Very entertaining as well as educational! I've never laughed so much in any school experience. I highly recommend his classes especially for those who find math challenging. Lynn Newcomb is light hearted and easygoing but also teaches well. A rare and valuable combination in any professor.

Professor Newcomb is a breath of fresh air. It was very nice to have an algebra professor who understands that algebra will probably not be useful for most of us on a daily basis. Extremely helpful instructor who takes the time to help you grasp concepts and do well. He is a brainiac but not intimidating; I wish he was teaching statistics soon. Gives chocolate when you're taking exams to somewhat ease the pain! LOL If you do the work, you will definitely pass the class, if not get an "A".

To pass the class, don't skip class and ask for help when you need it. There are extra credit opportunities and plentiful tutoring time. Plus, he wears awesome shirts.

Lynn Newcomb is by far the best teacher I've ever had! He explains everything so clearly. He gives helpful hints on tests. He does expect homework but you are only required to do 5 out of however many problems he assigns. He really cares, he is really there for the student! I have never gotten a better grade in a math class before!!!!

He will not let you fail this class! Even if math is a difficult subject for you he still makes it very easy to get a high grade! He was extremely helpful each time I asked for help. He has a review day where he goes over the entire test the day before you take it. There is no reason anyone should fail or even get a low grade! Awesome professor!

Lynn Newcomb works with you to help pass the class. Seriously, study and do your homework and you'll be just fine. He gives reviews before the exams. So, even if you don't study at the very least study the review. He assigns word problems, so make sure you understand the concepts of the assignments. Great instructor!

There was only four tests including the final, if you kiss a question on the test he gives it back to you to correct before you turn it in. Tests are way easier than homework.

Great professor! Homework is given every class period, but it truly prepares you for tests. Tests are a good length. What you review for the test, will help for the test. Won't test you over things you did not prep for.

He is fair and provides every student attention and the tools necessary to succeed. His classes move right along and he does a great with test reviews. He doesn't assign tons of homework but the problems he does assign will help you better understand the principles of that weeks lesson.

Tests given every 2 weeks, works through notes very quickly but takes the entire class time.

Mr. Newcomb is one of the best teachers I have had. As long as I can remember, I have always struggled with Math. But with thorough handouts going over the material and the opportunity to ask questions, math was very enjoyable for me and easier to learn. His classes are mostly lecture/notes and he moves through material quickly, which can be daunting, but there is a review before every test that is thorough and helpful. Tests are fair and he's a generous grader who gives lots of helpful feedback. He accommodates those who are continuing in math or just finishing up.

Take as many of your required classes with him as you can. He only makes a few bad math jokes. So it's definitely worth taking classes with him.

He was really funny and brought a lot of humor to the class! After you take your exam, he goes over it and marks the ones that are wrong and you are able to go back and correct it. It is very hard to fail this class - do show up. Very accessible outside of class and good at explaining the concepts. Tends to go off on tangents, sometimes :)

Although I did find some difficulty in his teaching style, overall he is an amazing teacher. He is a teacher that genuinely cares about his students and wants them to pass. The only way to fail is to not show up and not do the homework! He has review the class before the test that are very similar to his tests making studying simple.

The class is simple you show up and you get a study guide for the lesson that day. Then he lectures on how you can solve the problems and does it many ways of doing it. At this time you can ask questions if you want and he will not call on you but to the whole class and you can decide if you want to answer or not.

Even though there is a lot of homework, he gives plenty of room for getting credit, isn't harsh on grading, and goes over homework answers each day. He does Plenty of story time which helps you get through class (if you're not a math person), very chill and relaxed and answers questions. Just be sure to be clear with your question!!

The majority of your grade is made up of tests, but don't let that scare you. Professor Newcomb prepares you for them, and the reviews he gives out for the tests are extremely helpful. He is an extremely fair grader, and you should be able to leave his class with a good grade, even if math isn't your strong suit.

Professor Newcomb is really good at explaining things and actually wants everyone to do well. Also, knows a lot of interesting information so class is always engaging and fun. And he's on point with the dad jokes. Great instructor, definitely recommend and only hope that I'm so lucky that I can be in another class of his.

Mr. Newcomb presented excellent lectures spinkled with techniques that made it easier to solve problems. For example, he showed us a technique to mulitple conjugates quickly when rationalize the denominator in less than a second. Also I thought his lectures on completing the square to find the vertex of a parabola were excellent as well.

Mr. Newcomb is an amazing teacher. I took an online remote class, if you do the same attendance is mandatory. He grades you on that but you do get 3 absences before he begins to dock points. He responds to emails quickly, and is always ready to help. Super understanding and flexible if you need to reschedule an exam. Also tells pretty funny jokes!

I hate math, but I don´t think I could've passed this class without Mr. Newcomb. He would respond to me within minutes of sending him an email. I think what I most enjoyed about him and his class was his grading. He always looked for ways to give us more points.

This class was not easy for someone who struggles with math. The professor is very nice and funny, but he does the problems quickly, and its usually about 3 examples. This is not a bad thing for someone who can understand math very easily, but to me personally, it was difficult. He is very understanding as well! I recommend this class and professor
