I found her to be a tough, but not impossible teacher. 3 hrs. time spent on hw is a must if you plan to keep up in her class. For some people, calculusI will probably be the hardest class they will have. And she makes sure that you learn it
She is a very helpful and good teacher. Only tons and tons and tons of homework. She is very tought with grading because she doesnt give a lot of extra credit etc etc...Sometimes she gets confused when she is trying to solve problems in front of the class

Not really a hard class but I found she didnt teach well, went over too quick, lots of hw, literally 8 hrs and I took her over winter break for 3 days, dropped the class cuz I would start at 4 and end at 12 midnight.
Probably the cutest teacher ever.She gives sooo much effort and dedication, but demands A LOT OF HW in return.She also did not drop any tests.But if you put time into math, then you'll be fine.Not recommended for slackers.Moderate test difficulty.

Really Great Teacher! I learned alot from her 110 class. She's not only helpful in class but outside too. She does demand A LOT OF HW, but it really pays off during tests. This course is overall difficult but she really knows her stuff and gets her point across clearly.

when i didn't do my hw, i got Ds. but when i started to do my hw, i got high As and ended up with B. i liked her. she let us use graphic calculator and even teaches us how to use it. very helpful
Shes the dumest most cheerful calculator dependent calculus teacher i have ever known in my life. If ur good at math and love to do homework for like 3 hours every night than this is ur class. Study hard and get a good grade. Huggee asss though, props!!!
I took PRE-CALCULUS during summer. I stayed up every single night doing homework. Literally -- I did not sleep many many nights during that summer. My summer was ruined, and I still ended up with a not so hot grade.

well, she teaches good and she is very well-known about the MATH, and also she has a sense of humor. but the problem of this class is.. 'DAMN HARD TEST and FREAKING HW'. however, if u are in MATH Major and wanna know so much about math, then take this class..
Math is tough, and any body will tell you that homework is the key. If you dont like HW, take a self paced class! She is by far, besides Hassakoursian, one of the better math teachers there. She is always helpful and willing to help you if you help yourself! I have an A,and I am not a math major!
She's very respectful teacher. She has been teaching calculus for many many years, so, you bet she knows about every single stuff that you should know about. Every one saids that she gives a lot of hw but I think that is the reasonable amount of work that you should do to get through with an A
She has her ditzy moments, but that makes that much more fun and she explains everything in a clear manner so that anyone can understand it. There is a lot of homework involved, but it pays off. When the final comes around you will be very well prepared. I got an A in the class and I hate math.
Seemingly very empathic and sympathetic towards her students, she will still give you D or a F without any compunction. Run! You see her? Run! She gives you so much HW that you have no time to study for this class and any other class.She thinks everyone who strolls into her class is a Math Major.
This class was awsome. It is not easy, but you learn a lot. She is very clear and she spends time answering questions unlike others. She gives a lot of hw, but it is also helpful, because a lot of problems show up on the tests that are like the ones from the hw. ATTEND THE SI FOR HER CLASS. IT HELPS
this class is very tough class. don't expect A if u even screw one single test. i screwed one test (got 33) and now i got a B -.- . i don't blame her. she did her best and i did my job. just do all homework and review ALL hw..then u will be fine in this class.
i was just repeating teh course from AP Calc last yr in high school & this class is soooo much harder! not only is the homework like 6 hrs a nite, but the tests are really, really hard! it does help to go to the SI's but i never went to 1. Alsom 1 bad test grade & u'll never get an A!

Her test were very hard, and when she was explaining problems in class...she would get confused a lot. Avoid this teacher. She is crazy...it would be like 55 degrees and she would be complaining that the air conditioning wasn't working. "Make sure you bring a bottle of cold water to class." WOW!
She will not care if your dog died, you have to do well in the class! study a lot and don't expect her to understand that not everyone likes math. If you can avoid her, DO IT!
you have to listen in the class...you can get an A very easily...i didn't get an A...but you can...i had other classes...if you are not a math or engineering major....don't ever think about taking this class...cuz your going to drop it or ending up with a D or and F...you gotta do the homework well.
DO NOT TAKE THE CLASS IF YOU WANT TO PASS. She gives you ninety hours of homework and grades it! Her tests are ridiculously hard. She should just retire from teaching math and just teach sewing and art and craft classes.

