She can be nice one class, then flips out the next. She held up the midterm and said they were "dirt." We had an hour on the test to write 3 essays. Half the class is failing. She's always missing class, but will yell at you if you miss a class. Avoid!

extremly UNFAIR grading, is in a good mood one day and upset at the whole class the next four of the week. Be ready to watch her grading if you take her class.

nothing she says is worth taking notes on. she hardly gives any info about the reading and doesn't want to teach or talk herself; basically she wants students to discuss their opinions on how silly the characters are being. she is psycho, i wanted to take a barbiturate before class every day. also, a very rude and unfair grader. avoid this class!

horrible professor! she is unclear and cancels class all the time. she doesn't explain anything. she is often mean to certain people in the classs on a random basis. avoid her if possible!

this professor was very rude to boys. she sweats alot during random times. she is always late to class. she cancels often which is a plus if you dont like going. she is a hard grader but there was not very much to be graded. she is not well mannored and insults people sporatically.

Terrible professor. Unclear in expectations, plays favorites, arbitrarily hard grader. If you're not a favorite, you can't win. Asks for student's opinions and tells us they can't be wrong, and then goes on to tell people how wrong they are. SUPER RUDE. Avoid this teacher at all costs.

She has been my advisor for 3 years, so I was looking forward to taking her class, but she is an AWFUL prof. She's an unfair grader. She gave me a C- on my midterm, which I showed to another professor who said it deserves a high B. She's very into using big words because she's a Doctor and she doesn't provide any helpful information, so that you can improve.Also, she's never available to her online students so forget about talking with her.

Took online Victorian Period class & received an F on Midterm exam. I have never received a failing grade, let alone a low grade in my entire academic career. I had another prof review my exam & she said she would have given me a B+ & advised me to complain. PLEASE stay away from Prof Parker!

Withdrew from "Victorian Period" online course. This woman is nasty. Her comments are rude, insulting, and unprofessional. She doesn't help you to succeed, and she doesn't respond within a reasonable time frame. She is an unfair grader - I've never received such low grades before. If you care about your academic career don't take her courses.

I am an adult professional writer returning to school after many years. I signed up for Parker's class because I enjoy British Literature and thought I would enjoy the class. However, I could have learned as much with a good reading list and saved myself the stress and heartache. Parker does not teach. She gives assignments then shreds them.

I must agree with all of the negative reviews here.You'll also have no idea how you are doing since it takes a month or longer to receive papers back.

Parker is your classic researcher who has no business being in a college classroom. She is slow, disinterested, rude, and random. She really brings down the overall quality of Framingham State.

This was a really difficult class, I cant even believe how mean of a professor she was/is. She was not helpful whatsoever and did not care about students in her class. I would never take a class with her again and I strongly do not recommend her.

Do not take a class with her! I've never had a harder time with a teacher or professor in my life. Her expectations for assignments don't match what is written on the assignment sheets. She's rude, degrading, and overly emotional. She does not care if you do well, all she cares about is somehow proving that she is smarter than you. Avoid her!

This class and professor genuinely scared me. As a first semester freshman I was not ready for this class. All we did was talk about monsters for hours on end and I would zone out most of the time. BORING. And she doesnt know how to have a conversation so dont even try to talk to her. Do not take!!

I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE AMERICAN SHORT STORY this professor is the hardest professor you'll ever take in your school career. Nothing is good for her the chances of receiving a good grade is extremely low SAVE YOURSELF by not taking this professor and especially this class

No idea what is expected for this course. She does not explain what assignments are due for undergrad, only for the grad students. She does not explain the directions clearly enough. She doesn't offer anything in lecture, but pop culture references. Also good luck getting a response to e-mails when asking for help with an assignment. No structure!

This professor is the reason I couldnt graduate on time. I met with her on my own time to try to figure out a plan on how I could complete the course and even said I would do extra work. She denied it and told me to not even finish the 10 page paper I had brought to discuss with her. I threw away several hours of work and had to withdraw.

I am a Senior honors student and I took this coarse to fulfill my credits I passed with a B- and I read all of the books and took my time on the tests.. she is a tough grader, doesnt grade tests until the end of the semester and never gave me the course evaluation because she probably doesnt care about feedback NOT AN EASY CLASS FOR A 100 leve

Technologically inept, this would have been fine a decade ago; however when she's unable to post assignments on time (sometimes posting as late as the night before they are due after 6), has typos in the syllabus which caused people to be unprepared for tests, and does next to nothing to offer help to students I simply can't recommend her to people

Yes, she is a professor but all she does is talk and talk. She is so invested in monsters and everything and it is a little weird. Our whole class does not speak and she is the only one who speaks. She has us do a reading for every class but the readings be each like 10+ pages long, to be read in one night, is crazy.

I would not recommend you take this class, or any class of Dr.Parkers if you are of a darker skin tone. She will degrade you and subtly push you to in the direction of failure. She continuously creates false stories to make her behaviors seem acceptable/plausible. the workload is not hard but she does withhold grades.

She is by far the worse professor I have had in the entirety of my FSU career. Not only does she not care about the well being of her students mentally, but she does not care education wise as well. She does not respond to emails at reasonable times, and is very very very rude. I hope that anyone who sees this knows not to take her class.
