will do fine. If you are nervous of speaking in front of others, don't worry. She knows the difference between nervousness and unpreparedness, and she never takes points off her nervousness....take Lynn's class!

LOVE MRS. KRAMER. She is so flexible, awesome, and understanding. The work load isn't too heavy and she makes class interesting. Go to class because she does take attendance, don't buy the book. She is a fairly easy grader I think because she understands how hard public speaking is for people, but she makes the environment very comfortable

If you have to take SPCH take Kramer! I hate giving speeches and writing but she made it so easy and made you feel comfortable about giving speeches! She is funny and is very flexible. EASY A AND SUPER NICE!!!

Great teacher. She's relaxed so you're not so nervous. She gives examples for the harder speeches and she lets you decide when you want to give your own speeches. She lets you use note cards as long as you're not reading from them. Most of the time class goes by so fast you get out early. She doesn't limit you as to what you can talk about.

Very easy class, she is nice, and very understanding. Told us straight up not to buy the book. No homework. Attendance is mandatory. Gives out extra credit articles on fb (VERY EASY) 5 speeches, longest one is 5 min. You choose the days you want to speak, rarely stayed the whole time. Professor Kramer is one of the best professors at USC. The coolest and best class I had all year, I looked forward to her class everyday. Speech's are manageable, class atmosphere is great, and she is a forgiving grader. She wants to help you to do well! Definitley take her for speech 140!!

Easiest speech class. You can prepare most of your speeches withing 30 minutes if you have access to the internet or sometimes just your imagination.

She is an awesome teacher! The class is structured pretty well that you won't have too much to do most of the time. The hardest part is just constructing the speeches, which she gives you plenty of tips and ideas. Lots of fun!

I wasn't looking forward to taking speech at all, but Mrs. Kramer definitely made it more entertaining. You give like 3 major speeches and a few small ones, but they're all pretty simple. She gives descriptions of everything you have to do on blackboard and gives extra credit opportunities. She's funny, nice and helpful! Don't buy the book though!

Seriously the best teacher I've ever had. She's helpful and very clear on her instructions and she understands that her class is not the only one that her students will take. You will definitely learn something in the class, but it is interesting and informative!

Kramer is awesome!! I hated giving speeches, but she is pretty lenient as long as you talk about the few things she mentions. She offers a lot of extra credit assignments, which is simply reading a short article and responding to it (you get the credit if you attempt it). 4 quizzes online which are easy. EASY A!!!! She understands you have to pass this class for Carolina core and makes it as easy as she can. I never spent more then the class period before to prepare my speech and had no problems. book is helpful for online quizzes, and there is weekly chances for extra credit but you shouldn't need it.

Kramer is funny and a fairly easy grader. You end up speaking a lot, so you get a lot of practice in before the big assignments role around. The class periods were enjoyable and I never had to spend too much time outside of class preparing.

If you are taking public speaking, GET HER. She is definitely the best teacher I have had so far. She is funny and breaks the ice with the class very well, considering a lot of people come into it nervous about speaking in front of each other. She cares about her students and knows that speaking is hard but she has mini speeches all throughout the semester so the bigger ones don't seem that hard. PERFECT teacher for speech, especially if you have anxiety with public speaking. Puts everyone at ease by making all the speeches casual. She laughs at all your jokes and always has funny feedback after your speeches. She doesn't catch you off guard with any impromptu speeches either. Class includes various easy speaking exercises and the majority of the grade is based on 4 speeches which she is very clear about what she is looking for and 3 quizzes which can all be found on spark notes. Don't buy text book.

Speech is scary for a lot of people but she makes talking in front of everyone seem like no big deal. She makes sure you get close with your class so you feel really comfortable. Gives you good feedback if you actually read it. She is a little nutty but it grows on you throughout the semester. Highly recommend for speech! Also SO much extra credit.

Definitely would recommend taking her for speech 140. She is insanely chill and a nice grader. Every 3 weeks we have an online quiz and the answers are all on quizlet. You don't need to buy the textbook and the small speeches are just for completion. Just put a little bit of effort into your three big speeches and its such an easy A. 10/10 teacher.

Pros: Very laid back, understands that public speaking isn't easy, you come up with your own topics and write a speech for it that's all the class is, easy. Cons: The whole class is just people giving speeches which can get boring

Dr. Kramer is a solid choice for SPCH 140. She is very nice and funny, and she will give you an A on any speech as long as you meet the bare minimum requirements. She is really fun to talk to, and she is very approachable. Negatives are that her class is a little chaotic and disorganized, and she takes forever to grade assignments.

Professor Kramer is great! If you have the chance to take her class, do so! I had her for speech 140. I am a super nervous public speaker, but this class has helped me to not be so scared. What you are graded on is clear, and the assignments are not difficult. Make sure you go to class though, because sometimes she will give extra credit points

The other reviews are right; she's an INCREDIBLY easy teacher, quizzes are a joke, I never bought the textbook, lets you go early, and is super forgiving on make ups. However-- this class was TOP TIER boring. Listening to bad speeches is rough, and half our class never showed up any given day because it was so dry. She tries to help, but doesn't.

Kramer is a very easy professor for Speech 140. All her assignments are very straightforward and clear, and for speeches you can literally write a script and read it if you're nervous about saying the right things. Only thing is, she takes ages to grade and didn't put most grades in blackboard until the end of the semester.

she is a super nice grader and lets you read your speech from paper while presenting. She only told us about 1 of the 4 quizzes during class but if you checked blackboard at least twice a week you were fine. the quizzes were open-note and extremely easy. I would highly suggest you take her if you still need public speaking credit

Professor Kramer is hilarious and relatable. She's very clear about assignments & grading criteria. Not too strict about reading off of paper/eye contact & is understanding about nerves. Gives days off for speech prep and is very lax about missing class/making up assignments. Definitely one of my favorite USC professors and highly recommend!

there are 4 speeches the longest is 6 min. there are a few quizzes and papers. she grades on a lot of small things (peer review, speech outline, etc). she is super sweet and funny. she comes off a little intimidating at first but she is super sweet even grading wise. I wish I could take her again she's amazing. btw u don't need the textbook.

Professor Kramer was a really nice lady and made you feel comfortable while speaking. She always left you thorough feedback and ways in which you could improve each speech. She is not a really tough grader her expectations are very clear. She is very personable and understanding. I would recommend this class. 10/10.

Nice teacher, expectations aren't super high. If you have given speeches in front of a class before and comfortable doing it this will be a very easy class. Even the long speeches I wrote the night before and didn't practice would still get 90+ on them. Has been teaching the course a while so has it down to a science.

Professor Kramer is probably the best professor there is for this class. There are different kinds of speeches u gotta do but they aren't hard, and 4 easy quizzes. she is a funny and caring person, and I couldn't recommend anyone other than her for this class. showing up does matter tho.

Take her if you can; it will be the easiest speech class you take. I am extremely shy, but she made it not feel intimidating at all. She tells you the type of speech you need to do, but lets you pick the topic so you actually enjoy what you are talking about.