Please, save your time, don't ever think of taking her, u'll end up dropping the class or failing it. Tests are extremely hard, u have to do homework every day, cuz she collects it and makes stupid comments on it like "your efford is awful". Very discouraging, unfair, and besides she makes u learn how to use her stupid graphing calculators,she suck
I took math 110 this summer with Ms. Pomeroy and i have to say that she is one of the "best" teachers in this campus. She knows the material that she teaches and she is very helpful. Eventhough it was hard for me taking it during the summer i still earned an A by just doing my H.W. and studying for the tests. I highly recommend her!:)

One of the hardest teachers I've ever encountered. She expects a whole lot from her students, as if you don't have any other class besides her class!! So much homework & I personally, didn't really find her approachable. Maaaaaan, did I feel stupid!!
she was very helpful. great lectures. method of teaching is easy to understand. very into her students. unlike a lot of teachers, she really wants you to pass. she gives a lot of homework, but honestly that is the only way you are really going to understand and get a firm hold on the content of pre-calculus. she really prepared me for calculus.
Very difficult teacher. Gave alot of homework each night! However, in the end you'll end up knowing the course 101% well as long as you do all her work. If not... well then like the other half of the class you fail!

Very strict teacher, gives homework, like 4 hours per day, test are easy if you do the homework, problems are almost the same most of the time, her lectures are awsome, if you take good notes, you don't even need to read the book, understands students' problems, but compromizes very little, she is an optemistic person, I like her:)
You need to pay attention in class and DO YOUR HOMEWORK. Be prepare to work hard. You will be fine if you do HW and understand the materials. I actually got A in both classes. Good luck.
She is one of the worst teachers in GCC. She figures that fun and interesting problems are good for tests. Where you need to know the steps very clearly and still manage to solve a tricky problem in 1 hour for 10 problems. Half the class dropped by the 3rd week. Wayyy to into math to care about anything else.
the worst teacher i've ever had and pretty sure that i will ever have... i knew math really well and i really loved it... after i took her class, i started to hate it. her tests are freakin hard, she always chooses people that she likes... in case if she doesn't like u, she will fail u. i got a C in her class, now my GPA can't go higher. think twic
there is alot of hw..probably 2-3 hrs day literally but its calculus 5 units what do you expect? she explains everything enthusiastically tests are main points of chapters (recommended chp reviews) ask questions it helps. everything you should expect for a 5 unit class.

She is a good teacher, goes over the homework a lot, moves through the chapter quickly. During the semester you will have 5 tests(50 pts each), no quizzes, every day homework. Tests a little hard, but if you do all the assignments, you will be good.
she is an okey teacher. but she has no integrity, she is also a cold harther person. while im sick , sitting and crying, she did not alowe me to take the final later, and because of that my grade droppped down. she shold treat her students with rescpect, but she treats them with ignorance.
Best math teacher!!! Don't expect to get an A if you are not willing to put time and effort into it. If you take good notes, do all the homework, and ask her whatever you don't understand you will do fine. She has a great teaching style. If you like the subject you will love her class. This is a fast class where you learn a lot! Best math teacher!
the worst teacher ever. i have always been excellent in math. never had any little trouble understanding it. what happened in her class-i donno. she's just horrible. does 1 or 2 HW problems in 1 hour. reads the textbook instead lecturing the material. tests - u cannot understand what she wants u to do even if u r a native english speaker.
I love ms. Pomeroy, one of the best teachers i have ever had. You know what some people are lazy, that's why they don't like her. She does give lots of hw, which is excellent, beacuse it really helps you prepare for the tests. She cares alot for her students, and i learned so much in her class, seriously. I would defitetly recommend her .

She is a nice lady, very mean at the beginning of the semester to weed out the weak students. She gets nicer and funnier. However, she is VERY unrealistic about her HW. The wording on her tests are not always understandable, and different from homework problems. Although she is nice, I would not recommend her to science majors, 5hrs just on her HW!
Tests are nothing like the homework. Too much homework which is pointless because the tests are nothing like the homework. Why make a test that has nothing to do with what you studied?
ms. pomeroy is one the best math teachers that i have ever had. goes over the homework and gives partial credit on the tests. she gives a lot of homework which is good practice for her tests because all her tests qwestions comes form the hw. love u ms pomeroy.

homework is time consuming, and is not a good reflection on what the test will be like. you got to apply what you know. she is unclear at times, and honestly not one of the best math teachers i have had. she is helpful and kind, however, i do not recommend her.
Took Pre-Calc and CalcI with her a few years ago and yep, they were a TON of work... but they're *supposed* to be! Put in the hours on the HW, study hard for exams and you'll be prepared for CalcII and classes at 4-year schools. She was such a dedicated and fair prof that I still stop in to say hello when I'm in town. Thanks Ms. Pomeroy!

Great teacher. b4 taking her class, evaluate how much time u will have for hw and how much time u r willing 2 put into the class-its very time consuming. lots of hw. BUT doing all that will help u tons on the test. shes available for extra help & gives extra credit probs on test. pay attenion wen correcting hw, she gives hints as to wat it will be
I don't know why Miss Pomeroy doesn't have a smiley face. She is an excellent Math Professor who is passionate about teaching the subject. She's no pushover so be careful not to break her rules, or you'll face the consequences. She really cares about her students. You want to do well? DO THE HOMEWORK. It's the same with every other math class.
I took her Math 100 class it was a piece a cake. she knows all the short cuts. She is really easy. She grades fairly. She gives HW accordingly and all her tests come from the homework. If you do your HW you will ACE the class. She is a great teacher and she will make you feel at ease. Her SI hours which help alot. We sure survived Fall 2007 :O)
Her tests are easy. She dosen't give too much homework. She will teach you all the shortcuts you need to know. OVERALL SHE IS A GREAT PROFESSOR WITH PASSION. VERY EASY CLASS.
She's a pretty cool teacher. There's a lot of homework, but its a math class so there's no way around that. I took her during summer though, and everything was really condensed. If you do most of the homework, you'll do fine on her tests.

Don't fall for that smile. She gives HW for every teacher in GCC and then some. You will not get anything higher than C in her class guaranteed. Its not worth it to bring down Ur GPA or to get a W. Her class is the last one to fill up & close so don?t worry she will always add U, look for other ones first.
Pomeroy is not only a great instructor, but cares for her students' educational careers. She does assign hw everyday and a good amount at that, but if completed thoroughly you will definitely earn a grade of B or higher.
Even though she's very monotonous and boring, her theaching is clear. She is a super hard teacher. assigns tons of HW. Attendence is manditory, you miss 3 days she drops you. I am a state A honers student and a math majer and she gave me a C. If you care for your GPA dont take this class. it ruined my GPA. DONT TAKE HER CLASSES!!!!

Took her class in the summer and got B. Yes she does give alot of HW but it benefits you. She's very caring and passionate about math and is always there to help you becasue in the end she wants the best for you. I have no regrets taking her class and I wish I would have taken her for math 103

A great teacher. you should be on time.though attending classes is not mandatory.Her class is fun.She gives home works and collects 25 of them and grades them.she doesn't drop the lowest grade but she replaces it with the average grade that you get (if higher than the lower grade).her exams are easy.if you do the HWs and study you will pass with A.
the worst of her kind! i took her class when i just moved and my english wasn't that good. the tests were composed of word problems, n i wouldn't understand certain things. so, i took all the steps to solve the problem, n she would just mark everything right off just because i made the wrong choice (out of what i had from solving) for the answer
You'll do about 3 hours of homework a night on average. The tests aren't bad though. I took it during the summer and she gave a quiz every morning that was based on the homework. Basically don't take her class unless you don't like having a social life or if your idea of fun is doing a good deal of math.
lots and lots of homework each night. do the homework. the quizzes are not hard, just know the material. she smiles a lot, and tells stories about her life. sometimes stories that you really dont need to hear. overall, shes alright. she was nice to me.

upside- You will see the ugliest problems and learn to work them. If you manage to get an A or B in this class you are 100% ready for calculus. Shes a fair grader downside- lots of collected h/w. Difficult tests. Expects u to use math discovery center, her T.I's and tutors. She loves math and she expects the same from you.

She's one of the most annoying teachers in Glendale Community College. She's the type of teacher that smiles at you all the time while she slowly kills you in the inside. I have no idea how I got a B in her class. Brace yourselves...
She is one of the nicest caring teachers at GCC! If you do your homework and study her notes, you're SET! There is no extra studying you need to do except for memorizing formulas, but thats math. You wouldn't regret taking her. Her tests are very predictable as well! I'm completely ready for Math 103 because of her class. Great teacher!

Honestly, she is a great teacher. Super nice & she explains the material very well. I'm horrible when it comes to math & yet I understood most of the material. I am very happy I took her class. She's one of the great teachers in my life. I was an international student 5 years ago. First day of the class, I asked her if i could take the class cause my Eng was BAD. She told me I could if i would do my best. So, I did. Thanks to her teaching, I realized I love math, and then transfered to UCLA. (now I preparing for next level)

Lots of hw every night. But as long as you do the HW the tests should be a breeze. Counted HW for points. Not sure of too many math prof who do that. pretty easy just be disciplined and do your work.
Do not take! She only goes over the examples in the book using author guidelines. Teaches very minimal and expects students to "understand" calculus. Tests are a nightmare compared to the book questions. During lessons she forgets important functions and variables and methods. Take someone else. I will pass the class but not sure about the next up.
She is one of the worst math teachers at GCC. Avoid at all costs, trust me. There were 43 people on the first day and 11 people taking the final on the last. She copies the examples out of the book and onto the board expecting you to "learn" calc. You will do hours of homework every night only to receive tests that are NOTHING like you learned.
Here's an unbiased opinion: Don't waste your time. Her tests are NOTHING like the problems you do in the book. I put in a lot of time in this class and yet you get a lot of surprises on the tests. Especially if you're planning to transfer, this will ruin it all for you. Take my advice and don't take it with her. Choose another teacher.

I've gotten an A for her class, but it was a very stressful experience for me. She has her teaching style and you can't expect any other approach. Tests are not so hard but the stress you get before it makes you loose points. 43 students were enrolled to her class and 15 of them passed it. You will learn in her class but I won't take her classes.

Brace yourselves!!TOO MUCH HOMEWORK!! Go to Math Discovery cntr. if you're stuck on one or more problems from the HW because she gives a lot of HOMEWORK. And one more time, A LOT OF HOMEWORK!! Can't stress enough about it!! HW!!! Missing the calss for 5 times, your lowestl score won't be replaced or dropped.
Truly a professor that loves her math. If you have a choice to take her for Trigonometry, take her!! She assigns a ton of HW but it all helps you learn the material. Professor Pomeroy also tells you what to expect on the exam and does not bring any surprises.
She is attentive and repeats important information instead of speeding through it. Most of the test questions come from the homework, so do it! She genuinely cares about the success of her students. She makes a huge effort to help you understand compared to other college teachers. And partial credit on tests!
Her love for math makes the class enjoyable. She makes herself extremely available, which is a rare commodity. She is extremely thorough and repeats important information in multiple ways. If you don't do your homework, you won't pass the class. We're in college people! I'm genuinely disappointed she isn't teaching 119.
I hate math. This class has turned that attitude around 360. Her availability helped with everyday homework questions. Very approachable and is crystal clear about topics. Dont understand something? just ask about it and be told from a different perspective. Great class- wish she would teach the next course. Do the hw, it's what will be on test.

Do your homework the day of the test. That is the secret to all math classes. She assigns a lot of homework but every problem is helpful. She explains how to solve, and why you solve a problem that way. She shows the long way and short cuts. Her teaching style is a preparation for the next math classes. She really makes you work for your grade, she assigns homework so it can be due the next day. She was nice and very helpful but if you work and go to school, she is not for you. You will not sleep.

Prof. Pomeroy is a real gem. She understands her students and she explains material clearly. You need to know your algebra, listen in the class and spend a lot of time on your homework, but it pays off. you will be definitely ready to calculus after this class. If you are lazy or you lacking in algebra, you shall not pass.
first, I was overwhelmed by this class. However, I stuck with it and listened when she promised she would get you ready for calculus. Pomeroy is the best math teacher I have ever had. She makes you work for every point but gives you the materials you need to succeed. Put in the time, try your best, seek help when u need it and u will do very well.
Prof Pomeroy knows her stuff. There was a ton of hw assigned t/o the semester, but it was honestly good practice for the tests. I spent anywhere from 3-6 hrs per night doing hw EVERY DAY. You also have to be on time... it's a TOUGH class but I thought she was nice. She'll answer Qs during office hours. 9/10 would take again.
Prof Pomeroy knows math but doesn't lecture much. You are to read the book and do the hw. Somewhat like a self study course only you get the next day to ask questions. She assigns 5 hours of hw per day and if you tell her that you're working full time she tells you to stop driving fancy cars so you don't have to work so many hours. Don't take her.
Professor Pomeroy is great for the serious math student. Be warned: she assigns a LOT of homework. I spent > five hours a night on her assignments. Very little extra credit offered. She expects lots from students but is fair. Expects her methods be used on tests.
Math 110 is a tough course. You will be transitioning from Algebra to Trigonometry. . Work hard and do homework daily, stay organized. Pomeroy teaches the course really well, office hours are available and extremely useful. As a student I appreciate this instructor she changed my perspective towards math courses. Professor Pomeroy you rock!!!
Really good professor. If you're the one who's going to sit on your phone all day (she's gonna call you out), not do homework, and still expect to pass the class? Don't take her. She's very homework heavy, and her tests are based on the homework and reviews that she gives. She gives partial credit and looks at your work more than the final answer.
She is THE BEST !!! just do your homeworks, ask questions and work hard !!! I recommend her to anyone wants to be ready for calculus
I took math 110 with her after, 5 years of absence of math in my life. She really makes all the students involved and gives great feedback on the homework. I f you are want to have a great math basics to move forward to Calculus.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! I AM WARNING YOU NOW! We had about 100 problems for homework EVERY DAY! Her tests were VERY difficult. The professor is rude and inconsiderate! She would make rude remarks saying things like you won't have a break, youll be doing homework. She would mark you off if you didnt solve the problems her way. A bad experience
There are a lot of comments that she gives us a lot of homework, but I think if you really just concentrate on it for 2 hours or so you can finish it. Do your homework then quizzes are easy and it will be easier fo you to get an A in this class. There are no extra credit so just do your work then youll be fine.
Prof. Pomeroy is absolutely AMAZING! Don't get me wrong, you will have to work for it. she gives a lot of HW and she wants to see you using her methods exactly as she taught them. That being said, she gives as much as she demands. Her office hours are very useful and she answers every question. She's honestly the best Math professor I've ever had
Professor Pomeroy is a gem. Im awful at math so her class wasnt easy for me, but she taught us shortcuts for several of the topics we covered and made a few very difficult concepts so much easier. Assigns a lot of homework which helps pad your grade, and quizzes are pulled directly from the homework questions. Id take her again 100%
Her class was more like a prison than a math class, because she is way too strict on the rules she makes for the class. Please save your self and dont take this class at all costs.
